Went here for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The staff was so welcoming, the views breathtaking… I wish we stayed here instead of where we did! Better prices for a more peaceful beach. Within 20 minute walking distance of tourist-y Waikiki and wha...

Amazing location on the quieter side of Waikiki. The hotel sits on one of the nicest beaches on Oahu. We saw whales breaching out of the water at breakfast. A rare Monk seal visited several times during our stay. And we were able to spot sea tu...
rtles in the water off the jetty at the end of the beach
Service is friendly, quick, and competent. There's good quality (but expensive) coffee available at a little coffee bar on site.
The lobby, bar, and main restaurant are all open to the outside, cooled by gentle Trade Winds.
There are quite a few families with kids, but not in a overrun-by-chaos kind of way.
The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The towels, sheets, and amenities are very nice. Views from the rooms are mostly pleasant and tropical, but partially obstructed by neighboring buildings.

Great location away from the bustle of Waikiki but walking distance through the park. Ocean view king was great - view of the ocean, Honolulu, and mountain. Fabulous room with deck. Really nice open air lobby. Great food and service in the rest...

We chose the Kaimana Beach Hotel on a local friend's recommendation since we didn't want to stay directly in Waikiki, but also wanted to be close enough to Honolulu and the beach to go to dinners and see the ocean, and the hotel definitely fit...
s that bill. That being said, the hotel is older, and although they have updated the rooms, they are still small and feel like they are from the 60's. Also, we had upgraded to an "Ocean View" room, which was really a "City View" room that you could see the water from. We had dreamed of watching the sunset from our balcony and waking up to hearing the ocean, but we couldn't see the sunset without leaning over the railing, and we were woken up to hearing the roosters in the park below. (There was also a party in the park below the first night, which was a bit of a bummer).
The restaurant is very popular, so make reservations if you plan to stay in for any of your meals. The staff was very nice as well, so overall it was a pleasant experience.

We recently stayed at the Kaimana and were quite disappointed. We had a tiny room (and bathroom) with no view and a TV the size of a desktop monitor with limited cable channels--no premium channels or Smart TV/streaming capabilities. Strong sme...
ll of mildew met us as soon as the elevator opened to our floor and was also present in our room. No bell hop services. If you brought a ton of luggage, you're on your own. No vending machines or store on-site but there is a nearby convenient store if you need water, soda, snacks or forgot any toiletries. Hotel is very old. Vibes reminded me of one of the really old and unkept South Beach, Miami hotels. The hotel rooms are in dire need of a massive renovation. The only decent things about the Kaimana were the Hau Tree on-site restaurant and proximity to the beach. After spending 3 days at the Kaimana for business, we switched to a resort on Waikiki Beach to experience some extended vacation time and had a much better experience with a much larger room for less than what we were charged even with our special discounted rate at the Kaimana.
