Just A Song DJ

We booked this DJ because I didnt want a DJ who would talk all night and dance with our guests and his bio sounded perfect. He has a great website that you can pick out songs you want played at your event and my now husband spent hours laying out all the songs he wanted for our cocktail hour, intros of the bridal party, dinner, and ALL the songs we wanted to dance to later. It was a long night but he had fun and we couldn't wait to see how Keith mixed all our songs up! We talked on the phone a lot and keith did a great job going to our venue where he hadn't been before to scope it out. HOWEVER, on the day of our wedding so much went wrong! Despite writing out every name to be introduced, (mind you we recorded them for him too at his request) he messed most of them up, butchered the names, called some twice and forgot the brides brother completely! Before I had a meltdown the wedding coordinator had to have a talk with him. Our first dance went off without a hitch, and dinner music was ok. But during dinner he forgot speeches and then sat down for such a long dinner one of the bridal party had to approach about moving on from dinner. Then when the dancing started I have no idea what happened but none of the music my husband picked out was played abd when our grromsmen tried to request the grooms favorite song DJ gave him an attitude. To top it off the speakers blew in thr middle of the dancing and we had 20 minutes of complete silence in the middle of the reception!!! I would not ever recommend him to anyone i was so embarrassed about his performance. Luckily my family and friends danced with me anyway when he finally played some of the songs my husband picked out and we were able to enjoy ourselves, but to say that he almost ruined our reception is not an exaggeration!

Keith provided an excellent wedding experience for our guests. By and large he played songs we had requested in a near seamless presentation. Our guests spent much of the time on the dance floor enjoying themselves and the music. There were several unfortunate mistakes made that we feel the need to mention as they created some tension that ran in the back of our heads during the wedding and were noticeable to those closest to us. The worst of which was mixing up the names of our best man and maid of honor. While similar (Cody and Kori), we had pre-recorded these for Keith as requested but he mixed up their names during their speeches, even with some audible groans and corrections from family members. An additional name or two was mis-pronounced or missed altogether as the bridal party was introduced into our reception hall despite the pre-recorded list we had provided. About a week in advance we had also provided Keith with information to announce shuttle pick-up times for our guests which he did not make until we personally prompted him 10 minutes after the first shuttle was originally scheduled. The others were not announced. This created some stress as we had to step back a bit from enjoying ourselves to try to ensure guests were notified of the transportation back to our hotel. Keith had an impressive music selection system which we enjoyed creating our playlists with. Understandably with guest music requests and the general passage of time we didn't get through all songs that we would have liked, but some songs from our "must-play" list were absent while other songs from our lower priority list were played. There also were some mistakes during important requested songs (no song played during bouquet toss, wrong song dedicated to our college friends), despite entering these into his system. We commend Keith for entertaining us and our guests and would still make a recommendation of his services. We hope that our feedback is simply taken into account by him and future couples to address these issues to avoid similar problems in the future.

Keith made our wedding reception amazing. He was on point and played music that kept everyone dancing and having fun all night long. His lighting and setup was beautiful and made the room glow! He took to heart our do not play list and how we wanted the night to go. He was able to feel the room and play the right songs all night long. I would highly recommend him and his services.

Keith was the perfect DJ for our wedding! My husband and I appreciated Keith because he wasn't over-the-top, loud, and boisterous like other DJs we met with. Keith is very professional and takes his DJ services seriously. We were able to customize the music to our liking, which was important because we have some interesting taste! We were also planning our wedding long distance, but Keith was very flexible with our circumstance and worked around our schedule. Keith, thank you for making our wedding day extra fun!

Keith is a truly talented DJ who approaches every event with professionalism and passion. He takes the time to work with the bride and groom to develop their desired playlist, which he then masterfully arranges and executes throughout the event. Keith knows just how to use the music to turn up the energy of the crowd and he has impeccable taste. He is also an excellent resource for general wedding planning advice based on his years of experience. One would be hard-pressed to find a better person to play their event.

Working with Keith was one of the easiest and most enjoyable experiences we had during our wedding planning. We got married at a brewery at the end of September, and Keith worked with us from start to finish as we figured out how the night was going to go. His implementation of a Client Site made the experience much more personalized, which we loved. Apart from being an absolutely phenomenal DJ, his professionalism, positive attitude, and relaxed demeanor got us through the most stressful parts of wedding planning. I highly recommend Keith Lobdell for any wedding or special occassion.

Keith was a pleasure to work with and we had a fantastic experience. He was thorough, organized and super communicative with us before the wedding, but most importantly, handled everything like a pro at the wedding and didn't ask me a single question (which for me is pretty key in a wedding DJ!) He was very professional and polite with our guests and rolled easily with lots of last minute schedule and timing changes due to weather and other hiccups. I would highly recommend Keith to anyone who is looking for a seasoned pro to help them MC and DJ their wedding day. I would say that I would use him again, but I don't plan on having any more weddings!!

Keith was great and provided just what we were looking for. Ahead of time: Organization: Keith was always on top of the details Communication: he was happy to meet with us a couple of times in person on site leading up to the wedding. He listened to us and understood what kind of tone we wanted set that day. Day of: Delivered as planned! The lighting, song selection and order of the evening came off without a hitch. Keith rolled with a couple of minor last minute changes without batting an eye. We wanted Keith to provide the entertainment, not BE the entertainment. He did just that. He kept the evening on track and running smoothly without being in the spotlight. Perfect balance.

I couldn’t recommend Just A Song DJ more! Choosing DJ Keith was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. First of all, my husband and I are the first out of all of our friend groups to get married. Because of this, we were pretty lost in a lot of wedding planning and didn’t have many people to bounce ideas of off. A lot of our resources were online articles and forums. We also were planning and paying for the entire wedding ourselves from Los Angeles which was all very daunting. Keith never made us feel dumb. He knew all the right questions to ask plus he knew when to step in and give suggestions without going overboard or inserting himself. He was instrumental when setting up our timeline. Additionally, when I hadn’t filled out the client site a week and a half before the wedding, he was able to push me to get this done without making me feel stressed or behind. Second, when I asked him about an obscure cover to play during my bridal party's walk down the isle, he found it within a few hours (or faster) and added it to his client site (which was extremely user friendly). Third, I asked my older brother to play guitar and sing a Sara Barielles cover for our first dance song and Keith got him set up with equipment, as well as coordinated with him to make sure he had some time to rehearse in between the ceremony and the reception. He worked directly with our venue a few times, as well as met us at the venue on a rainy Friday to do a walk through with us. This was important to me, as we were planning a CT wedding from Los Angeles. Wow.. haven’t even gotten to the reception. We were running behind and only had a limited time to dance but he made sure to curate a great mix of songs on my “must play list” and the dance floor was a blast. We couldn’t be happier we chose Just a Song, and we know you will feel the same!

Keith provided music and lighting for our wedding reception and was a delight to work with. We had debated whether to hire a band, but we had both excellent and disappointing experiences with live bands. Selecting Keith as our DJ turned out to be the perfect decision. Keith was pleased to work with us on our "play list" which needed to be tailored to a diverse group of guests. He honored everything we wanted, including an early start,and then an ever increasing vibe from the start of the dancing before the dinner to the night's end. He has a real knack for reading the crowd and got everyone out on the dance floor! We all seemed to become more energized as the night went on, thanks to Keith's talent. Many of our guests said that although they were usually reluctant to dance, Keith got them out on the floor and kept the momentum. Everything we wanted. He is a real professional.

Keith did a great job at our wedding! From our first call to our last he was nothing but professional. He adapted when a few last minute things changed, and was able to get us any song we were looking for! Despite working with a less than helpful venue staff, keith was incredible and had our reception going flawlessly. He wasn't overbearing and let the music flow. He made sure to make the points we wanted made, with certain songs we requested for special dances which was great! The lighting he brings along also added a very special touch to our reception, which our guests raved about. We are very appreciative of all the hard work keith put in to make our special day amazing!

Keith was great! He was amazingly easy to work with from first contact through our magical day. We were looking for a DJ that would actually listen to what we wanted and Keith was totally responsive. We highly recommend Keith Lobdell of “Just A Song DJ” out of Easton, CT. Throughout our wedding planning Keith was polite and professional. He was flexible in conducting phone conference calls at times that met our schedule needs. He took the time to meet for an in-person venue site visit, to review equipment needs and sound quality. His online music database was easy to use, and it helped us to organize our song preference list, and sequence of events for the evening. Keith confirmed the precise song versions we wanted prior to our event, as well as the correct pronunciation of our wedding party names. On the day of our wedding he was set up and ready to go by the time guests arrived, and he honored our various music preferences. He spent minimal time on the mic, and allowed the evening to naturally unfold. Keith read our guests, and played songs seamlessly to get everyone having a great time. We received so many compliments that the music and dancing was the absolute best! When the final song of the evening concluded, our guests started singing acapella style to ask for one more song. Keith found that particular song in his music database and played it, really bringing down the house and making our wedding reception one we will always remember and cherish!

We highly recommend DJ Keith Lobdell of Just One Song Entertainment for any wedding or special occasion! My husband and I got married outside in my parent’s back yard, under a tent, in Old Saybrook, Connecticut in June of 2016. Between the music, dancing, and classy MCing, DJ Keith made the ambiance of the night perfect. His easy to use online system allows users to pick out just about any song you can think of, and add it to the playlist. The user friendly system also allows you to categorized songs by “must play” or “play if you can”, which provides flexibility and allows him to play whatever fits the mood. The system also automatically tells you how many total hours of music the playlist will fill. If its not in his system, no problem – DJ Keith was able to find and include all of our requests. As my husband is Colombian, half of the invitees were Latinos –with a love for salsa and tropical music. We thought it may be challenging to find a DJ that was able to juggle Spanish and English music, but DJ Keith stepped to the challenge and surpassed our expectations. We asked him to start with English and progressively work toward Spanish; and we asked him to start with oldies, and progressively work toward modern music. He did this gracefully and made the party rock until late night. We were also impressed by Keith’s lighting equipment. He offered including up-lights and a laser show for the party. Though both looked cool, we decided to go with only the up-lighting which looked beautiful as the lights changed color to the beat of the music and bounced off the tent walls. Again, if you are considering DJ Keith, don’t hesitate! He is a one-of-a-kind DJ!

This was one of the easiest parts of our wedding, and that is because Keith was a professional from start to finish and was there at any step of the way for anything that we needed. Easy to work with, great wedding! (lots of compliments on the music!!) We highly recommend him!

Keith was great to work with! We used hin as our DJ for our September 10 wedding. He will not disappoint! He gives you a login to add music to your playlist and HS tons of helpful ideas of what to add and organize the day! Was so willing to meet with us to plan as much as we needed to!
