Finding a hair and make up artist for my wedding day was possibly more difficult than finding my wedding dress. I knew what I didn’t want, but I wasn’t able to pinpoint what I did want until I found Kara’s portfolio. Her approach to natural glam is so stunning, and really made me feel “like myself, but better.” When I had notes after my trial, she took them happily and remembered them for my wedding day, and though I thought I’d wanted my hair down, when I decided the day before that I’d rather have an updo she was totally game and helped me figure out exactly which direction to go. My make up and hair both lasted without touch up (save for some lipstick re-applications) from 10 AM to 1 AM on a sunny, warm July day through hours of posing, laughing, crying, and dancing. Kara brought in Maddie (MAD Hair and MUA) to assist in getting us all ready, and their work fit so seamlessly together. What’s more, all six of my bridesmaids and both my mother and my husband’s mother loved the way they looked. There are not enough positive words to describe the way I felt on my wedding day, and Kara played such a major role. Bonus: one of my bridesmaids and I also got blowouts with Kara the day before for my rehearsal – highly recommend visiting her at Bloom if you can!

I cannot thank my Kara enough for the incredible work she did on my wedding day! She created the perfect boho braid for my hair, exactly as I had envisioned. It was not only beautiful but also held up perfectly throughout the day. She also styled my maid of honor's hair and did makeup for two of my bridesmaids, and everyone looked absolutely stunning! Her talent and professionalism made the experience enjoyable and stress-free. If you're looking for someone who can bring your hair and makeup vision to life, I highly recommend her. She made our special day even more magical!

Kara is such a talented hair stylist! She was so responsive, kind, easy to work with and was timely on my wedding day. During the trial, we did a few hairstyles to figure out which I like best, and when I changed my mind a few weeks before the wedding, it was no problem. On the wedding day, she made sure we were on track for our timeline and even finished ahead of schedule. My hair on my wedding day was exactly what I wanted. I would highly recommend Kara for your wedding day hair stylist!

Kara is the best!! She was such a calming presence on wedding day and made getting ready such a breeze. I couldn't have been happier with how my hair and makeup turned out and really felt like she listened to the things I wanted to slightly change from our trial together. I don't typically wear very much makeup and I loved that I still looked exactly like myself. My bridesmaids also LOVED how their hair and makeup turned out as well.

Kara works absolute magic. RUN to book her for your bridal hair and make up. I got married in July 2023 on the coast of Maine. The ceremony and reception were outside. I have some of the thickest and longest locks of hair. I asked Kara for the impossible, to put my mane into a bun that could turn into a late night party pony. And let me tell you SHE NAILED IT!!! My bun lasted all day and my party pony was perfection. Everyone commented on how awesome my hair looked. As if I wasn't obsessed with my hair enough, Kara also delivered the most perfect natural/dewy/highlight bronzed make up look. Do not hesitate to book Kara and her team for your wedding day. My bridesmaids, maid of honor and mother/mother in law were all just as happy as I was. THANK YOU, KARA!!!!

Kara is the BEST hair and makeup vendor in the Portland area. Of all the vendors I booked for my wedding, I was the most picky about hair and makeup - wedding hair and makeup is often too much for my taste, and it was important to me to look and feel like myself on my wedding day and in photos. I said no to about 15 different vendors that my planner proposed before I found Kara. I’m SO glad that I waited until I found Kara! I was looking for a more natural hair and makeup look, and Kara delivered. Multiple people told me after my wedding that I had the best “wedding hair and makeup” they’d seen - so many wedding beauty vendors have over-done looks (too heavy makeup, too “poofy” hair styles). Another friend in Atlanta considered asking Kara to travel to do her hair and makeup for her wedding in Georgia. Kara helped me feel beautiful on my wedding day, and I’m so grateful. She’s also wonderful to spend time with. In all, I couldn’t have asked for a better hair and makeup vendor for my wedding day.

Kara was amazing!! She perfectly matched my color and ordered extensions for the big day. She was so friendly and positive during the whole process. The trial run was great, I came in with some example photos and she worked her magic on my hair and makeup. Day of the wedding she was great with both my mother and mother in law, very patient with them not being sure what they wanted. Hair and makeup for the wedding day was everything I wanted and lasted the whole night!

I had the best experience with Kara! Not only did she listen to what I wanted and perfectly execute my vision, but she was just the perfect person to have around on wedding day. Kara was both our hair and makeup stylist for my wedding (me plus four others) and from hiring her to day of, was so kind, chill, communicative and dependable. I remember being a bit nervous for my makeup trial because I don't wear much makeup and have had some pretty heavy applications done when I was a bridesmaid for friends. During the trial, Kara started off with a perfectly normal foundation application but I asked to pull back, no problem — she did another, I asked to pull back a bit more and we found our match! She was so easy to talk with, ask questions to and share what works for me or not. Kara is also so calm, fun and chill - the perfect energy to have around you when wedding day chaos and excitement is everywhere! She took pictures and notes during the trial to remember what we did.to be ready for wedding day. Kara's a delight — book her!

I loved working with Kara. We had a great time at my trial a few weeks before the wedding. She listened to everything I was trying to go for and offered options and recommendations based on my hair texture and length, as well as my skin type and how certain finishes would hold up in the late August Maine weather. She is immensely talented but also has a calm, easy demeanor that was perfect for the day of. She made the morning a breeze and I couldn’t have been happier with how it all came out.
