o cool and not being cake people ourselves we thought this was a great option. Fast forward to 2020 and the pandemic hit so this type of dessert assortment wasn’t something that a lot of people might be comfortable with as it was a grazing table that people would be picking at with their hands. We decided it would be best to go with a cake. When we went to our tasting we were BLOWN away! My husband still says it was his absolute favorite part of the wedding planning process. The cake options are amazing and so so delicious and Julie is just the sweetest person. She even held our son most of the tasting for us so that we could enjoy. Our cake wasn’t only delicious it was a gorgeous monochrome white bow cake. We loved it so much and got so many compliments! We saved our top tier for our one year anniversary but we ended up eating it the day after the wedding because we were too excited! Thank you Julie!!

She had the standard cake flavors, but she also had available more frosting flavors than you could think of! (YUMMM) We had each tier a different flavor and cake combination which our guests loved! The cake tasted AMAZING and everyone at the wedding raved about it! Julie was also so wonderful to work with. Due to COVID, we ended up going from 300 guests, to 55 guests. Julie was so accommodating and we ended up going from sheet cakes to a four tier cake which turned out beautiful! We had some leftover cake to bring home to eat for a week and we even got an anniversary cake that we can't wait to dig into next year! I cannot say enough great things about Julie Michelle Cakes & I cannot wait to order another cake from her!!

We did a vanilla cake with sprinkles & boysenberry buttercream - honestly do die for. Our guests raved about how good it was!! Our guests raved about the beauty and how delicious, we chose each of our favorite flavors....red velvet and a vanilla bean chocolate ganache.....both were tasted and loved! She is able to understand and clarify your vision so that your cake is just what you are hoping for. My wife and I have different tastes in cake. Luckily Julie Michelle could mix and match the different tiers of our wedding cake so there was something for everyone to enjoy (we ended up alternating between carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and almond cake with lemon frosting). Throughout the process of working with Julie Michelle, she was able to understand and help us to clarify our vision, such that it was perfect for our big day. One thing I really like about her social media feed is that you can see the variety of cakes she produces for others. She also has lots of examples of her work on her website. This really made it easier to settle on a particular style and we were able to work through the details from there. One last note about the social media feed. Julie Michelle was posting updates of our very cake leading up to the wedding which made my wife very happy. She even sent the raw footage to my wife following our wedding. A small note on style. My wife loves sprinkles, always has. She wanted a falling sprinkle pattern of different shades of pink. No easy task, though Julie Michelle was able to pull this off masterfully. To our knowledge, this involved some new territory for her and she executed beautifully. We could not have been happier with our cake. Julie Michelle was a joy to work with. She is responsive, enthusiastic, and made us feel good about our big day. One element which made us feel good early on was the complementary tasting. She presented us with a variety of cakes and frostings in her bakery and spent 2 hours with us as we spoke about our vision and savored the varieties of her delicious cakes. Early on, she was able to get a sense of our vision and demonstrate that she could execute on our vision. In closing, I would highly recommend Julie Michelle. We could not have been more pleased with our experience and our beautiful wedding cake.

We got to custom pick out tall those flavors in addition to creating a custom cake. I wanted something grand and different. I was so sick of seeing the white buttercream cake with lines on it at every rustic wedding. Well boy oh boy, Julie sure did listen to me! She created a MASTERPIECE! 6 tier buttercream cake with a different design on every single tier while using my three colors navy, blush, and gold. The moment I saw my wedding cake I started crying because it was so beautiful. We go SO many compliments on the the taste and that it was the best cake our guests have ever had. I am SO over the moon happy we found Julie. She is amazing and I can’t wait to use her for every-time we need a cake. Julie truly is a luxury wedding cake business. Phenomenal cake. She is baker at heart and her work is truly part of her soul; she pours her love of this role, as you will tell, into her every whip and stir. The cake – from cup to sheet – is just scrumptious; her frostings – delectable. And to top it all off, she spins Cotton Candy! For just a few extra hours, including edible glitter, and a variety of flavors, you can rent out her cart – her included – to provide your guests a sugar high that will keep them dancing into the evening. She is simply a gem to interact and conduct business with; and once you start that interaction – you won’t stop….we are headed back there, every year, to her entity, for an anniversary treat that cannot be outdone!

And did I mention she has a cotton candy cart?! We opted for this as our late night bite and it was a huge hit!! Julie showed up later in the evening to spin fresh cotton candy for our guests. She offers a wide range of flavors from margarita lime to pink champagne to blue raspberry, there was something for everyone. It was such a fun touch and everyone loved it, each time I glanced over there was a huge line waiting for her cotton candy. I would HIGHLY recommend Julie!

...and I'm not kidding when I say I contacted just about any and every option in Chicagoland! I did numerous tastings at bakeries when I came into town and had no luck. That all changed when I found Julie Michelle Cakes. I placed the utmost of trust in Julie as I did not have the option to visit her location to do a tasting. After speaking with her, I could tell would bake and create our cake as if it was for her own family event. I knew immediately from her gorgeous creations on her website that she would understand the simple perfection I was looking for. She created the perfect wedding cake with tiers of white rustic buttercream and edible gold foil. We mixed in some fresh florals to add to the simple elegance. The cake was EXACTLY what I had imagined for our wedding -- Julie absolutely nailed the execution. Our cake tasted just as wonderful as it looked too! We had a fresh tasting lemon cake paired with alternating layers of fresh raspberries with buttercream and a champagne buttercream. It was supremely divine!! The looks, the taste...this is what cake dreams are made of. A wedding cake is such a huge tradition and it was very important to me that this be a showpiece that represented my husband and I. Our memory of cake cutting on the dance floor is one of our favorites. I would do it all over again with Julie Michelle Cakes!! I highly, highly recommend Julie Michelle Cakes. r our tasting, I knew that Julie knew what she was doing! Everything was delicious; the cakes were tasteful and moist and the frostings complimented the cakes so well that it was extremely difficult to narrow down our choices. For our wedding cake, we decided to go with a brownie cake since I love brownies more than cake. Julie didn't hesitate or question us when we had our odd request and came up with a beautiful, simple brownie cake for us! Our next request didn't shy her away either; a cupcake station for our guests! Desserts can be overlooked at weddings and we wanted to make sure it was a focal point. Julie manned the cupcake station and created desserts made to our guests liking. For example, a guest could choose between a red velvet cupcake, chocolate cupcake or almond cupcake, then choose their frostings or fillings and add some fruit or chocolate shavings to top it off! The best part was that no desserts were wasted! People were invited for seconds (or in some cases, thirds!) since others were also helping themselves to the brownie tower. Our brownie tower consisted of a variety of brownies, which were all gone by the end of the night! WHAT A HIT! Julie, I can’t thank you enough for creating a memory for all our guests and for baking the most delicious cupcakes for us and our guests! Thank you!
