Kammie was great and fun to be around but she didn’t provide many good pictures for us. She wasn’t very good at directing everyone on what to do for any of our photos. She rarely t...
old anyone where to stand and didn’t focus on getting people to pose the right way. It also seemed like there was very little time put into the editing process. When we got all our photos back either someone’s eyes were closed or the group was off center or people were just completely cut off on the side. It felt like she didn’t want to be there at all for us and it seemed like there wasn’t much effort put into anything throughout the whole process. We payed pretty good money for a photographer because that was the most important thing for us in our wedding but it turned out to be the worst thing we chose for our wedding. If you are thinking about using Kammie I would get another photographer.
I typically don't leave reviews, but after my experience with Kammie, I feel it's important to share. She presents herself beautifully on Instagram and is quick to respond until yo...
u book her. However, once we scheduled our engagement shoot, her professionalism drastically declined.
When it came time to choose a location, she was unhelpful. I suggested Payson, AZ, with pine trees in October, and she agreed without hesitation. The night before our shoot, she asked me where it was, as she hadn't written it down. When I reminded her of the location, she told me she had just been there and all the green pine trees were dead. I’m skeptical of this claim and was left scrambling less than 24 hours before our shoot to find a new spot. She wasn’t much help in suggesting alternatives. I ended up settling on her one suggestion, AZ Grand Resort, which I deeply regret. I asked for vibrant, colorful settings, and the resort had none of that—just plain, white spaces that were far from what I was hoping for.
After the shoot, she told me I'd have the photos within a week. A week later, I had to reach out to her. Her response was that she thought she’d sent them and would send them again once she got home. I didn’t receive the photos until the next day, and when I finally saw them, I was incredibly underwhelmed. The images looked unedited, flat, and nothing like the beautiful, polished photos she advertises. Even the posing felt awkward, which is the opposite of what she claims to specialize in.
When I tried to cancel, her response was short and dismissive, and it was clear she didn’t care about my dissatisfaction. After speaking with other brides and vendors, it seems that this may be part of a pattern of hers. Booking people and leaving them unsatisfied so they cancel which means she keeps the money.
I ended up spending over a thousand dollars for a disappointing experience. I would strongly advise against booking with Kammie if you're looking for a professional, reliable photographer.
We were looking for someone that works well with couples who aren’t used to being in front of a camera. We were drawn to a warmer, candid style shoot for our wedding, which is what...
you see on Kammie’s profiles.
Throughout our engagements, Kammie was responsive. I am a very detail oriented person, and it seemed like a lot of my ideas got lost in translation through texts and instagram messages. We feel that a lot of the concerns we had after receiving our album could have been mitigated with better communication and note taking.
On wedding day, Kammie arrived 15 minutes late to my bridal suite and then it took about 10-15 more minutes to figure out where to hang my wedding dress photos, which were just ok. I wish she had taken the reigns when she arrived and didn’t make me stop getting ready to help her.
Kammie had no plan for where we were taking photos and it felt like she was expecting me to manage my shoot, even though she had told me that meeting onsite wasn’t necessary, nor did she have time, and that she felt confident in just showing up to the venue. I had even sent Kammie a map of the photo areas on the property, but for some of the photos, we were placed in between buildings, which I did not want.
For every family photo, Kammie placed us in front of a hotel building, a gate, and empty dirty patio furniture, when the venue had tons of greenery, flowers and grass all over the place. Kammie admitted that she made these decisions on her own, without my input, which caused us to not find our family photos flattering. They are almost all crooked, as the gate behind us is not straight across, and there is a building behind us in every photo with an empty lounge chair. Kammie said that she was focusing on the people in the photos, not the background. I don’t find this answer acceptable. Everything in the frame is important.
After fixing 1-2 photos, Kammie told me that I can straighten them myself using my photo apps. It’s not appropriate to tell your clients to fix their own photos when they are paying you for this. Kammie also informed me that she doesn’t have photoshop. She told me she could not change my sisters blue hair in the photos, so my sister actually dyed her hair for my wedding to cover her blue. What photographer doesn’t have photoshop in 2024? I sent my photos to my sister to have her edit them. This is so wrong!
We spent thousand$ on a nice venue and now have forever photos with infrastructure and furniture behind us. So disappointing!!
My guests observed that Kammie was not very active during her shoot. She didn’t move around much and stayed in relatively the same area during each event. The ceremony photos are all from the same angle. The speeches and first dance photos are all from the same angle. There isn’t the creativity I was looking for, the sense that you’re there as you view the photos. They are so basic. I expressed to Kammie that I don’t see any editing and she claims that she edited them the same as her other albums. All I see is a warmer filter. There is 0 photoshop to smooth imperfections on my face. There are people with cell phones in their hands and messed up hair. There isn’t a single photo of me and my dad that is worth printing— I wasn’t ready for the photo. These details are important and shouldn’t be overlooked on a day like this. If you can’t ask someone to put their phone down, what are you really doing as a photographer? Going through the motions…
I even added time to the contract yet everything still felt rushed and unplanned.
And a HUGE disappointment was Kammie writing up an initial contract with a timeline of 3.5 hours, to “work with my budget” when really that was never going to be enough time. My event was 6 hours. I wish she had told me from the beginning how little time this was so I knew what I would be paying her. I had told her my budget and instead of giving me a reality check, she locked me in at 3.5 hours only for us to figure out down the line that I needed to add time and blow my budget. This was not professional. She put me in a position to have to come up with a lot more money weeks before the wedding. And I’m not happy!
The chemistry in the shoot for wedding was nothing like our engagement shoot and I am upset with what I’m left with for photos. I just wish my album reflected her work more and that there was better communication. Because the resolution we got to was… I was supposed to manage my photoshoot on my wedding day, and I do not agree with that. It’s the only thing Kammie had to say to me in the end- “you should have spoken up more!”
Unfortunately, when we received our album, it was not what we expected. Very basic photos and doesn’t have the wow factor her Instagram portrays.
In the end, Kammie informed me that she doesn’t typically shoot at wedding venues like ours. It was very disappointing to hear this after the fact, because had we known, maybe we would have kept looking for a better fit.
We feel that we definitely overspent on these services. Another issue was that she told me her hourly rate was $500/hr then took it back towards the end of our engagements. This is not right. I will not recommend someone that changes their word. No solutions were offered and I am stuck with these photos forever.
Do not wait. BOOK KAMMIE ASAP! We had the absolute pleasure of having Kammie as our wedding photographer April 2023. I found her work in 2021 and booked her right away and I am so ...
happy we did! Her work is consistently INCREDIBLE yet unique to every couple! She is also the kindest person and got every single shot whether we saw her shooting or not! Before departing she made sure we felt that we got every shot we wanted. She also shared a sneak peak the day after the wedding and delivered our gallery exactly 30 days post wedding! She is amazing at her craft and was so easy to work with. She has great relationships with videographers too! I cannot wait to work with her again soon to capture more of beautiful life moments!!
I cannot put into words how amazing Kammie is. Not only is she talented photographer, but she is the most incredible person. We loved every minute of working with her. As soon as ...
we saw her work, we knew she was the PERFECT person to capture our wedding moments. She captures the raw and candid moments in the most magical way. We have been obsessed with everything from our engagements to our wedding. Our wedding pictures were a literal dream and we will cherish them forever. I cannot recommend her enough!
Kammie is the BEST! It's as simple as that. I struggled to find someone to shoot my wedding because I'm so picky and wanted my pictures to be perfect! When I found Kammie on Instag...
ram I fell in love with her work! She communicated with me so well and made sure we were always on the same page. I catch myself looking through the pictures at least twice a day. My husband and I are so grateful we get to cherish our photos for the rest of our lives. She captured our special day so perfectly and I couldn't have picked anyone better.
Kammie showed up promptly for our wedding ready to go and I wasn't even ready for her. My neurotic self created a wedding day itinerary down to 5 minute intervals that I gave to Ka...
mmie and she was quick to improvise and go photograph the boys first! She also made it easy to pose my new husband and I for our couples photos. Kammie uses this eerie filter over her pictures that I just die over every time. I can't wait to see our final pictures!
