Kat Nielsen Photography is a wedding photography company based in Richland, WA. Owner Kat loves what she does, not least because her work enables her to meet so many wonderful and happy couples. Kat is naturally extroverted; she loves making connections and getting to know people. She doesn’t see her couples merely as clients; she regards them as friends.
Over the years, Kat has built many terrific and lasting relationships with her couples. She loves seeing families grow and change, and she feels honored to be able to witness so many of life’s most precious moments. Kat enjoys capturing real moments and raw emotions, and she can’t wait to create a collection you’ll absolutely love.
Kat Nielsen Photography covers weddings all across the Tri-Cities region and beyond. Kat’s basic package includes toning services and high-resolution digital images. Add-ons, including an engagement session, a second photographer, prints, and thank-you cards, are also available. Kat is amazing! Her personality makes the day so fun and she definitely helped us stay on timeline. She is punctual, communicative, and takes excellent photos. Would recommend to anyone!
Excellent! Would recommend to everyone. She was extremely good at communication. Her photographs are beautiful. She is very quick to get you sneak peeks. Her pricing was good for the market. But the number one thing I have to say is she is so fun to be around and she makes it feel like she is your friend at your wedding taking photos. You don’t feel like there is a strange person at your wedding! We adore Her!
From before the wedding until after, Kat was an amazing photographer for our wedding and am beyond thankful for her expertise, talent, personality, flexibility, and organization. She asked and listened to any and every request for certain pictures we wanted, had a detailed minute to minute plan that we formulated according to sunset time and things I wanted to add. She helped create a realistic time schedule and made sure to stick with it to ensure we got all the pictures we wanted. During the wedding she helped pose us; was encouraging, fun spirited and energetic, and can make anyone feel comfortable on camera. I really appreciated that she captured so many details that we had at our wedding. From the reception, table numbers, flowers, cookie favors, in-the-moment candids, to the fun food caterers. You could basically attend the wedding through our pictures and captured all the moments I could ever want. The quality of the editing was my FAVORITE part. She kept them natural but with a little more color and sun. She was SO flexible with her editing that I was able to send messages back and forth about a certain picture and changed it as I had imagined. She returned the pictures extremely quick and honestly so worth every penny. Kat capturtes everything you would want and goes the extra mile!
From our engagement photos to our wedding day Kat was the absolute best photographer! The way she connected with us and our bridal party could not have been more perfect! She is professional, organized, easy to communicate with and the most down to earth person we have met! We HIGHLY recommend you book her for any special occasion! She is the best hype woman to have by your side! We love her so much!! 💗
I cannot recommend Kat enough. We used her as our wedding photographer in 2023 and for one, our pictures are everything I could’ve wished for and more, and two, she is super outgoing and made the entire experience really fun.
Since we’d already taken engagement photos, she came to shoot our rehearsal dinner which was an awesome way to use that service. As for day of, the weather was gloomier than expected which resulted in moodier photos, which I love. I had some doubts about coloring afterwards (the barn we had our reception in can tone really orange) but she was quick to clear everything up and again, those photos came out great.
She is really communicative throughout the process which makes you feel at ease. And she got our pictures to us in time for Christmas cards which was sooner than her contract timeline stated.

I absolutely am so excited for Kat to shoot our wedding. We had our engagement session, and she was the most kind human ever. Being in front of the camera was so easy with her as a photographer. She had so many ideas for different pictures, and I love all of my photos. I cried when I got my gallery back. 100000000% recommend.
She was a blast to work with and made us feel so natural. She was amazing at helping us pose and so fun! Totally recommend!
Kat and her team were wonderful to have as wedding photographers. They were very knowledgeable and prompt, which provided a nonstressful environment on a day that could get stressful. They were kind and willing to accommodate my last minute preferences. The photos I have received so far are incredible. They are just as stunning as I had hoped from such a highly rated team. Kat also kept in close contact with me leading up to the wedding, which allowed me to have fewer things to worry about as the day drew nearer because I knew exactly what to expect from them. Totally worth the money!
Working with Kat was an absolute dream. She truly is the ultimate hype women during your wedding and when you need it the most.
Her turn around time is amazing, her communication is superb, her tips/tricks were all on point. She makes sure you are taken care of.

We felt so comfortable working with Kat, and it shows in the photos! She was able to adjust as needed throughout the wedding day and made sure to capture all the shots we had hoped for. She was able to work with our location that was limited on background options for the photos, and was so great at wrangling people together for them. Kat is absolutely amazing! She hypes you up and makes you feel like a million bucks on your big day! Our pictures were incredibly stunning! We had so many people compliment our photos and said they were some of the best photos they have seen. She truly captures your big day in a beautiful way! We love her so much that we want her to be our forever photographer for all our photos!
Kat made us feel so comfortable during pictures and really understood how much we both hated taking pictures. She was so much fun and my family raved about how easy going she was. Katie is THE BEST! I had a little elopement ceremony and she made my vision come true! She made all the people in my wedding party comfortable in front of the camera and got along great with everyone! She made sure my husband and I got what we wanted. Love love Kat Nielsen photography! She went beyond my expectations. With being a COVID bride I faced many obstacles left and right, but Kat reassured and did whatever she could to help bring my vision to life. Our wedding photos came out amazing. I was pleased to see that she captured my actual wedding colors with her editing. I’ve seen a lot photographers who edit so much that the colors and the mood of the wedding look entirely different. Our guests and bridal party also liked how our photographer engaged with them while she was taking photos. Kat Nielsen is our number one wedding photographer we recommend.
Loved her pictures! She went above and beyond for us. All the guests loved her and were so tickled that she was always there to capture those special moments! We have no idea how she was everywhere at once, but she was and it shows in the pictures! The quality and quantity were more than we could have ever hoped for! We would recommend her to everyone!
We LOVE our wedding photos. She was so flexible with us as we had manyyy changes! I appreciate the way she would coach you up from the behind the camera to get all those dreamy shots .. I have so many of these photos hanging around my house now. My husband and I have gone to her even after the wedding to get family photos and will continue to do so because she’s awesomeee :)
Katie is SO talented! She makes being in front of a camera easy and comfortable! She is so good about posing you in natural looking positions and made it fun! 10/10 would recommend! When I got my wedding pictures back, we were so excited! They were beautiful!
