iancé to give him the pictures on our wedding day. If you've ever done one of these shoots, you know it can be a little awkward to being with but not with Katie! She was so welcoming and made me feel very comfortable. We met beforehand and she asked me detailed questions to make sure the pictures were what I was expecting. The morning of my shoot my make up and hair stylist got really sick and cancelled. Katie found me someone to do both within 30 minutes and it was so nice to have her help during a tiny crisis! We booked a photographer from out of town to do our wedding since we had experience with her but if I was to choose a Charlotte photographer, it would hands down be Katie. I definitely plan to use her for other photos in the future!

a pleasure to work with. Typically you feel awkward at first but there were no awkward moments throughout our entire shoot. My fiancé is kinda shy when it comes to meeting new people but he felt so comfortable around katie and had an absolute blast cracking jokes with her and really opening up to her. and didn’t meet her until we met up on location for our engagement photos in the Spring of 2016. Right from the beginning we knew that Katie was going to be perfect for us. We immediately felt so comfortable with her and she gave suggestions for shots and posing that well suited us as a couple. Plus we had quite the rowdy wedding party which was a challenge inended familiitself :) At the meet and greet I could tell Katie was experienced, understood the importance in details and is a part of your team throughout the planning journey. She makes difficult family discussions easier (gotta love the modern/blended families!), keeps you on schedule, is continuously moving items laying around to get the most timeless photo, searches for the best photo ops and jumps in to help with non-photography tasks like pinning boutonnieres on the groomsmen. Her passion for her craft runs deep and it shows when she is in her element. It was refreshing to have such a genuine spirit during a chaotic day. She gave a military discount to us and traveled two hours to take engagement photos for us at a location special to us. Her pictures are as creative and special as her personality. Her contract was fair and straight forward. My husband and I were very pleased with her work. We didn't use up all the hours during the wedding we payed for, so she even got together with us for an hour or an hour and a half to take pictures for us again at another location on a later date to make sure we got our money worth. I was able to meet with her before the event date (I don't live in Charlotte anymore) and she was just wonderful to meet with. She has the perfect balance of professionalism and personal touch. We got along well in our meeting and she even went the extra mile to meet with my event coordinator (on her own time) to look at the event space in advance. n Georgia, and had our first engagement session done down here in September. However, being a born and bred Jersey girl, coupled with the fact my fiance proposed on our beach at Long Beach Island, I knew that we'd have to make an engagement session there work. I also just knew that I had to see if Katie was available (who lives in NC). Amazingly, not only was she super interested in photographing me and George on the island that her and I called home during so many summers, but she rearranged her schedule to come up the weekend that we just happened to be in NJ in April!! The day-of was magical-she listened to everything I could describe that was floating around in my head, and made it reality. She let us be ourselves and very natural with each other, with minimal posing and staging. The photographs perfectly reflect our easy-going nature and fun-loving attitude. I have received a ridiculous amount of compliments on the photos I've posted to facebook! And when we arrived at Freedom Park early evening and it was full of people, we thought the session was going to be really tricky to do. She went above and beyond to meet with us several times in order to get a better idea of what our wedding day would be like—this was important to us as we incorporated different cultural elements and had a non-traditional wedding party—Katie took this all in stride and had some great ideas to make this work. We opted not to have a day-of coordinator (which in retrospect may have been a crazy idea), but Katie stepped up to save the day and calmly guided us all through each moment. She was able to go off on her own and take pictures of things that she knew would be important to us without having to ask us anything during the day. We knew she was there the whole time, but in a sense, she blended into the background seamlessly due to what she calls her photojournalistic approach (this is wonderful, as I have attended several weddings in which the photographer/videographer was standing in the way and being a distraction). She was able to capture many candid, festive, hilarious moments of us and our guests that we will enjoy and share with our family for a long time to come.
