Kate Preftakes Photography

Having known of Kate since I was a teenager, I always admired her gorgeous and artistic photography. I made an promise to myself that I will only use her when it was my special day. No regrets!! Our engagement photos were so organic and beautiful. She has a way of capturing all the smiles and the true magic between my husband and I. Our wedding day, her and her mother Nadine were not only on task, but SO sweet and truly happy for me and Nate. Seeing them beaming helped Nate and I feel good in front of the camera. Kate, Nadine, and Sorrell Downing put SO much effort into making our day unique and beautiful. If I could I would rate her 1,000/10. A+++. I’ll use her for every life event from here on out.

Kate is an absolute dream!! I am an event planner by trade so I took planning our wedding very seriously and was never short on questions to be asked or detailed timelines to be followed and Kate was as responsive and attentive as they come! She is very sought after and busy and it’s easy to see why but you would never know it by her service and attention to her clients. Not to mention we just received our photos back and they are GORGEOUS. We did our engagement and wedding photos with Kate and she understood our vision immediately and took it and ran with it. We didn’t do a first look and so we wanted to move quickly through our photos during cocktail hour and she was incredibly efficient while still making sure we got all of the beautiful shots throughout our venue of which there were so many. Kate makes you feel comfortable right off the bat and even got my husband to enjoy taking a bunch of photos in a row J. We also had the pleasure of working with Kate’s mother on our wedding day who was equally as wonderful to work with and made it even more special. Kate’s warmth and care for her clients radiates immediately when you meet her and I can confidently say she was one of the best and most reliable choices we made throughout our wedding planning!

Kate talked to me for probably an hour during our first conversation, over 6 months before our wedding. She took the time to understand our relationship and our goals for photographs. On the days leading up to our wedding, she helped us figure out the timing and the shot list, and things to keep in mind with our big families. It was so nice to feel like Kate really knew what she was doing to help us prepare a smooth photographic process. Our actual wedding day was a little insane with weather but Kate was cool, calm, and collected. Instead of getting frustrated, she used the weather and the scenery to get some incredible shots. Her attention to detail and her eye for beauty are amazing and I’m SO glad we booked Kate and her team for our special day! Would book her again if I have other events in the area in the future for sure. Thank you, Kate!

We used Kate and her mother as our two wedding day photographers - what a treat! The entire day, the two women were friendly and energetic, always complimenting us on how we looked. We felt like celebrities! We are very pleased with how our pictures have come out and are very satisfied with the job that they did. We got debuted on Kate's blog a few weeks after our wedding, and got sent the link to an online slideshow and pictures from our wedding day in just a little over a month. The turnaround was fantastic. We will be receiving the rights to our pictures in a few more months, which will be an exciting time to relive our beautiful day - and memories that we will now have forever!

I was so thrilled to book Kate to photograph our wedding- of all our vendors I was the most excited about and had the most confidence in her. Our pictures came out AMAZING! Seriously, her work is gorgeous. If you want your special day captured in soft, natural photographs she is the way to go and the absolute best! At the end of the day all you have left are your memories and the photographs, I am so happy we invested with her for ours, she is truly the best!

Working with Kate was truly a pleasure from day one. I saw some of her photos on Style Me Pretty which led me to her website and after our first phone conversation, I knew that she was the photographer for us. My husband, on the other hand, likes to explore every possible option and after looking at countless photographers' work, agreed that Kate was the best choice for us. Kate and her second shooter arrived early on the day of the wedding and ready to go, which was awesome because she was able to get so many beautiful "getting ready" shots. They were both so nice and fun to work with and really put me at ease. You could tell that they both really love what they do as they put so much care into their work and truly seem excited about it. The day after we returned from our honeymoon, we received an email from Kate with a link to her blog post featuring our wedding and a special slide show she put together for us, which my mom and I have not stopped watching since. Kate captured so many beautiful moments, not only between my husband and I, but also of our friends and family and all of the little details we had spent many months preparing. She was even able to get great photos of our 2 dogs who were part of our day and our 2-year old nephew who was our ringbearer...all of which are always on the move! She also has a wonderful way of putting the photos together to tell a story. We are so in love with every single one of our photos and thankful for Kate's wonderful work!

Kate and her mother were so amazing. They not only captured all of the precious moments of the day, they were able to occasionally give me a second to breathe! Even though it was freezing outside, Kate and her mother stayed outside (without gloves I might add) to get all the shots we wanted. I do not have enough good things to say about this team!

...how lovely it was having Kate as our photographer. She is talented, professional, fun, friendly, did I mention talented? I was so comfortable having her around, which I really think helped my photos turn out natural and relaxed. (or as relaxed as I could have been on my wedding day!) Kate took a perfect mix of photojournalistic style shots with more traditional ones, and she captured so many of the small moments and details that I would have missed on my hectic day. I'm having so much trouble picking my favorite shots for my albums! I would recommend Kate Preftakes to anyone in a heartbeat.

If there was an overall rating of 1 million it would be fore Kate! She was so incredible! The pictures are beyond words. She took the vision I had for pictures on our wedding day and brought it to life! I have since spoken with her and told her that I can't wait for her to shoot the other great moments in our lives!
