Katherine Elyse Media

day, and guided us through the process of developing a timeline and special shot list. She was always incredibly helpful and a quick responder. On the day-of was when she really blew us away. It truly felt like spending the day with your hilarious hype-man best friend. I tend to be a very high-stress person and she immediately put me at ease, which is NOT easy to do. The groom is running behind? No problem, Kate will rearrange her photography timeline to still capture everything. The bride forgets her wedding shoes at home (yep, I really did)? Kate’s assistant/husband will literally drop everything to drive to your messy house while FaceTime -ing you to go find them. And then there’s the photos themselves - holy moly! One of the biggest reasons we booked her was that she captured color and energy so clearly. Obviously I was hopeful she could capture us in the same way, but also nervous because I tend not to like seeing photos of myself. When we got our first photos back from her, I was oscillating between crying, smiling so big my face hurt, and just being in awe. Kate’s work is STUNNING. So many people reached out to us on social media (whether they were at the wedding or not) to say how incredible the photography was! Kate is THAT GIRL. I felt like I could be my complete goofy self with her, and somehow still ended up looking like a princess in the photos she takes. 1000% yes.

YTHING I was looking for in a photographer. Very few photographers in my area could show their work with darker skin tones, but not Kate. Kate’s commitment to social justice and capturing queer couples is what drove us to say yes to her. We had so much fun working with Kate and her team. We immediately fell in love with the photos from our engagement shoot and don’t even get me started on our wedding day photos! I mean she even won an award for one of the best photos of 2024 through Junebug Weddings. If you’re looking for a photographer to deliver phenomenal photos, uplift you, maintain timely communication, and keep you calm on your big day, then Kate is your girl!!

f the camera. Kate made it feel so natural and fun, and the photos feel so authentic to who we are. Our whole wedding party kept talking about how fun she was to be with on the big day. Photos came back quickly and are so gorgeous.. we would book with her again in a heartbeat!

photography!

us was accustomed to getting our photos taken and she did a wonderful job at making us feel comfortable and guiding us while still making the photos look natural. We really wanted photos that weren’t “posed” and she delivered! We got so many wonderful and candid shots with all of our guests. She also did a great job at helping us set up reasonable expectations for our timeline and photos and because of that I never felt rushed. We have so many wonderful photos from our engagement and wedding that I will forever cherish. We cannot thank or recommend Kate enough!

of the park- the edit style is filled with color and life, too. Our wedding weekend was made amazing by the team! Meagan (photo shooter) was such a star and everybody loved her energy. AJ (video) was so prepared had a calm presence. We love the photos we've got back, just super pleased all around.

sonality which helped put us at ease!

w available she was for calls and questions leading up to the day--even as other parts of the planning got stressful. We LOVE how our photos turned out, and we were especially excited to see a range of styles between the portraits and dance floor pictures. She really got the energy we were going for and didn't need a lot of direction. Kate was so kind and fun and did an amazing job of making everyone feel confident and comfortable.

e whole experience feel like you’ve met your best friend.

we got married in San Francisco, and she resides in another state). Special shoutout to AJ, you were amazing not only as a photographer but also for helping us with our look. Kate then delivered the edited photos in a timely fashion and with a very easy bulk download. Thank you Kate and AJ!

ears to come!

e daunting trying to find an LGBTQ+ friendly photographer in Ohio of all places, but Kate was absolutely the best. She got to know us during a short engagement session, so by the day of the wedding we already felt like best friends. You can really tell she cares about creating a positive, loving environment for her clients. She also went above and beyond with taking the time to learn our family members' names, communicating with other vendors, and even helped us put on our boutonnieres! If we had a million more weddings together, I would choose Kate to photograph it every time - she is absolutely brilliant. Kate - we are eternally grateful for your services, and we are so honored to have picked you, and your artistic expression, to capture the memories of our wedding day.

e and even more that we hadn't even thought of! The photos were edited gorgeously and the engagement album we have already received is such high quality. We had such a fun time with Kate & AJ shooting us, we have recommended them everytime when asked! Obviously we highly recommend Katherine Elyse Media!

ht, giving our guests a sun-kissed glow. AJ took our engagement photos as well and he was extremely easy to work with, making us feel a bit more comfortable in front of the camera.

e best wedding photos she's ever seen! Thank you so much for the beautiful photos!

rocess. And I can't really express how much of a blessing that was because my fiancé and I immediately had both a wedding expert and amazing new friend on our side. In fact, Kate was the first vendor we booked. In the midst of all the choices we had to make and the angst of decision making, hiring Kate as our photographer was the one thing I was certain I had wanted. Kate way, way, way, exceeded expectations of a wedding photographer for us. Her photography packages were great deals. She met with us on multiple occasions before our wedding to get to know us. She is warm and funny and supportive. She goes above and beyond to get great photos of you. For example, when we couldn't finish our engagement photo shoot in one day, we were able to meet up again with her at no charge. She didn't rush us. She made us feel comfortable. And we got a ton of photos. Kate also surrounds herself with an amazing team. For example, we added her Photobooth services to our package. And for our Photobooth photos, I had a very specific vision in mind for how I wanted the Photobooth templates to be and how the printouts to come out. The things I asked for were things that her partners at OhReilly Productions were NOT yet doing. But they literally went out of their way to make my vision come true. Lol. And I couldn't be happier with the result. Furthermore, the second photographer Kate had along and her videographer were equally amazing. They really helped us get through our wedding day. They cheered us on and encouraged us on how great our wedding was and how we were getting awesome shots on photo and video. Having Kate's team on our side meant that we had this entourage with us all day and we loved having them around. Plus, at one point in the evening, we did an impromptu photography line where we posed with these performers we had at our wedding and Kate's team had to start snapping photos of us. It was not part of our wedding plans but Kate's team went for it and got our photos and they were so cool and chill about it. And did I mention that on our wedding day, it was POURING rain? We got married on 12/31/22, a day full of storms and winds that were taking down trees. That didn't deter Kate and her team though. Kate helped us find creative ways to get really great photos indoors for our wedding. But not only that, we got some really awesome shots in the rain. And again, there were no complaints from her team and they were really into it. After our reception, Kate also stayed with us late and went with us downtown to catch some New Year's Eve Post-Wedding photos. She helped make the magic last all the way through midnight. Whenever I look back on our wedding day, I am always going to think to myself, "Thank GOD Kate was there guiding us through it all." I think the most important thing for me was that our guests really loved Kate and they loved her team. All of my guests commented about how great Kate was and how friendly she was. Everyone loved her partners like those operating our Photobooth and our second photographer and our videographer. And Kate also really got along well with our day-of coordinator and our MC. And in many ways, I think it was Kate's personality and demeanor and also her professionalism that made that happen. Kate really is the best.

The photos are simply insanely gorgeous, I can’t get enough compliments on them. Kate is loyal, sweet and honestly, the best photographer I have ever had. If you are looking for someone who is super communicative, will work with you and be flexible and make you laugh along the way, Kate is your wonderwoman!

ide their clients through the experience. Kate and her team all had such warm, comforting personalities. They were focused on getting as many great shots as possible, but they didn’t put any pressure on us or rush us into anything. We got hundreds of photos from our two-day wedding back in under ten weeks after the event. We’re so deeply grateful to have worked with them – we can’t say enough good things about KEP!

ith our wedding party), and kept the mood festive and fun. We are so love with our photos! I'd recommend her to any couple looking for a photographer.

ception! Her artistry and attention to detail elevated everything! Can’t wait to see the rest of our photos! Her live streamer sub-contractor, AJ, blew us away, we received comments from some of the virtual attendees who said it was like they were there in person. Can’t wait to see the recording from that too!!

one feel welcomed and appreciated throughout our entire wedding. I can't imagine our celebration without her. Her final images were pure art - thank you Kate for everything!

elopement & Lands end session in such a magical way. We chose Kate because I had seen her capture some epic shots for a friends wedding I was in. I wanted someone who we could trust and vibe with on the big day. The photos speak for themselves, but the behind the scenes stuff really deserves a shoutout too. Kate has an uncanny ability to read people's energy and then provide the right amount of direction to produce these dramatically beautiful shots. Plus, she left me educated with practical tips like what to do with awkward hands & how to tilt your chin & where to gaze. If you're trying to decide on a photographer, just go with Kate. You won't regret it! Months later, we're still getting comments from friends & family about how impressed they are. The only issue we have now is it's impossible to pick a favorite photo :)

was the only person I wanted for the job. Kate made sure that any pictures we specifically wanted were executed to perfection, that we were relaxed and comfortable the entire time, and captured our day perfectly. I can’t recommend Kate high enough.

he fun moments throughout the day.

notice but we chose Kate for a couple of reasons: 1) She is experienced in photographing queer couples and made us comfortable throughout the whole process 2) She listened to our vision for our laid back elopement and picked such perfect spots to photograph around Sacramento - a city we were not very familiar with 3) She helped us make something like an elopement at the county clerk's office more special and memorable than we ever expected. We didn't have any of our family or friends with us, but having Kate there felt like we had a friend by our side The final photos were even better than we expected. The editing and final selection were on point, with exactly the style we initially discussed. We will definitely be looking to Kate for future engagements!

and amazing person who knows just how to make you feel special on your wedding day. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for high quality, romantic, and fun wedding pictures.

process to viewing our gallery, communication was seamless and predictable. Kate's photos tell the story of our day without need for further context. She has a light, candid attitude and an ability to give easy-to-follow directions that made our photoshoots together incredibly stress-free. We're recommending her to everyone we know for weddings and smaller shoots alike. Be sure to book boudoir with her, too. It's so much fun. Kate's seriously the best!

is a true professional and so talented in every way. It was a pleasure to work with her and she made everything so stress-free regarding our photography. We would give our highest recommendation for Kate and her team, she has made the memories of our wedding so much more magical!

ile photographer. We will cherish all of the amazing and beautiful moments she captured for us on both our wedding day and 1st anniversary celebrations!

r with the memories Kate was able to catch and we now have forever. Thank you Kate & team!

. I am floored. Our engagement and wedding pictures are out of this world. We are so incredibly happy with her work. I would recommend Kate to anyone looking for incredible photography and an amazingly welcoming and friendly attitude.

ouple so that she can incorporate them into your photos. Kate offers numerous package options for your wedding photos/video and she graciously flexible with making the package work for your needs. Additionally, she was beyond wonderful with all of the modifications we had to made getting married in the era of COVID-19, which shows her strong, compassionate, understanding character. We hired her for both our engagement photos and for our wedding day. She was always punctual in all of our phone and email conversations. Her website is very easy to use and you can download your photos directly from your personalized page. She made both my husband and I so comfortable on the day of our wedding! We were able to really be ourselves during the formal pictures, and she captured some really beautiful candid moments. Kate will capture your day in a way that will help you remember everything that made your day so special. I truly cannot recommend her enough!

I were worried about being awkward and not looking our best and Kate does an amazing job of getting to know you as a couple and helping you feel comfortable. She captured us perfectly! She made jokes and laughed with us and eased us into beautiful poses effortlessly. She was up for anything and went along with my location requests happily and having never been to the park we went to, found the best spots and highlighted the natural beauty. Her eye is impeccable and on point. We loved working with Kate post-photo shoots also for our wedding prints. The editing and web-album she created for us is so beautiful and something we will cherish forever. She took our essence and love as a couple and captured it for us to share and enjoy with our family and friends for years to come. The photos came out so gorgeous. Kate was quick with the turn around and kept us informed of her process all along the way. She was always available for questions and support and willing to make any changes we asked for. I know I will be using Kate for every special event in my life. Can't wait to work with you again Kate! Thank you for what you do and for helping us create such beautiful memories.

e is transparent. No secret fees or not showing up. She will tell you exactly what's happening and exactly what you're paying for. For me, I needed someone to guide me through recommendations. She could have made me buy the most expensive options for everything but did everything possible to keep my neurotic self knowledgeable. 2. She can shoot editorial style AND natural/candid. My mother and I had very different perspectives when it came to photography. Thankfully, Kate was able to comply to both styles. 3. She can make the most awkward human presentable. I am incredibly uncomfortable with photos. Double so if I'm dressed up and made up. Kate was patient and helped position my face/body/hair/arms so that it isn't protruding in awkward angles. Most importantly, Kate is one of the few folks in the wedding industry I know that makes the bride feel beautiful and empowered. It's easy to nitpick on your own photos. For myself, I was super subconscious that my arms were too muscular. Her telling me that it looked awesome helped ease the insecurity because she's right, why would I want to look like I have thin arms when I've put all this work to making them look buff? Wedding stereotypes and what we define as beauty can be hard to break but I know 40 years from now when I look back at my photos I can proudly claim that not only was I was beautiful but strong as well. Thank you Kate.

makes the effort to really get to know you as a couple, and wants that to reflect in your photos. Our pictures are gorgeous, and we definitely recommend Kate for your next event!

ve that she put the photos on a website for us so we can look at them all organized in one place over and over! Only took off one star because we had some difficulty reaching her in the couple weeks leading up to the wedding, but she was committed the whole way and captured our memories beautifully.

o do my maternity photos with my toddler running around, and they were amazing! She did my newborn photos as well. She took her time to get my little one alseep and in the perfect place. Never once did we feel rushed or pressed for time. Recently she did my wedding and the sneak peeks are AMAZING! She had us laughing the entire time, even when it started to rain! Kate is professional, caring, enthusiastic, and passionate about her work! You will gain a friend and will not be disappointed!

the pictures and with how easy Kate is to work with. We are grateful and happy to refer her to any one who needs an amazing photographer! Thanks so very much Katherine Elyse Photography!

ken. When I spoke with her over the phone to schedule the photo shoot I was amazed at how attentive she was in figuring out THE best place for the photoshoot to match my wedding theme. On the day of the photoshoot she did amazing job making us both feel comfortable. So if you are looking for a photographer dont hesitate!!:)

ing on traveling out to CA for our baby shower. Honestly, I was equally as excited about the shower as I was about the fact that my time to work with Kate had finally come... maternity photos! From day one, Kate made our maternity shoot experience fun, comfortable, and SO exciting! She showed a genuine interest in ensuring that our vision for our shoot was met, and worked hand-in-hand with me to stylize every detail. Her presence is incredibly warm, confident, and compassionate (which is welcome when having to spend a little time in front of the camera!). Not to mention, Kate is ONE HELL OF A PHOTOGRAPHER! Her keen eye for perfect lighting is so impressive. In some of my favorite photos taken during our session, both my husband and I have a natural golden light beaming off of us in all of the right places; we look like fruitful, glowing GODS... honestly, what more could you want from a maternity photo? She was timely, communicative, and extremely professional. Her attention to detail was spectacular. She made us feel comfortable, and made the entire experience so much fun! Our maternity photos will be treasured not just by my husband and I, but by the sweet twins we have brewing up as well. We can’t thank Kate enough, and will jump at any opportunity we have to work with her in the future. If I could rate our experience even higher, I absolutely would, without hesitation. Look no further for your perfect photographer!

d had an amazing phone call with her prior to us meeting. She described it as having the chance to talk to an old friend and her and Kate got along so well that I knew I'd have to take the practical approach to deciding who would be capturing our wedding memories. Since we're local, we decided we would meet with Kate for a drink after work to see how the chemistry would be with the person who we would probably see the most during our wedding. Picking out your photographer is really important, and we didn't take it lightly. The photographer needs to be able to blend in, yet stand out and get things done. Frankly, I think the photographer is more important than any other person to make sure everything is staying on track! You can guess the meeting with Kate went so well that we immediately booked her for our wedding. Well, fast forward to the wedding and Kate more than outdid herself. Her extra shooter and her arrived on time, made us all immediately feel comfortable, and took a ton of shots that we knew we would be admiring for a lifetime. We had a list of key shots that we knew we wanted during the wedding and Kate not only made those a priority, but got them done fast and efficiently so we could enjoy our whole day! Fast forward a couple weeks after the wedding and we received some sneak peak photos and to say we were excited would be an understatement. Oh My God, these photos were out of this world. Every single person we showed a few of these sneak peak photos to couldn't believe the beauty of the moment she had captured. We married in Squaw Valley so we had many different sceneries that needed to be captured from huge nature shots to village shots and each one of these were done beautifully. Then, without too much time to pass so our excitement is still high, we get the digital prints to our photos. Every single photo, and that is not an exaggeration, was perfect. All of the requirements we needed were more than fulfilled by Kate - she showed up on time, took the shots we needed, and provided the photos to us after the event. If that's all your looking for in a photographer you're missing the personal aspect of the photographer truly being part of the wedding/family. Your photographer needs to be able to get your nephews to laugh and look at the camera, your parents to actually pay attention and be where they need to be, put you and your bride (or groom) at ease, keep in constant contact with you after the event so you know what and when to expect...and if you and your photographer get along as well as we did...you invite her to dance with you and your closest friends and family because you know you found someone special. That is Kate. Kate, thanks for everything - you truly are a master at what you do and I am so glad my wife found you!

ature, and I wanted to have a photographer that would listen to me, respect me, and most of all, help me. This whole wedding thing can be so new and scary! But Kate made us feel at ease immediately. We used her for our engagement pictures, and hiking through slightly muddy and unknown terrain has never been so fun. After that, we knew we had to have her for our wedding. We kept in contact for the entire year between engagement photos and the wedding. She reached out to see if we needed any help, if we felt overwhelmed. if we just needed someone to vent to about how stressful a wedding could be--anything. She became as important to our wedding day as any other part. When the big day came, I was (of course) crazy nervous, but Kate helped distract me and keep me focused on what really mattered: getting married. Everything else was just periphery. When her crazy long ten hour day was over, we felt sad for her to leave! We wanted to keep her there just to party with us :) Our pictures turned out exquisite, because Kate puts just as much love into the end product as she did throughout the whole experience with us. We now have a new, incredibly talented, lifelong friend, and I'm just so happy that I happened to scroll past her photos on Instagram.

was it. I though this was going to be tough..but sure enough she walked into the bridal suite, gave me a hug and started taking pictures. She welcomed my now step daughter with laughs and showed interest in the camera she brought. She took photos to last a life time. You know you have an amazing photographer when theres nothing but smile and tears. Her and her partner Asia were a honor to have. I would reccomend her to anyone that comes my way. Not just for weddings but for family, engaelgemnts and More. When the night came to an end I wanted her satu even though my time with her was up. I didnt want more photos, I wanted my new friend to hang out and party. Thank you Kate for your beautiful photos, friendship and company. I cannot wait to work with you again!

their energy and unfocused enthusiasm. Kate knew just what to do and how to do it. She took photos when the opportunity arose and created the perfect atmosphere for the family when opportunity failed. The ease at which she dealt with me and everyone was truly spectacular. If I could give her more stars, I would. It was such a great experience and I will be forever grateful for the beauty she captured that day!
