If I could give a million stars, I would. Karyn and Joe are the BEST photographers in the world. They are amazing people- easy to work with, super sweet and fun to be around. My wedding had several ups and downs the months leading up to it due to COVID, but they made it clear that their intentions were to make my husband and I’s day spectacular (safely of course). I cannot recommend them enough. The pictures we got back are phenomenal. They capture every detail of the day, and everyone I show says they’re some of the best wedding pictures they’ve ever seen. Wow! Karyn & Joe were amazing! The best part about this couple is that you get two photographers for the price of one. While Karyn is taking all the classic wedding shots, Joe takes the candid. So, you end up having two different views of the same moment. Karyn made sure to communicate plenty to ensure that we were all on the same page on the big day, especially being that it was a long distance wedding. After doing the initial consultation with Karyn, it was clear that we were in good hands and we never once stressed over photos. Not to mention, this couple is a blast!!! We had so much fun with them, they truly made our day that much more special. I can't say enough special things about these two. She responded to our emails/texts promptly and addressed any questions or concerns we had. -They were punctual with all of our in person meetings and never late. -They were able to select the outdoor locations for our wedding shoot which turned out perfect (we told them we'd go wherever they recommend). -For the engagement session my wife and I asked for a specific location outside of Grand Rapids which they were happy to accommodate (they actually gave us extra time as we had phenomenal lighting and they wanted to make sure we took advantage of it). Karyn and Joe were absolutely amazing. With a destination wedding, we were trying to make it very simple. Karyn went above and beyond in helping to coordinate everything for our wedding, even down to finding local flower shops and bakeries to help us. We had a very unique request. We wanted a shorter shoot of just my husband and I before our wedding but none of the wedding itself (it was a small, private event.) Of all the photographers we contacted, Karyn May Photography was the only one that took the time to get to know our story and customized their normal package to what we wanted. Karyn was on time, professional, and really rolled with us as we requested different shots and shifted the shoot from mostly outside our hotel to all indoors since it was so hot and humid. It was done with a smile, great attitude and an natural ability to "see" great photos. I give Karyn May Photography my highest endorsement.

WONDERFUL PICTURES, WONDERFUL TEAM I did my research to pick an engagement/wedding photographer, and Karyn and Joe were absolutely amazing. They were so personable, friendly, and encouraging over the phone and in person. We had a blast at our engagement session; they drove all the way to our home in Chicago and traveled across the city to take shots in four different places. They made a weird experience comfortable and fun. Our wedding was no different! It was like having old friends capture our most special moments on our perfect day. We are in love with all of our photos and are having a hard time picking favorites! From our initial meeting, our stunning engagement pictures, all the way through the wedding day – it was definitely the best decision! We had a wedding of 415 people, a big, energetic bridal party, and not a lot of time to do pictures. We went into it knowing that we may not get all the pictures most couples get (because of our situation). Nonetheless Karen and Joe not only got every picture that we wanted/needed, they were able to get another 45 minutes of pictures done! They were so well prepared, efficient, and professional. Karen and Joe, take immense pride in their work, and know how important their role is. We saw this quality first hand with our engagement pictures and were immediately ecstatic to have their photography on our wedding day! They backed up everything they said in our initial meeting, and some, with their work. Our pictures were stunning. The Perfect Duo for your Big Day Our top priority once my husband and I started planning our wedding was to book a great photographer. My husband’s sister got married the year prior and unfortunately, her wedding photographer misled them at the time of booking and they were very disappointed with the results. They only had a small handful from the entire day that were even acceptable for printing or to put in an album. When it was time for planning our wedding, we wanted to make sure that we did not end up in a similar position. We went to many bridal shows an met many photographers. While many of them looked good, Karyn and Joe stuck out to us among all of the rest. They are both some of the sweetest people you will ever meet! They were so personable, warm, and easy to get along with. Immediately after meeting them, we knew we wanted to work with them! Before our engagement shoot, we had a lot of conversation back and forth about shooting locations. Karyn had some really great ideas and insight and listened to our preferences to help find the perfect location. Our engagement shoot was so much fun and Karyn and Joe captured some really great moments, including some cute ones with our new puppy. The day of our wedding, Karyn and Joe were fantastic! They got shots of us getting ready separately as well as candid shots before our first look as well other little details we hadn’t even though of. We had picked out several shooting locations for before the ceremony with our bridal party, but unfortunately we were running a little late and were rushed for getting to all of our sites. They remained flexible and were able to get phenomenal shots at the spots we were still able to make it to. They were very organized throughout parts that could have been chaotic (family portraits). They got shots of the reception venue before it was filled with people which were absolutely gorgeous. They were able to get such entertaining dancing pictures of our guests as well as ones with people mingling. We, (as well as our guests) were so impressed with how they were able to capture so many beautiful moments of the day and did not insert themselves into the center of everything like I’ve seen with other wedding photographers. Once they finished editing, they sent them to us in such a cute package, proving that the details truly matter! Booking Karyn and Joe was the best decision we made during our planning process! Karyn and Joe were an excellent team at our wedding this August in Grand Rapids. Karyn took the time to Skype with me before our wedding since I wasn't able to meet her in person before the event and for an hour we talked about what I was looking for, requested photos, styles, etc. It was phenomenal. The day of, Karyn and Joe took outstanding posed and candid photos of the night that I cannot stop showing off! They really go the extra mile- our photos arrived in the cutest box packaged with a bow and even a few extra prints! They are PHENOMENAL and I highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience working with Karyn and Joe! Starting back when I first e-mailed Karyn about being our photographer, she responded within a few hours (this very rarely happens with wedding vendors, they usually take forever to respond). We asked if they would be willing to travel from GR to Traverse City and they were more than happy to do so. We had a blast shooting our engagement photos and were blown away at how cool those pictures turned out. On our wedding day, Karyn and Joe really helped make the day run smoothly. They were there shooting photos all day long, starting with getting ready and ending with awesome shots from our dance party at the end of the night. Our favorite part was when we were shooting our photos of just the two of us in the vineyard. They helped us loosen up and really look natural in all of our pictures. We loved that our photos really show off our personalities as there are many of us laughing as well as many very romantic pictures. We just got our pictures back and I have to say, I've probably looked at all 2000 pictures at least 10 times now. We are obsessed and couldn't be happier with out they turned out!
