While our wedding venue/catering came with a station of bite sized desserts, we also wanted a cake for the symbolic cake-cutting moment. Because this was an additional dessert, we wanted a two-tier, relatively simple buttercream design that gave an extra punch of flavor. And Yvonne at Juniper Sweet Treats got it just right!
We did a tasting with Yvonne about 1.5 months ahead of our wedding date. Yvonne hand delivered a set of cupcakes with our chosen flavors to try: coconut, lemon, and salted caramel (along with some homemade fillings). All of the cakes and Swiss Meringue buttercreams were delicious and what we loved most was that they tasted homemade. It really scratched the sweet tooth itch without being overwhelmingly sweet. We decided to go with the coconut cake, coconut buttercream, and a mango fruit filling and couldn’t have been happier with the result on the day. You could tell that the cake was still fresh, unlike when you order from some larger bakeries that keep orders in the fridge for a few days.
For the design, we shared a few photos of simple patterned white buttercream cakes with Yvonne for inspiration and she gave us exactly what we wanted. We bought a few pops of flowers from our florist that matched our bouquets and Yvonne placed them beautifully on the cake when she delivered it.
Overall an incredible experience working with Yvonne and we couldn’t recommend her more highly for other couples getting married in the DC area and wanting a great tasting and affordably priced cake. She is a pleasure to work with.
I will 100% recommend Juniper Sweet Treats to anyone. Yvonne was a pleasure to work with. The flavors for the cupcakes and cake were so rich and decadent, on top of being beautifully decorated. We and our guests loved them. The experience was perfect and her treats made the evening even more magical for us. Thank you Yvonne!
I wasn't sure if I wanted a cake at first but at the last minute decided I did want one. I was specifically trying to find someone who could make a rum cake- wedding cake that matched our theme and decor. We were able to find this amazing company, do a tasting, and figure out the design and details without missing a beat. She also delivered the cake to our venue! Absolutely amazing experience all around! 10/10 recommendation...we truly lucked out with Juniper!

Hands down best red velvet cake I've tasted. Yvonne was extremely responsive and helpful when it came to choosing a design and flavor for my wedding cake. I ended up going with a simple 10" cake, red velvet with cream cheese frosting. It was absolutely beautiful and so delicious. I honestly thought all red velvet tasted the same but this was next level. Thank you so much!
We feel very lucky to have found Juniper Sweet Treats for our wedding cake. Right from the start, Yvonne went above and beyond. Due to the pandemic, we were unable to do a tasting in person. Yvonne delivered treats to our door for us to try (complete with palette cleansers and Mr & Mrs cups). Even though we were tasting from home, she found a way to make an amazing experience for us. I must also add that her cakes are the by far the best we have tasted! While they are beautiful and professional, they have a home baked taste to them.
Yvonne communicated with us every step of the way during the wedding planning process to ensure our cake was exactly what we envisioned. She is extremely detail oriented and organized! When I first saw our cake, it was so beautiful that it brought tears to my eyes. It was exactly what we envisioned, except even better!

The cake was INCREDIBLE! From start to finish Yvonne was a delight to work with. She designed our wedding cake from a few reference photos, and her work was above and beyond -- more beautiful than we could have imagined!
Not only that, but the taste was DIVINE! Juniper Sweet Treats makes the most moist, delicious, and stunning cakes. Guests said it was the best wedding cake they had ever tried.

We can't recommend Juniper Sweet Treats enough. We had an idea for a wedding cake and they were able to perfect it. Not only did it look beautiful, it tasted absolutely delicious and we are still eating it everyday since. Thank you so much for helping make our special day perfect!
Juniper Sweet Treats designed my wedding cake for my Fall wedding almost two years ago. All of our guests raved about how beautiful our cake looked and how delicious it tasted. Yvonne, the owner listened to what I envisioned the cake to look and taste like and executed it beyond my expectations. We saved our top tier for our one year anniversary and my husband ate the ENTIRE tier by himself. I have since entrusted Yvonne to bake for other milestones and celebrations for my family.
The owner, Renee, is the consummate professional. My daughter, Sakile's Wedding occurred on April 3, 2020 during the height of Covid 19 and State shutdowns. We called Juniper Sweets and in 2 days this delicious, gorgeous Wedding Cake arrived at my doorstep. The cake was so moist and icing was perfect. We were all pleased. I will definitely use Juniper Sweets again and refer to my friends, family, and business associates.

Absolute a pleasure and most importantly a stressless and professional process working with Juniper Sweet Treats. I appreciate an owner of a business taking the time to talk to me on multiple occasions to make sure every detail was perfect and met my expectation. I have tasted plenty of wedding cakes that look great and taste so so, not my cake. My cake was stunning and tasted so good. You could actually taste the butter and the vanilla, all things you sometimes you will not taste with bakeries that mass produce cake layers. I am now a loyal repeat customer for all events needing a cake.
Best cake ever! Our guests could NOT stop raving about how delicious our beautiful wedding cake was. I was so happy we decided to save the top tier for our anniversary, but it didn't make it. WE ATE THE TOP TIER. It was so good. The cake design was exactly what I asked for. Yvonne brought my vision to reality. Can't wait for her to make our anniversary cake (since we no longer have a top tier). :-)
