About this vendor
Hi! I'm Kara Gwyn, a wedding and special event photographer based in Pittsburgh, serving the Greater Pittsburgh area and beyond. Never missing a beat, I focus on the natural beauty of candid moments and capture them with a unique style of photography, combining lifestyle, photojournalism, and fashion.
Your photographer sets the tone for any kind of session. For weddings, your photographer is with you more throughout the day than just about anyone else, so it’s important to choose someone you are comfortable and at ease with. It’s been a delight working with countless amazing couples and it brings me great joy to encourage every one that I work with to feel comfortable and radiant in front of my camera. I dance the line between being a fly on the wall and carefully capturing every moment- never at a distance, never missing a beat. With great care and attention to detail, the images you’ll receive are just that of your memories from the day; intimate, near, and dear to your heart.

ing. We also love all of our candid pictures from the reception. They're beautiful and joyous and made us uncontrollably smile. We weren’t able to meet Kara before our wedding (due to COVID timing) but she was so easy to work with start to finish. She was quick and efficient during posed photos and slid into the background during the reception to capture the party. She returned the photos on time and the website is so easy to work with. Highly recommend Kara and we’ll definitely use her in the future for anniversary or family photos!

ive to the ideas I had about what I wanted, and took off from there to take incredible photos. She took the most beautiful pictures of our first look, ceremony, flowers, reception- in short, everything! She has a great eye for detail and captured some of the best moments of the day, like when I forgot my bouquet during the ceremony and afterwards my mom dashed up to hand it to me so I would have it for at least part of the wedding! I'm going to treasure those photos. As an added bonus, she was so friendly and fit in so well that it really felt like she belonged as a part of our wedding.

ith us, while keeping in mind how important these photos would be to our family since they were not there. From the beginning, she took the time to get to know us and our story. The day we got married was the first time we met Kara, I was a little nervous hiring a photographer I never met halfway across the US. From the beginning to end communication with Kara was seamless. I highly recommend Kara to capture your special day. We didn't hire a photographer we hired a friend we hadn't met yet. Thank you Kara for following your passion, we will cherish our photos and memories with you forever!

balls thrown at us from our venue. Kara was so passionate about her work and this was directly reflected in the quality and result of the photos. I couldn't ask for a better person to work with, my fiance and I felt relaxed and focused on the engagement shoot, Kara had everything else covered. I will try and hire Kara again as our wedding photographer. I can't stress it enough, Kara was such a pleasure to work with, and most importantly a very real and genuine person.
