We had a wonderful experience at the Marriott KCI! We worked with Joy Winningham on setting up our wedding room block and she was AMAZING! Always willing to answer any questions I ...
had and made sure to confirm that all of the reservations were correct. If you are needing accommodations up north, I highly recommend this hotel and its staff!
As the mother-of-the-bride, who planned quite a bit of the wedding because our daughter lives out of town, I was extremely pleased! We had more than one guest remark that it was on...
e of the lovelier weddings that they had attended, and the space helped make that possible. The entire staff was professional and accommodating, and we loved the ease of the venue. Our package included two hospitality suites for the entire weekend, several extra rooms, bridal suite for the wedding couple, cake cutting and serving, a plated dinner and more. We felt the price-value was excellent. Guests also commented on the terrific food. (At our tasting, we discussed entree options with their chef who was very willing to please.) The patio was lovely in May, and guests walked a few steps to the reception held in the pavilion. The pavilion is predominantly white, and the lake sparkled in the sun just beyond the deck--the reception had a light and airy California feel. Our outdoor photos turned out great too. The staff went above and beyond by coordinating the wedding down to the details, such as having the deck re-stained and making sure the patio planters were in bloom. The Marriott was convenient for our many out-of-town guests, providing shuttle service from the airport. I would highly recommend a wedding or event here. Many thanks to Joy and all the staff!
Sold us on the venue immediately. But once the contract was signed we had a hard time getting a hold of people. We were handed off from one person to the next. We just weren't sure...
what was going on. But everything turned out perfect!
The hotel was extremely clean, the hotel personnel was very beyond nice and the wedding planner provided was more than helpful. We had our ceremony on their lakeview and our recept...
ion in their ballroom. They have a trail inwhich trees line the waterline making a great spot for pictures.
The hotel not only had great food to choose from, they will work with you to custom your menu and the wedding planner IS AMAZING. Available at all times and before saying "no" will check all outlets.
We used this venue for our wedding. From the beginning to the end we saw nothing but professionalism. Unlike most ofthe couples, we had very little time to plan our event, just lit...
tle over six weeks. I’ve contacted several venues around KC area and every single one of them wanted to charge us a ridiculous amount of money just for the venue itself! Most of the time there would be nothing included: no tables, food, bar, decorations….etc. Everything was available, but it would cost extra So, after paying a couple of thousand dollars to reserve a venue, I would still have to meet caterers (in some cases pay extra fees if they are not on the preferred vendor list), cake vendors, figure out what I need to rent, pay liquor fees (and deposits), taxes, gratitude fees….The wedding was getting to be more expensive by a minute.
I’ve contacted Lisa Mcmachen at Marriot about three weeks into my search. She was able to see us two days later, to show us our options. She was able to offer us 4-5 different banquet rooms for our reception. We really liked their Pavilion outside. It sits right on the shore of a manmade lake and can easily fit 100-150 people. Since we have decided to go with one of the Marriot’s comprehensive wedding packages, there were no charges for any venue. As the matter of fact everything was inclusive: the food, open bar, venue…It was as simple as could be. The prices were 20-30% less than everyone else has quoted us. Marriot was able to offer us much more than ANYONE in the KC area!
Our event coordinator Sarah Ventola was a true professional. She covered every single detail of our even, even the ones we have not thought of. She made sure that we are on track leading up to our event, coordinated flower/cake deliveries. In short, she made sure that we had as less stress as possible.
Our event was a true success! We were simply blown away by the level of effort that everyone at Marriot has invested into our wedding! The food was great, the set up was excellent! We could not have envisioned a more perfect wedding! Our guests were very impresses and I would highly recommend this venue to everyone!
Thanks! Volodymyr Polishchuk
We had our wedding outside which was beautiful and the reception in the pavillion. Both parts were great and the service the day of the wedding was great. There was some confusion ...
a little before the ceremony but all in all it was figured out. The coordinator on the other hand was what brought the service down. I could not get in touch with the coordinator until about two and a half weeks before the wedding even though I kept calling for him and we had booked the location in March. I ended up having to call corporate to finally get in touch with him and I had a lot of questions. When we finally did meet he was nice but still was lagging on many details and questions that I had. He was not even there for the ceremony and did not give the stand in all the information so the day of the alternate guy named John had to get in touch with us by calling my parents room and having them call us. That was sad. I must say though that John did a great job! He was new to do most of this stuff but he was on top of everything. There was nothing that needed to be done that he didn't take care of. He moved everything right along and was so helpful. I really appreciated him. The service the day of was Amazing! Also the complimentary rooms that were given to us and to our parents were great. Our room was the presidential suite and it was great! The food was delicious and the price to reserve them for the wedding was good. The food was a bit expensive but overall it was a total sucess.
Very accommodating and perfect for an outdoor wedding and tent like reception. We got everything we wanted, the food was great and the staff was easy to work with.
Marriott provided an event planner which was what sold us. We gave her our information (times, vendor info, etc) and they lined everything up for us. The pavillion was beautiful ...
by the lake at night with our candles and our event planner kept the evening going without a hitch. We did plated dinners. The food was awesome and the servers were very professional. I wouldn't have changed one thing about our experience. They definitely made sure they were there to help us.
