My partner and I eloped just last week, and we could not have done it without the help of Justice Lydon & Co. Well, we could have, but it would have been a disaster. The team at Justice Lydon & Co. were communicative, flexible, and understanding. When we got caught up in daily life, they checked in with us to make sure everything was in place for our special day. On the day of our elopement, we, of course, got lost and Justice Roberta was so kind and patient. The ceremony that she performed was beautiful and knocked the socks off anything that we could have written ourselves. Roberta also gave my family direction for the best photography and helped fix my unruly hair. She is certainly a woman of all trades, and we are so happy that she was the one to officiate our special day!

We could not have asked for a better officiant for our wedding. Justice Roberta Black made us feel comfortable throughout the whole process of planning and gave us the perfect ceremony. She was flexible with setting up calls, and extremely responsive via email and text. We weren't really sure where to start with planning the perfect ceremony, but she was our guiding light to get us through it and help us along. We were unable to meet in person before the wedding due to COVID restrictions, but that had no impact whatsoever on her ability to pick up on our needs during the wedding day. When we had to postpone our wedding, we were scrambling to figure out if we could pull off a smaller ceremony in Boston. We reached out to Lydon Chapel and worked with Roberta--she was outstanding, start to finish! The whole experience of planning and replanning a wedding is nerve wracking, so having a JP who was calm and ready to work with us on anything was super helpful (and calming!). Would highly recommend working with Roberta!
In case you only read this first sentence, I’ll start by saying Michelle did an unbelievable job and we would HIGHLY recommend her. We planned to get married on June 6, 2020 but we had to postpone the wedding to next summer due to COVID-19. Although we were thrilled to secure a new date, we wanted to memorialize our original wedding date through a private ceremony. We contacted Michelle just a few weeks before June 6th. Given how amazing she is, and how close to the date we called, it was no surprise to us that she had limited availability. Nevertheless, she was happy to work with us and find time in her schedule to marry us on our original wedding date. When we arrived for the ceremony, Michelle was the light at the end of the tunnel. After a long and stressful couple of months, Michelle made our day better then we ever could have imagined. She’s an incredible officiant, and an even more amazing person. We couldn’t have been happier with her services.

I called frantically around and found Roberta Black from Lyndon Chapels. Roberta was so wonderful and the ceremony was perfect. I would recommend Lyndon Chapels to anyone. I would give it 10 stars.
Michelle is very friendly and professional. I found Michelle online two weeks before our wedding. The ceremony was in West Roxbury, she travelled to us, and was very punctual. My husband and I love the ceremony, she did a magnificent job. We would highly recommend her.
We got married here on 03/17/2018. We are from out of town (NY) and Michelle and Rose were amazing setting everything up over email or by phone. I did not have to worry about a thing! Rose had my family (group of 20) all taken care of in the room and ready to go. And the words Michelle said at the ceremony were so heartfelt. I had to keep looking at my fiancé and laugh so We wouldn’t cry (he admitted he was doing the same after).

Dealing with her daughter Roberta was a breeze. Roberta was responsive and answered any questions we had. We had the Sweet & Simple Wedding Ceremony package and it was perfectly sweet and simple. All our guests loved her, and she made us feel very comfortable. I was definitely recommend her!

We were referred to Justice of the Peace, Michelle Lydon, by our venue. Michelle was unavailable for our wedding date, but we received Rose Pope's help for our big day. Rose was easy to communicate with over phone and email, and was kind enough to invite my fiancé and I to her home to meet and get to know us. Rose listened to how we met, our 'wants' for our ceremony, and politely responded to all of our questions and concerns. As an overly anxious bride, I am so thankful Rose was able to take the reigns on the planning, with little direction from me or my fiancé. She created a beautiful and simple ceremony, unique to the two of us, and perfect for our wedding day. Justice of the Peace Michelle Lydon and her team are absolutely fantastic! My husband and I were married at Lydon Chapel in May 2016. We contacted Roberta about a week or two before to see if it was possible to arrange it all in time. Nervous about our crunch for time, she immediately reassured us and got us excited about our big day! Michelle and her team were able to create the perfect day for us despite our very short notice! From the moment we entered the Lydon Chapel, Michelle put us completely at ease about our impending nuptials while maintaining professionalism. The ceremony itself was intimate and beautiful. The decorations were romantic and the music was perfectly chosen! Michelle wrote sensational vows unique to the two of us. She also added her own touch of humor to make us that more comfortable and relaxed. Overall, our day was perfect and very memorable thanks to Michelle and her team!
Michelle is fantastic!! My now husband and I decided to travel to Boston to get married on our own since it was a second marriage for both of us. We first met with Michelle about a month before the ceremony and absolutely fell in love with her! We just loved her sense of humor (and her accent, too!) and how quickly and easily we felt comfortable that we had made the right decision about where to have our ceremony. We were able to customize every aspect of our day and just cannot say enough about how smoothly the entire process went. We've been back to the area a couple times since getting married in September 2015 and have considered stopping by just to say 'hi' and thank her again in person...that is how comfortable we felt with her after only spending an hour or so with her over the course of our planning meeting and ceremony day. Roberta, Michelle's daughter, was our Justice of the Peace, but unfortunately she does not have her own Knot vendor page. From the minute I began talking to Roberta she immediately made me feel like our wedding was the most important thing to her and her excitement and enthusiasm to hear about and learn every detail solidified for us that we had made the right choice. When we met with her, it was like we were old friends and we were so at ease. She gave us samples of some beautiful readings, vows, and a really touching hand ceremony as a way to incorporate our 13 year old daughter into the ceremony. She also encouraged us to add anything we wanted into it to make it personal to us (we chose one reading and wrote our vows) She took down all the names of our vendors so she could go and meet them personally and when she arrived (early) she came in to where we were getting dressed, met all of the readers and attendants and reassured us that she had everything and would cue everyone when it was their time. Our ceremony was perfection. I would not change a thing about it. It was so sweet and fun and emotional, Roberta is just amazing at what she does. I would highly recommend her!
Michelle is AWESOME!!!! From the moment my now husband and I met her, we knew she was the right person to officiate our big day. She took the time to really personalize our ceremony and just the perfect amount of HILARIOUS and magical. My husband and I did not want a very long ceremony and she was able to provide us with just that (approx. 15-20 minutes). My husband and I had the loveliest wedding ceremony thanks to Michelle. We got married in Boston Common with just our families present, and we requested a sweet and simple ceremony. We are a Catholic/Jewish interfaith couple and needed an officiant for our non-religious ceremony. Justice of the Peace Michelle Lydon was recommended to us from a family member, and she definitely did not disappoint! From the moment we met her, we knew she was right for us. She is such a kind, caring, spiritual person, and our ceremony was loved by everyone that attended. She came to our venue, south of Boston, and arrived a half hour early as promised. She provided a hassle free experience, and the ceremony was one less thing to worry about. I highly recommend Michelle! She is definitely worth it!
Michelle was amazing!! She made my Mom,Matron of honor and I feel like family. Everything was perfect from the moment I walked in the door to the moment we were officially married. The Chapel was beautifully Decorated for the holidays which was perfect since we were married on Christmas Eve. I would not have changed anything at all.

Justice of the Peace Michelle Lydon was awesome! She was very pleasant, upbeat and fun all while being very professional! Even though we choose from suggested vows and readings our ceremony was great and she made it feel catered to fit our individual personalitites and our relationship. All of our guests also commented on how great she was! Excellent customer service from both, Rose and Roberta; they were very quick to repsond to my numerous emails. I was nervous beforehand because I didn't know what to expect but once I arrived all of my fears when away. Rose was my coordinator for the day and she made sure that everything was all set and that I didn't want for anything. The chapel space is very nice, just what we wanted for our small ceremony with 20 guests. As we were leaving I said to my (new) husband that the whole experience was so great that I wanted to go back and get married again. I would highly recommend Lydon Chapel to any couple that's looking for a venue.
Michelle met us at short notice and invited us to her come for a pre wedding consultation. We immediately felt like we had known her for years. The stress of the wedding day melted away after Michelle arrived at the ceremony location. She was comforting and confident. It was just great having her there. As for the ceremony; it went flawlessly. Michelle is professional and commands the room. She delivered exactly the kind of ceremony we wanted. If we ever decide to renew our vows, she will be getting a phone call from us! Actually, I might just call her anyway to hang out with us sometime!
Working with Michelle was so easy and wonderful. We hired her based on reviews here and on Yelp. We wanted a spiritual but non-religious ceremony that was short and light-hearted. Michelle delivered just that, and we got many compliments on how awesome she was after the wedding. We met with Michelle just once before the wedding, for about an hour, and that was it. We were blessed to be so welcomed and loved by Michelle Lydon. With both of our families being so far away, and not being able to attend, her warmth and loving smiles and hugs, made our day extra special. Ahhh!! There are no words to express just how much we loved Michelle!! She is truly the best and captured us PERFECTLY at our wedding! We decided to get married in about a month and Michelle was really great, even working ina such short notice. I was worried about repeat everything because I'm Brazilian but she made the ceremony very smooth, funny and meaningful. Everybody loved and said we couldn't choose a better person! Michelle came highly recommended by our wedding coordinator who had also used Michelle for her wedding. Michelle and her daughter, Roberta, were very responsive and professional throughout the entire planning process. Michelle is hysterical and set us at ease as soon as we walked into her office. She took an interest in getting to know us a bit, and she was so flexible with regard to personalizing our ceremony. She provided ideas for readings and was so supportive of us when we told her we planned to write our own vows.
On the day of our wedding, Michelle arrived early to set us all at ease and answer any questions. She was such a warm and welcoming presence throughout the ceremony, which we were so grateful for given our nerves about standing in front of such a large group of people! She kept us all laughing and wrote a beautiful ceremony- just perfect.

I sent tons of emails with many "new bride" questions and Roberta got back to me quickly, with all the info i needed and with a great friendly feeling that relaxed me and made the entire process very easy.
We were looking for a very fast and simple ceremony so we chose the Sweet and Simple Office ceremony and it was perfect for us. Michelle had a great sense of humor, was easy to talk to and made the entire experience comfortable and stress free.
It was a wonderful and affordable day, we would highly recommend them!

We chose Michelle firstly as she provided a beautiful chapel and we were unsure of where to actually have the ceremony. Secondly, after watching an interview of her on Fox 25 news I knew her personality was warm, fun and sincere. We only met once before the ceremony but we immediately clicked and on our wedding day it felt like a lifelong friend was marrying us. We worked together to have the wording of our ceremony exactly as we wanted it. Michelle and her daughter Roberta responded same day to many emails with 'silly' questions I had and nothing was too much. We even had a videographer and photographer booked through them. Everything was as perfect as perfect can be and I would highly recommend Michelle and The Lydon Chapel to any engaged couple.

Michelle Lydon and her daughter were available all the time, and were able to get back to me quickly with any questions we had. She made everything so easy and even helped us find the perfect place for our wedding night dinner. The actual ceremony itself was so sweet and perfect, the chapel room itself was simple and elegant. I feel we got very special treatment for our big day. Also the total price included a photographer and videographer so I feel we got a great deal. Michelle performed one of our friend's wedding ceremony and we were so impressed that we hired her for our intimate gathering on 12/21. Michelle's passion for what she does and the enthusiasm she shows for bringing couples together is what really drew us to her- after all, who doesn't want a happy, passionate person involved in one of the biggest days of your life? We weren't the only ones impressed though. Many of our guests also raved about how she was one of the best officiants they had ever seen.

My wife and I chose Michelle Lydon to officiate our wedding and we couldn’t be happier with how the ceremony went! We don’t live in MA and she was more than willing to Skype/FaceTime with us so we could get to know one another. She added all the personal touches we wanted to include during the ceremony. The ceremony was personal, had a few funny moments and was well rounded. She was witty, charismatic and made us feel at ease. Michelle Lydon was on time (if not early), organized, had our marriage certificate promptly mailed back to us and fulfilled all requests that we had. We would definitely recommend her to others! Michelle was absolutely incredible! She made us extremely comfortable even when we were 500 miles away trying to plan our wedding! She got back to us extremely fast via email and/or was available always by phone. My husband said that due to her personality, it helped him with his nerves prior to me walking down the isle!
