Julie made an epic black veil for my December wedding. I still can’t believe how amazing it was it was the perfect addition to my black wedding dress. Julie has a great eye for detail and can make your wildest dreams come true as far as a veil for your wedding. I also got the most perfect crown from Julie to pair with my veil.

Julie was absolutely lovely to work with. My daughter lives on the east coast, so we planned her wedding long distance. I told Julie what we thought would look nice with her dress and she easily agreed--suggesting a specific type of tulle for the veil. What she delivered was perfect, and my daughter was thrilled to see it the week of her wedding. The veil complimented the dress and was exactly what we were hoping for. I even purchased a simple head band to accent the veil--again, it worked out amazingly well. I highly recommend Julie.

Julie is a true fairy godmother!!! She is amazing with her creations and so professional and passionate about her work. I stopped by for a consultation on a custom veil for my wedding and she walked me through samples of lengths and materials. She sketched out an idea and let me know when I could expect the final product. When I went to pick up the final product I was speechless! It was everything I had imagined and more. I am a planner and had the pleasure of working with Julie on a recent project. We got to use 3 of her gorgeous designs for a beautiful shoot and I was amazed by the gorgeous hand work and details on each unique piece. Julie made me feel like a princess! I had been on the hunt for a crown that matched the wedding vibe, didn’t look cheap, but also wasn’t ridiculously expensive, and she gave me the perfect option. I also had been thinking about my other accessories for months, knowing that I never really liked the idea of a veil, but knew I wanted to add some drama to walking down the aisle. I was strongly considering a cape instead of a veil. Julie walked me through different veil styles and cape options to help me solidify my decision. We had a colorful wedding and although I chose a white wedding dress, after seeing some white options and some color options, I decided the cape would be more of a show stopper with some color. Julie, my planner, and I had a blast creatively brainstorming different color combinations and embellishments for the cape – hiring a vendor that other vendors want to work with is really important and makes for a much better experience! Julie was so positive and a joy to talk to during my design meetings and fittings with her. For my cape, we combined three colors to create an ombre effect, and Julie was very transparent about some of the challenges that may impact the look to help me make informed decisions. I felt very heard when describing my design priorities for the shape and embellishments of the cape, and she was able to keep those requests at the forefront while adding her own creative suggestions that resulted in something even more magical than I imagined. I was having the bodice of my dress redesigned, and she recommended some fabric for the bodice that we could use on the cape as well, making the whole look stunningly cohesive. When I first saw the finished product my jaw dropped at how stunning it looked and I couldn’t wait to wear it! It truly brought everything together and provided the wow factor I was hoping for. The attention to detail and personal care that she puts into hand-stitching every part of her designs is unparalleled. She’s a great choice because she’ll meet you where you are, and has the skill to execute a variety of visions for your bridal accessories. She has a wide range of beautiful, classic styles that can be personalized to you, but can also do what she did with me and create unexpected, uniquely custom styles. Talking about wedding attire and how you want to look on your wedding day can be a vulnerable experience and I always felt so comfortable, validated, and encouraged during our appointments. As part of a same-sex couple, it was important to us that our vendors were queer-affirming. It’s also important to us to spend our money with small businesses, and the fact that Julie Harris Designs is a small, POC- and woman-owned business meant we were aligning our spending with our values. My guests can’t stop talking about how the cape was indeed a show stopper - if you’re on the fence about adding a custom accessory from Julie this is your sign to go for it!

WOW! I had no idea a veil could do that! I worked with Julie to create a custom veil for my wedding day and I had no idea how a veil could really complete the look, and showcase my gown. I was so impressed by the samples she sent me, and was even more impressed with the final product. My veil is something I will treasure forever. Julie is an amazing designer who does more than bridal veils. We are an LGBTQ+ couple, and were looking for something a little untraditional for men in tuxedos to bring something extra-special to our ceremony. We went in with ideas for a cape to echo a bride’s veil/dress train, and a wearable floral piece to replace a bride’s bouquet. Julie took our ideas and inspiration, working closely with our wedding planner, and ran with them, offering her expert suggestions on colors and construction along the way. We knew we were in good hands trusting her vision. She created one-of-a-kind custom pieces that not only elevated our wedding looks, but brought tears to our eyes when we saw each other in them, and absolutely astonished our guests. Not only do the results speak for themselves, but she was an absolute joy to work with. While making decisions about colors and materials, we could talk about travel and Broadway. Honestly, we could’ve stayed all day in her studio chatting and trying on tiaras, but we knew she had to get down to work. Julie delivered on our fantasies and more. If you want to elevate your wedding day look to something more than just a suit or a dress, Julie is the best.

Initially I didn’t think I would go for a veil, but after trying on some different, non-traditional options when I found my dress, I decided if I was going to do it, it had to be unique! To feel extra magical, I decided I wanted my veil to be a pair of “wings” that attached to the shoulders of my gown. When I brought this idea to the owner of the shop where I bought the dress, she immediately recommended Julie. Our original idea was to order some of the lace appliqués from my gown from the dressmaker and use those on my wings so they would match my gown exactly. Unfortunately, they were all out of stock at the time and did not plan on having more until the month of my wedding! Julie said no problem - We would just look at the dress, find some lace that worked well with the appliqués on the dress, and she would custom-tint it by hand so it would match exactly. I was a little nervous because that seemed challenging, as the color on the appliqués was such a subtle peachy-blush-champagne color, but I figured Julie knew best! When I came to pick up my wings, I couldn’t believe how amazing they looked! The shade of the lace was spot on, and the amount of sparkle we decided to keep within the lace was perfect. I got to try them on with my gown at my final fitting, and the whole alterations crew was abuzz with how awesome they were. With the whole ensemble on too, I could see how well the lace on the wings organically flowed into the lace on the bodice of the gown, trailing off into just tulle on most of the length to showcase the details on the train. Come wedding day I decided to save the wings for after the first look so the groom would be surprised as I walked down the aisle - He knew the veil would be “something different,” and he was totally surprised and loved that I got something so unique. All our family and friends, and our entire vendor team too, were blown away by the whole look! Thank you, Julie, for bringing this extra bit of elegant magic into my wedding day ensemble!

Because of my non-traditional wedding, I wasn’t planning on wearing a veil. However, after hearing that Julie made custom veils that would match with my wedding theme, I was convinced. I ordered a light blue veil with lace and Mickey & Minnie Mouse sequins, and I am in love with it. The final product is gorgeous, and I received so many compliments on it on my wedding day. Julie is sweet, fun, and easy to work with. I enjoyed going to her studio and trying on different veil lengths, styles, and colors. If you want a custom veil, I highly recommend going to her!

A glowing review for Julie! Even though I am based in the Bay Area, Julie was available virtually to consult with, and ultimately, design my wedding veil last October. I ended up with a fingertip length French Chantilly lace veil, which I wore through multiple virtual wedding events and photos. Julie was timely, responsive, and took great care with the design.

Julie is talented and provided such a personal touch even long after the wedding. After a long search for the perfect veil, I ordered from Julie, and it was exactly what I was looking for - dramatic but delicate and elegant all at the same time. Julie Harris made my daughter the most beautiful Pale blue Veil with gorgeous white embroidered flowers for her Texas Ranch Wedding. It truly is exquisite and was a showstopper. I was helping my friend look for veils for her big day and some of the ones we came across at the boutiques were just very plain. I wanted her to have a nice selection to choose from. I browsed around to see what was in the San Fernando Valley and came across Julie Harris Designs. I looked at some of her work and everything was beautiful. We made an appointment to see her and fortunately we were able to meet during this pandemic - masked and with shield of course. Julie's workspace was very nice and welcoming. She is also very accommodating and professional. All of her veils are custom made. My friend was very delighted with her veil. Hopefully one day I'll get to see Julie again for myself or even for another friend looking for that special veil to complete her wedding gown.

Exceptional service and quality! You will get what you wanted, Julie ensures she understands your vision and answers all of your questions in great care and consideration. The package was shipped with my veil very delicately wrapped in tissue paper with lots of small thoughtful and personalized details (like a hand written card). She’s a gem to work with, I highly recommended!
