With over 7 years of experience behind the lens, I feel truly honored to document the best moments of my clients' lives, allowing them to look back on these cherished memories for years to come. My photography approach is all about stepping back and observing couples in their natural element. I specialize in creating cinematic moments and blending them with editorial vibes to add an artistic touch. I thrive when there's a balance between natural interactions and structured posing, ensuring every shot is both authentic and stunning. I had the privilege of studying photography at NHIA, where I was accepted with a scholarship. During my three years there, I immersed myself in the world of film and digital photography, working both in the studio and in nature. After taking a brief hiatus post-college, I'm thrilled to return to my true passion: capturing the beauty and emotion of life's precious moments.

Julia Wakefield Photography did a couple’s photo shoot for myself and my boyfriend, and our time with her couldn’t have been any better! I was worried that doing a photo shoot would be awkward, but Julia brought a positive and relaxing energy that made the whole experience a lot of fun. I could tell that she had put a lot of effort into thinking of poses before the shoot, and even included themes my partner and I are passionate about, like reading! The photos themselves came out absolutely perfect!!! Both of us look incredible, and you can see how much fun we’re having. I’m not someone who typically feels beautiful, but the poses Julia picked complimented my figure and made me feel stunning! I really couldn’t be happier with this whole process and would highly recommend Julia Wakefield Photography to anybody who asks.

Julia was a dream to work with for our rehearsal dinner/welcome party! We found her last minute and she was extremely responsive, organized, and easy to communicate with. Her work is beautiful and timeless - the photos she captured perfectly encapsulate all the special moments and details of the evening. My fiance and I had the opportunity to do our engagement shoot with Julia and we could not be happier with the experience and the results! Before the shoot, we were able to communicate easily with her over text and send ideas to her that she did her best to incorporate into the shoot. I was initially nervous because it was the first time we were taking official photos for the wedding and being in front of the camera is not something I’m very used to. From the minute we met up for the shoot, Julia’s presence and energy immediately put me at ease. She is bubbly, funny and fantastic at giving direction without actually posing you so it just felt like we were on a date and having fun. The pictures she captured truly portray the nature of our relationship as a couple and were exactly what we were envisioning! I cannot recommend her services enough, it was an absolute pleasure to work with her and I look forward to printing the pictures for our home!

Our elopement on December 8th, 2024, was an absolute dream come true, and so much of that is thanks to Julia! As an LGBTQ+ couple, it was so important for us to work with someone who not only respected but celebrated who we are, and she did just that and more. Her kindness, enthusiasm, and wholehearted support made us feel so seen and cherished throughout the entire process. We LOVED working with Julia for our excellent engagement photos!! It was our first professional photoshoot and she made us feel very comfortable - with amazing photos. We were able to relax and have a lot of fun with it. She was very organized and communicative during the whole process. And the photos came out beautifully! Highly recommend working with her!

We looked at a lot of photographers to shoot our engagement photos and Julia's profile really stood out to us as her photos fit the vibe we were looking for - not overly posted, great composition, and just a hint of drama! Her rates were really good too, great value for money as she delivers a lot of photos, which is important for awkward people like us. Even if there were photos of ourselves we didn't like, since she gave us so many, there were still a ton that we absolutely loved. Julia was also flexible as to schedule as we wanted to schedule our shoot during peak fall and had to change dates. Finally, she works so fast that we didn't get fatigued from posing and smiling. Over all, two thumbs up!
