. I felt absolutely beautiful and she thought of every single detail – all the way to how she made my bustle for my reception. The best compliment I can give though is that Karen is an incredibly thoughtful and kind person. I will never forget having to move one of my fittings because my grandfather was having surgery and I needed to be with him. Karen not only was incredibly accommodating, but asked about my grandfather at every fitting after that. It made me feel so cared for. I am fortunate I got to be with my grandfather on my wedding day and will cherish that experience forever. If you need your dress altered – there is truly nobody better!! Thank you Karen + team :)

he dress when she finished, it was completely transformed! She kept all the special and sentimental details (lace and beading details on the sleeve, satin roses on the skirt, etc.) but updated the look by shortening the dress to make it a high-low style and taking out the puffy satin in the sleeves. When part of the project was going to be over my budget, Karen worked with me and did some of the alterations as a gift, free of charge! I am SO thankful I found her and am so excited about the way my mom's dress turned out that I might even be wearing it to the ceremony instead of the rehearsal dinner!

3 sized to big down, but she made the most beautiful custom belt out of my mother's lace that made the whole gown so special to me. I had so much fun at every appointment, and Karen's team was so sweet and flexible when I had to change appointments. Karen also does amazing couture work in addition to alterations- definitely hire her if you have any custom dream you want to make come to life- she's amazing!

I will never forget how special Karen and Lisa made me feel the first time I put on my dress there. I remember closing my eyes and feeling like an actual bride for the first time. They really listened to what I wanted while offering gentle suggestions. My dress had stitchings of delicate flowers and beading and I wanted to add the same look to my waist. They spent hours looking and found flowers and beads that matched my dress EXACTLY, which they intricately added to my waist line. They hemmed the dress perfectly with my shoes and the French bustle was stunning. We also had an heirloom veil that they refurbished which will make it last so much longer!!! Trusting them was SO EASY because of their experience and kindness, and my dress turned out better than I could’ve imagined. Thank y’all so much!!! 100/10

I needed the upper part of my dress lined as well as it hemmed and cut to fit my short torso. After a long history with ill-fitting formal dresses, I was nervous but quickly discovered I could trust Karen to make it right. Karen and her team not only cut the most beautiful sweetheart lining for my dress, but were able to adjust the lace overlay to fit correctly on my short torso and back. She didn't give up or settle for second best - she worked to make it right time and time again. I am so thankful to them for making this dress my dream. Cannot recommend them enough!

My dress is more beautiful than I could ever imagine now that it is fitted! I had to have the hips brought in a little bit, the straps shortened, and my dress shortened quite a bit because I'm very small. My dress now fits me like a glove! Karen is so personable and so sweet. I wish I could write for days about her because they deserve it. If you bring your dress to her, you can be confident that it will turn out PERFECT!

was very reasonable. I needed the top neckline trimmed down, the inner corset taken in, and a bustle added (American). They also added a new comb to my mother’s old veil. They did a really nice job with all of it. The neckline part was a little tricky, and they discussed different options with me made good suggestions up front. We had several fittings to make sure everything went right. Then they steamed my dress and stored it (laid out so it wouldn’t wrinkle!) before my wedding day. Overall they were very caring and competent and I enjoyed working with them!

er's structure. I didn't want it to lay this way, because when it was on, it made it appear that the dress was too tight, which wasn't the case at all. Karen made adjustments to the dress & added extra hooks to make this fabric lay flat so that I was not uncomfortable in my dress the day of. Her team works to go above & beyond for her clients.

, but she repeatedly(!!!) forgot what we had discussed. In my first appointment, she offered to create a pocket in my dress, and we agreed that she would fix the sleeves, and remove a layer of the crinoline. When I came to my next fitting, she offered again to create a pocket, had not fixed the sleeves, and had not removed the layer of crinoline. Not only had she not done these things, but she seemed to have forgotten that she said she would. At this fitting, she re-wrote down that she was going to do these things, and pinned the hem but said she wouldn't hem it until the layer of crinoline was removed in case it messed with the skirt. She also found a way to charge me another $75 even though at my first fitting she said I was paid in full. I show up for my next fitting and she says "okay are we ready for pickup?" -- but I was not supposed to pick it up because it was not supposed to be hemmed yet! So I said this, and went to try on my dress, and SHE STILL HAD NOT REMOVED THE CRINOLINE. This time she did it right there in front of me, but I still had to wait several more weeks to see it hemmed, and twice more she forgot to remove the manufacturer's bra cups, until, on the day of pickup, I reminded her. All in all, she forgot MULTIPLE times what she said she was going to do, despite writing it down in her voice-dictated phone message system (which does not seem to be working). I hate my dress, and I'm getting married next week and still never got pockets. So. Disappointed.

She spent so much time with me and it never felt rushed, she paid attention to detail and pointed out things even I didn't notice. ttle discouraged due to me not finding the “perfect dress”. Yes, I did come across some dress that were absolutely amazing, but these dress were also out of my price range or the alterations I would’ve needed to make would’ve been way too expensive. It had come down to me having to buckle down and get a dress so I would have one in time for my wedding, and so I tried Google. I went to a couple of dress makers, but their work wasn’t up to par or when I describe to them the kind of dress I wanted they would tell me they couldn’t do that due to my bust or it wouldn’t flatter my figure. To be honest, if I am the one getting married and paying for the dress, I should be able to have any dress I want regardless of what my body shape looked like. I tried one more dress place which was called Karen Hendrix Couture. I really had lost all hope in finding a dress at this point, but I decided to contact them anyway. When I first got there Karen was so welcoming and warm. She really made me feel at home. I voiced my concerns to her about me not being able to find a dress that had all the things I wanted and she listened and began to sketch as I talked. Next thing I knew, Karen had drew my dream dress. There was no holding back on my vision of the perfect wedding dress nor did she make me feel like there was nothing I wanted that she couldn’t make work for my figure. Karen gave me back the faith I needed in making sure I would look perfect on my wedding day. At the end of my first dress fitting appointment, it was late in the day, Karen was about to leave out with me and she stopped and said we must pray before we leave. With me being a preacher’s kid, this meant everything to me that she spread not only the love for her brides, but a love for our creator. Every appointment with Karen was fun, exciting to the mind, and filled with love, hard work and care for all I wanted in my dress. My dress turned out amazing. It was more than I expected it to be and I feel like I owe Karen more than what my dress was worth due to all the hard work she put into my dress and the indescribable feeling I felt when I put my dress on the day of my wedding. I enjoyed my experience so much with Karen that I still keep in contact with her months after my wedding. I really feel like my dress should be featured in Premier Bride or Wedding Style magazine. The details and hard work Karen puts into each bride’s dress is not just a show. Karen works on dresses well into the late hours to make sure that everything is perfect. She takes dresses home to work on them and spends endless hours in doing so. On my wedding day, Karen came to make sure that my dress fit perfectly and that it looked good in pictures. Karen definitely walking in her God giving talent of making couture dresses and I would recommend her to all women who embark on the blessed journey of getting married. They worked with her and hand cut lace to piece together and make perfect sleeves with hand sewn eyelash edges. They tried everything to fix the dress, but could not. Karen dealt with the store and got them to have the designer overnight the only other dress they had in that style. So, a week before the wedding Karen received the same dress in a a size three sizes too big. They worked hours and hours to make the deadline of the wedding and added fittings after their normal hours. They delivered a stunning dress in time for the wedding. We are grateful for all of them and would recommend them to anyone who needs an excellent wedding dress seamstress. They went above and beyond in every way.

as that I requested and mentioned a number of times that I would like the hem to be off the ground so that I wouldn't step on it while walking/dancing and that request was shot down and denied every time. On my wedding day I stepped on it so many times I'm surprised I didn't rip it. All those beautiful ballroom dance lessons just to dance in a basic box pattern so that I wouldn't fall on my face.

cause she wanted her dress to be perfect. Karen has had this dress for months, and when it was finally ready ONE WEEK before her big day, we got to the final appointment and it still wasn't done. Karen didn't even call to tell her it wasn't going to be done before she got to the appointment all excited to take it home with her. Also, once she tried it on, another bridesmaid and I found multiple things that needed to be adjusted. The beads on the back didn't cover the zipper and it was crooked, and the bottom of the beads needed to be adjusted as well, as it didn't line up. The lace wasn't sewn on the bottom, there were still pins EVERYWHERE, we couldn't even really practice doing the bustling because even that wasn't done!! So she swears to my best friend that it will be done Tuesday (which means Katie has to make a 3 hour round trip AGAIN during her wedding week into town to get this dress, and then guess what happens? Karen calls this morning to say it still won't be done. My best friend is sobbing, she's so stressed, and Karen blatantly tells her that she's overbooked herself and there's no way it'll be done today. On Friday, we asked if it could be picked up Sunday, and Karen said they're closed that day. In my opinion, I don't give a flip if you're closed, if you promise a bride something, you make it happen, especially this close to her wedding day. I'm so disappointed in this "business." Just a warning to future brides to stay away from this woman who doesn't come through on her promises, does shotty work, and WAY overcharges. SO disappointed!!

I was so impressed with how she altered my dress to fit me. She’s so nice and makes you feel like you’re her only dress she’s working on. I will be forever grateful for Karen squeezing me in last minute and helping make our big day so special and memorable. When I went to pick it up there was one more alteration that needed to be done and yet again she made special accommodations to make sure I had the dress right away. I was so lucky to come across Karen who listened to me,learned what I liked and wanted, and sat down with me for over an hour designing the dress with me. She met with me multiple times just to make sure the dress was perfect, and even when I was satisfied she still saw things to improve and she really put so much effort into ensuring a comfortable fit, an elegant cut and style, and at a price I could handle in my modest budget. I highly recommend talking to Karen if you feel like you just haven't found that right dress, because she is there to create the dress YOU want and make sure YOU are happy with it above all else. Amazing customer service and she treats you like a very special and important person. I am so grateful for her talent and attention. :)

Over the course of the next month and a half, I watched my dresses come to life with Karen's skilled hands and when the wedding weekend arrived, I had two perfect dresses- one for the rehearsal dinner and the other for the wedding- created for me to fit my figure to a T! I experienced perfection and had fun doing it!

She is very meticulous and does an excellent job listening to what you want, but also making sure the quality of the dress is preserved and you feel like your dress was made for you! I was cutting it close to the wedding,with only about 4 weeks to have alterations done and she did not hesitate to set up an appointment. When I arrived she was so very sweet. She worked with my hetic schedule as much as she could. During my 3 fittings she offered some very comforting words and reassured me that everything would fall into place with my wedding, finishing school, and taking my licensure exam on my wedding day( crazy I know). She does extremely great work, pretty much recreated my wedding dress to fit me perfectly! I could not have imagined it would look so great. She also took the time out to make my dress as functional as possible so that I could move around and dance. She mad sure my grandmother knew how to properly bustle my dress " with a bustle lesson". However, over the next 3 months, I was wildly successful in a weightloss program and dropped 45lbs+ and she followed me as I shrunk perfectly - including moving the zipper and beading the day before I was supposed to come get the dress because my measurements kept shrinking. In the end, not only did she FLAWLESSLY splice two different dresses, incorporated beadwork and embellishments from both into one dress, and bring to life a dream that had been brewing for over 7 years, but she followed my measurements through my weightloss to make sure it fit perfectly (from taking it out 9in to taking it back in a total of 8in)! She was so kind, so professional, and so genuinely caring and encouraging the entire time, though I know she had to have been frustrated by the changing measurements! I cannot begin to describe the utter relief of not having to worry for a single second about the outcome of my dress. I now have a beautiful heirloom dress to pass on to the next generation of women in my family and the gift of a dream come true that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
