She even recreated the sleeves into exactly what I wanted. She made all of my wedding dreams come true! Not only is she amazing with what she does, but she is also the most kind and wonderful person to work with! Reneé makes everyone feel comfortable and the dress room adds in all of the bridal- princess vibes! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I’ll be using Reneé for all my alternation needs!

incredible it looked...and felt! The perfect amount of snugness that I knew it wasn't going anywhere, but also comfy enough to sit, dance, eat...I didn't want to take it off! Renee is so sweet and friendly, I looked forward to talking with her at each of our appointments together. She is so dedicated to her work and so enthusiastic, she was just as excited as I was! I absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for incredible fit, which I learned is way more custom than just plain alterations. She made me feel like my dress was made just for me. It was perfect.

After our consultation, I decided to alter a little more than just taking up the hem, to make the dress really fit like a glove. only negative thing that I have to say about Just Sew would be the price. She was transparent with me while we were communicating through The Knot before our initial face to face meeting to let me know that alterations would cost somewhere between $400-$700 (I sent her pictures of my dress on The Knot). However, after our first fitting when I was getting ready to take off the already-pinned-up dress, she informed me that the grand total would be just under $1000. I was a bit taken aback by the number, but already felt like I was too far in with a date that was getting too close to change seamstresses. I ended up paying that amount, but she did do a good job on the dress. Her creativity with the bustle of my train was wonderful, and I got lots of compliments on it all night! The only negative that I would have to share would be the price; other than that, I really enjoyed working with her!

She is an absolute master, and I felt so at ease trusting her with my dress since her knowledge and skill is so apparent as soon as she starts talking. I could not believe how beautiful my dress turned out, and I genuinely loved going to my fittings because she is such a kind and friendly person to talk to. I can't recommend her enough!

ame engaged and needed someone to alter my crepe sheath backless dress. To fit my bust, the dress had been ordered in a larger size which Renee then assured me she could take in everywhere else to provide me with a sleek fit. After multiple fittings the dress was just not laying right around my hips or the bust area, it seemed puckered in areas and too loose in others. She had also sewn ribbons into the train for a french bustle but had used very coarse thread and sewn them in a way that made puckered squares all along the gorgeous train. My mom asked if I had snagged the dress in a zipper when she saw them for the first time. All the while Renee was polite but seemed as though she was trying to convince me that the issues I was having with the dress were body image related. "You look beautiful, you're just too focused on the bust/hips/back side. You have a gorgeous body" While I appreciated the comments it still did not seem to me that this beautiful dress that I had loved in the store when I bought it was the same one that I was trying on in front of the mirror at Just Sew. I began to panic and subsequently took it to another seamstress who was rather shocked at the technique she used for the bustle and then revealed to me that the reason nothing on the dress was laying right was because Renee had altered the top layer of the dress but had neglected to alter the lining. She pulled the top layer of the dress up to show me four inches of extra dress underneath along with uneven seam allowances, coarse thread, and overall sub-professional work and short cuts. In the end the dress was beyond repair. I had to buy a sample off a rack from a different store and pay for rush alterations. My entire life I have dreamed of my wedding with the dress being a major feature. In the end I spent 2000 on a dream dress that I won't get to wear. I'll walk down the aisle in a dress that isn't what I wanted or ever imagined. I'm spending the week before my wedding driving back and forth to last minute rush fittings instead of getting excited. If she did not have the experience or expertise to alter my dress I wish she would have said so instead of charging me 575 dollars for work that would ultimately ruin it. If you need your dress to fit like a glove, I would unfortunately not recommend Renee

ed on taking in my designer dress - adding a waist belt, taking out layers, hemming it here, hemming it there, and adding in some cups as well. I am beyond delighted to say that my dress lasted almost a full 24 hours on! I slipped it on at 1PM and didn't take it off until 6 the next morning! It withstood a 12 hour reception full of polka, a flashmob, and castle magic :) Renee was probably the only positive part of planning my wedding. I recommend her to anyone and everyone. She is truly absolutely extraordinary.

! None of my guest could believe that it was the same dress! It originally had a lace turtle neck, long sleeves, and mushroom pleating. After my consultation and 3 fittings it had an illusion neckline, low cut back, french embroidered lace in the place of the pleating and a bustle. It fit perfectly! I was so happy wear such a unique gown, that had so many memories and meaning. From my first consultation with Renee I felt comfortable. She was very honest and transparent with me and did not do anything to my dress without my permission. Her work was above and beyond what I thought was possible for this dress! Renee is very welcoming and open, and has a great sense of humor. I can not recommend her enough!

nto the dress! Because of the corset and many layers of tule i was skeptical. However i was wrong! She did a seamless job! She is defiantly an expert in her traid! The only downfall is that she does not have a price list so everything can get costly. (No price list because every dress is different). I would bring all gowns to her if u need any work done to them!

tually drove to Raleigh from Wilmington, NC because of her amazing reviews. I am SO glad I did. She walked me through every detail of the alterations process, and was extremely thorough. She also made some great suggestions that I hadn’t thought of before. We ended up adding cups, hemming the dress, adding some almost invisible darting, adding a bustle, and tailoring the sleeves slightly. My dress was all one piece of lace, so I knew alterations would be no easy task. When I got my dress back, it was INCREDIBLE. I was speechless. It fit like a glove. It looked like it was literally made for me. I had no idea I could love my dress more than the day I bought it, but thanks to Renee’s flawless work and attention to detail, she made me fall in love with my dress all over again. Renee’s work is absolutely amazing and she is a true professional. On top of that, she is SO friendly and fun to work with. Trusting your wedding dress to someone is a big deal, and I cannot recommend Renee highly enough! A million thanks to you Renee!

I always felt like she knew what she was doing and trusted her every idea. She generously took my input as well. I had 2 fittings as it was a big job. She works out of her house and has a separate area for her fittings. I highly recommend Just Sew by Renee!

hat made it easier was Renee's professionalism and exquisite craftsmanship. I purchased my dress on sample sale here in CA, and brought it to NC with me over the holidays hoping to find a tailor. After reading dozens of online reviews, I decided to book an appointment with Renee. She was very helpful in finding dates and times that worked for me each time I came for a fitting. I was even late to my last two appointments, and she was super flexible! Off the rack, my dress was about two sizes too big. It looked like I was wearing a lace sack. During my first consultation with Renee, I felt immediately at ease. I had never had anything fitted by a tailor before, so I didn't know what to expect. Renee clearly explained where and why every pin was placed on the dress as well as my options for styling (bustle, neckline, etc.). Although the cost of altering the dress was almost the same amount I paid for it (after everything was said and done, my dress still cost less than the average wedding dress with alterations), the end result was absolutely worth it. When I saw Renee for my second fitting and tried on my gown after the alterations had been made I could not believe the transformation. The dress that was lumpy and big originally, was now fit to my body like no other garment I've ever worn. The dress was made for me! I felt beautiful, elegant, classic, and sexy. I don't think any piece of clothing I ever own will come close to my wedding dress. Thank you Renee for making my dress perfect! Corinne

We began the process just over 2 months until the wedding, and Renee got it done in plenty of time even though she had quite a bit to alter! :D My dress was initially two sizes too big (whoops), and it was I think 7" or so too long (yay short people) and it had a "horsehair" hem which is more complicated to alter! Oh and my dress had a lace overlay with this beautiful spacing between the lace on the skirt (it's James Clifford style J11371 for reference) and we decided to shorten the skirt and not lose the detailing at the bottom by taking the length from those gaps! The dress turned out so beautiful! It fit me great! Renee added cups into the bust, which had a little push-up so that I fit the dress better, and she helped me pick the bustle (I went with the traditional bustle), and she told me how to sit in the dress without damaging the hooks and eyes in the bustle! She also had the dress steamed so that when I picked it up at the final alteration it would be ready for the wedding day! On top of all that, she handled sending it to a dress preservation specialist somewhere up north for me so I didn't have to figure it out myself and I knew the dress is in good hands! Overall, Renee did an amazing job on my wedding dress, and I hope I have dresses in need of alterations in the future so I can work with her again! Thank you so much Renee, the dress was beautiful!! :)

The dress fit like a glove when she was finished, and it looked BEAUTIFUL! I am so glad I found Renee, she is so genuine and personable. I will not use anyone else for dress alterations!

Renee altered my dress and it made all of the difference in the overall look of the dress. I was so happy with her work. The dress was ready the day she promised and her shop helped make me feel very "bridal". If I had to do it again, I would not have added a bustle to my dress (I didn't use it) nor would I have added the hooks to help my dress hook on to my bra (they didn't really seem to want to hold on, but my bra was the wrong size and couldn't be helped). I would highly recommend Renee for helping make your wedding dress perfect for YOU.
