I wanted to share our experience with Juste Hors D'Oeuvres, whom we hired for my milestone birthday celebration. The caterer, Marilyn, was warm and accommodating person and helped us plan the event with ease. She was very detail-oriented, followed up with us regularly, and worked around our schedules. She also coordinated directly with the event venue on everything from facility requirements to equipment breakdown. The food was fresh, delicious, served on time, and at the right temperature. She is truly a marvelous chef and offered a wide variety of food selection. We were impressed by how she treated our guests, especially the elderly and people with disabilities. She reached out to them individually and made sure they had food that suited their needs and preferences. They all felt very cared for and appreciated. I highly recommend Juste Hors D'Oeuvres for any occasion. They are professional, friendly, and affordable. You won't regret it!

Juste Hors D’oeuvres Catering did an amazing job for my daughter’s Bridal Shower. They truly are a full-service company. Working with Marylyn was a joy and a relief, she knows what’s needed to create what you’re envisioning. She guided me through menu selections and site planning, making suggestions of things I hadn’t thought of. No detail was left to chance. All that and amazing food that the guests raved about! The cooks, staff, and bartender were wonderful and professional. From set-up to clean-up, I could not have asked for anymore. How can I write a review that truly encompasses how absolutely amazing my wedding reception was!? Juste Hors D'Oeuvres and Much More recently catered my outdoor “garden-style” wedding of 80 guests, and I couldn’t dream of a more amazing experience working with Marylyn and her staff. Marylyn was more like a full-service event planner, as she took the time to get to know both my husband and I, as well as our full plan for our wedding day. She invited us into her home for a tasting, where she also took the time to get to know us, how we met, our families, and how we envisioned our wedding day to play out. Throughout the planning process, she worked with the company we planned rentals from, including the tents, tables, chairs, linens, appliances, etc., and she triple-checked all items to ensure every detail matched our vision for our wedding. She asked just about every question imaginable, and helped make sure we weren’t missing any important area/item. Her incredible organization, communication, responsiveness, and attention to detail aside (!!!), the food that was served on our wedding day was the true stand-out. Just wow! We chose five passed appetizers; roasted chicken and eggplant parmesan for the two mains; as well as a host of side dishes; and everything was absolutely delicious. My guests are still raving about how amazing everything tasted! By working with Marylyn, I felt such a calm in my heart, knowing that she would take care of everything and ensure our wedding reception was flawless. My husband and I were able to relax and really enjoy our special day. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank Marylyn and her entire staff for their kindness, organization, attention to detail and their passion.

Marilyn from Juste Hors D’Oeuvres and More prepared an absolutely delicious meal for my dad’s 90th birthday. She was exceptional with all aspects of planning and communication, including scheduling several calls to discuss meal options, budget and logistics. She was punctual, organized and served a wonderful dinner party that included vegan selections. She left everything spotless and we were able to completely enjoy the evening knowing she was handling every detail. Her assistant Jill baked a professional looking and tasting cake that my dad said was the best thing he ever ate. I highly recommend Marilyn and her team.

Marylyn and her team were simply fantastic! Marylyn is so knowledgeable and helpful in the wedding process. She's straight forward and was a great guide in helping us plan our menu. She helped us manage things like seating charts, and helping us navigate which other vendors we would need to work with for things like where to buy ice from... to rental companies. The food was simply fantastic! I've attended so many weddings where the food was mediocre at best, I left my own wedding stuffed! All of our guests raved about our food and our dessert table, everything was simply divine. Marylyn and her team catered my baby shower and WOOOOW it was amazing! They did an amazing job customizing the menu to our needs (vegetarian forward, healthy vibes) and executed flawlessly day of! From the beginning, Marylyn demonstrated a level of professionalism and dedication that set her apart. Unlike other caterers, she took the time to understand our needs, preferences, and budget constraints during an initial call. Throughout the planning process she was attentive and quick to respond to communications. She took care of rentals and offered valuable advice for the floor plan and timeline. She welcomed us into her home for the tasting - which was delicious. We had a lot of flexibility in creating the menu with her and she was mindful of our budget throughout the process. Day of - Marylyn and her team were amazing. Everyone was SO pleasant and organized. The setup, set down, coordination, and execution of the catering went smoothly, requiring little direction from us. The cocktail hour included plenty of spectacular hors d'oeuvres and drinks served promptly. Everyone had great things to say about the dinner! Juste Hors D'Oeuvres was very mindful of our guests allergies and dietary restrictions. In summary, Juste Hors D'Oeuvres, led by Marylyn and her fantastic team do a great job and really care about you and your event.

Marylyn at Juste Hors D'Oeurves was an incredible help in planning our wedding. They are more than just a caterer - they are truly a partner in planning your wedding! Marylyn went above and beyond to help us in a unique venue situation with a first-time venue - she spent a lot of time with us and with the venue coordinating all of the details. She was extremely communicative and responsive throughout the process. She created a menu that was perfect for us (I am gluten free, so she found ways to incorporate that for me!) I also really appreciated that Marylyn was conscious of our budget - she was great at recommending ways to save, while also calling out things we would definitely need given our venue. I would highly recommend Marylyn!! She is the best.

Marylyn worked WITH us and helped plan through the details of our day. She kept our vision and budget in mind and offered great advice and creative solutions — we appreciated her honesty and transparency. Response time was good, this woman is on top of it. The menu had wonderful variety and tasted great — we especially loved the stuffed mushrooms and salmon steak bites. We received so many compliments from guests for the staff. They are so friendly, kind, and attentive. Aside from that they ran our day efficiently and accurately. It’s easy to see they are a team that works well together and knows what they’re doing. Bottom line: Marylyn and her team are great, very reasonably priced, and will make your day a deliciously memorable one.

Juste Hors D'Oeurvres was simply fantastic. I threw a surprise party for my mother in her home. When they arrived, perfectly on time, all my stress went away. Fun and sweet and open, the staff generously and calmly set up the party and truly helped us make it feel like a PARTY. The food was AMAZING - everyone asked me about it all night. The way the staff made everyone feel comfortable and cared for, including my mother when she arrived and found all these people in my kitchen, was truly beautiful. The party went on without a hitch. The team was so flexible and again, just fun. So grateful!!!

I am deeply disappointed and angered by our experience with Juste Hors D'Oeuvres's catering. Our event was marred by numerous issues that I feel potential customers should be aware of: Communication Difficulties: Engaging with Marylyn became increasingly challenging as the event approached. Not only was she often rude, but she also stated she would charge us additional fees if we reached out to her via email or phone a month before the wedding day. This restriction only permitted us one final call before the big day, making coordination and addressing of concerns nearly impossible. Service Shortcomings: Due to the limited communication, a significant oversight occurred during our event. Even though we had both red and white wine at our disposal, they were not served to our guests, who were restricted to only cocktails throughout the night. Pricing Inconsistencies: We were blindsided when we received a rental proposal from Marylyn a mere 4 days before the wedding. The costs presented were substantially higher than initially quoted. When we approached her about this discrepancy, Marylyn informed us that the order had already been placed and was non-refundable, leaving us with no choice but to accept the escalated prices. Final Payment Discrepancies: To our dismay, the final bill was almost double the original proposal. New charges seemed to be continuously tacked on without clear justification or prior intimation. In conclusion, our experience with Juste Hors D'Oeuvres's catering services was riddled with challenges and unexpected complications. I would advise prospective clients to exercise caution. The lack of professionalism, transparency, and communication made our journey stressful and disillusioning.

Marylyn and her team provided a superb experience. Marylyn gave us a tremendous amount of help, advice, and experience as well as coordination with the rental vendor which frankly would have been impossible for us. It was clear within minutes of meeting her that she knew how to plan and execute on a wedding. Day of, the staff arrived and were friendly, responsive, professional and above all: kind. Every dish prepared for our wedding was outstanding in quality. All the food was ready on time as well, and we were free to have fun. I couldn't recommend this company enough!

Everything about our experience with Juste Hors D’Oeuvres was amazing. Let me tell you, they are so much more than just hors d’oeuvres! We had an extremely personalized experience for our wedding, down to a menu that was built from scratch to fit our budget’s needs and express who we are as a couple, to an individualized tasting with Marilyn that left us so excited for the final meal, to the day of, where Marylyn and her team were so on top of everything, and our guests wouldn’t stop raving about the food! We had a brunch style wedding, so when people are raving about smoked salmon and brioche french toast, I can’t imagine how divine a a full sit down dinner would taste! I couldn’t be more happy with the outcome of our day, and I highly recommend Juste Hors D’Oeuvres for any event.

We couldn't have had a better experience than working with Marylyn and her talented team at Juste Hors D'Oeuvres! Marylyn worked closely with us to design a menu that reflected our multicultural relationship and ceremony, and the guests raved about how delicious the results were. She also went far beyond that in helping our planning - visiting our home to help us figure out how to best use our space, taking responsibility for managing our rental contract, and connecting us to other vendors of exceptional quality. On the day of, her staff were both highly professional and a pleasure to interact with. They gracefully handled all of the unexpected surprises the night held, and were super friendly and accommodating for all the requests coming from us and from our guests. A good example of how attentive and friendly the Juste Hors D'Oeuvres team was is that they prepared plates of appetizers for my wife and I, just to make sure that we had the chance to relax and feed ourselves (it's easy to forget when things are so busy)! Marylyn and her Staff are the most professional, versatile, talented event planning team we have experienced. "We reached out to Marylyn for our sons graduation party which was a unique event. With the myriad of option on the internet its hard to decipher the truly best caterers from the just average but after just one phone call we knew we had a professional reliable person in Marylyn. For us the party was an “in between”, not quite a wedding so it needed to be more intimate, personalized touch but we still needed all the services of an event planner from parking to bar tending to setup and breakdown in addition to great food. Well Marylyn and her staff did not disappoint. The one thing we appreciated the most was the versatility of the menu. Just wrapped up our wedding two days ago and I am still glowing and beaming with happiness. It was such a special day, everything I imagined and better, and all of this was made possible by Marylyn and her team, who went above and beyond for my wife and I. Our venue turned out to be smaller than I thought, but that didn't stop Marylyn from doing the most. Did I mention this was a gay wedding, hosted by the brides who knew nothing of weddings? Marylyn was so respectful and catered exactly to our needs, everything from budget to schedule to even hosting responsibilities. The food was amazing (everybody raved about the duck breast that was on the menu), the setup went incredibly smooth (again, she worked with a small Brooklyn venue) and everything was beautiful. And even more the big day, she was so thorough with her communication and planning, I cannot thank Marylyn and her team enough. Marylyn and team catered our wedding and it could not have been more perfect! Everyone raved about the food specifically the beef. We didn't have an easy to please crowd, and yet everyone was absolutely blown away by it. Our entire wedding day went along seamlessly thanks to Marylyn and her staff. The food was delicious, elegantly, presented, substantial, and truly crowd pleasing at a reasonable price. And Marylyn was there every step of the way, in advance, to guide us through with countless professional recommendations. The staff was not only excellent but absolute perfection. Marylyn catered our wedding at The Barn at Orchard Hill Estate in Harriman, NY. The food and venue were amazing! The food and presentation was masterful. Our guest list included quite a few world-traveling foodies. They repeatedly commented how delicious the food was.   Our 3 main dishes were: -Poached salmon with a dill cream sauce on the side, -Marinated and Grilled Beef Tenderloin w/Horseradish Crema on the Side -Roasted Chicken w/White Wine/Thyme/Garlic and Lemon We had guests whose preference ranged from rare to well done. The marinated steak was cooked perfectly for each of them. All 3 dishes were a hit and made to perfection to satisfy everyone’s palate. Marylyn was an absolute joy and easy to work with. She made our wedding spectacular.  We will definitely hire her again. I highly recommend Marylyn to anyone who wants the food for their special event to be unforgettable.

From my first phone call with Marylyn, I had an inkling she would be my choice to host a 70th birthday backyard event for 25 of my closest friends and family. She did not disappoint. I booked Marylyn and her team for a small backyard bridal shower in late June. Marylyn worked with me every step of the way and provided an absolutely delicious menu. Just Hors D'Oeuvres did an amazing brunch for my daughters engagement party. Marylyn takes care of every detail and oversees everything. The food was delicious- the pumpkin lasagna a MUST! The staff are very polite, well trained and extremely helpful

They danced behind the bar and buffets and were quick to help out and just a gracious and kind staff. The food was INCREDIBLE. We’ve had so many guests tell us about how delicious the food was after the fact. Everyone knows that wedding food can be hit or miss. Even a stamp of approval from the head matriarch of the wedding (grandma)!! They were also prepared to deal with anything throw at them on day of the wedding E.G. parking debacles, cake stand malfunctions and some other issues that arose. Marylyn was also one of very few vendors that was willing to work with us with our budget, for which we are incredible grateful, especially considering that we got married near Times Square on New Years Eve. We could not have done it without her as our caterer!!

Chef and owner, Marylyn Schwartz cooks with love and passion and treats her clients like members of the family. Her team has worked with her in every setting at small and large events, and they have a flow and collaborative spirit which is impressive and effective. Each member of the team was warm and friendly (one even providing me with meditation tips to ease my stress before the start time!) and seemed genuinely happy for our family as we celebrated our son's wedding. During the planning months working with me and my daughter-in-law, Marylyn was easy to reach and responsive. She helped us plan every detail from the menu to outdoor sheltering to timeline. Our guests were raving about the food. Highly recommended!

Marylyn Schwartz of Juste Hors D'Oeuvres and her staff went above and beyond to make the wedding reception a wonderful and memorable event. The food was delicious, well presented and the service was friendly and efficient. The theme was Fall in New England which started with passed appetizers, then we enjoyed a lovely salad with pears, New England clam chowder which was creamy and loaded with clams, then a buffet featuring salmon in a lemon - caper sauce and roast pork loin with apple or apricot sauce, which was melt in the mouth. Finally, desserts were sweet bites of pumpkin or apple cheese cake pops, chocolate glazed cider donuts and fresh fruit and whipped cream.

Our wedding was AMAZING in large part to Marylyn and Chef Manny. From the first phone call to the day of the event, Marylyn was nothing short of a joy to work with. She gave it to us straight every step of the way and communicated openly with us. She made sure she worked within our budget and delivered a fantastic menu including unique dishes not typical of the standard caterer like Moroccan spiced salmon and buffalo cauliflower bites. I have gluten and egg food allergies and was so relieved to have an exciting menu that I could indulge in as well! We felt completely confident after our tasting and couldn't stop raving about how good the food was! Marylyn organized our wedding buffet set up for 200 people seamlessly, and her spirit and energy made the entire experience wonderful. We will definitely be using Juste Hor D'Oeuvres for future events and truly cannot thank Marylyn, Manny and the rest of the team enough for everything!

Marylyn, Chef Manny, and their staff and food were faultless! Every last one of our guests said it was perfection and no one went home hungry! Beyond the quality and quantity of the food, all staff members from top to bottom were courteous, kind, and fun. Trust me - you will not regret booking with them, should they have any availability! It’s a full-service customer-focused business with passionate and talented people at the helm. Absolutely perfect!

From the start of the planning process, Marylyn and Manny were wonderful. Marylyn was clear about her pricing and we went through our event and the menu. When we went for the tasting we were surprised at how good the food actually was and that sealed the deal. I was nervous the day of the event because the wedding was held at a private inn and the entire bridal party was off-site when the caterers arrived but, thankfully, there was no need to be. Manny, his sous chef, the servers, and the bartender were all set up, cooking, and ready when we returned. The servers, Vic and Jill, were extremely professional, friendly, and helpful. The food, like at the tasting, was amazing. Very well seasoned, fish and beef cooked perfectly and everything on the buffet hot. I would use them at another event in a heartbeat and I cannot thank Marylyn, Manny, and their staff for delivering on exactly what they promised.

If you are looking for a caterer, look no further than Juste Hors D’Oeuvres!!! We hired Marylyn and her team to cater our wedding and they exceeded all our expectations! From our first call with Marylyn, she was incredibly sweet and clearly very passionate about her work. We felt immediately at ease and confident that she would help make our wedding great. Marylyn worked tirelessly behind the scenes speaking to our rental company, venue, and day-of-coordinator to ensure that we had all the equipment necessary and that we had the perfect timeline for our day. Marylyn and Juste Hors D'oeuvres recently catered our wedding. From the first contact right to the end of the wedding, Marylyn and her team were wonderful. Marylyn helped us with every detail of the wedding. Rentals, bartenders, staff, flowers... That was such a big help to have one point of contact. And the food...AMAZING!!! The guests raved about everything. My father said that it was the most tender filet mignon he ever had. And, my dad is the steak guy! We cannot thank the staff enough, especially Chef Manny, for their attentive, gracious service to us all. If you are looking for a caterer that delivers 100% every time, you cannot do better than Juste Hors D'Oeuvres!!!

My husband and I picked this place because of all the rave reviews and they were absolutely a lie. Things started off great, Marylyn was kind, attentive, and made us feel very comfortable and at ease. Then we put the deposit down and everything changed. We could hardly reach her for days at a time via email and phone calls with questions we had and then when we did, we were told how busy she was with other weddings and didn't have time for us right now. She even made a mistake with the final invoice and when we mentioned something to her about now having to come up with even more money, she stated how above and beyond she was going,, of how generous she's been with her time and efforts, all of which was not true (also, we were paying her to do a service, there was nothing done out of the generosity of her heart). Her whole attitude shifted towards unprofessional through our correspondence, which we just put up with because by that point we had tasted the food, which was delicious at the time and thought it would all be worth it the day of the wedding. It wasn't. I feel personally sabotaged and robbed. They came completely unprepared to the venue, no ice, no options for where they would get their electricity, we had to use my friend's generator, there was no wedding party table we previously agreed on, she was rude to my guests, and the food was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! It was nothing like what we had during the tasting. We paid over $5k for the food alone and it was, in a word, gross. Then afterwards she asked how much of the leftovers we wanted and at 5 grand we wanted all of them! But then she kept asking if I was sure because the food was left out for hours and there was nothing they could do to keep the flies away, so if someone got sick it wasn't their problem...almost her exact words...please do not go with this place. I don't know if we were treated this way because we're minorities or if its because Marylyn is really that unprofessional, but either way 10 out of 10 would NOT recommend!

She catered a wedding for two of my best friends at my Aunts and uncles Backyard in Westchester .I was there for the entire set up and dealt with these people along with my aunt. So lets start with the fact that they were warned several times that the power gird was old and it wouldn't be able to power their convection ovens and all the cooking equipment along with the lights fans and dj equipment. Yet, they show up with no generator or any back up plan. They blow the fuse twice before eventually using my aunt and uncles very loud gas generator. The chef was extremely rude to my entire family. The food was not good and there was not enough. The only thing I can say was enjoyed was the bread and the apps. The staff kept stepping all over the white runner as the wedding party was about to come out. They weren't prepared with a table for the bridal party. The didn't bring ice and we had to run out and get some for them. They charged extra for cleanup and left food and cake and cups literally everywhere and we were cleaning up all night . The bridal party broke down the tables and chairs and three days later they are still in my aunt and uncles yard along with the tents and everything.
