Our cake was so delicious I had two slices at the wedding. Julie is also just the sweetest!! We loved her style of tasting where it is simply mix and match. It makes for such unique flavor mixtures and a completely customized wedding cake. We had 3 flavors - almond cake with white chocolate and strawberry frosting, chocolate cake with peanut butter and vanilla frosting, and lemon cake with raspberry, pistachio, and champagne frosting. Our little cake was decorated with fresh lavender buds and sprigs - it was beautiful!!! I'm only bummed that we didn't have more left over! I guess we will just have to order cakes from Julie again in the future :)

Julie Michelle was amazing from the start. At the cake tasting she answered all our questions we had in regards to the cake and let us taste as many samples as we needed to to pick what would make our wedding cake taste great. On the day of our wedding she delivered our cake and even helped incorporate our dog on the cake as we had asked her to do. After our Wedding Cake Baker Last minute closed we had to find someone to make our wedding cake and Julie came to the rescue! Julie Michelle has the best cakes easily. We used Julie for our wedding cake. She is very attentive to the details of you and your day. She offers a cake tasting in order to figure out what type of cake and frosting you would like. I would 100% recommend all her flavors however the lemon and almond cake I am biased toward. She has different types of styles for her cakes. Anyone with any type of taste or style will easily be able to find it with Julie. The day of our wedding, everyone enjoyed the cake so much that people had multiple pieces and we did not have any leftovers! We have the top tier of our cake for our one year anniversary and we are beyond excited to have it next year! Pure Perfection! There was never a doubt that Julie Michele Cakes was going to be the vendor for our daughter’s wedding. When we first started looking for vendors, I saw her Instagram and all the videos and posts on it. Is it possible to know that a cake is going to be amazing from videos/posts alone? I think so! Her attention to detail, the assortment of flavors, cake options, and her decorating ability is above and beyond anything I have ever seen and tasted. The wedding cake from her was absolutely the very best! It was delicious and we received so many compliments from our guests. The cake created was four tier of alternating flavors, simply iced and flowers added by Julie that were supplied by our florist. It couldn’t have been more beautiful. If you are planning an event, keep Julie in mind you will not be disappointed!

Julie is amazing! Her level of detail is impeccable. We went for our cake tasting and had so much fun with her and trying all the flavors. We opted for an almond cake with pecan filling on one layer and chocolate cake with peanut butter filling for the other. It was delicious!! So hard to choose between all the mouth watering flavors. We first fell in love with Julie Michelle's amazing designs on her website and knew we wanted to have a beautiful cake for our wedding. Julie and her husband were amazing to work with! The cake tasting was so much fun and we loved being able to create the exact cake that we wanted. We couldn't have been happier with our wedding cake! The design was exactly as we had dreamed and it was sooo yummy!! Julie Michelle is the consummate professional for your event. She was the only wedding vendor that remained steadfast in her service all through Covid, when we planned and re-planned our wedding several times, changing the location, theme and number of guests constantly. She was patient and considerate, when it was a devastating time for a small business (especially large weddings) to remain afloat. She has a wonderful studio for sampling and great ideas on her Instagram, to help you know that she is the right choice. On our actual wedding day, she was the one vendor that quietly and perfectly delivered. We never had to follow-up and that meant a lot for an out-of-town wedding. The cake was so delicious...our only regret is that we never got a piece. Our guests barely left a bite!

I got the dream team of vendors for my lakeside wedding in Delavan Wisconsin. All I can say is if you don't have a Julie Michelle Cake at your wedding, you are missing out! Every single guest made mention of how phenomenal the cake was. We had two different types of cake and they both were amazing!!! I can't wait to eat our cake on our one year anniversary, but we will be getting Julie Michelle Cakes again!!

Julie is simply phenomenal. From the moment we reached out, she was so organized and genuinely excited to help us with our dream cake for our wedding day. I had followed Julie on Instagram for years, and was so excited to finally have the opportunity to work with her. Everyone I have known who has had a wedding in the Lake Geneva area has used her for their cake and raves about how great she is. She set up a tasting with us a few months before the wedding and honestly whatever cake or flavor you choose, you can't go wrong, everything is absolutely incredible! We chose chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and lemon cake with strawberry frosting. We chose the chocolate cake since that is my mother in laws favorite cake. She cannot stop talking about how it is THE best cake she has ever had. The lemon was also incredible and great for a June wedding. Since we got back from our honeymoon, so many people have been asking where we got our wedding cake because they loved it so much! My husband and I have been craving the cake since our wedding day. Julie makes the entire process from finding a cake to the wedding day fun and seamless. I cannot recommend her enough!

Julie was recommended to us by our venue and we could not be happier with our experience. We went in for a tasting with my parents and it was such a fun experience to pick out our cake and icing flavors (she has so many!). The cake was absolutely beautiful and tasted amazing. We met with Julie Michelle several months prior to our wedding to choose our cake flavors and to discuss the design. Not only is her space super cute, but the variety of cake and frosting options were amazing! Julie is incredibly sweet, easy to work with and made the process very seamless for us. She took the time necessary to break down our options and educate us on the amount of cake necessary for our guest count. Needless to say, the cake was a total hit! Julie took our vision for our wedding cake and brought it to life. When I saw it as we walked into the reception hall at The Standard on the day of, I was blown away. It was simple, yet absolutely stunning! I couldn’t recommend Julie enough.

Tasting went smoothly and there were lots of options to choose from. The cake itself was exactly as I wanted and tasted fantastic. Highly recommend.

If you want variety, great flavor, moist cakes, and a decent bang for your buck this is definitely the place you need to get your cake from! The tasting was amazing and we came up with a great combo! The design - she was able to bring to life and it came out perfectly! In conjunction with my florist, it was a perfect finished touch!

Don’t look anywhere else for your cake...Julie is the best!! When we originally hired Julie, we had met her at a bridal expo and she was serving a sampler platter of all different desserts which was a new concept for them. We thought this was so cool and not being cake people ourselves we thought this was a great option. Fast forward to 2020 and the pandemic hit so this type of dessert assortment wasn’t something that a lot of people might be comfortable with as it was a grazing table that people would be picking at with their hands. We decided it would be best to go with a cake. When we went to our tasting we were BLOWN away! My husband still says it was his absolute favorite part of the wedding planning process. The cake options are amazing and so so delicious and Julie is just the sweetest person. She even held our son most of the tasting for us so that we could enjoy. Our cake wasn’t only delicious it was a gorgeous monochrome white bow cake. We loved it so much and got so many compliments! We saved our top tier for our one year anniversary but we ended up eating it the day after the wedding because we were too excited! Thank you Julie!!

Julie is justttt the BEST. She made us the most beautiful wedding cake (and a LOVELY mini cake for our original wedding date after we postponed and I contacted her super last minute asking if I could order one to surprise my fiance with—she didn't even bat an eye and made it for us even though I'm certain she was wildly busy at the time) and we didn't have any left over—everyone RAVED about it. She's also incredibly, incredibly sweet and kind (like I can't even talk about how nice she is—and her husband who works with her!) and was a pleasure to communicate with. Her work speaks for itself. I would highly recommend her to anyone, and I definitely will forever.

The cake was incredible look and taste wise. We had a three tier cake and went for a simple, rustic look. The cake was exactly what we asked for. We were able to choose from 3 different flavors and mix matched flavors and each tier tasted amazing!

Get this cake! Work with this lovely woman! When reviewing wedding vendors I think about 1) the planning/communication process and 2) the final result. Julie was so impressive in both categories! She was always responsive and informative in emails, but she went above and beyond when we had to postpone our wedding due to COVID - when I was worried about finding a new wedding date that worked for all our vendors, Julie told me not to worry - she would ensure I had my cake any date we found! And then on our actual wedding date, our cake looked gorgeous, tasted amazing, and our guests have not stopped raving about it for days! You will not have to worry about a thing but having the best cake around if you hire Julie Michelle :)

I cannot recommend Julie more for your cake! We went for our tasting to her adorable shop, and we fell in love right away. Her cake is DELICIOUS. Nothing else tasted nearly as good as Julie's cakes. We received SO many compliments at our wedding for the cake. A ton of our guests who are self claimed "anti-sweets," ate 2 - 3 pieces each, they loved it that much. Beyond her delicious cake, Julie is also extremely wonderful to work with. She was always very easy to get in contact with, offered us amazing suggestions for cake types and frosting combinations, and was just all around a pleasure. Her and her husband are just all around good people. During COVID Julie made small cakes and sold them for various holidays. We love her and her cake so much that we would drive up from Chicago just to get one of her small cakes. Really, she is amazing! Highly, highly recommend!

Julie did an exceptional job with my cake and cotton candy cart. She had the cutest shop in Harvard, IL where Adam and I were able to taste the cake flavors and discuss our options. At the end of the day, we LOVED how we could customize the different layers/flavors of the cake, and Julie was extremely careful to make sure the cake was made in a nut-free kitchen (due to a guest's severe nut allergy). For the cotton candy, it was a HIT!! Everyone raved about what a sweet treat it was at the end of the night. And I'd be remiss to not mention the edible glitter. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

I would highly recommend Julie Michelle Cakes! We went in for a tasting and completely fell in love!! My now husband is not huge with sweets, so it was hard to convince him or get him excited about cake. When we went in for the tasting, we were both blown away! We got to choose any combination of cake and frosting that we wanted, which was amazing. She had the standard cake flavors, but she also had available more frosting flavors than you could think of! (YUMMM) We had each tier a different flavor and cake combination which our guests loved! The cake tasted AMAZING and everyone at the wedding raved about it! Julie was also so wonderful to work with. Due to COVID, we ended up going from 300 guests, to 55 guests. Julie was so accommodating and we ended up going from sheet cakes to a four tier cake which turned out beautiful! We had some leftover cake to bring home to eat for a week and we even got an anniversary cake that we can't wait to dig into next year! I cannot say enough great things about Julie Michelle Cakes & I cannot wait to order another cake from her!!

I can not say enough good things about Julie Michelle Cakes & the experience we had with them for our wedding. We were married at The Abbey in Lake Geneva in October & planned it all through Covid-times. Julie was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process, from the "dream" to the tasting ((second best day ever)) to the end results on our wedding day. We did a vanilla cake with sprinkles & boysenberry buttercream - honestly do die for. Our guests raved about how good it was!! We ended up eating the top tier slowly the week after the wedding instead of freezing it, it was THAT good. Can't wait to find another excuse to order a cake from them asap. Julie is definitely the best for wedding cakes!! Starting with the amazing cake tasting experience during the pandemic, we knew Julie was the right baker for our wedding cake. Hiring Julie as our wedding dessert/cake vendor was a great decision! She went above and beyond to ensure our guests were well-fed with dessert and also safe at the same time with the given circumstances of the pandemic. Our cake was absolutely amazing and highly recommend the butter pecan cream cheese frosting (YUM!) and she also made individual dessert boxes for our guests to take home with them. It was a fun touch on party favors. Julie was great to work with and also even made a pre-wedding cake for me to gift to my mom to try! Highly recommend!

She makes beautiful and delicious wedding cake. She is an artist and a baker. She is very responsive and easy to work with. She makes you feel comfortable and make you her priority. She is able to understand and clarify your vision so that your cake is just what you are hoping for. My wife and I have different tastes in cake. Luckily Julie Michelle could mix and match the different tiers of our wedding cake so there was something for everyone to enjoy (we ended up alternating between carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and almond cake with lemon frosting). Throughout the process of working with Julie Michelle, she was able to understand and help us to clarify our vision, such that it was perfect for our big day. One thing I really like about her social media feed is that you can see the variety of cakes she produces for others. She also has lots of examples of her work on her website. This really made it easier to settle on a particular style and we were able to work through the details from there. One last note about the social media feed. Julie Michelle was posting updates of our very cake leading up to the wedding which made my wife very happy. She even sent the raw footage to my wife following our wedding. A small note on style. My wife loves sprinkles, always has. She wanted a falling sprinkle pattern of different shades of pink. No easy task, though Julie Michelle was able to pull this off masterfully. To our knowledge, this involved some new territory for her and she executed beautifully. We could not have been happier with our cake. Julie Michelle was a joy to work with. She is responsive, enthusiastic, and made us feel good about our big day. One element which made us feel good early on was the complementary tasting. She presented us with a variety of cakes and frostings in her bakery and spent 2 hours with us as we spoke about our vision and savored the varieties of her delicious cakes. Early on, she was able to get a sense of our vision and demonstrate that she could execute on our vision. In closing, I would highly recommend Julie Michelle. We could not have been more pleased with our experience and our beautiful wedding cake.

There aren’t enough words and stars to say and give to Julie. Julie is hands down the best cake baker and designer I have ever tasted and seen!! My husband and I had so much fun at the tasting in October 2017. We picked our three different flavors of cake. Almond with boysenberry, lemon, and cream cheese. Chocolate with espresso, peanut butter, and Oreo. Red velvet with cream cheese. We got to custom pick out tall those flavors in addition to creating a custom cake. I wanted something grand and different. I was so sick of seeing the white buttercream cake with lines on it at every rustic wedding. Well boy oh boy, Julie sure did listen to me! She created a MASTERPIECE! 6 tier buttercream cake with a different design on every single tier while using my three colors navy, blush, and gold. The moment I saw my wedding cake I started crying because it was so beautiful. We go SO many compliments on the the taste and that it was the best cake our guests have ever had. Not matter what you palate style or partiality, Julie Michelle Cakes has and offers whatever you want, and let me tell you ladies, her baking is Martha Stewart/Barefoot Contessa comparative. She is baker at heart and her work is truly part of her soul; she pours her love of this role, as you will tell, into her every whip and stir. The cake – from cup to sheet – is just scrumptious; her frostings – delectable. And to top it all off, she spins Cotton Candy! For just a few extra hours, including edible glitter, and a variety of flavors, you can rent out her cart – her included – to provide your guests a sugar high that will keep them dancing into the evening. She is simply a gem to interact and conduct business with; and once you start that interaction – you won’t stop….we are headed back there, every year, to her entity, for an anniversary treat that cannot be outdone!

Julie is the most talented and creative wedding cake artist I have ever seen. You can tell there is passion in her heart, and she truly makes you feel like such a special bride! She invited us to a cake tasting, and my husband, family, and I were blown away by how AMAZING her cakes and fillings were. I recently ordered a small wedding/bridal cake for my wedding last week from Julie Michelle Cakes. Not only was it beautiful and extremely yummy but the whole process was so easy. The customer service that Julie provided was excellent having completed the transaction and planning all remotely. This was very much appreciated especially in light of my busy work travel schedule. I cannot possibly describe in words how wonderful it was to work with Julie in planning for our perfect wedding cake. Due to long-distance planning, I was quick to jump into a contract with Julie via telephone to ensure she would be available for our date. She was organized, receptive, professional, and most of all, she shared our excitement and had fun with us throughout the creative process. Our tasting at her beautiful shop blew us away! Her cake and buttercream flavors are unique, but mostly, they're absolutely delicious. We decided on chocolate cake, each slice with three buttercream flavors-- peanut butter, espresso, and champagne! We had multiple guests, including our catering coordinator, tell us it was the best wedding cake they'd ever tasted. And we agree! Lastly, I want to stress how wholeheartedly she throws herself into the design you're envisioning for your day. She has the creative eye and the skillful hands to execute your dream cake!

Julie was a sheer delight to work with at our recent wedding on 5/5/17 at The Abbey Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, WI. From the moment we met her 6 months prior for the cake tasting to the wedding day itself, Julie was always responsive and helpful. I brought a picture of a cake from Pinterest that I loved and Julie made my vision a reality. Let's not forget how incredibly delightful her cakes are to actually eat as well - we chose two flavors of cake and both received wonderful reviews. A huge thanks to Julie for such a positive and lovely experience.

Julie was an absolute delight to work with! My fiance and I fell in love upon meeting her at her adorable studio. She is responsive and organized, and overall a creative and a fun upbeat personality. Our guests RAVED about our vanilla cake with salted caramel and nutella buttercream frosting. The cake was just as beautiful as it was tasty! We wanted a rustic design to match our barn venue and Julie aced it. And did I mention she has a cotton candy cart?! We opted for this as our late night bite and it was a huge hit!! Julie showed up later in the evening to spin fresh cotton candy for our guests. She offers a wide range of flavors from margarita lime to pink champagne to blue raspberry, there was something for everyone. It was such a fun touch and everyone loved it, each time I glanced over there was a huge line waiting for her cotton candy. I would HIGHLY recommend Julie!

We hired Julie to make the cake for our 8/27/16 wedding. I really loved my dress, and asked if she could model the bottom tier of the cake off of the hand made rosettes on the skirt of my dress. They are very detailed and have a unique color. Based on just one or two pictures, she made my cake look exactly like my dress- I couldn't believe it. Literally perfect. It was also absolutely delicious. And to top it off, Julie was great to work with and her shop is ADORABLE.

When it came to finding our wedding cake, I became a total bridezilla. I planned our wedding in Lockport from afar here in Florida and finding a cake was the hardest outstanding task. No one had the care or quality ingredients I was looking for...and I'm not kidding when I say I contacted just about any and every option in Chicagoland! I did numerous tastings at bakeries when I came into town and had no luck. That all changed when I found Julie Michelle Cakes. I placed the utmost of trust in Julie as I did not have the option to visit her location to do a tasting. After speaking with her, I could tell would bake and create our cake as if it was for her own family event. I knew immediately from her gorgeous creations on her website that she would understand the simple perfection I was looking for. She created the perfect wedding cake with tiers of white rustic buttercream and edible gold foil. We mixed in some fresh florals to add to the simple elegance. The cake was EXACTLY what I had imagined for our wedding -- Julie absolutely nailed the execution. Our cake tasted just as wonderful as it looked too! We had a fresh tasting lemon cake paired with alternating layers of fresh raspberries with buttercream and a champagne buttercream. It was supremely divine!! The looks, the taste...this is what cake dreams are made of. A wedding cake is such a huge tradition and it was very important to me that this be a showpiece that represented my husband and I. Our memory of cake cutting on the dance floor is one of our favorites. I would do it all over again with Julie Michelle Cakes!! I highly, highly recommend Julie Michelle Cakes. She provides a personal touch that you certainly can't find just anywhere -- and that is priceless.

Julie was absolutely fabulous! Her studio is so cute and her cakes are insanely tasty. This is coming from a girl who doesn't even like cake. I would eat her cake every night if i could! Everyone kept asking what the flavors of the cake were and were dying to know who made the beautiful cake. Julie was so nice and always prompt at responding to requests. We loved her and will continue to use her for any reason we can!

YUM! Julie Michelle Cakes was our vendor for our wedding on October 11, 2014. My husband and I got married at the Maxwell Mansion in Lake Geneva, WI and were looking for something different to impress our guests. I LOVE desserts and after our tasting, I knew that Julie knew what she was doing! Everything was delicious; the cakes were tasteful and moist and the frostings complimented the cakes so well that it was extremely difficult to narrow down our choices. For our wedding cake, we decided to go with a brownie cake since I love brownies more than cake. Julie didn't hesitate or question us when we had our odd request and came up with a beautiful, simple brownie cake for us! Our next request didn't shy her away either; a cupcake station for our guests! Desserts can be overlooked at weddings and we wanted to make sure it was a focal point. Julie manned the cupcake station and created desserts made to our guests liking. For example, a guest could choose between a red velvet cupcake, chocolate cupcake or almond cupcake, then choose their frostings or fillings and add some fruit or chocolate shavings to top it off! The best part was that no desserts were wasted! People were invited for seconds (or in some cases, thirds!) since others were also helping themselves to the brownie tower. Our brownie tower consisted of a variety of brownies, which were all gone by the end of the night! WHAT A HIT! Julie, I can’t thank you enough for creating a memory for all our guests and for baking the most delicious cupcakes for us and our guests! Thank you!
