K Hammock Photography is a visual studio capturing weddings across Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Cary, North Carolina, and beyond. Owner Kristen has always had a passion for photography, which she discovered when she won a neon green 110mm camera, selling the most cookie dough at a school fundraiser. Her journey as a visual artist has only developed since, and she honed her skills behind the camera with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Documentary Film Photography, where she mastered the ins and outs of color film photography and B&W darkroom printing and processing. She later ran her own darkroom and even taught classes, sharing her knowledge, skill, and love for the smell of developer and stop with photography protégés. Kristen's passion for that particular style of film photography has never stopped; for her, it's all down to the vibrant, honest colors, the imperfections, and the beauty of using light as a medium to create art. Photography has been Kristen's way of communicating her thoughts and ideas about the world for almost twenty years. Her work has mainly focused on documentary-style films and photoshoots that capture ephemeral emotions as they occur. She's been so blessed to share what she loves most with her friends, family, and community, and she can't wait to show you what her camera magic can do. Kristen's priority is to capture you as you are, in your element, and to learn more about your goals for your wedding photography sessions. Being a quiet observer of the world around her is where she's most comfortable, but she loves to jump in to help you make the memories you deserve.
