Juniper Spring Photography delivered exactly what we needed & wanted for our local SF wedding, and much much more. Liza’s work is stunning and extremely impressive, we’ve never seen anything like it or close to for weddings/personal events. She’s so brilliant and her skill sets will fit any vision you have. Just check out her IG/portfolio on her website. We’ve never had professional pictures taken and Liza made us feel so comfortable. She did our close friends’ wedding up in Napa and that’s where we first fell in love with her and her work. She is also flexible, considerate, and had great $ packages, and we never felt scammed or like we overpaid. Truthfully we probably underpaid for the time & work she delivered. Liza even voluntarily scoped out our venue and surrounding areas to get the best options for our first look, wedding pics & lighting.

This review is super overdue, but Liza in short, is amazing. I first found her on Here Comes the Guide, as I was doing my research. As I looked through her portfolio on her website, her skill at photography brings out the joy and uniqueness of each couple/ or person in each of the sessions and life events that she has done (her engagement, wedding, water boudoir, and maternity shoots). Her photos kept calling to me and when I saw the photo she took of a couple riding on their bike through the grass, I knew I wanted her to be my photographer. I reached out to her, the beginning was awkward as most relationships are (as it's intimidating to be photographed) but working with her has been wonderful as she made me feel at ease by walking me through what she does and her work style. She's super professional, punctual, and answered all the questions and concerns I had regarding the style of our wedding, the types of photos we wanted, and timing. She was also flexible and customized the package we booked. As I was struggling through the other nuances of planning, she gave me recommendations to help me find my make-up artist (Beautiful One Makeup), and wedding coordinator (Lidia at Cotton + Oak) who I absolutely loved. An engagement shoot was included with our package, which allowed us to meet Liza in person and become comfortable with her. She put in time to research the locations of the engagement shoot and wedding, which allowed us to find some gorgeous spots to take photos. For example, she suggested a hill to take photos on that was not on the pathway. I took off my shoes, climbed up the hill with my husband and she captured one of my favorite photos from our engagement shoot. During the wedding, she captured intimate parts of our day that I hadn't even realized happened or did not remember. Looking back at my photos even a year later, it still feels magical. We honestly could not have found a better person to help us capture the day and cannot recommend her enough! Thank you so much Liza (and Hok, who was the second photographer during our wedding)!

Liza was a joy to work with and we are so grateful for her professionalism, skill, etc! We chose her because she photographed our friend’s wedding and she did an amazing job! And believe me, we shopped around A LOT! From the beginning we were confident that she was going to do a great job, which took one less pound of stress off our plate. Liza is the real deal. Her technical skill is top notch. Situations that may have been difficult (dim church w/ restrictions on where the photographer can be, non-ideal dancefloor lighting, etc) were not an issue. Our photos were as bright and natural looking as the day itself, maybe even better  Technical skill aside, she has an eye for the details and the moments that really make the day, and this is what we love the most about our wedding photos. We look at them and feel like we are re-living our wedding. My husband and I were extremely nervous to do photos and my husband was even resistant, but just a few minutes into our engagement show we were not only comfortable, but having tons of fun! Liza’s communication is excellent. She communicated things well in advance, sent us reminders, answered all our questions clearly, and was proactive about checking-in if she had any questions. She was very open to ideas and brainstormed with us (e.g. my husband and I didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony but for logistical reasons we wanted to take portraits beforehand, so we were brainstorming “no-look” first look ideas with her!). She was very flexible and accommodating. She was open to travelling outside of the Bay Area for our engagement photos, and though our wedding-day timeline was a bit tight in some places, Liza was on top of it and captured everything we wanted. We cannot write enough praise for Liza. Take a look at her portfolio and it is a perfect representation of her work, you will NOT be disappointed. We’ve gotten so many compliments on her photos. On top of all this, Liza is a great person whom you will be happy to have around. We recommend her with enthusiasm to anyone, whether it be for a wedding, family photos, portraits, etc.

Choosing Liza as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made! From the engagement shoot to the big day, everything was perfect! I’m a little shy, so it’s kinda weird having someone taking pictures of me all the time, and she was the best. She made us feel comfortable and at ease, and she was never imposing. The pictures are beautiful, very candid and natural, and she has a great sense of the attitude of the group she’s photographing, capturing amazing details and key moments. She’s very easy to get a hold of and to talk to, and it was great having someone so professional and easy going in such a stressful and important time. Thank you so much for your amazing work!

We are incredibly happy that we chose Juniper Spring Photography for our wedding. I met her after work and I felt instantly comfortable. Liza and Eric were wonderful and they both made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. Both of them were easy to work with at the wedding. They worked very well with our cinematographers from Inspired By Studio and we had so much with everyone. They really captured the day and how we felt that day. When my aunt suddenly passed away, Liza sent us pictures of my aunt and her family at the wedding. Liza also contacted our cinematographers and they sent us a beautiful video. We are so grateful for everything that she has done. We love our pictures and we highly recommend her.

Please choose Liza as your photographer, you will not regret it!! We chose to do a national park elopement, so very intimate because we only had a few people present. We wanted a photographer who would make the day more special because of that. Liza was absolutely perfect, she is the sweetest person and we had so much fun running around Yosemite with her! The pictures came out beautifully and we can not thank her enough for capturing our special day so perfectly!!

Liza is an amazing photographer and you should work with her if you want someone to capture emotions in picture-form for your special day! She took photos of our San Francisco City Hall elopement and our wedding reception at Stern Grove and we have been ecstatic with how our photos turned out. We both are pretty awkward when asked to pose, but we didn't really have to pose at all - all our photos were taken in the moment, and we love every single shot. Liza is also a very warm and friendly person, and very punctual and reliable. She knows what she's doing, and you can trust her to provide as much guidance (or as little) as you want. She respected our wishlist of shots for the elopement, and for the reception, we gave her a very vague description of what we wanted and she was able to deliver exactly what we wanted. We are so happy we went with Liza!!!

Working with Liza was such a treat! We were absolutely blown away with the photos she and her team took of our big day. I particularly love how she was able to capture every little moment that others may have missed. Liza works closely with you throughout the whole process to ensure you get everything you want, and to make sure all the details are worked out. The photo albums she provides are also so beautiful. Choosing Liza as our engagement and wedding photographer was the best decision (other than saying "I do") we have made! The things that were most important for us was that our photographer captured candid moments, has natural-looking editing, calm under stress, unobtrusive, and got along with us and our wedding guests. Liza was all of that and more! Engagement Photoshoot: I gave Liza some sample photos of the type of shots we wanted to take as well as the (fairly rugged, steep, mountainous) location and she was just as excited as we were! We hiked, we laughed, we ran, and we chased the best sunlight and came out with the most incredible photos I've seen. They're even better than the sample photos I had dreamed of having! With the landscape, sun lighting, and Liza's guidance with posing and positioning, these pictures are unbelievably beautiful. Wedding: We had a fairly unusual wedding in which it was a 3 day destination wedding in snow, inclement weather, and potentially a logistical nightmare with several contingent plans. Liza was thorough and responsive in terms of preparation and guiding us through what she needed to be successful as well as things we needed to decide ourselves. She has a great balance between understanding what decisions need to be set, and what can be flexible day-of, which comes from her extensive experience and incredible skill. We never had to stress, worry, or even think about our pictures weekend of because we knew Liza had everything covered and that if she had any questions, she'd ask. It was great having a photographer that was collaborative and willing to try new things (like shooting while being pelted by ice and wind). All of our guests (and even the one that complains about everything) had wonderful things to say about Liza, her husband who was her awesome assistant, and her photographs. Besides taking great pictures and capturing emotions and memories, Liza is an incredible human. She is fun, hardworking, kind, professional, creative, and we now consider her and her husband friends of ours.

Liza is awesome! You probably won't find a more talented, passionate, and fun person to photograph your wedding. One of our biggest concerns for a wedding photographer was us feeling comfortable around them to avoid those awkward photos. After spending two days with Liza shooting us she honestly felt like a friend we would want to hangout with. The quality of our wedding and rehearsal dinner photos were amazing. Her documentary style is exactly what we were looking for, and she captured so many amazing moments we never noticed ourselves. She also helped wrangle our gigantic family for various photos right after the wedding, which was a lifesaver. Liza did an amazing job with our wedding and we cannot recommend her enough!

I sat down for like 30 minutes trying to figure out how to condense what I had to say within the character limit, but I'll do my best I had no idea what to look for in a photographer. Luckily my wife knew how to narrow our options down. I decided I liked the photojournalistic style the best and after reviewing some portfolios, we landed on Juniper Spring Photography. I was pretty shocked at how much time and energy Liza puts in to get to know her couples. Unfortunately for other photographers, she has set the bar to an almost unobtainable level. I actually wasn't exactly sold on the engagement session that she includes with all her packages, but with the experience we had with her on our wedding day, and with reviewing the gallery afterward I admit that she was completely right to insist on doing it haha. She got some amazing shots of our wedding and the details and really delivered on the look and feel we were going for with our photos. Liza is extremely professional and hard working. By the end of the night, we could see that she completely wore herself out running to get the perfect framing and lighting. Also, she has a crazy good network of second shooter friends. Hok did an incredible job with all my groom stuff while Liza was shooting my wife's prep. Anyway, my wife's point of view was that when you are budgeting your wedding and you are trying to decide where to splurge and where to cut, definitely put your money into your photos with Liza. Whatever you end up paying, the product she delivers for you in return is priceless. We both want to thank Liza for her incredibly hard work and tireless effort. We absolutely love our photos!

I cannot express how happy I am that me and my husband went with Juniper Spring Photography! Liza Head was absolutely amazing and we loved her! She’s very professional, friendly, reliable, on time, and very efficient. Liza is an absolutely amazing photographer! When you look at her portfolio, you can instantly see her high level of skill and the care she takes with all of her photography. She knows how to tell the story of your special day with her photos and she is a pleasure to work with. Liza was absolutely perfect. She communicated wonderfully before the wedding, including listening to our preferences but still giving great advice, and made herself available to answer any and all of our questions. As she had not shot a wedding at our location (Wildwood Acres), Liza even made the effort to drive to our location and meet us at the rehearsal, to get a first look before the day of the wedding. On the big day, Liza was there early and was set up and ready to go as soon as we were able to access the venue and begin taking our posed photos. She guided us while still letting our personalities be present in the photos. We were also fortunate to have one of Liza’s colleagues, Rachel, come and she also did a great job as a second shooter, with many great candid and detail shots. Liza turned around a sneak peek and blog post very quickly after the wedding, and then provided a complete album with over 800 photos! Every moment was captured, and the photos were beautiful. The mixture of candid, posed, landscape, and detail photos really made us feel like we could look back on all of the different parts of the wedding without missing a thing. We have nothing but great things to say about Liza and would recommend her to anyone getting married in the Bay Area, she was fantastic!

I highly recommend Liza (Juniper Spring Photographer) as a wedding photographer after our experience with her shooting our engagement and wedding photos this spring. She surpassed all expectations I had for our photos. She was by far our best vendor. When I initially reached out, I didn't have a good sense of what I wanted, but I had seen her website and loved how the couples she photographer looked natural and happy. She also does amazing work in nature and given we were getting married in a redwood grove, this was important to us. Her photos weren't the standard cliche shots that other wedding photographers take. She captured feelings and memories. We met with her (and several other photographers) about 8 months before our wedding and we just clicked with her. She made us feel comfortable, which is really important as that person will be with you for your wedding day! She is a true artist who captures emotions you didn't even remember you had on your big day, but she saw and made it look beautiful. She also is super relaxed and fun so made the experience really enjoyable for us. Organization and planning are also her strengths, which was great to take the pressure off of knowing what we needed to do to prep for photos before our big day. She sent us a survey before our wedding to detail who we wanted photographs with and then created a timeline based on what we wanted. We had so much fun with her day of. I highly recommend doing engagement photos too so you get a sense of how to work together and can be more relaxed on your wedding day. I highly recommend Liza for wedding and engagement photographs. You will be so impressed and can just enjoy your day!

What a gem! Juniper Spring Photography truly captured our wedding day's best and most fun moments! Highly recommend. She was so much fun to work with and really took the time to find out what kind of photos we wanted to cherish. I really think she made my camera shy husband comfortable on 'the big day' and actually got some really great photos of him! Great artistic eye! Would love to work with her again.

I can't imagine having a better experience with a wedding photographer than we had with Liza and her crew. From the very beginning, she listened so well to us and made sure she knew exactly what we were looking for. (No cheesy poses; focus on capturing the mood and how the guests were feeling.) She was also incredibly organized and thorough - she not only asked things like which group shots we wanted, but also made sure she knew which part of the wedding we were most excited for and whether there were sensitive family situations. She took a whole day to tour locations with us, which was incredibly helpful because she correctly anticipated some difficult lighting and was able to plan around it. And, on the day of, she absolutely nailed it and captured everything we wanted and more. Seriously, her pictures are phenomenal - she has such a gift. She got them to us quickly, and the full-size pictures were all hosted online, meaning they were super easy to share with our family and friends. Finally, did I mention that Liza is a wonderful person? She is disarmingly friendly and clearly loves what she does. She brought a fun and calming presence to our day, and was great about letting us enjoy our party AND also finding good moments to pull us away for quick portraits that we're so glad we did. Seriously the best wedding vendor we worked with! We are recommending Liza to everyone we know, and can't wait to continue shooting photos with her for years to come.

I wish I could give Liza ten times more stars than The Knot allows. Liza (Juniper Spring Photography) was our photographer for our engagement photos and wedding in May. We were nervous before our engagement photos because we never felt that comfortable in front of the camera but Liza instantly made us feel at ease. She made me feel so comfortable that day that I even ended up doing some water boudoir photos with her that turned out amazing! During the day of our wedding I can't explain enough how awesome she was. If I was feeling nervous at any moment or anxious about things going right, she made me feel at ease without even having to say anything. Sometimes just even a look from her made me feel like she was my closest friend on that day. Liza has such an artistic eye and a crazy good ability to capture such beautiful moments. I will forever be thankful that we chose Liza to photograph these moments in our lives and I will most likely plan to call her again for some other occasion!

Liza was a fantastic addition to our ceremony - she wasn't just our photographer, she laughed with us and clicked shots off that captured how much of a good time we were having, just as natural as you please. Without much lead time, she asked us questions and got to know our energy as a couple so that when we finally met in person it was like we weren't really strangers at all. She was so easy to work with, and when we got our wedding pictures we truly couldn't have been more pleased and excited. Liza's husband is a long-time family friend, and I have been following her amazing photography for many years, so I knew when we got engaged that I wanted her to photograph our wedding. Still, knowing how talented and skilled she is did not prepare me for how absolutely thrilled I was with the photographs, as well as her professionalism and poise on our big day. Liza is both an incredible photographer and an incredible human being! She's truly passionate about her work and her clients and it shows in every photograph! Her style was exactly what we were looking for when we were searching for a wedding photographer (artful, natural, candid, playful, not stuffy or posed) and she could not have been easier or more pleasant to work with. We LOVE our beautiful photographs and we will cherish them for the rest of our lives!

Liza is an incredible photographer. She took excellent photos of our wedding. She didn't leave out any family members and she always seemed to appear as if by magic at the most important moments. Just judging on a photography scale, Liza is an excellent choice for any event you need photographed. But that's not all that Liza is great at. My wife and I both appreciated how comfortable we felt working with her. Neither of us really takes a lot of photos nor do we love posing but Liza is just such a great person. If you're looking for a photographer who captures special moments in time and genuine emotion, then you want Liza. We hired Liza/JSP for our engagement shoot and wedding and couldn't be happier. Her photojournalistic style is exactly what we were looking for, and our photos turned our wonderful. Liza was easy to work with and went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with our album (we are!). We highly recommend her services.

I feel beyond lucky to have found Juniper Spring! My now husband and I had a consult with a photographer that gave us a minimum estimate of $10k. I nearly died. The knot sent out an email about local photographers. Juniper Spring was one of them. I checked out her website and loved her style. We met with Liza and immediately knew she was our photographer. She was so easy to work with. She responded quickly when there were questions or requests. I even booked a glamor shoot with her as a wedding gift for my husband. Liza really went above and beyond for us. She made a Christmas ornament for my husband and I. We were so surprised! Her service and products are top notch.

I knew that my wedding day was going to fly by and I wasn't going to remember most of it. I also knew that it was going to be the one opportunity every five years or so that my entire family gets to be together, since my family is spread over three different countries. So the photos were the most important part of the whole process for me. I didn't meet Liza until two days before the wedding, but I felt like I had been friends with her for years. All our communication prior to the event was through e-mail. But we talked so much that I was more comfortable with her than I was with many of my soon-to-be in-laws. The six months before, she responded to every question I had extremely thoroughly and almost immediately. She had me fill out a survey detailing what I wanted, what aspects and people were important to me, and even any potentially touchy issues that she should be aware of. The resulting photos not only blew me away, but they blew away my entire family, bridal party, and all our friends. I'm still getting constant messages from everyone who sees the photos telling me how beautiful they are. Literally they won't stop. I cried when I saw my wedding photos for the first time. It was as if Liza had known me and my husband our entire lives, knew exactly what mattered to us most, the intricacies of every relationship we have with each family member and friend and was able to capture a lifetime of love and craziness and emotion that I didn't even realize was there. I can't explain it sufficiently, but I'll just say that I have literally 40 picture frames waiting for my prints (ok, maybe only 38).... And I don't think that will be enough. I'm a little stressed out about trying to narrow it down. They're all so amazing!!!! Liza didn't provide a service; she provided such a huge blessing. I've already thanked her a million times, but thank you again so much. You really made my wedding.

I'm so happy we chose Liza to photograph our wedding day! As a photographer myself, it was a decision that I definitely mulled over. Ultimately, we wanted someone with a colorful, candid and fun photographic style. We wanted lots of candids and portraits that felt true to our personalities--. I know Liza because we are both Bay Area photographers, and I wouldn't have chosen anyone else to cover our elopement. She met up with us, we talked about our concerns and what we wanted to look like, and boy did she deliver! We're just a couple of goofy people, and while we can get lovey-dovey, she knew that me making faces, and him glaring at me... As unromantic as that is, she knew it was important to us to capture that side of our daily relationship as well, and we love them to bits. Liza and Juniper Spring Photography did an excellent job photographing our wedding. We love our pictures, we love how Liza captured our natural moods and expressions without asking us to pose for formal portraits. She was there for every key moment, though never in the way of the festivities. I don't even know how she captured some of those pictures! She was everywhere at once. We'll be using for her family and other shoots as well.

We loved Liza! My husband and I went for our honeymoon in Europe and so many times we said "I wish Liza was here with us to take more pictures. We should have brought her with us!" Liza took our engagement photos and they turned out BEAUTIFULLY.
