Your photographer is one of the most important investments as you will cherish those photos for lifetimes to come. I researched SO many photographers and exhausted so many other great options, but ultimately came down to Kara and Daninel. We have so many friends that are all shades of the rainbow and we wanted to make sure everyone was cast in the best light. It’s challenging to make sure everyone is edited and captured in the best way when you’re working with such a diverse group like ours. One of the many reasons I chose Kara and Daniel was because of their diverse portfolio. I really wanted to make sure all our diverse friends and family were represented beautifully just as they are. I also chose them because of their true, timeless quality. Nowadays, you definitely see the trends of the light, airy, bright style with wedding photos, which are stunning. You also see a lot of wedding photos that almost seem to have a filtered look to them, which are also very lovely. But we wanted a very timeless, elegant, classic look that would be true to color and that is just what Kara and Daniel deliver. Our photos turned out absolutely breathtaking and we are thrilled! Couldn’t have asked for anything more. Being very detail-oriented myself, I wanted a photographer that was also very attentive to the detail. One theme you will find as you read through other reviews is their impeccable organization. Kara was so organized and paid such close attention to the details, timeline and planning of both our engagement session and wedding day. We had specific photos, poses, visions, and vibes for some of our looks and photos and she really checked all the boxes and delivered. For that we are forever grateful! Photos are not something you can go back and redo. The moment is there and gone, so we really to make sure we got it right and they truly nailed it! When I tell you I spent weeks researching photographers and interviewing numerous people, I’m not lying. I chose them for several reasons. You will not regret your investment with Kara and Daniel! She gave us a timeline that allowed for plenty of photos and even some buffer in case we were running late. We received our full gallery (over 800 photos!) 2 weeks after our wedding! Our photos are absolutely stunning and I cannot thank Kara enough for giving us the gift of being able to relive our wedding day for years to come!

I was skeptical at first to do an engagement session but we approached it as practice for our wedding day photos and I'm so glad we did! She truly made us feel so comfortable (when we are so NOT comfortable having pics taken of us!). When the wedding day arrived, she was instrumental in making sure the wedding party got from point A to B to take photos. Once the ceremony started, Kara & Daniel disappeared in the best way possible - they did not block any guests views, they weren't in any guests faces to take photos... they blended in with the crowd but were right there if you needed them. Kara turns around the photos in about 2 weeks, too, and the photos are truly stunning. We cannot thank them enough and hope to work with them again in the future!

knew I was in good hands but wow, if they aren't just the nicest, easy-going most awesome people to work with on top of that. My husband hates with a fiery passion having his picture taken but you would never know from our engagement photos and our sneak peak wedding pics. They made him feel totally at ease. They were the most supportive of my dream to get our fur babies in some photographs and helped make it happen. They worked with our awesome wedding planner to make a super detailed plan that was easy to follow and even wrangled my ginormous family and grabbed all of our portrait shots in record time. At one point during our couples shots, I looked over and Kara is full on lying on the ground to get this incredible shot in the St. Louis library. I got married last weekend and I already have a sneak preview and I know that the rest of the photos will be absolutely amazing. I can't recommend them enough!!

She and Daniel are a really fun, engaging, and easy-going team, which is equally important as you spend a lot of time with your wedding photographers. Kara meets with her couples to learn about them and what's important to them first, then closer to the date will draft a timeline for the day that was extremely helpful to me to take any stress out of the planning process (relying on her knowledge rather than having to make it myself!). Also very helpful was her ability to choose the photo locations in the moment based on lighting and weather -- also having a photographer who was willing to direct my family and the wedding party took pressure off us and made for amazing photos. She and Daniel were very flexible in fitting in specific requests that we had (such as a large group photo at the reception that was a difficult feat). We are so happy with how our photos turned out-- her photography has a timeless style.

When we picked back up a year later, it was like we hadn't missed a beat. She is SO helpful in creating a day-of timeline and communicating with vendors. She also diligently kept an eye on the weather & covid protocols and developed plans B, C, D, etc. for anything that popped up. Kara was always there to reassure us that everything would be amazing! And, it most certainly was. On the wedding day, everything was flawless. My new husband and I literally floated through the day. We sat back and watched the events unfold knowing that Kara was there to capture all the special moments. The bulk of photos we took before the wedding/reception and we finished earlier than expected because Kara & Daniel had everything ready to go (as well as umbrellas & several weather apps to be sure we wouldn't get stuck in a summer storm). During the wedding is where Kara really exceeded any expectation I had for a photographer - she just stepped in and helped me in every way. She held my train, changed my shoes, worked with our planner & DJ, played interference when I was swarmed by guests, and calmed my nerves when I got anxious. She is so enthusiastic and kind, but on wedding day she got down to business! That's exactly what you want when you're corralling family & rowdy guests. Oh, and the photos? They are jaw-droppingly gorgeous! We look like celebrities and the quality of her photographs are extraordinary. She created a perfect wedding timeline that my day of coordinators utilized as well as all of my other vendors. She knew all the spots and poses to get my dream wedding photos, and even helped my videographer to capture amazing footage as well. She is an incredibly talented photographer and I would absolutely recommend her for anyone's wedding.

Her husband, Daniel, is a second photographer for the day and took photos of the groomsmen while Kara was with the bridesmaids before the first look. Kara and Daniel were both so great to work with. Choosing a photographer is such an important part of your wedding day and I promise that you will regret working with Kara!

Before Kara was awarded this engagement, SHE DID HER HOMEWORK !! ..went to the fort to survey best times, angles, even best location for the ceremony. Made her rec's to the bride to be, ..and was selected. Three other photog's barely included accommodating mutual meeting times: "I can meet with you Tuesday at 2:30, a week from Wed. at 9:45, or that following day at 8:30." - - - During the event: dealt very well with the typical difficult wedding crowd; not obtrusive, AT ALL !! Did not direct the flow; ..rather WORKED with the flow, and VERY WELL !! - - - - My Rec: WORTH EVERY PENNY !! I don't care how other photog's $$ compare !! What you might save with another WON'T EVEN COMPARE THE JOY KARA VOLLE WILL BRING TO YOU FOR YEARS TO COME !!!

I call it a COVID wedding, but our day was so perfect that it felt as if it should have been the original plan, and we owe so much of that to Kara’s help. They had made many suggestions to help make our smaller wedding day better than we could have ever dreamed. The turnaround on getting pictures back was a few days for sneak peeks and a week for all of the pictures. In the photography and wedding business, this turnaround was amazing. As our wedding day approached, Kara and Daniel met with us again to put together a wedding timeline. This was super helpful and important as schedules on wedding days can get hectic. Kara made it easy and was willing to accommodate based on what was happening. For the wedding, Kara and Daniel showed up on time and immediately got to work with taking pictures. They both got the best pictures of our day and we had no regrets with not having a videographer because of how well they captured our day. Kara is really good at wrangling in a hectic wedding party and getting the family pictures done efficiently. She was able to get us our sneak peaks the Tuesday after the wedding and our full wedding pictures a week and a half after. Once again, we were blown away by the pictures that they captured. Fully recommend Kara and Daniel!!! We will be using them in the future for our photography needs and cannot wait to have another reason to work with them!

She helped me develop my wedding day timeline during the planning process - and keep to it with plenty of time to spare on the day of! My husband, family, friends, and I were blown away by the photos she and Daniel took on our wedding day! It was a hot and humid August day to the point where I literally had sweat dripping down my face during pre-ceremony afternoon pics in Forest Park – but you can’t even tell in our photos. The lighting in the photos looks so natural and flattering and I love that she captures real photos (i.e. doesn’t artificially put Instagram-like filters which a lot of other brides like but is not my personal style). She also has a super fast turn-around time for the pics which was an unexpected and very appreciated surprise! TLDR: I am so glad we hired Kara to capture our special day!
