We had a terrific experience working with Jonathon and Elizabeth! From our planning meetings to the day of, communication was clear and professional, and they were helpful in executing the day we envisioned while also giving some guidance when asked. The reception was seamless from our end, and the evening flowed as planned. The music selection had nearly everyone dancing for the whole night - old and young. Our friends and families remarked "this was the best wedding music we've ever heard". We agree! Thank you for making our night unforgettable for us and our guests.

Tres was a total pro! Jonathan and the whole team were great to work with leading up to our wedding, meeting several times in person on-site and remotely. They coordinated physical and processional logistics seamlessly with us and captured our vision to perfection. Their years of experience and care were evident throughout our entire time with them. Tres was phenomenal at working with us on site the day of our wedding, showed up on time and was fully set up/ready to go with time to spare! He was able to make on the fly adjustments as well and made sure to check in with us/our planner regularly throughout the night ensuring we were all on the same page. Jonathan and his team were great! They worked with us as we had to reschedule our wedding from 2020, to 2021 due to the pandemic and were always very professional and accommodating, even through several last minute adjustments. We had also brought in other music for part of the wedding and were able to work seamlessly with the musician. I would highly recommend Jonathan and Kaleidoscope events for your wedding or event!

Kaleidoscope was incredible. We got married in a pandemic on Halloween and it was the best night of my life. There might not have been alot of people there but we danced our hearts out. Working with the team was professional and organized. They will make sure they get what they need even if you don't know what it is. Trust their process and the night will be everything you want and more! They are genuine, authentic and won't overdo it. The team is humble and will play what you want, not what's just popular. Their knowledge and experience will bring the house down and your photos will be everything and more. They also will move the wedding reception along without you having to skip a beat. The DJ and MC were great. We didn’t have a coordinator so they helped move the reception along to the timeline we created. Jonathan was great to work with. Any request from a guest he sought me out to make sure it was an approved play.

I have worked with Jonathan and his staff at multiple weddings in the past several years. When it was our turn for our daughter's wedding I had no doubt at all that Jonathan was the DJ for our wedding. They are so professional and have the best equipment, with awesome sound and lighting. We contacted Kaleidoscope on short notice (early July) for an Aug 29th wedding that had to be completely changed due to COVID. Jonathan was probably the most pleasant and professional vendor we worked with in the two weddings we planned. He was thorough, understanding, INCREDIBLE at follow up and follow through (can't stress this enough), and just gave me and my wife a very comfortable feeling from the first conversation. It is hard enough to keep all of your wedding details aligned and the fact that Jonathan kept track for us on where we stood, what items we still needed to get him, and sent friendly reminders throughout, was more helpful than I could ever express. And he did this all on a fast tracked schedule of less than two months. On the day of the wedding, Jonathan and Tres did a great job of allowing recommendations and requests, but also bounced many of them off of us. They kept the music fluid and in line with the vibe we hoped for. The truly ensured that it was our wedding and party and were focused on making it the best day they could for us. Kaleidoscope was definitely a highlight of our night. We couldn't write a more thrilling review because they are the epitome of a vendor you would want to work with. We wish them all the best, and hope that our review will help reassure you that they are a best in class service you should definitely explore.

We hired Kaleidoscope for our 2020 wedding. Many things went into planning a wedding during a pandemic, but one thing that always remained was the support from our vendors - especially Jonathan. I cannot say enough about Jonathan and the business he runs. Jonathan kept us focused on the things that mattered and when they mattered the most by politely sending reminder emails and scheduling zoom calls. Jonathan and his team are the best! They are professional, fun, on time and have a setup that goes above and beyond to bring your event to a higher level. They are attentive and on the ball when it comes to ceremonies and being cued for big day events. Kaleidoscope Events was fantastic for our wedding! They DJ'ed my cousin's wedding earlier in the year, and fortunately they were also free for my wedding day. They were excellent at both weddings. They kept the dance floor full and had seamless transitions between songs. I loved how they didn't play any "cheesy" wedding songs, like the Cha Cha slide or Cupid Shuffle (if that's your thing then they'll still play them if you request it). They were easy to work with when planning our wedding and made sure everything flowed. I knew I was in good hands with them and wasn't stressed about the timeline or anything day of. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a wedding DJ!

The music can truly make a break or wedding and if you hire Kaleidoscope, you really can’t go wrong! From the beginning, Jonathan was open to all of our ideas and allowed us to be as involved in the planning as we wanted. The ceremony and cocktail hour music was perfect, and he kept our dance floor packed all night long. We can’t say enough good things!

Jonathan worked incredibly hard to make our wedding reception all that we wanted it to be, and we are still blown away by how good of a job he did! The dance floor was always packed, and our guests still bring up how much they loved the music. Prior to the wedding, Jonathan took the time to review our timeline with us and made suggestions for how to make things flow more smoothly. On the actual day, he did a perfect job of MCing and reading the crowd, so that everything stayed on pace, and we didn't have to worry about anything. As soon as we walked in the doors of the reception, we were able to just enjoy the time with our family and friends and appreciated how he never had to insert any cheesy dances or commentary to get people out on the dance floor. He is also just a really great guy to work with. We felt good about hiring him and were not disappointed. We recommend him to every friend we can!

My husband and I recently got married on May 11th. We LOVED kaleidoscope events. We attended a friends wedding the year before and couldn’t seem to leave the dance floor because we were having WAY too much fun! After this we knew we had to have Jonathan as our DJ. We had a great experience with Jonathan as our DJ. Everyone had fun on the dance floor all night! He kept the night on track with our timeline and checked in with us when necessary. We asked him to make a special announcement for one of the songs we requested to be played and he had no problem with that. He also had suggestions for songs/types of music when we needed help deciding on songs.

Where do we even begin?! Jonathan truly made our wedding day over the top incredible!! From the very start he made a point of getting to know us and letting us get to know him, which allowed us to be completely stress free on our wedding day!! He mad the entire plan process so easy and seemless, and on the day of when it was projected to rain all day, he trusted my vision and desire to have the ceremony outside and did everything he possibly could to make that happen!! (And let me tell ya, when it rains up until 7 minutes before the ceremony, this becomes a little tricky!) but he made it happen and we are FOREVER grateful!! I cannot tell you how many guests are STILL telling me how much fun they had on the dance floor and we owe it all to Jonathan and Kaleidoscope Events! It's been a few years since our wedding occurred, but we still think back on it and what we remember the most was the party, the dancing, the laughter and celebrating that we got to do with so many close friends and family. Jonathan was our DJ and we really owe that to him. He has an instinct for keeping a crowd on the dance-floor. Even several years later, we still have people come to us saying that our wedding was one of, (if not THE) best weddings they have been to because of how fun and engaging the reception was. I have been to several weddings where the DJ uses the bride and groom as a way to make jokes or make light of really special moments. Jonathan (and in turn, Kaleidoscope Events) is just not like that. He is so supportive of what is happening and helps to draw out those beautiful moments and somehow gets every guest to engage. I recommend Kaleidoscope Events to every bride and groom I come across!

John and Jonathan were so amazing! They were helpful, kept in great contact throughout the planning, and really kept a close eye on everything for the whole ceremony and reception. They covered every base and took any problems or concerns off our shoulders. We decided to get a DJ at the last minute and I will never regret finding Kaleidoscope! I highly recommend, they are worth it!

Hooray for Kaleidoscope Events. That’s the best place to start. We were so grateful we found Jonathan and had Kaleidoscope Events as our deejay for our wedding in May. My husband and I planned our wedding from 2,000 miles away and I relied on reviews to source, what we considered, the most important vendor. I think the deejay is such a memorable component to the day and I’ve walked away from so many weddings where they didn’t hit the mark or were flat out rude to the guests. As soon as we had our first FaceTime meeting with Jonathan, we knew we had made the right choice. Jonathan and Elizabeth are so organized and they shared Google docs of the Must Play and Do Not playlists. They were right on top of the timeline and worked with us to find the right versions of our special songs and the ambient music for during dinner. The day of the wedding, they were so professional and their set up is just right. They didn’t have obnoxious screens or promotional posters. The uplighting was also tasteful. Jonathan was a great emcee and checked in with us before requests were played. He was even very helpful when I couldn’t find a Cheney Place staff member for a matter that didn’t concern him. We got so so so many compliments about our playlists and Jonathan’s choices. The dance floor was literally never empty. He brilliantly played two slow songs in a row which got SO many people out there with their loved ones. I still visit that beautiful memory. Do yourself a favor and book Kaleidoscope Events as soon as you can. You’re giving yourself a gift!

My now wife and I recently had our wedding in the St Joe/Benton Harbor area in Michigan and couldn't have been happier with the Kaleidoscope Events. The DJ/music experience was more than we could have possibly hoped for. We had a fairly large guest list with an even larger taste in music and we've received (and agree with) nothing but major compliments regarding the music and DJ experience. Kaleidoscope Events could not have possibly been easier or better to work with from obtaining initial contract through the big event.

NW Indiana outdoor wedding. Jonathan was a great DJ. Fully engaged in our music selections and taking over the MC duties at our winery location that had a lot of moving parts going on for the day of wedding ceremony and recption. He was the utmost professional and all of the prework we did together leading up to night of the celebration went off without a hitch. He customized our playlist to our liking and kept the dance floor and engery filled throughout the night which was our biggest requirement. He is very responsive and very talented. We booked our wedding date with Kaleidoscope one year in advance, and gave them a 50% deposit. It is now a few months away from our wedding day and they cancelled on us. We have not yet received our refund. It is in our contract that they would find a suitable replacement, which they did not do. At this point, we are scrambling to find a DJ while we are waiting to get our money back. I hope no other couple has to experience this!

Jonathan Swihart was our DJ for our wedding just two weeks ago and he did an incredible job! I only heard good things from the music he played during cocktail hour and our dance floor was full the whole night! He was very responsive when I asked him to play a specific song and even repeated a song since I was on the patio and missed it! My husband and I just had our wedding on May 21st, John was the best wedding DJ we could have ever asked for. He was very professional, easy-going and responsive. He acted as our party’s host for the reception. He regularly checked with us and to remind us of upcoming events on our timeline, kept us on track and on schedule, asked us for any special requests, and to make sure we were having a great time. Kaleidoscope Events also provided up-lighting for our venue. The lighting made a huge difference in how it beautifully accented the room decor and flowers. We are very happy with their excellent service and really appreciate it!

Jonathan worked very hard to understand all of our very unique needs (we had a bollywood dance section of the wedding) and accommodated some last minute requests. But where Jonathan really shined was when the dance floor opened up. His mixing was really great, he read the room really well, and he really kept the energy going. He's substantially better than any dj at any other wedding I've been to. Well worth the cost. We also had the delux lighting package which I think really took the night above and beyond.

John Wheeler was our DJ and did an amazing job! He communicated with us multiple times before the wedding and was super helpful with getting our timeline for the day in order. John was very responsive and helpful. On the day of, he was calm but very focused and kept everything on track. Our dance floor was packed until the very end (there was even an encore!). John's ability to read the crowd and keep the party going is really something! Since our wedding, multiple people have cited John and his assistant as one of the highlights of the whole day.

One of the best decisions I made on the wedding day, besides marrying the man I love :). John was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the planning process. We live in Virginia so we were unable to meet with John in person initially but he was happy to set up a skype call and helped answer all the questions I kept throwing his way. Leading up to the wedding he got on another skype call and spent over an hour going through the day with us planning everything down to the minute. Even on the day of the wedding we had to change some things up and John was so flexible and accomodating. We had a fairly small wedding but he had people out on the dance floor all night. I would recommend John and his team in a heartbeat. I was so incredibly happy with his upbeat attitude and professionalism throughout the entire process. Jonathan made it a priority to personalize all of the music. He asked a lot of questions beforehand to make sure he was playing music we would love. He kept the dance floor hoppin’, was very interactive, and all of our guests had an unforgettable time. Jonathan is well worth every penny. The quality and professionalism was outstanding! I could not have asked for more. He is one of a kind and you will not regret having him host your event.

My wife and I were more than pleased with job Kaleidoscope did at our wedding. Jonathon took the time to sit down with us before the wedding, making sure to tailor the entire DJ experience to our preferences and also filling in the blanks when we needed ideas. From announcing the wedding party to orchestrating the first dances, to making sure everyone got on the dance floor, we were so impressed. These guys are great. Would definitely, 100% recommend. I've been to three or four weddings in the past few years where Kaleidoscope has done the music. Somehow, they were able to get the -perfect- mix of classic songs and new songs. I have never seen so many people out on the dance floor at a wedding. I would totally hire them for my wedding someday (whenever that happens!).

Oh. My. Word. We booked Kaleidoscope Events for our wedding last summer... literally the BEST decision we made for our wedding. We met with one of their DJs, Derald, and we instantly knew that he would be the perfect DJ for our wedding. We couldn't have been more right. He kept things moving all night with our guests, as well as with the other vendors. He literally took all of the stress off of our shoulders so we could sit back, relax, and enjoy our wedding day! At the end of the night, all of our guests couldn't stop talking about how fun our wedding was-- due in large part to Derald's skills as a DJ and keeping the dance floor hopping. Everybody had such an amazing time at our wedding and it's all thanks to Derald and Kaleidoscope Events!

We used Kaleidoscope for our wedding in Benton Harbor, Michigan. We used John Wheeler as our DJ and Danika Wheeler as our day of coordinator. They are both so great to work with; professional, easy-going, and responsive. It was really nice that they are married and they could easily share information and work together. John walked us through the detailed wedding timeline helping us nail down every detail (including things we weren't even thinking about). He offered great suggestions and made us feel really comfortable about the big day. He also used google sheets to share music choices and song selections which was very helpful. Danika was a rocks star. She confirmed all vendors were set for the wedding day and met with us at the rehearsal dinner to talk about the wedding vision (in order to help set up decorations etc. and make sure everything turned out the way we wanted). The wedding and reception were both perfect and everything ran so smoothly thanks to John and Danika. All of our friends and family members danced the night away; we got a lot of compliments on the music. We were extremely satisfied with how everything went on the wedding day and would highly recommend both of them!

From the beginning I was extremely excited to hire John as our DJ. John made us feel really comfortable doing several skype calls with my fiancé and I leading up to the wedding. John helped focus us on how to create a timeline that flowed really well. On the day of the wedding it seemed that John may have been a little off his game from the previous conversations we had with him, we asked for uplighting and it was forgotten and it felt to me like the timing of the music for our ceremony was a little delayed (although we had an unusually short ceremony so I don't blame him for not being prepared for it to end that quickly!) I did have a couple guests tell me they felt he wasn't playing all their requests (and we weren't very picky with our music so not sure why) .This is the only reason I did not give John 5 stars. I will say even though John forgot the uplighting he remedied the situation immediately by apologizing several times and refunding us money. We are all human and people make mistakes and I don't feel it ruined my wedding in anyway. I do appreciate him being so understanding and immediately refunding the money as well as writing us several very heartfelt apologies. I would recommend John to anyone in the future in the Southwest Michigan area, we spoke to a lot of DJ's and even though there were some things that weren't 100% perfect, our wedding flowed very smoothly thanks to John and his expertise on creating a timeline and he was extremely helpful, professional and did an otherwise EXCELLENT job at our wedding.

If you're the kind of couple who wants to be extremely hands-on with their playlist (we are), then John is a great choice. He put together a couple of google docs that I could add to and work on in the year leading up to our wedding. I think he and I already have a very similar music taste, so even his pre-made dinner playlist was full of really good alternative music. He was very interactive with my guests, taking requests and also taking time to make the dance floor the life of the party. He's so likable and so natural in his announcements and is very easy to work with. I would recommend him to ANY and all of my friends getting married.
