was very familiar with civil ceremonies at City Hall and was able to capture the day in a classic and genuine way to capture the joy of the big day. Katherine sent frequent emails with updates and tips on how to prep for the day and we had a preliminary call where we were able to make a schedule and plan out the day since we also had a wedding photoshoot afterwards in Golden Gate Park afterwards. During the day of, Katherine was on-time, flexible with when the other people in our group arrived, and guided us through the whole morning with when to check in, where to take photos, etc. She gave us some prompts of how to pose but overall she let us be natural and encouraged to be comfortable in front of the camera. The ceremony was captured beautifully by her and she took great group photos. We then went to Golden Gate Park, and she helped us take some cute coffeeshop and park photos, even with some bonus tennis court and piano pics (two of our favorite hobbies!). We received a sneak peek very promptly with an awesome of photos (~100 of them!) and a huge full gallery in about a month with lots of gorgeous film photos. There was a huge heat wave that weekend in San Francisco, and Katherine made the whole experience so pleasant and working with her felt like working with an old friend. She is so personable and I have been highly recommending her to my friends and family already! I would definitely recommend working with Katherine :)

After we filled out our questionnaire and had a phone call with her, it was her curiosity about the little (and I'd argue most fun) details about our relationship that confirmed she is so much more than objectively the best wedding photographer on TheKnot. Nobody captures emotion like Kat and her work speaks for itself. Siobahn, our second shooter was also so amazing and so sweet. You truly spend the most time that day with your photographer, and Kat was such a big factor in how much we enjoyed our day.

wedding so I had started following her on instagram long before my husband and I got engaged. We were planning our wedding back west, and so we started looking at photographers back there but I just couldn't find anyone who measured up to Katherine. Listen--if you want "trendy" photos for instagram with lots of filters, orange skin tones, poses, etc--then Katherine isn't for you. But if you want photos that truly capture your day how it really was, then look no further. I spent years pouring over my parents' and grandparents' wedding albums wanting something that felt that classic and real. And real is exactly what Katherine does. She has this amazing ability to be everywhere and no where all at once. I have been in a lot of weddings, seen a lot of wedding albums, and I have never seen a photographer capture candids as well as she does--the photos feel like screenshots from a movie where we look happy and fabulous all of the time! She truly has a photojournalistic approach. She caught every teary hug, hand squeeze, and glance from across the room. And her ability to make every type of light work to her advantage (harsh mid-day, dark dance floor, etc) is truly incredible. And don't worry--she will also get all of those family photos that your parents want and do it in a painless, seamless way! While we were initially hesitant about the cost of hiring a photographer from NYC to shoot a wedding back west, her prices are MORE than fair for what you are getting! She even did a mini shoot with us the night before to get us comfortable in front of the camera and they are some of my favorite photos from the weekend. Also--she made everyone feel so relaxed and comfortable the day of. My bridesmaids were obsessed with her (I mean how could you not be? She shows up in a gucci suit with effortless cool girl energy and is like "let's do this!"), she managed wrangling our very large wedding party with ease and even got my grandma to smile in photos which is a big deal! We woke up the next day to about 15 sneak peak photos from the night before, and had our entire wedding album in 6 weeks! The hardest part is choosing which photos to print! There are just too many that we love. TLDR: Hire this girl, she is smart as a whip, reliable, talented, and a consummate professional!

contract, Katherine made it clear she was there to support us with anything we needed leading up to the big day, whether that was offering suggestions for other vendors, timelines, or wardrobe advice. We did a pre-wedding photo session and are so glad we did. We did it in Central Park and Katherine knew all the great spots to capture photos. She gave us cues to help make sure the photos turned out well, but she never made us feel awkward or overly posed. We highly recommend doing a pre-session because it makes you feel so much more comfortable on your actual wedding day. Also, all the photos turned out great and are fun to have. On our actual wedding day, Katherine was amazing. She plotted a path from where we were getting ready to the wedding site to ensure we got a good range of photos. We've only seen our preview (delivered less than 12 hours after our wedding!), but they are all amazing and provide such a great range to help us relive the day. Aside from being a fantastic photographer, Katherine was calm, nice to be around, and helped with anything that was needed to make the day a success. She also captured all of the family photos but did it in a fast and efficient way. We cannot wait to see the rest of our photos! We felt lucky to have Katherine capture our special day and highly recommend her to any couples-to-be.

at I had a bruise on my arm (from our dog getting a little too excited saying hello :)) that showed on the photos, and Katherine immediately agreed to touch up the photos, and did so very quickly. We have an amazing combination of candid photos and portraits that capture everything about the day. We can't recommend her enough! One of my favorite things about her work is that our photos include the typical family portraits, perfectly executed documentary shots to catch all those candids, and artistic shots where she flexed her creative muscle. Taken together, each of our photos is a gem in its own right and going through our library of photos felt like digging into an onion - so many layers and new gems to find. At the end of the day, you pick a photographer for their style and Katherine hit it out of the park in that department. There’s nothing like hiring someone that is only working with you for the money. We knew very early on that Katherine was our photographer. Katherine is caring, understanding and works hard to accommodate her clients. She went above and beyond to get our engagement photos done. We had to reschedule like 2-3xs due to the snow but she was able to help us and traveled to our home to make it happen. Katherine is honest. When we went over pricing she did not try to upsell us a larger package. Then towards the end when we thought we couldn’t afford the second photographer, she said no big deal, I can handle it. We did use that second photographer BUT it was great knowing that someone is willing to do the same work without making extra money. That really says a lot. I can’t say enough about Katherine and her team. If you’re looking for a photographer who’s cool, down to earth and more like your cousin, hire Katherine. You will NOT regret it. Not for nothing but we fired our photographer to hire Katherine. That is how much we wanted her on our team.

We continued working together for a little over a year. s, I happened upon Wilde Scout via Instagram. I was immediately struck at how stunning the photos were, and how real they felt. These weren't your typical staged photographs. Katherine was capturing real moments and making them artful. We were sold. We also loved that she had us do an engagement shoot, so we could get to know her, she could get to know us and grow comfortable in front of the camera for the wedding day. And I am SO SO SO glad that we have those photos of just us. She even stayed way later than she had planned, in order to get all the shots she wanted.
