. I already knew what kinds of songs I wanted played walking down the aisle and what kind of vibes I wanted. I wanted to have less-known jazz standards played, and I was worried that the musician I hire won't know the songs or wouldn't perform it with the appropriate style. (We also had a Bruno Mars song which he played flawlessly; he's very well versed in his repertoire). I was introduced to Kamuela through my planner and two things struck me. One, his voice was so beautiful, soft and calm, not over-the-top like Elvis perhaps, which was the opposite of what I wanted, but rather soft and refreshing, maybe like Ed Sheeran and Coldplay combined. Two, Kamuela can really really rip the guitar if he wanted to. His technical skills on the strings is simply astonishing (check out his YT videos, but he never tries to be technical just to show off). I had a short call with Kamuela and I was reassured that he's a proper musician that can make our wedding awesome. But more so, the one thing I learned was that Kamuela loves what he does and bringing joy and happiness through music. I could just see it in the way he talks about music and shared stories of how he performed for other couples. On the wedding day, we delayed our ceremony for an hour due to a LOT of rain, and the first thing Kamuela did for us is to reassure us that rain is a blessing and that he'll stay for however long we needed him. When the rain finally stopped, he played the most beautiful version of our songs. I couldn't have hired anyone better. Above everything, Kamuela genuinely congratulated us for the special day and I really felt like he was a friend rather than just a vendor. Thank you so much for performing for us Kamuela and we'll be remembering you for a really long time. Hope to see you again soon performing back in Hawaii!

His amazing personality is so special to work with and he goes above and beyond in delivery for all of his couples. And for us, he made it so easy to plan a destination wedding from afar. Just one example of how kind he is, is when he told me how much he understands that this is a once in a lifetime event and proceeded to treat us and our big day as if we were the only wedding happening - and we got married in 2022 during the midst of so many rescheduled weddings. How many people can you find in the wedding vendor industry who treat you with so much attention like you’re the only couple on their books when in fact they have bounds and bounds of other weddings booked? Another example of how dedicated he is, is when it rained on our outdoor wedding (every couple’s worst nightmare) and we would have understood if he needed to perform from afar or under shelter but Kamuela being the amazingly dedicated person he is, performed in the pouring rain completely unbothered and truly saved our experience. When I reflect on my wedding ceremony, I’m reminded of his music and how special it was. It was such a special setting and his music elevated the experience and memories like I know no other musician could have. His performance of my aisle entry song inspired a friend of ours to use the same song a few months later for their wedding and his pre-ceremony and cocktail hour music still has our guests raving 5 months later. With Kamuela, you are never alone in your decision making, you always have a kind soul to bounce your ideas off of or turn to for guidance. Kamuela knows everything under the sun but even offers to learn songs for you so that your options are truly endless for your special day. We knew our special day would be filled with special people but we are so blessed and grateful for the special vendors like Kamuela who made our day the best day of our lives. PS. la. Planning a wedding in Honolulu while living on the mainland was difficult, but Kamuela was so easy to work with. He was always very responsive, even with the time difference, and gave us great music suggestions for our wedding processional and recessional. He also let us use one of his wireless mics and sound system for our ceremony Kamuela learned three specific songs for our ceremony and even though we had never rehearsed anything with him, his timing was spot on during the actual event. He also sounds even better in person and we go so many compliments about him from our guests Finally, as the rain started rolling in towards the end of our ceremony, Kamuela continued playing up until the last minute, even getting wet in the process, which we greatly appreciated. You really are in good hands with Kamuela.

re at Rum Fire and different venues and I had always thought I'd love him to play at my wedding if I got Married in Hawaii. Flash forward 8 years and I came back and did on LaniKai Beach with a reception following at the Mid Pacific Country Club :). Kamuela's style and voice crosses so many different music genres. He can nail modern songs like Cold Play and Kings of Leon, but still has that wedding song style but also does local and traditional Hawaiian songs. Just such a great mix of music! Besides his amazing voice, he truly embodies aloha spirit that I wanted my guests to experience. I also love that he always wears his signature hat and kukui nut lei, so modern and Hawaiian at the same time. The atmosphere he created was exactly what I wanted for my reception. He was very professional and made sure to go over the list of songs he could play at the wedding and made sure to highlight our favorites. I requested a few and he did a wonderful job. Our song was Baby I Love Your Way by Peter Frampton and was awesome. Another awesome note about him, he is very good with kids and even did my 3 year old nieces request of Baby Shark. Later he even shared the Mic with her so she could dazzle us with her impromptu Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I had so many great compliments about his music and what a wonderful touch it was for our reception. All my guests loved him. I would highly recommend Kamuela because he will go above and beyond your expectations. Thank you Kamuela for making our reception such a wonderful party with your amazing music.
