On a drive through the mountains toward Highlands, North Carolina, Lauren Weaver — a decorator, designer, and restaurateur — and her husband Rick Weaver — a self-described techno-geek and former U.S. Marine — stumbled upon an enchanting open pasture tucked among the rolling hills. The moment they saw it, they knew the land held something special. Soon after, they purchased the property, and the vision for Julep Farms began to take shape. Having recently sold their first restaurant and events concept, the Weavers were searching for a place where they could begin their next chapter — somewhere that celebrated the beauty of the mountains while creating a welcoming space for others to gather. Their goal was to thoughtfully preserve this remarkable landscape and build something that felt both timeless and inviting. Today, Julep Farms is a reflection of that dream — a place where community, celebration, and nature come together.
