HOLY MOLY! Best WEDDING CAKES EVER! My sister's OBX wedding cake was so good, we made the trip from Lexington VA to get one from Just Desserts! THANK YOU! Everyone RAVED about how delicious and better than "typical" wedding cake ours was! Can't wait to eat that topper in a year! Thank you!!!

Melinda was amazing to work with! She is such a sweet person! She made an eclair cake for our wedding and it was DELICIOUS! We were told time after time at the wedding how good the cake was! If you are getting married in the OBX (or are having any kind of celebration), I highly recommend you use Just Desserts for your cake!!!

For my daughters wedding, our planner steered us to Just Desserts. Once we saw their sample cakes and tasted a bunch, we were hooked. Our guests loved the presentation of the cake and most of all LOVED that dessert! Be sure to visit them, and ask all your questions - they are terrific!

Melinda with Just Desserts not only made us a delicious, gorgeous wedding cake but was so kind and accommodating to me and my family. We came down to the OBX to meet with vendors several months prior to the wedding. Miranda welcomed us into her home office and served us sample after sample of cake. She was so down to earth and friendly - my parents LOVED her! We decided on the vanilla cake with fresh berries, and a simple ombre design. I am not a huge fan of wedding cake overall, but hers were delicious. MULTIPLE guests told me during the reception and weeks later after the wedding that it was the best wedding cake they ever had. The fresh berries really were unique and so light - perfect for a beach wedding! I can't recommend Melinda and her beautiful cakes enough!

Best on the beach!!! Our cake was amazing! Everyone complimented on how great it tasted! We cannot thank Melinda enough for sharing her gift with us! We’re counting down the days until our anniversary so we can have some more cake!! Yum!

I planned my Outer Banks wedding at The Mark Twain House (5/25/18) from my home in Connecticut. Melinda came highly recommended by our caterer so I figured I would look into her. I knew I didn't want anything extravagant, but I am a cake lover and wanted something that I would remember. Melinda was so responsive and helpful with my cake order. My wedding planner was able to pick up our cake the day before the wedding and it was all ready for her to take. I literally could not believe how delicious this cake was. After the first bite I turned and looked at the caterer who happened to be standing there and all i could say was "omg this is amazing". All of our guests commented on how good the cake was, most saying "that was the best cake I have ever had". I can't thank Melinda enough for this cake and we hope to be back to the Outer Banks soon and will 100% order another cake!

Exquisite AND delicious - the best wedding cake I've ever tasted!!!

Absolutely amazing cake! My entire wedding just about devoured the entire thing and I over ordered so we'd have leftovers. The design was perfect, exactly what we asked for, and it was the most amazing cake I've ever had! A lot of follow up needed on your behalf to make sure your details are set and payment is done on time but so worth it!!!!! People are still talking about it.

After taste testing a couple of cakes, it was very clear that Melinda was the best choice for our wedding cake. She was so wonderful to work with for our 9/13/2016 wedding and made sure we got exactly what we envisioned for our cake. She truly is a master of her craft and we have received so many compliments on how beautiful the cake was. We look forward to being able to relive our wedding day on our one year anniversary when we bust the anniversary tier out of the freezer!

Melinda at just Desserts is not just an amazing professional but also a very good person with a huge heart!! Due to some problems I had to postpone my wedding and took almost 3 years to finally realize my dream and she went throughout the whole process with me!! she took time out of her busy schedule to talk with me. Right on the day of my wedding I had a huge problem with one of my vendors and She calmed me down and offered me help when I needed the most and I will never forget that!! She saw that I had forgotten the champagne glasses for the toast and offered me hers...I still can not believe "who does that?" That was a $500 dollars glasses and not just the price but the sentimental value of it that was priceless... I loved the champagne glasses (they were so pretty and sophisticated) and it fit perfectly with the most beautiful wedding cake I ever seen!! It was not just beautiful but delicious and all my guest were amazed by the flavors..we were 50 and we ate it all lol!!! I don't know if I will be loyal to wait 1 year for the boxed cake!! Again, thank you, thank you, thank you Melinda..I will never forget everything you had done for me and my husband and I will tell everyone about you not just as a business but as a beautiful and wonderful person!! The eclair cake was one of a kind. It was the most delicious cake We have ever had, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Melinda and her team were kind enough to deliver the cake to our venue in Virginia Beach. We loved the cake and our guest raved about it as well. I would highly recommend her if you are considering a wedding cake!

Melinda at Just Desserts was great to work with. She and Just Desserts seemed to be one of the top cake vendors on OBX and were highly recommended by our reception venue. Her designs on her website were impressive, and when we tried her cake, it was delicious (though choosing just one flavor was a challenge). I sent her a picture of a cake design I really liked and she took it from there. I sent her some color samples and she was able to use those things to make her own design, though she called me to make sure I was okay with some changes. On the day of the wedding, I did nothing. She worked with the venue to make sure the cake arrived and was set up. It was beautiful and delicious. I'm not a big cake person, but we had some extra and I was excited to get to eat it in the following days. I've been to many weddings where the cake is pretty but not as tasty. That wasn't the case. The cake was delicious, and beautiful. It looks great in our photos and I was so pleased! It was pricey, but wedding cakes are, and it was exactly what I hoped for!

Our cake from Just Desserts was absolutely lovely and delicious. It was by far the best cakes we tried during our tastings and it tasted just as good on the wedding day. It looked gorgeous and we got so many compliments from people. Lots of guests went back for seconds.

This is the best cake I have ever had. Yes might be a little pricey for some people but OMG is it delicious. I so can't wait to eat my top tier on our anniversary. All the flavors are to die for and it's so moist. Don't skip out on a bad cake. :-)

In my hometown, we have many wonderful bakeries, and my family and I have been purchasing cakes for all of our special occasions from one local bakery for over 60 years. So when it came to find the perfect wedding cake for our wedding day, I had wanted a beautiful and delicious cake as our showcase dessert that reminded me of home. Melinda at Just Desserts created the perfect wedding cake for us! Throughout the wedding planning, she was friendly, listened to ideas, and offered great suggestions for our wedding cake. On our wedding day, our guests loved the cake! We didn't need additional desserts because everyone wanted more of the delicious cake! The guests and our families took slices home to enjoy as well. Our cake flavors were Eclair (perfect!) and Chocolate Choco Mousse. We were delighted with our wedding cake! Just Desserts will be an ongoing tradition during our visit to the Outer Banks!

Melinda did both our groom's cake for the rehearsal dinner and our wedding cake. She and my mother in law worked to create a cool idea for the groom's cake which turned out to be golf and Masters themed and was super cool! Our cake was simple but gorgeous and she did a great job of decorating with flowers- it looked flawless. The taste was amazing- we chose key lime and many guests were raving about it being the best wedding cake they had tasted.

My guests are still talking about my wedding cake from our wedding over a month ago! A bit pricey, but well worth spending on since it will be the best cake you have ever eaten. Go to the Wedding Expo in January and stop by Melinda's booth, grab a sample or two of each flavor - I promise your cake will taste exactly like it. It was a beautiful cake and very elegant. They brought it during dinner so it wouldn't melt in the late spring heat since our wedding was outside. We had no leftovers! She also packages the engagement tier separately so it will stay cold in the fridge with the caterer. Would choose them again in a heartbeat!

Best wedding cake ever, no wait, best cake ever. Butter Rum and Chocolate Macadamia Nut. Every guest wanted more. Never been to a wedding where the cake was this amazing

I have heard of them through friends and seen there designs on theknot.com and fell in love. I am one of those people that really don't like fondont. She only uses icing and the freshest ingredients. We ordered a tree tier cake and got a seperate anniversery cake for free. All in all they were perfect.

Just Desserts was great when we first went in for our cake tasting but the day of the wedding was a COMPLETELY different story! First the decorations where not exactly how we wanted or what was wrote in our contract. But that’s ok, and something that I could look past. But then when the cake was cut it was suppose to be Key Lime..WRONG, my cake was THREE DIFFERENT FLAVORS!!!! The bottom was key lime, the top was buttercream or something, but COMPLETELY gross, and the middle layer was éclair...Chocolate and Key Lime DO NOT MIX!!!! So The Monday after the wedding when I called Melinda, the owner/operator, about a refund for the $711 cake that was only 1/3 right I was pretty much told that it wasn't her fault or problem and that she could refund me $55! Seriously?!?! $55 refund on a $700 cake that you got wrong?!? When I have a contracted that was signed and clearly states that the whole cake was supposed to be one flavor?!?!?! Talk about one PISSED Bride!!! And on top of that the cake was not even as good as the samples we tasted. So I will NEVER recommend, Just Desserts or Melinda Gregory to ANYONE for ANYTHING especially not a wedding cake!!!!!

My wedding cake was made by Just Desserts and it was AMAZING! Melinda was really easy to work with, giving great input and communicated quickly. We had 3 different flavors, Eclair (to.die.for), Key Lime, and Red Velvet - all were spectacular! And it looked as beautiful as it tasted! Highly recommended!!

Our sandcastle cake was absolutely delicious and we chose the most basic flavor (vanilla) and a layer of eclair. Unfortunately the air conditioner wasn't working at our reception and it started to melt. We had to cut it as soon as we walked inside. And than our anniversary top didnt make it through our travels back home:( I was disappointed that they couldnt do anything for us.

My wedding cake from Just Desserts was perfect and delicious! The guests could not stop talking about how great the cake was. I would definitely recommend this vendor.

I can't decide which I like more, the way the cake looked or the way it tasted. I chose the famous Adirondack Chairs cake and it was stunning. The cakes (we picked a different flavor for each tier) were moist and delicious. Yum!

Our wedding cake was absolutely beautiful thanks to Melinda. She is so creative and took our vision and made the cake just what we wanted. The cake was also delicious and moist the day of the wedding. We had chocolate macadamia for half the cake and eclair for the other. Melinda also did a wonderful job of the rehearsal dinner cake (my fiance's motorcycle)

Melinda did a magnificent job with our cake. We had so many compliments on the moistness and originality of the cake. I would recommend this to everyone!

OMG! I can't say enough good things about this cake and Melinda of Just Desserts! It was absolutely gorgeous and tasted ahhhhhh-mazing. Quite pricey, but I've found thats pretty close to the norm for other bakers in the area - and her cake is HANDS DOWN the best!!!! Thanks for a beautiful and tasty cake!!! WE loved it and can't wait to eat our anniversary cake!! (Oh yeah, another bonus - she includes a pre-boxed anniversary cake!!!)

I had a hard time finding a wedding cake that would look beautiful and taste great. Melinda of Just Desserts offered both. All of our guests loved the design and commented that it was the best cake they've ever had at a wedding!

Our cake was out of this world and much more reasonably priced than Great Cakes for a similar cake. A guest at our wedding said that at most weddings, the cake is either pretty or it tastes good... rarely both. Well, Just Desserts mastered both. I recommend keylime and Boston eclair - I wish we'd had both for our anniversary layer. The keylime was just as good a year later!

Everyone thought the cake was so cute and loved it! It was a 2 layer cake and they decorated it like the beaches in North Carolina with white frosting and sand (graham craker) crumbs around the cake with tall grasses and white fences and 2 adriondeck chairs on top of the cake which was adorable. Then not only was the cake amazing looking, it tasted amazing as well. It was so moist and the chocolate layer in the middle with raspberry as well was soo soo good!! I only had a bite of the cake that night and I regret that because that one bite was so good but luckily we do have some leftover that I will be thawing out shortly so we can eat!!

I know I am biased, but my cake was the BEST cake ever!!! So many people have told me that they are not fans of wedding cake, but that mine looked so good that they decided to try it and it was FABULOUS!!! My biggest complaint is that in the end...it did not look like the cake I had requested and paid for...that does not mean it wasn't pretty, but it wasn't the cake I picked out from her options. However, it was CRAZY DELICIOUS!!!

We LOVED LOVED our cake!!! Melinda was great to work with. We had an idea for our cake and she made what was my dream wedding cake to a really one!! It looked like something out of a magazine. Not only was it pretty and perfect it was the best cake we had ever had!! Our guest went back for 2nd!!! When it was time to eat our cake on our anniversy, it was so good!! We ate the whole thing!! Everyone says how the "anniversy cake" is not that good. Her was almost just as good!!

after the obx wedding expo, i was determined to use 'just desserts' for the grooms cake. every sample we had was delicious and had us wanting more. i called melinda to try and get a price quote. she gave me her email address and asked me to email descriptions/pictures of what i wanted. so i did. i didn't hear back. when i tried to follow up multiple times (via phone and email), she'd occasionally email me back with a question or two. i was left with a very poor impression that she didn't want my business. in the amount of time i was proactively trying to get responses and just a price quote, the vendor who made our wedding cake had replied with an itemized price quote and i ended up going with them, and they did a terrific job.

Eclair cake--best cake I think I have ever tasted. The cake was absolutely gorgeous. People were fighting over our cake (and the leftovers the rest of the week).

We had a beautiful sandcastle cake!! It was amazing!!

Melinda was WONDERFUL (almost as perfect as her cake) She set it up so beautifully - and it was a huge hit!

It was my dream cake! She made it aqua for us and put beautiful chocolate shells all over. The design included roses on the top, but our wedding flowers were calla lillies. We asked her to add some callas, so she did.;The cake is very tasty, you'll be tempted to eat the whole thing!

Amazing creation of white chocolate sea shells, ocean crustaceans and coral! The chocolate macademia sections were out of this world! It was all gone the night of the wedding! Carrot cake was good as well - however if you have to choose, take the chocolate macadamia

The cake was not only gorgeous, but had an out-of-this-world taste as well!
