Julia Cuddy Photography

My husband and I have had overwhelmingly positive experiences with Julia. She has photographed our one hour engagement shoot and our two hour backyard wedding ceremony. The quality of her photos is unmatched. She does a fantastic job of capturing not only the people, but the details, the natural elements, and the energy of the day. Her direction during shoots was appreciated, because it was our first time really being photographed together professionally. She was able to work in my ideas, too. Much of the time we spent together was filled with laughter and big smiles. Julia does a fabulous job planning and communicating behind the scenes/before the big day. She is easy going, kind, and understanding. We unfortunately had to cancel our big wedding due to COVID-19. She handled the entire postponing/cancelling process with grace, and helped us figure out a way to still have a small ceremony this past year to legally marry. I appreciated her supportive emails throughout the postponing process, too. After the photo shoot, she is quick to give you sneak peeks before sending the full gallery of edited photos over. I so appreciate the ability to download the entire gallery for myself. It is one of the most important things I looked for when researching wedding and event photographers. Her prices are reasonable, respectable, and fair. She's worth every penny! I feel I have found a friend in Julia, in addition to our photographer for life. I cannot wait to work with her again for our big wedding next year and for any future life events my husband and I have together 💕

Out of all the vendors we chose, Julia was hands down the BEST choice we made. She is so incredibly personable. She gets to know you before your big day so that she can capture photos that really do represent you as a couple. When we were looking at photographers, what stuck out to us about Julia's work is that she captures genuine and authentic emotion. You will get the normal wedding shots but you'll also get photos that you can "feel" when you look back at them. Photos that will take you back to what you were doing and thinking when that picture was taken. Also Julia is just an amazing human being. She's kind and fun and really cares about her clients. Hire her tomorrow and check this off your to do list. I promise you won't regret it.

I don't even know where to start with a review of Julia, she is absolutely perfect! If you want to make a true friend who is going to respond to every frantic text you send her for months leading up to your big day helping you plan out the details and just making you laugh, you've found your girl! She has a way of making you feel comfortable in front of a camera and captures the true personality of a couple. She has mastered the art of being invisible and getting amazing candids while also being in your face (or your veil) making your face hurt from laughing so hard. We are so glad that Julia was able to capture our big day for us.

Julia is so incredibly talented and will make you feel as if you’ve known her your whole life. She knows how to make a couple feel at ease during a photo shoot. Julia adds a personal touch to her work, that makes her stand out and memorable, compared to other photographers. Working with Julia has been a dream - my fiancé and I booked Julia to take our proposal/engagement photos and can’t wait to have her capture our wedding! This is a photographer you will want to use to capture every big event in your life!

Julia is amazing at what she does!! My husband and I are usually terrible at getting our picture taken but she makes you so comfortable & she's great at telling you just what to do while also getting some awesome candid photos. You can just tell by our faces that we were having the best day of our lives & I can't thank her enough!! I was nervous getting married in February in Michigan that there wouldn't be many good places to take photos at our venue, but she has such a great eye that they are all just perfect! I look at the photos all the time and just relive that day 😊

Planning a wedding is not my idea of fun. Thank god I had my fiancee who has a background in interior design dive right in to the whole wedding planning process. In the beginning, I made myself available and tried voicing opinions but anybody could tell I had no clue what I was talking about and in all honesty the words I spoke probably were not making a lot of sense. The nuances in the design of the experience completely eluded me. Like an anchor on a ship, I was useful, but only for a few very few well defined tasks. I am also...quirky. Easy going, but very peculiar about things I care about and know about. When I find something I like, I invest 100% of myself until I get to a certain level of knowledge and form strong opinions. One of the hobbies I have gotten into over the last few years has been photography. This is how I met Julia. Although we run in similar social circles, Julia and I connected because we could nerd out talking about the technical aspects of the latest cameras, sensors, and the details and colors that were made possible thanks to my latest acquisition of vintage lenses. I have been drawn to Julia's style, not only because she is a technically excellent photographer that understands the style aesthetics of a properly framed shot, but because the passion she has for her craft fully comes across her work. Julia does not just nerd out about the equipment, but she sees photography as more than just the capture of an image. She captures the emotions and overall ethereal nature of the moment. It goes without saying, I was given the layup of picking our photographer. Although in retrospect, I feel like I was given this task like a parent would give his/her child a remedial task just so that they can say they helped... Anyway, in terms of being photographed, the experience felt natural, unobtrusive, and most of all, fun. Our guests all felt comfortable with her, and I can honestly say they had as much fun as we did being photographed by Julia. Processing was minimal and not a single shot looked like it could have come out of someone's phone's latest social media filter. Delivery was timely and beautifully presented in a custom keepsake box that now acts a conversation piece in our home. Having had Julia as our photographer, was both an honor and a pleasure. As a photographer, I was truly inspired by the passion and level of care she applies towards her art and was a comforting respite in a sea of decision fatigue.

Julia is an amazing photographer and we loved working with her! Not only is her skill as a photographer amazing but she has an amazing personality and infectious laugh which made the whole process even better. Thank you Julia!

I am one to be very very shy in front of a camera. I didn't like my picture taken until Julia came along. Not only does she take stunning, gorgeous pictures, she made me comfortable and found a natural beauty in myself that I didn't know that was there! Highly recommended and I would hire her again 20+ times over!!!!

Julia blends perfectly al the roles you want in a photographer. Finding shots and angles you won't see anywhere, but also nailing traditional shots and not making them look forced. She puts a lot of effort into making the shots look natural and she does that by making you feel comfortable. For every ounce of energy she puts into photography, she somehow finds spare energy to calm the bride with a pep-talk and if necessary, corralling the rambunctious groomsmen into atleast a few pictures without drinks in hand. If it's a customer focused yet art minded photographer you seek, look no further.

Julia was the best! She really made the experience fun and easy. Both of us are not very into getting photos but she was able to capture everything beautifully!!! Also, her packaging and delivery is always impeccable. We now use her for family photos and wouldn’t dream of hiring anyone else.
