Karen's Ballroom Dancing & Fitness

Karen went above and beyond our expectations on helping my fiancé and I with a beginning course of formal dancing. She was so kind, patient, and attentive! We have learned so much from her and had a great time every class. Can't wait to go back for more lessons closer to our wedding date for private lessons for our song.

Taking dance lessons with Karen was one of our favorite parts of wedding planning! She does a great job at teaching you dance steps that allow you to be confident during your first dance, without being overly choreographed or having to remember a routine. She is also a lovely person, and we really enjoyed spending time with her in the weeks leading up to the wedding. We could not have been happier with how our dance turned out, and we had a ton of fun in the moment!

we came to Karen clueless on how to dance, after 3 sessions with her, she taught us how to dance like a pro. She is amazing, very professional and responsive with all our inquiries. Definitely glad we went to her as she did not only taught us how to dance but she made me and my fiancé feel confident dancing our first wedding dance in front of everyone.

My husband and I decided, somewhat last minute, that we wanted to take dance lessons to have our first dance look a bit more put together. We were planing our wedding during COVID so, as would be expected, we ran into several speed bumps and hurdles along the way. The process was not always pleasant BUT what was always pleasant was our Thursday lessons with Karen! Karen is such a true professional. She is friendly and fun and after the very first lesson we both felt so comfortable with her. Our weekly (5 total) lessons became such a highlight of our planning process. Also, as I said we took lessons during COVID, we both felt incredibly safe at the studio and with Karen! It was such a breath of fresh air. Our dance was so much fun! It came out great and we can not wait to get the picture and video back! Thank you for everything Karen! We will be back for sure!

We worked with Roberta (Bobbie) and I cannot recommend her enough! She was so so so sweet and amazing! She choreographed our first dance and mother/son father/daughter dances and they were all perfect! She caters to your individual dance levels and was a pleasure to be around. Such an enjoyable experience! Highly recommend!

We booked four private dance lessons for our upcoming wedding. Karen was extremely helpful in planning out our first dance! She gradually added more and more into the lessons, starting from the basics and getting more advanced. Our guests haven’t stopped talking about the first dance! Our dance lessons with Karen were awesome! Not only were they the best money we spent in preparation of our wedding, but she truly has a gift for what she does, doing so with a kind heart and not to make anyone feel embarrassed about their two left feet. For two people who didn't know how to dance formally, after three sessions we were ready for our first dance. Our dance instructor, Pattie, was amazing! She understood that we were beginners and showed us steps that made us comfortable and excited to dance. She was very kind, knowledgable, and patient. Our first dance was very memorable and guests continue to talk about how special it was - especially our dip at the end! One of the instructors at the studio also cut our first dance song for us, so it was exactly how we wanted it! Our experience with Karen’s dance studio was amazing from start to finish. My dad contacted Karen to set up dance lessons for our father daughter dance and also my husband and I’s first dance..Karen was so sweet and nice!! She set us up with Patti who was just wonderful. Not only was she a great teacher but she was very patient and made us feel comfortable from the start. She is just a lovely person. My Husband and I took some group classes at Karen's in preparation for our wedding. Karen was kind, helpful, and patient. With some practice, the "first dance" steps were fairly simple and the cost for the classes was very reasonable.

Where do I even begin when our entire experience at this dance studio was absolutely wonderful. I began by contacting Karen about wedding dance lesson for my fiance and I as well as a separate dance for me and my father. Karen responded quickly and set us up with Pattie. Little did we know, Pattie would become a great friend, instructor and shoulder to lean on during the wedding process! My fiance and I are far from "good" dancers. We had no idea what we were doing when we started which is why we wanted to take dance lessons to begin with. We took 6 private dance classes with Pattie. She choreographed a beautiful dance for us that was truly original and fit our needs and song perfectly. My fiance Tom is very shy and hates to dance and even he ended up loving our dance classes, the outcome of our dance and even our instructor Pattie! Pattie made us both feel at ease and helped us feel confident that we could in fact dance even though we had no experience prior. She made our first dance one to remember for years to come! Our guests couldn't believe how great our dance was! Pattie also choreographed a special father/ daughter dance for me and my dad. This was not your traditional father/ daughter dance either. We started with what everyone thought was our first dance song but it quickly changed through three different fun songs (uptown funk, angel and fireball) and then it went back to the regular father/ daughter dance song. We spent many sessions with Pattie and she perfected our dance. I know that she spent countless hours and nights dancing to our song in her living room perfecting this dance for us! It was definitely a dance that people will remember. Our whole experience was so fun and well worth it! We ended up inviting Pattie to our wedding to see our first dance. She came without hesitation and cheered us on! She is truly a wonderful person to work with even if you have never had any experience dancing. I promise she will make you feel comfortable and like a true ballroom dancer!

Karen is a truly amazing instructor. My dad and I worked with her for about 6 months. My dad went from not knowing his left and right to doing Waltz like a pro - maybe not a pro but WOW we looked awesome. Karen is kind, caring, makes you feel extremely comfortable and really an awesome person to learn from. My dad and I are hoping to take some of her group dancing classes but with our significant others. Karen is amazing - go see her!

Pattie was just wonderful! She made us feel very comfortable from the start. Not only was she ever so patient with us and the fact that we had no dance background, but she also taught us so much to make us ready for our first dance on our wedding day! We also had a blast with her and it brought us a sense of relaxation during this crazy time of life. Would recommend her and everyone at karens ballroom, truly genuine people! :)

My fiancé who had never danced before really wanted to learn a choreographed ballroom dance for our wedding. I got two recommendations for Karen's Ballroom Dance, and we went by her studio after quickly dismissing a larger studio in the area. We ended up scheduling the first of what turned out to be quite a few lessons with her, and we are SO happy we made that choice! Karen was so patient, and created a dance for us based on our abilities. Very down to earth and personable, we felt so comfortable during our lessons with her. The lessons were affordable, and best of all, we could arrange them around our tricky work schedules. In fact, my fiancé so enjoyed this experience that we've decided we'd like to come back for some group lessons down the road. If you're thinking of taking dance lessons...this is the place to go!

We were recommended Karen as our dance teacher by some friends for our wedding dance. Though neither of us had any dance experience Karen designed a full foxtrot routine for us as well as teaching us a few other basic dance steps. She also designed another routine for the Bride and her father and offered to hold a short dance lesson at our rehearsal dinner! She was so helpful at every step of the way and managed to make a clumsy Englishman look graceful on the dance floor.
