Based in the Georgetown district of Washington DC, Just Paper and Tea is a fine paper and stationery business specializing in creating exquisite wedding invitations for over 30 years. Their unique custom creations and design expertise have rightfully earned them a place as industry experts in the wedding stationery business.
Owners Carolyn and Nick Wasylczuk set up Just Paper and Tea back in 1989. A former stationery buyer, Carolyn knows a lot about the industry and was always passionate about setting up her own company. Over 30 years later, Carolyn’s enthusiasm and genuine love for the business still shines through in her stunning creations. This husband-and-wife team is delighted to offer couples one of the largest selections of custom engagement, wedding, and milestone moment designs in the Washington DC area.
Carolyn and Nick place top priority on crafting high-quality products that are both beautiful and unique in style. Employing a range of design methods to create the perfect wedding invitation, such as embossing, engraving, thermography, and foil stamping, these stationery and fine paper experts are highly skilled in their craft. Associated wedding products are also available such as save-the-date cards, escort and place cards, menus, seating charts, and thank-you cards. Working with Caroline and her husband was such a pleasure! They really know their business so well. We described what we were looking for, and they chose the invitation book (out of so many choices) that they thought would match our vision. They were right! We were able to pick out a crane invitation that really set the tone for the elegance of our wedding. I really think that because of the level of elegance of our invitations, people knew to dress formally for our wedding. My only complaint is that when we went to pick up our invitations, there were several mistakes. We had about 3 invitations missing, and 2, which were printed kind of sloppily. I know mistakes can happen, but I am just glad that my now husband and I are very meticulous people, and took the time to look through every single envelope when we picked up the invitations. Overall, they have a ton of choices here and do a wonderful job. We are getting an invitation professional framed, because we love it so much! I know a lot of people order invitations online, and even have people send their responses online. If you want to add elegance to your wedding, you will not regret visiting this quaint and adorable shop!

Carolyn and Nick were absolutely fabulous to work with to design our wedding invitations. They are a wealth of knowledge, so patient and insightful. They have options to fit any style and made the process seamless. Our final product is beautiful, high quality and fit our vision - the perfect way to invite people to our special day.
I wanted a traditional look for my invitations, so an online vendor was not going to work. Nick and Carolyn from Just Paper and Tea worked with me to perfectly capture my style as well as to bring me up to speed on wedding invitation etiquette. They also worked with me to select options that fit my budget. I received so many compliments about my invitations, and I cannot recommend Just Paper and Tea enough.
Just Paper & Tea was one of the best choices we made during the entire wedding process. They were quite different from other shops around DC in that they were a two-person show, not a mid-size wedding factory. They were tailored to provide individual couples the support they needed to have a great wedding. It should also be noted that they were featured as an American Express Small Business Shop. As an Art Director and Designer myself, I needed some production support, since I was designing an entire invitation suite, including invites, menu cards, thank you cards and a host of other collateral. They provided outstanding consultation and production. They’re paper product line was also amazing with just the right styles to achieve a specific look. Caroline not only provided extensive ideas and technical know how, but was also a great consultant on planning a wedding. We had no idea what we were doing, however, with their support the process was made quite simple. Her and Nick were some of the sweetest people we met out of all our vendors. They became more than just vendors to us… They became friends. We would ask them questions that only wedding experts would know. They would response with the utmost respect and know how… and eventually leave us to discuss options. We highly recommend Just Paper & Tea for not only for your invitation suite but perhaps as outside consultants for planning the perfect wedding.
Carolyn was wonderful to work with! She helped me pick invitations that fit our colors and feel and didn't try to oversell me on anything. She was able to get everything done quickly and the invites turned out beautifully. We went back to her for our programs, menus, escort cards, and table cards and they looked amazing! She had everything all ready to go when I came into the shopped to discuss it with her, based on what my invitations looked like. I really didn't even have to come in! She worked with us to edit the programs so they looked the way we wanted them to and even reprinted them a few days before the wedding when I had a last minute change -- free of charge! Cannot recommend Carolyn and her adorable shop in Georgetown enough!
We're graphic designers and called Just Paper & Tea for our wedding invitations. Specifically, we were looking to have a white on white design printed on high quality paper stock - very understated and polished. We sent over our design files and Carolyn discussed different paper stocks and she suggested a slight wash for the white text so it would pop more on the white background. Within a week we received a proof and loved it. We were extremely happy with the quality of their printing and the paper they used. We appreciated the advice and the quality -- something we just couldn't find at other stationery stores. It was really unique. Everyone absolutely loved our invitations and asked where we got them done. I highly recommend them.
Carolyn at Just Paper was an amazing guide for us, since we knew very little about stationary. She spent a lot of time with us, not just showing us design options, but also working with us to customize designs and packages that would fit in our budget. She went to great lengths to help us with many of the details of the stationary -- and threw in several services, such as addressing the envelopes -- for free. We had a lot of fun working with her and were really lucky to get a lot of personal attention. Their products also span a wide range of stationers, with many price options.
Just Paper and Tea is a nice, quaint shop in Georgetown. They did a fantastic job on our invitations and programs. They did a great job, got to know our style and delivered with attractive, classic taste. It was kind of cute, because when we went in to pick out our programs, Carolyn knew our style and had the book opened to a style she thought we might like. She nailed it! I proceeded to go through and look at other options, but kept coming back to the one we first looked at. They are also very helpful with tips on ettiquete and other planning that a bride without a wedding planner or a lot of experience would find helpful. While e-mails weren't always answered immediately (as mentioned in other reviews), it is understandable as June/Summer is a busy wedding season. Thanks for the great work!
Carolyn (one of the co-owners of the shop) is a delight to work with. She is generally very organized and extremely knowledgeable about the wedding invitation process. She also went out of her way to help us prepare our invitations by doing address printing, envelope lining, and more.
We contacted Just Paper to design our wedding invitations for our destination wedding in Iceland. My fiancee and I wanted something special that reflected the unique location of our ceremony. Once the final design was shown to us we were blown away by their simple, elegant approach. We received so many compliments on the subtle design and paper quality. Obviously we were so happy! Nick and Carolyn are experts in delivering well crafted designs and meeting special requests. And on top of all that, they are so personable and friendly.

Just Paper & Tea did all of the paper products for my recent wedding -- from the invitations to the cocktail napkins to the ceremony programs. During the process we spent countless hours with Nick and Carolyn, the lovely husband and wife who own the store, and throughout they were patient, offered excellent insight and provided timely turnaround for all of the items we ordered. Our original plan was to do the invitations only at Just Paper & Tea and create DIY projects out of the programs and perhaps other items. However, Nick and Carolyn won us over, making us feel comfortable that they would get it all done, while still allowing us to play a role in the creative process. I highly recommend Just Paper & Tea for your wedding invitations, everyday stationary or even just cute nicknacks.

Excellent source for a wide variety of creative choices for invitations, printed menus, cards. I've used Just Paper & Tea for everything from birthday party invitations to the most formal event invitations. They carry a wide variety of custom products you won't see anywhere else. I've gotten business cards printed on organic paper from them. I've gotten one of a kind, hand done cards and invitations as well. Sure, they carry the standard options, but they really excel at the creative choices at a variety of price points.
