We can not say enough wonderful things about Justin! Justin was a dream to work with for our wedding. He is super responsive, extremely personalized in his approach, and very organized. Not only will we have the most beautiful pictures, it was also really fun to have Justin there on the day! He's easy going, super helpful, very professional, always funny and genuinely just great! Multiple people have said to me that our photographer ran the show in the best way. And he did! We're so thankful he was a part of our day!

Justin McCallum was an absolute dream to work with as our wedding photographer. I have known Justin since he was a photography collaborator and teacher to me in my college years. Even though my expectations were set high from knowing Justin, From our initial consultation through the big day itself, his professionalism and dedication to capturing our vision exceeded in every way. Before our wedding, Justin took the time to have several detailed conversations with us to understand exactly what we were looking for. Honestly, it also helped us understand what to expect on our big day, and what to plan for! These planning calls were invaluable in ensuring he knew the specific shots and overall vibe we wanted to achieve. His attention to detail in this preparation phase really set the tone for a smooth and successful wedding day. What truly set Justin apart was the incredible energy and positivity he brought to our wedding day (and the joy he brought to every planning session). Wedding days can be nerve-wracking, especially when it comes to being abnormally highly-photographed (for us at least)--Justin made us feel so relaxed, and had an extraordinary ability to put everyone at ease. Even with wedding planners, a DJ, and lots of other contributors, Justin was the real MC of our day. Justing had us feeling like the most stunning versions of ourselves, and laughing loudly and often. His encouraging presence and professional demeanor helped calm our nerves and allowed us to fully enjoy the day we spent months planning. We hired Justin for 10 hours of coverage on our wedding day (August 24, 2024), and he maximized every minute. From family portraits to our first look and throughout the entire celebration, he captured everything beautifully. The assistant photographer he brought along complemented his work perfectly, ensuring no special moment went undocumented. When we received our photos, we were absolutely floored by their quality and exactly the "vibe" we were trying to create. Justin has an exceptional eye for composition and lighting (no surprises), and his images perfectly captured both the big moments and the small, intimate details of our day. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly recommend Justin McCallum for wedding photography. His combination of technical skill, artistic vision, and wonderful personality is absolute photo magic. Having Justin shoot our wedding and reception was easily one of the best decisions we made. As two people without social media who don’t feel comfortable taking pictures, Justin made us feel at ease and very confident in front of his lens. Both our engagement and wedding shoots were full of laughter and fun, and it is evident in the incredible photographs that we get to look back on for the rest of our lives. Justin begins with in-depth conversations over Zoom and even an in-person drinks ahead of time to ensure that personalities matched, and that expectations, wants, and needs, are clear. He asked thoughtful questions, even down to how he could intercede in awkward or unpleasant moments during the wedding, which was above and beyond his job description. This attention to detail clearly reflects how personable, thoughtful, sensitive, and compassionate Justin is. He also was so proactive and flexible in ensuring that we were inclusive and accommodating for special needs family members, which literally made me cry because that can be something very challenging to navigate and for Justin, it was just him being a good human and very good at his job. The photos themselves came out unbelievably - to the point where we gifted our parents photo albums and other family members requested copies of their own! When we originally searched for photographers, so many wedding portfolios felt like stock images or standard, canned, or trendy poses. Justin is truly in a league of his own. His style is unique, and that is what grabbed our attention in the first place. He has a way of capturing the essence and individuality of each couple that is unparalleled. All of our friends and family continue to rave to us about how wonderful and fun he was..and we know because we had to literally purchase a digital frame to deal with the happy “problem” of having TOO MANY AMAZING photos. TL;DR: Hire Justin. Thank us later.

Justin is an amazing photographer with a natural talent for making you feel comfortable in how you look! I was nervous about getting our engagement photos done -- nervous about what I would wear, how I would look, the whole process -- but Justin put me at ease, making the experience a pleasure and producing lovely, memorable photos to boot. Starting with preparation, Justin guided us on what we'd need for the day, setting us up for success. During the photoshoot, he always knew how to get the right kind of smile out of us! It was fun and collaborative and produced the kind of love and confidence you can see and feel in the photos he took. I highly recommend Justin. You and yours will have such a great time!

I don't even know where to start! TL/DR: Hire Justin. If you are looking for a person who is as responsible as he is fun, whose pictures are an absurdly brilliant mix of editorial, candid, and artistic; who manages to capture the most joyful moments in the most moving ways, look no further. Photography was important to me; as a bride who had many friends go down the aisle before me, I tried to heed their advice: the photographer is perhaps the most important investment you can make. When I saw Justin's pictures, one word came to mind: "joy."  There was a vibrancy and humanity to his work that made me tear up just looking at his website.  This, combined with the very obvious technical skill he possessed, made me thrilled that he was still available on our wedding date.  Our initial phone call set the tone for the whole process: fun and incredibly thorough and organized.  Indeed, throughout the whole process, Justin was our go to for any questions we had; as the photographer, it made sense for him to keep an eye on logistics, but we were unprepared for how above and beyond Justin would go to make sure our day ran smoothly, from the planning process to execution. Don't let his insanely fun personality fool you: at our wedding he was heads and tails the most professional person there, ready with his shot list, keeping things moving; and yet somehow managed to keep the mood light, fun, and a little bit raunchy. Indeed, a good word for Justin is "prepared."  We had a survey to fill out before our big day, to let him know just what elements were most important to us. When I saw the photos, I couldn't believe how closely he had followed this. The sheer artistry on display, and the range of shots, it didn't seem like just one person could be responsible. The variety and quality was incredible.  And that was a direct result of our having asked for that; that is the wonderful thing about Justin, he cares deeply about his clients and pays attention to them; despite his talent there is no ego involved. He also seems to care deeply about his clients' family...and their friends...and all the wedding guests; everyone commented on how friendly and professional and fun he was. I could go on, likely, forever, but a final note: for my husband and I, the most important thing was capturing the people who came that day to celebrate with us; that was what we wanted to remember most.  We told this to Justin, and when I got the pictures back, I was blown away-- his ability to capture the essence of our family and friends, the way he captured distinct mannerisms, gestures...it was uncanny. That requires training, and artistry; but also kindness, empathy and depth.  Justin has all of those in spades.  It was important for my husband and I to hire someone we wanted to spend the day with; we didn't want him to leave! In post-production, Justin has been just as generous with his time and wrapping up any loose ends.  He stays in touch and makes sure you are thrilled with the final product. It was a pleasure to get to know him and we hope we are cool enough for him to be a part of our lives forever!  

Choosing Justin as our wedding photographer was the best decision we made in our wedding planning! Working with him was an absolute blast - he brought so much energy, creativity, and laughter to our special day. From start to finish, Justin's professionalism and years of experience shone through, and his ability to capture us, who are not always the most comfortable in front of a camera, was truly impressive. He also went above and beyond to be flexible with our schedule and preferences. We felt like we were hanging out with a friend who just happened to be an incredibly talented photographer. Justin was phenomenal to work with! We hired him as we noticed how, compared to the other photographers we were considering, his images evoked fun and a world of vivid colors, and above all, everyone in his photos looked HAPPY, which is a harder quality to find in professional wedding photos than you might think. Anyway, Justin did not disappoint! While a consummate professional, he was also incredibly fun to work with and was great at putting us at ease in order to get the best, most natural photos possible. He brilliantly captured the warmth and love of our wedding day. We felt seen and understood throughout the process of working with him, and the resulting images were gorgeous, bursting with light, color, and joy.

Before we picked any other vendors, we knew we wanted to work with Justin. Choosing our photographer first was partially logistical and mostly because we loved him – he was the photographer at a wedding we were in previously, so we were lucky enough to get some first-hand experience with him and how he works! Justin makes everyone comfortable in front of the camera, regardless of experience. He’s so kind, affirming, fun, and funny that he makes it easy to feel like your best self in the photos. That wedding had a huge wedding party, and he did a great job at making the whole group look and feel fantastic, so we knew we would feel comfortable with him for our wedding. One of us is very camera-shy, so his kind and fun demeanor, while producing stunning photos, made him the only photographer we wanted to work with. Once we secured our wedding planner, the first thing we all did was compare dates with Justin because it was that important to us. We also hired Justin for our engagement photoshoot to use the photos for our Save-the-Dates – we can’t recommend that enough! It was the perfect way for us to practice getting photographed by him, and for him to get to know us as a couple in advance. He provided the most fun and thorough get-to-know-you questionnaires and calls prior to working with us that made us feel like he cared to deeply understand who he was photographing. He put so much time, thought, and dedication into our engagement shoot and wedding day – it made us feel so special, and every photograph we have feels perfect for us. On your wedding day, you’re around your photographer and their people ALL day, and they’re interacting with everyone else at the wedding. You want to hire a good person who can seamlessly integrate themselves into the day, get the shots you want, and still be having fun by the end of the day. Justin is absolutely that person, and everyone he works with matches those high standards as well. He advocates for you to make sure you get all the shots you want, plus so many you never knew you wanted but then can’t live without. We never felt steamrolled by any guests or family members because Justin kindly and strategically prioritized us and worked with our planner to keep us on schedule without us ever needing to keep track of the time. He made everyone comfortable in front of the camera through fun prompts and silly jokes and somehow maintained an enviably high energy level the entire day! Everyone at our wedding loved him and his second shooter, Carly, and only had great things to say about them. The end result of each day was stunning and we are obsessed. We attempted to “narrow down our favorites” and still ended up with hundreds of photos we absolutely love, from silly and loving candids, to directed moments that captured the feelings perfectly, and stunning posed shots that make us and our friends feel like models, Justin brought it all and we couldn’t be happier!

Justin did a truly beautiful job in photographing our wedding at NYC’s City Hall and in short, we cannot recommend him enough. He is a beyond talented photographer and knew seemingly everything about how to capture the joy and excitement of us getting married. Just as importantly, he was a tireless cheerleader for us and had an encyclopedic knowledge of places to go and ways to compose pictures that are beautiful, varied, and memorable. The result of Justin’s efforts was a book of wedding photos that we were thrilled by, shared with all our family, and will treasure for the rest of our lives. He is truly an exceptional photographer and cannot be recommended more highly.

We absolutely loved working with Justin! We were totally overwhelmed with the whole process and he made us feel comfortable and calm at all times. He is super responsive to all messages and never once left us hanging. On the day of the wedding he was a blast to have around and made everyone relaxed and always laughing. We got so many compliments from our wedding party and guests about how hilarious he is! How he managed to wrangle everyone for all the family photos is a mystery to me. We are awkward and not always “picture people” and all of the pictures we received are stunning! He truly makes you feel that your wedding is his favorite. I cannot recommend Justin enough, if he’s available book him immediately!!

Hiring Justin is one of the best decisions we made while wedding planning. My husband and I are by no means models and Justin made us feel so incredibly comfortable both on and off camera! Our bridal party and families also said how comfortable he made them feel as well. He has an arsenal of jokes and prompts to create natural smiles and the most incredible pictures. He also took all of my weird picture ideas and turned them into something beautiful. Our photos have come out absolutely amazing, and we have received so many compliments on them from friends and family! As well as being widely talented, he is also the most wonderful human. We would hire Justin again in a heartbeat!

We can’t say enough wonderful things about Justin! My husband and I recently got the first batch of our wedding photos, and they look exactly the way the day felt: beautiful, warm, and authentically happy. From our first call, it was clear Justin understood exactly what we wanted from our wedding photos, and from our wedding in general. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, he was kind, respectful, and genuinely interested in getting to know us. By the day of the wedding, we were excited to hang out with him and introduce him to our friends! We absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVED our engagement photo session and photos from Justin McCallum. The whole experience with Justin was amazing. My fiancé and I felt so at ease, and we wish he could photograph us all the time. We knew we were going to have a good time and the photos were going to be great but the whole shoot really exceeded our expectations. One of the things that was important to us was to have our dog be a part of our engagement shoot. Justin was so accommodating and had no problem incorporating him into the session.   I was particularly worried about how people were going to react with how I look in our photoshoot. I'm a proud plus size girl, but my whole life it has been rare for me to take a photo without SOME sort of comment about my appearance from others. There was a good two years where I just did not take photos of myself which I really regret. When I got the photos back from Justin I just felt so beautiful and confident, really how every bride should always feel. I did not care what comments were coming my way because of how proud I was of the shoot. I'm crying writing this which is silly but I want everyone to know how beautiful I felt in my engagement photos! We absolutely recommend Justin to everyone. If you are not someone who is used to the camera or uncomfortable in front of the camera, definitely book with Justin, he will make everything easy and you will feel beautiful!

Justin is an incredible photographer. I fell in love with his photography way before even getting engaged was up for discussion. I had high hopes, and they were exceeded. As someone who feels extremely awkward in front of a camera, it was crucial to have someone who helped us feel natural. I know everyone says it in their reviews, but it's true - Justin is genuinely friendly and great at helping you feel secure and confident in having the type of wedding you want most (and then swooping in and capturing it all.) I am not exaggerating when saying that before our sweetheart session, my spouse and I had ZERO photos of us kissing or any other PDA because we both felt so awkward! You'd never know from our sweetheart session - Justin is a rockstar at helping his clients feel relaxed and feel like they're able to be themselves in front of a camera. Throughout the day, Justin was incredible at helping us feel like we were the stars of the show, without the tremendous pressure of "This Is Your Day." He had us laughing early and managed to whisk us away for some reflecting, romantic evening photos as well. Our family also raved about him, and I think my spouse's sister is now obsessed with recreating the posing from one of Justin's cues in every family photo now until the end of time. I didn't feel stressed about worrying whether we'd get all our "loved ones" or whether we'd have time for "golden hour" photos (yes, and yes.) I didn't overthink how I looked. I was able to enjoy being in the moment, and as a chronic overthinker, that's priceless. We were gushing about Justin's work from our sweetheart session and we were absolutely blown away AGAIN. Somehow, Justin successfully captured even more incredible shots. The gallery is authentic, romantic, silly and just so US - and it's just the previews! I can't wait to hang even more of Justin's stellar work in our home. I know whatever projects Justin takes on, the results will be vibrant, joyous, and authentic. You couldn't ask for a better person to be alongside for such an important event.

We hired Justin to photograph a sweetheart shoot and our wedding. My husband and I don’t really do photos of ourselves and felt super awkward about it all, but Justin broke the ice quickly with some funny prompts at our sweetheart shoot. By the wedding, we felt much more relaxed about the photo process. Justin was able to navigate family drama, various groups of friends, and some small spaces to create an amazing album of photos that was even delivered early! You can really feel the emotions of the day in the photos. I liked that he included some beautiful portraits of our guests - we had a small wedding and our chosen family is super important to us. All said, we would (and will) recommend working with Justin!

I lucked out in life because I met Justin in college so I had this WORLD CLASS PHOTOGRAPHER in my back pocket from day one. So when I got engaged, there was only one person I trusted with our wedding photos. My husband and I *hate* taking photos, but Justin made us feel so comfortable. My husband also has a large, loud/slightly obnoxious friend group, and Justin was able to handle them all perfectly while taking the most gorgeous photos. We got our previews this week and EVERYONE is obsessed with every photo. My mom, my husband, my mother-in-law - everyone. We were talking about his approach this week and what stood out for us the most is how vibrant Justin is while taking portraits--he's so supportive, COMMITTED (he almost fell in a pond trying to get THE SHOT), and fun that we're grinning like idiots in every photo. *Then* he disappears in the background, and you just live your life, experience your wedding, and every meaningful, loving moment of the day is impeccably captured without a single pose. As his friend, I am so impressed and proud of how amazing he is at his craft. As his client, I am obsessed with every photo I've received so far and so so so glad he was the one to capture our special day. Also, my husband and I are not the most lovey dovey, we love quietly and in our own way, and I don't know how but Justin was able to capture that perfectly--all of that joy and love in its most genuine form. I'm just blown away. Y'all cannot go wrong hiring this man - he's absolutely amazing!!!!

I do not think I can say anything bad about Justin. He was super professional and super fun to work with. We have been working with him since our engagement photo shoot in 2019 until our wedding finally happened in September 2022. He definitely goes above and beyond for his clients, making sure to understand them and what they are looking for. He also has cute, creative ways to make the people in the pictures cooperate. Even though he was not able to attend our wedding due to illness, he has a lot of support to help make sure we had coverage. All of the pictures have been amazing! I would absolutely recommend to book him.

Justin is incredible! Right from the start, we could tell he was the perfect fit for us. He’s warm, hilarious, thoughtful and goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. He’s generous with his time, has a great eye for beautiful and unique shots and is always ready with a joke or an idea to diffuse any potential stressful situations. He does his homework and really learns about the couple, their friends and family so that he can both work efficiently and make everyone feel like they’re working with a friend. He goes above and beyond for his clients, even generously tipping a kid’s lemonade stand to allow us to take photos with her dog on our wedding day! He also goes above contracted expectations, doing whatever it takes to get the great shots and providing way more photos than we expected! Our engagement photos were beautiful, we loved the wedding teaser shots (which we received incredibly quickly), and the full set of wedding photos were magical. There are so many and they are all perfect!! He doesn’t know this yet, but we hope he’s ready to be our go-to family photographer! We could not recommend him more! His assistant Kamilah was also professional and pleasant and helped get some great shots!

If you are looking for a sign to hire Justin, this is it! He is so talented (as his portfolio shows), has the best energy both before and day of, and is so inclusive. He handled our big loud crazy families so well, and somehow managed to be everywhere at once while blending right in with the party. I will definitely be going back to Justin for all other major life events I want photographed, and couldn't recommend him highly enough!

First and foremost, Justin’s photography is fantastic — he is a true, trained professional. The photos from our wedding day exceeded all of our expectations. He found the absolute best locations for us to take posed pictures and he also captured the most fantastic candid moments. I truly don’t know how he was able to be everywhere at once. Also - Justin’s energy and demeanor puts absolutely everyone at ease. He is so hilarious and fun to be around it made the pictures and our smiles that much more genuine. He was such a wonderful presence at our wedding. He was also incredibly flexible with all our planning and arrangements. Everyone that interacted with him remarked on how incredibly warm, confident, and supremely skilled he was. I truly truly cannot say enough good things about him. He is honestly the best there is on every level.

WE LOVE JUSTIN! My husband and I initially hired Justin to take our post-tiny-tiny-pandemic ceremony photos. Justin made us feel so comfortable and really brought out the best in us. We knew we needed him for our later reception. Once again, Justin blew us away. Our teaser photos have us blushing we are so happy! Other than being a wonderful human who makes photos so easy, Justin has a way of making the session and the resulting photos so natural. His style of editing is timeless. I know I will still be enamored with our photos in decades to come.

My husband and I chose Justin to be our wedding photographer. I knew we would instantly get along with his infectious energy! We met, discussed our wedding vision. Our wedding was scheduled for April 2020 and was canceled being at the height of covid. Justin constantly checked in on us, and together we adjusted our vision. Justin worked his magic and was able to do an engagement/maternity shoot with us, and just recently we did a family photo shoot with our daughter. While we didn't have our big wedding, Justin photographed our biggest moments. We are very thankful and have the most amazing photos & memories of working with him.

Justin is hands-down the best wedding photographer! He makes everyone comfortable in front of the camera. We hired him for an engagement shoot and wedding - then when we postponed our wedding party due to COVID and had a small outdoor ceremony, hired him for that too! He was flexible with rescheduling and honored our original contract for the full wedding party, always thoughtfully checking in to see how we were faring through the postponement process. He offered to help in any way he could and went beyond photographs to help review our wedding day schedule and give advice from his professional experience. His prices are a great value for the photos you receive. We look like we belong in a magazine photoshoot (and we definitely just look like regular people the rest of the time). But best of all, Justin is such a fun presence that we can't imagine our wedding without him! If we hadn't hired him for photography, after working with him twice for the engagement shoot and tiny wedding ceremony, we might have invited him as a guest! We really cannot recommend Justin enough!

We cannot say enough good things about Justin McCallum. No matter how we word this post, we will not be able to do him and his work justice. But anyway here it goes. Justin was kind to everyone in our family. He was patient with us when we wanted to make adjustments and changes. He is hard working and did everything in his power to capture all the important moments of our day that we didn’t even realize we would want captured. He makes those not natural in front of the camera feel comfortable. When we got our pictures in a timely fashion from him we could not have been happier! Family and friends who were not able to celebrate with us (small wedding due to COVID restrictions) were brimming with happiness when they saw the pics. Justin is the best. I was blown away by both my engagement and wedding photos, and we plan to hire him again for a family photoshoot with our dog in the near future. In addition to being a talented photographer, he is incredibly funny and smart - everything you want when you're spending your wedding day with someone!

Justin photographed our micro-wedding and wow was he amazing! Justin put everyone at ease and got everyone to laugh so there was no nervousness at being in front of a camera. Justin is a certified grade-A superstar. He is an amazing photographer and human that my husband and I have worked with him 3 times now - with another event on the horizon! As a college friend who followed his career, I was so excited to finally see for myself how the magic happens - how he is able to capture such stunning and authentic moments of joy and love. The secret? A combination of ridiculous jokes, an infectious enthusiasm for creative opportunities with light, scenery, and poses, and lots and lots of meticulous planning. We booked Justin first in 2018 for a sweetheart/headshot session in Boston, and though we were a bit nervous at first, Justin’s comedic prompts (ex. laugh like a villain) allowed us to let our guard down and get comfortable. Our engagement session in Maine in 2019 was even better - when the golden hour lighting was just SO perfect, it was so fun to hear Justin’s squeals of delight from behind the camera after each shot. That night we ended up taking even more photos than we had planned, and even though it was unseasonably warm, the photos captured the perfect autumnal vibe we were going for. Our wedding day was planned for Oct. 2020 in Maine, and when it became clear that the pandemic would force dramatic changes to our plans, we were so thankful for the calm, positive reassurance that Justin brought to the table as a key vendor. We also admired Justin’s firm resolve to keep himself and his family safe, and worked with him and our planner to make our 15-person, mostly outdoor event as low-risk as possible. As a former stage manager, I applaud his organization and preparation for the wedding day - and not just because of the COVID-19 precautions! Before the wedding he sent us a long questionnaire to fill out about all the details of our day, including shots we wanted, who was who and how to get them to smile, and what we wanted prioritized in our photos. We can testify that he absolutely checked everything off our list! In order to be best prepared for the shoot, he even came to the venue the day before during the rehearsal and scoped out great locations for portraits and angles for the ceremony. On the day of, Justin’s presence was a huge dose of positive energy and excitement - even with two masks and a face shield - and he managed to easily capture so many gorgeous moments of our day all while keeping a safe distance. When an unexpected rain shower came through and left the most beautiful clouds and light I have ever seen, Justin was quick to change our photo timeline in order to take full advantage of the stunning setting, resulting in photos that make us look like we are in a Taylor Swift music video. The teaser photos he sent us a few days after the wedding absolutely blew us away - and when Justin delivered the rest of the photos weeks later, we were absolutely delighted. Every single one is spectacular and so special. Since our event was so small, many important people were not able to be present, and we are so thankful to have the gorgeous photos to share some of the joy of the day. It comes as no surprise then that we plan to book Justin once again for our second wedding event in 2022 - a larger celebration when things are safer. We could literally go on and on about how wonderful and caring and talented Justin is, but we’ll let the fact that we have hired him for 4 shoots already stand as testament to his quality. My wife and I love movies. A lot. So much so that we're on a first name basis with the staff of our local multiplex. When we got engaged we knew we wanted to have our pictures taken at the theater. It seemed like a crazy idea and Justin jumped at the chance. He came to the shoot filled with ideas and a contagious enthusiasm. Even before we got the amazing pictures we knew we wanted to hire him for our wedding day. The photos from the engagement shoot made us even more excited for our wedding, if only to see what Justin would do! On the day of the wedding he made us feel comfortable and at ease the whole time. He worked with our wedding planner and videographer to make sure everything went buttery smooth so we could be completely stress free. Our friends and family loved him too! He managed to make what by all accounts should have been an uncomfortable few hours and turn it into a genuinely fun experience for everyone involved. The wedding party had a blast goofing around and posing together. In addition to his great eye for staging Justin has a way of capturing moments of beauty you didn't even know were there. Blink-and-you-miss-them moments like the belly laugh after a joke, the joy of dancing with old friends, and the most meaningful of shared glances. He managed to bottle the full range of emotions of our day and lay them out in stunning detail so we can relive it over and over again. Not only is Justin McCallum a phenomenal photographer, he's also a passionate lovely person who is a joy to be around as well as work with.

AMAZING photographer with a skilled eye and infectious personality! Justin did engagement photos for me and my fiance, and made the whole experience safe, fun, low stress, and just the absolute best from start to finish. Just is a great communicator and super flexible with arranging schedules. He took the upmost precautions to make sure everyone felt safe and comfortable during the shoot. I loved that he didn't do posing. He would ask my fiancé and I to tell him about a favorite trip we've been on or what we most loved about one another, and the result was effortlessly charming, beautiful, and organic photos. Justin knows how to use the light and the natural surrounding to do unique and fun pictures. We got our pictures back and were blown away with how gorgeous they were and how "us" they were. Justin really captured our personalities and the essence of our relationship. Bonus: He was also great with our corgi, who was included in our pictures! Justin was great! We had our wedding at Reid Castle in August 2019 and Justin knew the best spots in the castle to capture personal moments on our special day. He made everyone feel comfortable and accommodated all of our photo requests on the shot list. Justin met with us beforehand to discuss our wedding vision and followed through every step of the way. Our photos are amazing and we are thrilled! Justin is a class act from start to finish. Nick and I highly recommend Justin.

For context :::: We were one of the few weddings that happened in March 2020 — during the start of COVID & when the world was in intense panic/unknown. We went forward with our wedding anyway... but cut the guest list down to JUST 4 people to be safe — our parents. Details :::: Even though our plans changed last minute (literally 48 hours before the big day), Justin rose to the occasion! He was a lot of fun to work with, and he really elevated the mood. Justin also had a calming presence and was able to adapt quickly with the last-minute change of plans that was completely outside of our control. Which I think, in the year 2020, is KEY. Lastly, the final pictures were amazing. He sent them SO quickly. I've heard stories of people waiting weeks to get sneak peek pictures... his turnaround time blew me away. So, I imagine Justin would be even more delightful in "normal" circumstances... if there even is such a thing as "normal"! :)

Justin was really amazing to work with. All of the photos were really excellent. He has a wonderful demeanor, and a way of getting us out of our heads and just enjoy ourselves. Some of our favorite pictures were the goofier ones he had us take, which also helped us relieve some stress just before the wedding itself. Justin and his team were relentlessly positive and they were a delight to work with. Hopefully we don’t need to hire another wedding photographer again, but if we do, we’d hire Justin!

I could not say better things about Justin. My fiancé and I were nervous to do an engagement photo shoot in the middle of a pandemic (lol) but Justin made us both feel completely at ease, which is really saying a lot since we are both camera shy. Because we wanted to take photos in Central Park (again mid-pandemic - the only place people could go), Justin met us in the park at 7AM and walked all over with us to get the best shots. He was so easy to work with, made us feel comfortable and really encouraged us to be ourselves. Needless to say, his working style was 10/10. As for the actual photos, I AM NOT EXAGGERATING WHEN I SAY these are the best photos we have ever taken under any circumstance, ever. Not only has he completely captured our relationship but we also look great. If you are considering booking him for your wedding and went authentic beautiful photos that tell a story - you should hire him.

I should begin this review with the fact that I am a very self conscious person—I rarely like looking at photos of myself and the photos I enjoy taking are goofy ones where I can lean into my more unique qualities. So when it came time to choose who would capture our wedding day (and our engagement photos before that!) I knew I needed someone I could trust and who could make me feel comfortable. I’m so thankful that Justin McCallum is out in the world providing that exact service. Not only does Justin have a truly unique eye capturing traditionally beautiful photographs but he can see beyond the traditional as well and find angles you never knew existed! All of our staged photos came out perfectly, but my favorites from the day were the candids he captured where he just allowed us to be ourselves enjoying the day—those photos were where the true magic was found. Me taking in all my loved ones at the reception. A high five between my now husband and I before entering dinner. My best friend wiping away some happy tears. There are too many specific snapshots to mention that I treasure as much as the day itself. In terms of personality and professionalism there’s no one like Justin: he has a way of making you feel at ease and sensing when you’re feeling self conscious or sensitive and knowing how to bring you back to Earth. He can make you laugh naturally, asks questions that refocus and recenter yourself and is just amazingly kind and considerate to everyone around you. There’s no barking orders from Justin—he keeps his cool under the most stressful of circumstances and just felt like one of the gang on the day. I can’t count how many of my friends and family came to me after the wedding and told me “Justin was AMAZING” because he made us ALL feel special and beautiful. One of my favorite moments of the day was as the sun had almost set Justin ran up to us and said “I need to borrow you!” and he took us outside to where the sky was an indescribable shade of red and orange and took a gorgeous silhouette of my husband and I before he lost the light. It’s maybe my favorite photo ever taken. So please, if you’re looking for a wedding photographer don’t just take my word for it, take the word of everyone who was present at our wedding who felt just as blessed to be documented by an artist as talented and a soul as kind as Justin McCallum.
