My husband and I are not typically picture people- we are not comfortable in front of a camera. But Kaitlin has some sort of magic powers, because she made us feel relaxed and at home all throughout our wedding day! She is so upbeat and sweet, and even had a bag of emergency supplies from bobby pins to an extra ring box that saved us more than once at the wedding. She is confident, knowledgeable, and my husband I would hire her 10/10 times. Highly recommend, she's really the best!
Kaitlin was truly fantastic through our entire wedding process. We loved having her as our photographer and would recommend her to everyone!
We felt so comfortable with Kaitlin since the first time we met at our engagement session. She is very good at directing you to natural poses and making it a fun experience. Our engagement and wedding photos turned out beautiful. She is also very organized and professional. Highly recommend!
I cannot stress this enough: hire Kaitlin for your wedding or any life event that you want captured. Kaitlin is not only an amazing person, but also an incredible photographer. My husband and I had never gotten professional photos taken prior to our engagement session, and she made us feel so comfortable right away, which is key to getting photos that feel “you.” My family and friends continually rave about our engagement and wedding photos because you can feel the love, emotion, and happiness in them. These are some of the best days of our lives, and because of Kaitlin’s work, we get to remember each and every moment and how we felt just by looking at photographs.
Leaving this review even before we get our wedding photos back just because Kaitlin is THAT incredible. We knew from the initial phone conversation we had with her that she was the perfect match for us, both for our engagement shoot and as our wedding photographer. She is so warm and bubbly and makes even the most uncomfortable/awkward people (me) feel so at ease in front of the camera! The first time we met was for our engagement photoshoot and I told her how anxious I was about being photographed. She completely understood and was her charming, funny self throughout the session and it wound up being such a fun experience for me and my partner.
Fast forward to our wedding day last week and all I can really say is WOW. With everything that's going on during the day, it's incredibly easy to get stressed out, flustered, and overwhelmed, especially if things don't go as perfectly as planned. Kaitlin showed up so relaxed and excited, gave me a big hug the second she saw me, and it immediately calmed me down. At one point after I had gotten into my dress and we were doing portraits before the ceremony, she noticed that some makeup had gotten on my dress. Right away, she got on her knees to try to take care of it herself, all while remaining calm. She reassured me that she could edit it out of all of the pictures (if it even showed up in them), and that if my dress didn't get dirty on my wedding day, then we didn't do it right! It would've been SO easy for me to have let that ruin my day, but her comforting words of wisdom put me at ease and allowed me to have the absolute BEST time at our wedding. After all, since the first stain was out of the way, all the pressure of keeping it clean was already off!
It was so easy to work with Kaitlin and her team. She is always so friendly and eager to help however she can, she's VERY responsive to communication, and goes above and beyond for her clients. I can't wait for another opportunity to use her and will absolutely be recommending her to anyone I know looking for a photographer. We cannot say enough good things about Kaitlin!!
Kaitlin was awesome from first booking our engagement photos all the way through to finishing out the wedding album! She was great at getting great candid shots of us and our guests that captured the magic of our wedding day! When the weather threatened to intervene, she even went above and beyond in making sure that we (and our venue) made the right choices so that we could have exactly the day that we envisioned.
Kaitlin is an incredible photographer! We hired her to capture our wedding day after considering many Pittsburgh area photographers. Her portfolio was beautiful, but we knew she was the one after meeting her for the first time where with her warm personality she immediately felt like a friend we would want to join us on our wedding day. She was incredibly detailed and organized throughout the planning process. Our April wedding day was cold, dreary, and rainy but Kaitlin worked through this and our photos look vibrant and full of light (a critical skill for a Pittsburgh photographer). She made us so comfortable during the day and our photos just feel like us. I could not recommend her more highly as a wedding photographer or to capture any other important moments in your life!
Kaitlin is the best! We booked her for our wedding at the start of the pandemic. Throughout the entire process (engagement photos, rescheduling our wedding, and the weeks leading up to our wedding) she was so helpful. Both our engagement photos and wedding photos truly exceeded our expectations!! Kaitlin made working with her so much fun and really helped to keep me calm the day of the wedding. There are a lot of photographers in Pittsburgh but I would choose Kaitlin 100 times over, without hesitation. Thank you, Kaitlin!!!
Kaitlin Powell is simply one of the best photographers in Pittsburgh! During our home engagement session Kaitlin easily made us feel comfortable with being in front of a camera and it was great practice for the wedding day. Kaitlin and her second shooter went above and beyond by pinning on boutonnières and placing flowers on cocktail tables! She pays attention to details and values organization. Every time I look at our wedding photos I get excited all over again. When people look at our photos the first thing they say is “these are so you”! I love having this time in life captured and know that we also look like ourselves in them. Hiring Kaitlin as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made!
What a wonderful experience working with Kaitlin! My fiancé and I found Kaitlin on social media after we got our engagement photos done and I had a feeling I really wanted to work with her. Kaitlin offered fall mini sessions for couples and we immediately jumped on it. Kaitlin’s communication is one of a kind. She made us feel comfortable, relaxed and like the stars of the show. She made a special connection with each one of us in the short time we worked with her. Kaitlin even spent extra time with us and got our photos back to us so quickly. I could not recommend a wedding photographer anymore than her!
Kaitlin is an extremely talented photographer. Not only does she work very hard (she was with us for 10+ hours photographing all the important moments that we missed), but she made the entire process fun. Kaitlin's photos came out so amazing and they will be hanging in our home forever. These will be the photos that we show our grandchildren one day. She is worth every penny and more!

I do not have enough positive words to describe Kaitlin! From our first phone call to receiving our gallery, she is the most incredible human and photographer. Her photos are stunning and she is so incredibly talented - you will not be disappointed, and her personality is just as wonderful. Kaitlin took our engagement and wedding day photos, and we are absolutely in LOVE with them!!! She captured every moment perfectly, and knew all the best poses to have us do! She was so fun to work with, she was always smiling, knew how to make us laugh, and we could tell how much she loves her job! We loved Kaitlin! Our engagement was a shorter one during COVID & I feared it would be difficult to find a photographer. I found Kaitlin on Instagram & she was perfect! She did a video chat with us at the beginning to share her ideas with us. We originally didn't plan on doing engagement photos, but we are so happy we did! They turned out awesome. Kaitlin was awesome on the day of the wedding. She got all the pictures we asked her to and much more! She provided a timeline that was very helpful. She is so fun to work with & in the end, feels like an old friend and not someone I found on the internet. Our pictures are so beautiful and we are beyond thrilled with how they turned out. Can we give Kaitlin 6 stars???!!! She went ABOVE AND BEYOND as our wedding photographer from the very beginning. When we postponed our 2020 wedding, she was so supportive and flexible. Pittsburgh is my hometown but my husband and I live in Georgia- Kaitlin helped us so much in figuring out locations to shoot in the Strip District. She even drove us around a month before our wedding to point out her favorite spots! THEN, when our wedding day turned out to be cold and rainy, she took control in the moment and took us to all new spots that had coverage from the rain. I TRULY don’t know what we would have done if she wasn’t a part of our day!!! She knew exactly what to do, and her confidence kept me calm and positive. She’s also hilarious, friendly, and fun, and made us super comfortable in front of the camera, which led to the most beautiful and natural wedding photos we could have asked for! She truly captured US. Bottom line is, anyone can take pictures at your wedding, but if you want someone who knows how to think on her feet and who will go above and beyond to capture beautiful moments on your day, Kaitlin is THE only option!!!
Kaitlyn is a the sunshine that lights each photo she takes. She is extremely helpful, gives great energy in what can be an awkward experience for more introverted individuals, and she is very talented. I love her art’s aesthetic and she really listens to your own goals or expectations. I have only had engagement photos done, so the question about whether I hired her for my wedding is a bit unfair as we are eloping! I would love to do another session.
Kaitlin is an outstanding photographer, and my husband and I couldn't be more thrilled with our engagement and wedding photos! As a couple not used to being in front of the camera, Kaitlin quickly and effortlessly made us feel comfortable and happy during our engagement session. We had FUN and it showed in the photos! As a COVID wedding couple, Kaitlin was also kind and flexible in rolling with the punches as our plans changed frequently because of the pandemic. She was always supportive and helpful, making suggestions based on her extensive knowledge of the Pittsburgh wedding scene. On the day of my wedding, Kaitlin was a breath of fresh air! She was prepared, thoughtful, positive, funny, and generous. We didn't have a wedding reception because of COVID, and she even offered to pick up our Mineo's pizza so we would have dinner! In addition to her professionalism and wonderful personality traits, our pictures are STUNNING! Our wedding day was a cold, rainy November day in Pittsburgh, and Kaitlin still knocked it out of the park with our photos. They are timeless and classic, yet modern and fun, and really capture our personalities. I cannot believe I have these beautiful images to treasure forever, and that I'll hopefully someday be able to show them to my children. I can't recommend Kaitlin enough!
Hands down, Kaitlin Powell is the #1 photographer for weddings, engagement pictures, small mini sessions, you name it! Anything you need captured she will do that and more. We had Kaitlin do both our engagement photos and our wedding photos, which I highly recommend so she can get to know you to better to capture not just photos, but the entire mood and you as a person. I didn’t hire a videographer for our wedding and a large part of that was because when you have a photographer like Kaitlin every photo she captures from a portrait to a candid is real and raw emotion full of life. I say this next part so truthfully that Kaitlin became more than just our photographer, she was my shoulder I leaned on for advice with planning, she gave insight, she was a true support system through everything, and I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her, especially as a COVID effected Bride. I have already told I Kaitlin I want her to capture sessions for us in the future as well of our relationship and family as it continues to grow. I recommend her not just for weddings or engagements or mini session, but I recommend her for life because we will continue to have her a part of ours. Love you, Kaitlin, and thank you again for everything you did for us, and everything that you are! You are the best!
My husband and I both picked Kaitlin Powell as our first choice for wedding photographers because her photos have such a great balance between modern/moody editing and really natural, relaxed, and romantic poses. We also loved the diversity and inclusivity we noticed in her work which made us feel great about hiring her. Kaitlin has an incredible knack for making you feel comfortable in front of the camera and getting you to relax and enjoy the process. I really didn’t think we needed engagement photos, but we ended up loving ours, and our wedding photos are even better! She captured all of our joy and excitement on the day in spontaneous and beautiful photos that we will treasure for years to come.
Kaitlin’s work is AMAZING! She has the ability to make anyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. She did exactly that with my husband and I during our engagement session and then again on our wedding day! She captured the entire day perfectly and with such attention to detail. We LOVE our photos so much and will cherish them forever. I would also like to emphasize that not only does Kaitlin capture the day perfectly, she truly is there for her clients every step of the way. She went above and beyond for our wedding and played a HUGE role in keeping our wedding day running smoothly. Kaitlin has been wonderful to work with. Our wedding package included an engagement session and although we felt nervous and awkward in front of the camera at first Kaitlin quickly had us feeling comfortable and having fun! Kaitlin has been very communicative, understanding, and accommodating through the process of our changing wedding plans. Our elopement pictures turned out beautiful and we are looking forward to working with Kaitlin next year again at our delayed reception.
Kaitlin is the bomb.com! We used Kaitlin for our engagement session and had the most amazing time. I was very nervous to get our pictures taken. (I hadn't had professional photos since my senior pictures. ha!) And my husband was not very excited about getting his pictures taken. However, with Kaitlin's bubbly personality and fun antics, our moods was quickly changed. She was able to get us to open up, relax, laugh, and enjoy the photo shoot! We also appreciated her quick turn around with editing the photos and viewing the album.

Pants down the most fun I’ve ever had being photographed. Kaitlin has all the funny phrases and questions to elicit that perfect picture. She made us feel comfortable, attractive, and was one of the best dates we’ve ever had. My (now) fiancé and I still talk about how much fun that experience was four years later! You won’t regret trusting Kaitlin with whatever your special event may be!

Your wedding day flies by so quickly and all you’re truly left with are the pictures. I am so thankful we picked Kaitlin as our photographer and have so many beautiful memories to look back on. We were very impressed with Kaitlin and appreciate all she has done for us. The best ever doesn’t even begin to describe Kaitlin. I’ve known her for many years, and she’s truly an amazing photographer. As an all around artist, she has an excellent eye and does a great job with posing and weaving creativity and uniqueness into each session. She photographed my wedding last year, and I couldn’t have been more pleased. My horrible memory is so glad to have her photos so I can accurately relive the event over and over! Neither my husband nor I am very comfortable being photographed, but she made it relaxed and fun. Even some of the poses I was a little skeptical of turned out to be my favorites.

I knew several years before getting married that I wanted Kaitlin to be my photographer! Her work is amazing and I love that she aims to capture the unique love and relationship each couple has. I wanted our photos to truly reflect us and the special moments of our wedding day and she did just that! Looking through our photos is like being transported back in time. Communication is so important when it comes to working with wedding vendors and she answered every question I had quickly! She was incredibly professional the day of, and I had some unruly groomsmen but she handled them like a pro! She is worth every penny and as a bonus she’s a joy to be around and will keep you laughing all night! Highly, highly recommend!
Honestly, all I can say is WOW. Hiring Kaitlin as our wedding photographer was the second best decision I made on my wedding day :) She was so organized and thorough. Kaitlin is the BEST! Honestly, hiring Kaitlin was one of the best decisions that we made while planning for our wedding. My husband and I have always felt awkward in front of the camera (we legit only had 10-15 photos of the two of us together in 4+ years), so when we were talking to photographers, it was important to us that we find someone who put us at ease. Kaitlin is that person. From the beginning of our engagement session (I HIGHLY recommend having engagement photos done, especially if you're not used to being photographed), Kaitlin had us laughing and relaxed, and the photos were AMAZING! As the wedding approached, Kaitlin tossed out different ideas for photo ops - including some awesome colored smoke bomb shots - and her excitement and love for her craft really shone through. Kaitlin is a blast to work with, her photos are incredible, and I will ALWAYS recommend her to everyone I know!
As a wedding stationer and calligrapher I've had the joy of working with Kaitlin in several different ways, and each of my experiences with her have been wonderful. Over the summer she did an anniversary shoot for my husband and me and I still get emotional over the photos three months later! Getting photos with Kaitlin is basically like hanging out with a dear friend. She made us feel so comfortable and relaxed during our session, and she posed us in ways that felt totally natural. She captured who we are so perfectly, and I'm forever grateful that she helped us celebrate our 5 year anniversary in such a beautiful way!

Where to begin? From the moment we met, Kaitlin was welcoming, friendly, and extremely helpful with everything related to wedding photography. Neither my husband nor I are aspiring Instagram models or super comfortable in front of a camera, but Kaitlin helped us to not feel awkward or uncomfortable (and we actually loved taking pictures!). Kaitlin went above and beyond to capture the most amazing pictures, in addition to just being an amazing asset to our wedding team. She even helped to arrange a last minute bouquet when our florist mistakenly thought our wedding was on the following day! Her experience is invaluable and her charisma and personality are infectious and inviting. Do yourself a favor and book her ASAP! She’s simply the best! <3
If there is one vendor that you need on your wedding team, it's Kaitlin Powell. I'll start by saying, I. Hate. Pictures. I hate getting my picture taken, I've never felt thrilled with pictures of myself and always felt like the least photogenic person in the world. I was anxious about the idea of investing in photography assuming that I'd probably not like the photos anyways. Kaitlin completely changed my views and self esteem.
She has some sort of magical powers to make you feel completely comfortable and confident and takes THE BEST PICTURES EVER. My husband typically looks like a goon in pictures because he loses interest and starts making bizarre faces, but Kaitlin managed to keep him engaged (pun intended) and I literally could not be more pleased with our photos.
Besides the fact that she's a total photo boss and immensely talented, she's also the NICEST and MOST ACCOMMODATING person you'll meet. We actually ended up eloping (thanks COVID) and gave her about three days notice, and of course she put us at ease and delivered on our big day. I think there's a lot of great photographers in this city, but one thing you can't buy is a genuinely kind, compassionate and responsive person which is what you really need for your wedding. By the end of your photo session, you'll want to call her a friend and that'something that is priceless. I'm already looking forward to booking with her again for anniversary pics and future family sessions. Don't think twice- book Kaitlin now and you won't regret it!
Where do I even start with Kaitlin as our wedding photographer?! She is hands down the best wedding photographer you can ever have for your wedding. Mike and I are so happy we found her on Instagram! We had the best time with her at our engagement session, especially with how awkward Mike and I can get getting our pictures taken. She was so patient with us and her bubbly sweet personality make it even easier and fun!
When it came to our wedding, she was so understanding on the constant change of plans because of COVID and was always there for me when I needed to vent and run ideas by her. We ended up having a small ceremony and she went above and beyond as a photographer that day. I don't think our wedding could have gone so smoothly without her. She's honestly the best!!
I first worked with Kaitlin when she shot a friend's wedding. To say that the timeline was completely lost was an understatement -- the best part about Kaitlin? She still got every shot and she did it with an absolute sense of calm. When we got engaged, I knew she'd be the right photographer to help me manage my Type A personality and do it with a smile.
Flash forward -- When COVID-19 hit, Kaitlin was a sounding board. When we decided to postpone our wedding, she was quick with solutions. When we decided to elope? She helped us lock down a location, laughed and cried with us, and got the most amazing shots IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC. One of the only good things about being a 'Corona-bride?' I get to shoot with her again next year when we do a big celebration.
Quite frankly, she's the best there is. Her photos speak for themselves, but the experience she gives each and every bride and groom? It's priceless.
Booking Kaitlin to do our wedding photos and engagement photos was one of the best decisions we made about our wedding! First of all, the photos from our engagement shoot are beautiful and I knew we'd have amazing ones for our wedding. We got preview photos the day after our wedding day and I cannot wait to see them all!! Second of all, Kaitlin is so sweet and nice to be around. As soon as we met her, we knew we wanted to spend our wedding day with her!
