My husband and I were part of a wedding recently that K and Co. Catering we’re working (advertised as: 143 Catering and Copperhill Grille). The day of the wedding, the ceremony sta...
rted late (about 40 minutes) due to the caterers not being there earlier to set up and prep all the food. The bride and groom kept being told they were waiting for a family member to arrive for the ceremony but that was not the case since the day of coordinator (whom also was hired and works for this buisness) was to start if not everyone was there and that those guests would need to wait at cocktail hour. When it was time for cocktail hour, all the food was serviced late. People were also told there was only 1 gluten free tray of apps. This limited some of our friends drastically. We later found out from the bride and groom that all the apps at cocktail hour were suppose to be gluten free so no one would have any restrictions. When it was time for dinner, the servers (whom also worked for the caterers) didn’t have a list of all of our names or what we had picked for dinner (it was a plated meal). Instead, we all had to pull up the wedding website and check our RSVP to see what we had ordered. Additionally the servers never checked to see if we had an dietary restrictions or allergies. For the people that were not seated right away due to helping the bride, the servers never came back to check to see what they were having for dinner. When the food did finally come out, all of our plated meals were different even though it was the same meal. Some of us had missing items, or completely different sides. My salad had zero dressing and another person at the table was served 1/2 a raw onion on their salad. As food service continued, many tables around us were waiting almost an hour to get dinner which pushed back the timeline for dancing and cake cutting. Additionally, the day of coordinator was missing half the day. There were several times during the day we had questions for her about things and about the timeline so we wouldn’t bother the bride or groom and we couldn’t find her. She was often texting the bride or groom while they were getting ready about things that was information provided to her weeks in advance. The day of coordinator also stated she would have everything printed out for the day of the wedding but clearly didn’t. I honestly feel terrible for the bride and groom because their day was ruined by their unprofessionalism and they left for their honeymoon being told by almost everyone at the wedding about the terrible things that happened as it related to the coordinator and catering.
We were very disappointed in the lack of professionalism, communication, and coordination by K&Co planning/catering (also advertised under the following names: 143 Catering and Cop...
perhill Grille) and planning for our wedding. The food served at our wedding was nothing like our tasting in terms of plating, pairing of sides, and quantity of food. We chose K&Co for their affordability and convenience of having gluten-free options for guests, but found that they only allotted one plate of cocktail appetizers for gluten-free guests and restricted guests from the number of food items they could have. The owner/Kristen never asked for a guest count and food list, which I had to initiate passing information, to then find they did not plan for enough meals for guests. Many of our guests received food they did not ask for, mixtures of sides different from the planned menu, cold food, food not double checked with allergens, food not double checked with guest tables to allot for late cancellations, food served over 1.5 hour span, delaying the open dance floor, and 1 guest received undercooked chicken. The Groom had to step away from the wedding to discuss with the owner/Kristen, and the chef to make them aware of all the above complications. Kristen was hired as a day-of coordinator as well, but was ill-prepared. The Bride was very organized and prepped all schedules and paperwork for Kristen and emailed pre-wedding for convenience. It was apparent these documents were not read or printed beforehand, as she required the Bride's printed set on the rehearsal day and the day of the wedding with guidance. Due to poor food preparation, guests were poorly fed, and lead to a few guests choosing to leave the reception to obtain food elsewhere. It also became knowledge that owner Kristen was interested in the couple's table decor to discuss purchase after the event, only for the couple to find tables cleared while the reception was still going on (mind you owner was aware the reception hall was booked until the next day and teardown was not necessary) and table centerpieces were stolen with the owner venmoing the couple after the event without proper confirmation of planned purchase. We highly don't recommend this company to any couple as it left a negative mark on our wedding day and added unnecessary stress during the planning process, and we would never wish that on any other couple's wedding. The entire process was full of poor communication, constant re-educating the owner of planned services despite having an invoice, providing incorrect invoices for higher totals than agreed on at contractual signing, badgering for payments despite establishing a payment plan, and never sending a copy of the contract when asked numerous times. After discussing the inadequate services, the owner refused to provide any compensation or refund to the couple.
Very nice people but food at wedding was nothing like what was represented at the tasting! Quality extremely less. Many mistakes in the details. Organization of stations was terri...
ble. They were so close together and Dishes at only one station, looked like a very disorganized buffet. No glasses of water on the tables with the settings. You pay extra for dishes and glasses! Salad was supposed to be on the table when guests were seated, they were not. Aps were cold and chewy compared to the deliciousness of the ones at her tasting prior to the wedding. Even asked at the tasting if they would be able to still be crisp at the venue and she assured me they would. Also apps were missing their dipping sauce which left them tasting dry. Size and quality of the skewers that were at one of the stations were very small and skimpy compared to what she gave us at the tasting. Not even appetizer size and it was one of the entrees. Left feeling very deceived considering it is pretty pricy! Which I wouldn’t have minded if we got what we were shown.
