With a passion for vibrant images and authentic storytelling, Kari devotes himself to capturing your wedding's uniqueness and uses his artistic talents to ensure that you can hold onto your memories for years to come. Kari puts in the effort to make your images look effortless! Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, and now in Connecticut — Kari Bjorn began his career as a chef. He worked in Michelin-starred restaurants in both the US and Europe before deciding to pursue photography. Attending Parsons School of Design in New York City, he studied the ins and outs of the industry and went on to work with a number of well-known clients like InStyle and Vanity Fair. Weddings are among his favorite events to document and he enjoys embracing genuine moments with the lens of his camera. During your sessions with him and throughout your wedding, Kari photographs in a quiet manner to snap moments in a natural way. He offers a variety of print options, including post cards, canvases, and save-the-dates. Film photography on 35 and 120mm film and GIFs are also available, letting you look back on your wedding in different ways.

We had a small wedding at the Philbrook and I am in loooove with the photos Kari took of us! I feel like he understood perfectly what our vibe was and how to get us to feel at ease. One great thing he did was he asked our parents to leave when we were done with the family photos and it was time for our wedding portraits. We were both a little nervous about that but it went way better than I expected and the pictures are gorgeous!

We hired Kari Bjorn to photograph our wedding after loving the photos he took during our engagement shoot. He is so easy to be around but he also takes his work so seriously, both Kari and his assistant made our day go much easier than I had expected. Personally, I was nervous for my husband since he doesn't like photos but Kari just made it feel so effortless. Photography was our biggest wedding expense and it was worth it! Thank you Kari!!!!

Kari went above and beyond during our wedding and engagement photos! My husband and I are easygoing but awkward in front of a camera. Kari made us both so relaxed! To the point that it didn't feel like he was taking pictures any more, it was all really natural and fit right in with both of our families, who don't really fit with each other, lol! Kari's photos were hands down the best money we spent on our wedding!

Kari is so wonderful to work with!! He is friendly, professional, and has a great sense of humor. He is so good at making you feel comfortable if you don’t know what to do in front of a camera. He is great at giving direction on posing, and can just as easily fade into the shadows so you don’t even know he’s there. Kari did our engagement shoot and our wedding. His photos turn out so beautifully and I couldn’t be happier!

Kari was the best photographer we could have possibly imagined. It can be hard not to hate yourself in photos at times, but his are so gorgeous it’s literally impossible. He captured every beautiful second of our big day. He was never once in the way, and captured moments I didn’t even know he was there for until I saw the photos. He was so funny and easy going that it was easy for everyone to relax in front of his camera. Even the most camera shy people at our wedding raved about how comfortable he made them feel. Throughout the planning process he was easy to reach if we needed him and it felt like he read my mind with how easily he adhered to the theme of our wedding. He even delivered the most gorgeous gifs I’ve ever seen! He never once questioned the non-traditional elements of our wedding. As a queer couple in Arkansas, one of my concerns was finding vendors who we would be comfortable around (and vice versa). He never asked any question he didn’t need to and never once made us feel awkward. I couldn’t recommend him enough. If you want to see yourself and all the people you love in the most colorful, genuine, and artistic photos you’ve ever seen, then he is the right photographer for you!

Kari Produced the most incredible work for us! He made us feel so comfortable and communicated everything he needed in such an easy way my stressed out bride brain could comprehend and relax with him as well. His style of photography allowed us to capture a very wide range of colors and skin tones and textures perfectly! Im beyond grateful to have hired such a wonderful photographer and cannot recommend him enough!

Kari was an absolute joy to work with! He helped my husband and I find authentic looking poses and was able to capture our Wedding in an authentic way. Due to medical reasons my father was unable to attend my wedding day and he said that looking through the photos from Kari made him "feel like [he] was there." We received multiple positive comments from guests and vendors regarding how pleasant Kari was to have shooting our event. From planning the wedding through obtaining photos after the fact Kari was very easy to work with. I highly recommend hiring him for both your engagement photos and wedding day to become comfortable behind the camera to make the wedding day go smoother.

I cannot say enough good things about Kari. He was easily the best decision I made about my wedding (besides picking my husband). It seemed he was everywhere at once and got pictures of absolutely everything. We had our dogs in the wedding and he was super accommodating with them. Where do I begin!? We hired Kari almost a year ago and he has been incredible throughout our engagement and most recently, photographing our wedding day. He answered all our questions immediately and I knew when we first met him that we clicked and that we had found our wedding photographer. Not only am I in LOVE with our photos that I can’t wait to frame but he also captured our engagement pictures with so much kindness, we framed and displayed them at our reception! Working with Kari during our October 2021 wedding was wonderful! My husband and I are pretty laid back ‘live in the moment’ folks and not big on posing for photos and Kari was with us and our ‘style’ every step of the way. While we did do a number of the posed photos (that turned out beautifully,) the majority of the photos were those impromptu photos that truly documented the day. Kari genuinely listened to our vision during the pre-wedding meetings which resulted in photos that were exactly what we had hoped for. In addition to the beautiful photos, Kari was professional (on time, efficient communication, reliable), friendly, and reasonably priced. Thank you Kari for everything!

My fiancée and I recently had our engagement photoshoot with Kari. It was a great pleasure to have him as our engagement photographer. He made me and my partner very comfortable for the photoshoot at a public place. He was on-time for the photoshoot and very helpful during the shoot. His work is totally awesome and we got the edited final pics within 4 days and all the images looked incredible. I would highly recommend Kari Bjorn for the photoshoots.

Kari was very kind from the beginning and quick to respond. He was helpful in giving us options that helped our kind-of 'short notice' photographer that left us hanging. It was a fun back-and-forth of giving and seeing inspirations for possible photos to be taken. He was punctual and ready with the biggest smile and welcoming personality. The completed pictures were sent about 12 days after the wedding. We let him know that it was not an issue if it took longer. They all looked marvelous and it looked magical! Happiest bride/groom with his work overall.

If Kari is available on your wedding day, hire him!! I was fortunate enough to have him capture our beautiful wedding in July 2021. He is the most patient, receptive and affirming photographer I’ve ever met. His communication prior and following our event was superb! He knows how to frame people so that everyone looks their best and gives great directions. He asks for your input prior to the event so that he can get a glimpse of what you’re anticipating your vision to be on your wedding day. He is extremely skilled at his craft. You won’t be disappointed in your decision to hire Kari!

We cannot recommend Kari enough! We met Kari through Zoom and even through our devices, we could tell immediately that Kari had great energy and really wanted to capture our day well for us. He was not only responsive, but definitely learned what our "vibe" was, was easy-going, and open to all suggestions. He made us feel so comfortable during our wedding day and his pictures are beyond amazing. He is light-hearted but takes his work seriously, yet is able to capture the love, warmth, and light of the day. I am seriously going to plan more parties just so I can use him again!

My husband and I hired Kari to take our anniversary photos. We were very impressed with how easy Kari was to work with and absolutely love our photos. Kari responded very quickly to all of my messages and was very flexible with scheduling. Kari was our photographer for our brief wedding ceremony at City Hall in Buffalo a couple of weeks ago. We never had any prior experience hiring a professional photographer and Kari was absolutely amazing. We contacted Kari with very short notice, but he was very accommodating and understanding of the circumstances. He arrived early with all of his gear, and although we were a bit nervous, he quickly put us at ease and made the whole shoot extremely fun and something we will never forget. The photos that he took were spectacular. Beyond that, he is genuinely empathetic and just a great person to be around. We would highly recommend him for any occasion and we are truly thankful that he took us on as clients.

Kari was absolutely amazing to work with. He was so responsive, professional, kind, and really went above and beyond. He also took care in making sure we were comfortable during the pandemic by social distancing and wearing a mask. It was not only a joy to work together but the end work product was better than we could have ever imagined. He has a wonderful eye for capturing beautiful photographs from different angles. There are no words to describe Kari Bjorn's work. He is the best photographer Buffalo has to offer. Not only are his photographs phenomenal, his attention to detail and planning took the stress out of everything for us. Every part of the process was so easy, from out initial phone meeting to the day of our wedding. Kari answered all of our questions and gave great suggestions in a shared moodboard on Pinterest. He made my husband and I feel so comfortable and relaxed while taking our photos, we especially loved the candid photos he caught of us.

Absolutely amazing! He was very professional and responsible from beginning to end. These elopement photos exceeded our expectations. We went to the wrong location(my fault) so we didn't have the lighting he wanted and were not able to go to the second location but he made this happen!! So grateful!

We're in love with the pictures and they captured our special moments perfectly. Kari was absolutely a pleasure to work with. Our wedding was affected by COVID and we decided to elope with a few close friends. I contacted Kari at the last minute, and he really went above and beyond to accommodate us on such short notice. He took his own personal time to scope out photo locations to make sure we had the best lighting for the pictures. He made us feel so comfortable during the shoot, and the pictures turned out breathtaking with a fast turnaround time and wonderful edits! I cannot recommend Kari enough!
