My name is Kate Scrivner, and I am a live wedding painter based in Charleston, South Carolina. I travel all over the world painting couples in love on the happiest day of their lives! I have a deep love and passion for painting and for relationships.
Live wedding painting will add a unique element of entertainment for you and your guests to experience on your wedding day. You will also go home with a one-of-a-kind, family heirloom that will be passed down for generations to come. I am thrilled that you are considering having a live wedding painter on your special day; you deserve it! I can't wait to hear about your dreams for your big day and for your live wedding painting.
On your wedding day, I will arrive a few hours early to set up and begin on the background. I will paint throughout your event (typically 5-7 hours), capturing the special moment of your choice. Leading up to your wedding day, we will discuss ideas, and I will find out exactly what you are envisioning for your painting. You and your guests can watch the process unfold throughout the night, and we will have a fun reveal at the end of the night. Depending on the size of the painting, the piece is typically completed by the end of the wedding!

I was born and raised in Columbus, GA. I studied studio art (focusing in painting) at Columbus State University and had the opportunity to learn under several very talented artists. While in school, I began the journey that is my business! I started by painting commission which eventually led me to paint at a friend’s wedding. It was the most incredible experience, I loved it so much!! Since then, I have painted at over 150 wonderful weddings. I have a passion for love, for people, and for art.

ut I felt like she was actually a friend. We spoke to her several times prior to the wedding to ensure that our vision came to life. Kate even asked about the dress code to ensure she would fit into the crowd. She did a watercolor of my wedding dress and was going to bring it with her on the wedding day, but I wanted it a little bit earlier so the photographer could take professional photos of it, so she mailed it to me ahead of time! She was also a dream on the day of the wedding. The vision for the painting was outside, but there was a summer thunderstorm brewing. Kate showed up early and took pictures before the rain, so that she could paint it outside even if it rained (just in case). She painted a sword arch ceremony in front of my childhood church, bringing aspects from both my life and my husband's life into one beautiful painting. She usually finished with the painting at the end of the night to give to the couple, but she had warned us ahead of time that she was anticipating needing to take our painting home just to ensure everything was perfect. She also offers framing options to purchase from her, and she will frame it for you. She shipped the painting and thank you notes with the painting on them to use when we got back from the honeymoon and it was just AMAZING. I sat on the floor and cried when I got it. It will definitely hang in our house for the rest of our lives. Basically every aspect of Kate's work was professional, beautiful, and beyond my expectations. Following the wedding, almost all of the texts I got about the wedding were about Kate and how cool the live painting was. Seriously, do NOT make the mistake of not hiring Kate. You will not regret it.

Her down to earth personality made me feel so comfortable and you can tell that she has so much passion for what she does. I told her my situation and she made and mailed me a "stocking stuffer" for my wife for Christmas letting her know she would be painting our wedding. ictures speak a thousand words then Kate’s painting of our big day speaks a million. The level of detail she included in such a short amount of time was astounding. She even included our pup who wasn’t able to be with us the day of!
Looking at the painting you think it’s a picture printed canvas it is THAT true to life. All our guests loved watching Kate work throughout the reception and she always had a group of people clustered around her watching the picture unfold. Kate has such a warm personality and that some guests even asked if she was from the in-law side of the family! Kate was truly our favorite part of our wedding and every time we see the painting on the wall we are brought back to the best day of our lives.
