Katherine Marchand Weddings

the camera. The photos she took of us are some of my favorite photos that my partner and I have together (and we've been together more than 10 years). Don't think twice - book Katherine!

that portfolio !! Katherine is insanely talented. She cares deeply about her couples throughout the entire process (and beyond!) She has a way of bringing your wedding vision to life, while also keeping it true and natural to you. Katherine captures your love story as you see and feel it, all the in-between moments. From our engagement shoot in NYC to our wedding weekend in Rhode Island, Katherine brought energy, love, and passion to everything. Spending time with Katherine and her team is like spending time with your besties, who are also pro photographers. No one else we can imagine capturing our wedding day. We are forever grateful.

was very familiar with civil ceremonies at City Hall and was able to capture the day in a classic and genuine way to capture the joy of the big day. Katherine sent frequent emails with updates and tips on how to prep for the day and we had a preliminary call where we were able to make a schedule and plan out the day since we also had a wedding photoshoot afterwards in Golden Gate Park afterwards. During the day of, Katherine was on-time, flexible with when the other people in our group arrived, and guided us through the whole morning with when to check in, where to take photos, etc. She gave us some prompts of how to pose but overall she let us be natural and encouraged to be comfortable in front of the camera. The ceremony was captured beautifully by her and she took great group photos. We then went to Golden Gate Park, and she helped us take some cute coffeeshop and park photos, even with some bonus tennis court and piano pics (two of our favorite hobbies!). We received a sneak peek very promptly with an awesome of photos (~100 of them!) and a huge full gallery in about a month with lots of gorgeous film photos. There was a huge heat wave that weekend in San Francisco, and Katherine made the whole experience so pleasant and working with her felt like working with an old friend. She is so personable and I have been highly recommending her to my friends and family already! I would definitely recommend working with Katherine :)

ng exactly as she described. A few things we especially appreciated was that since we had a full destination wedding planned a couple months later, she was very mindful of our budget and worked with us to still get what we were wanting for the civil ceremony. She also created a fantastic guide to SF City Hall Weddings that she sent early and to help get us prepared. And she's very thorough and communicative; she responds to emails promptly and if there was even a slight delay in delivering anything she told us immediately. And of course the photos turned out beautifully! Overall, we just loved her energy. Since she set up a video call before our date to get to know us and what we were looking for, it was like meeting an old friend when the day came. She was so easy to work with and we felt immediately comfortable with her. I can only imagine what a joy she is to have for a full wedding! We highly recommend working with Katherine!

es and preferences of the bride and groom well in advance of the big day. She connects with you to learn your ideas and special requests so that her photographs capture your day in a way that is uniquely yours. She also brings her years of experience creating photos that are fun and poignant. Katherine spent the day with us and has given us a portfolio of memories that make us smile and laugh. We feel fortunate to have her as our photographer, and now, as our friend! Ilene and David

, Katherine is the real deal. Her personality is so infectious, we forgot we were even doing a photoshoot. Before we knew it, we were laughing, being silly, and just having fun with what felt like an old friend. She asked us all the right questions that made us feel at ease and boy, did it show in the photos. TLDR? If you don't book her, you're missing out big time. I would 1000% recommend her.

eat direction since we were both a little awkward in front of the camera. She always came prepared and made sure at City Hall she was able to get great shots from all the key places we had discussed. Bonus points, our parents loved the experience and the pictures!

nt of the camera, her warmth and goofy nature made it feel like we were hanging out with an old friend. She even helped guide us with our outfits and styling when we felt lost. The photos blew us away—they turned out even better than we could've imagined! She has an amazing ability to capture raw emotions in photos, making each shot truly special. Our digital and film photos turned out so beautiful, with vivid colors and sharp details. We couldn't believe it was us we were looking at! We’re so grateful to have worked with her and couldn’t be more impressed with how everything turned out. If you’re looking for a photographer who goes above and beyond to capture genuine moments and deliver stunning results, look no further. Working with Katherine was an unforgettable experience we’ll cherish forever!

go, where the best picture spots were, etc- but Katherine had it all laid out, she even told us where the best spot to park is. She is so easy going, makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera, and took the absolute best photos. Seriously- she exceeded our expectations and I am in LOVE with our photos. Thank you for everything, Katherine!!

the very start, Katherine was prompt and professional, arriving on time and ready to capture our special moments. Her attention to detail and dedication to getting our poses just right truly made a difference. She made us feel comfortable and confident throughout the shoot, ensuring that every shot was perfect. In just a two-hour session, Katherine delivered over 180 beautifully edited high-resolution photos that we will cherish forever. Her eye for composition and lighting is exceptional, and each photo captures the essence of our relationship in a stunning way. We highly recommend Katherine for anyone looking for a couples photoshoot, especially at SF City Hall. Her talent and professionalism make her an excellent choice for engagement or wedding photography. Thank you, Katherine, for creating such wonderful memories for us!

laughing candidly, and truly enjoying the photo shoot the entire time. We did an engagement shoot in San Francisco, CA and she absolutely nailed it - I loved how natural, candid, and beautiful all our photos came out in the city. My partner and I have done about 6 photoshoots, and she's our favorite photographer by far. I'd 10/10 recommend her to anybody and everybody for engagement/weddings!

os, rehearsal dinner, wedding, and every call, email, and question in between. Katherine makes you feel like you're talking to an old friend from the moment you meet her- she is warm, fun, funny, kind, and just knows how to put you at ease in front of the camera. We had a clear vision of what we wanted for our photos and she beyond exceeded our expectations. Every time I look through our photo gallery (which she delivered SO quickly) I find a new favorite, even 1.5 years after our wedding. She truly captured the feeling of being there from the intimate setting of our rehearsal dinner to the rowdy wedding reception. I cannot thank Katherine enough for being such a large part of making our wedding perfect.

it a day in our wedding journey that we will look back and cherish forever. Katherine has a gift for making people feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Not only does she make you FEEL great while you are taking photos, but her photography skills are truly unmatched. Our photos came out better than I could have imagined and we have received so many compliments from friends and family. Photography talent aside, Katherine is very professional, thorough with all of her communications, and so passionate with shines through her work. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

truly has a talent and we really loved working with her for our engagement session!

pond to any & every question I had with tons of helpful information. I had no doubt that not only would Katherine take amazing photos but I wouldn't have to worry about any detail not being captured or something feeling unorganized. She totally delivered. We're obsessed with the photos from our wedding weekend - Katherine captured us perfectly & the photos really feel organic and like "us". Not to mention there are so many photos, we keep looking back and finding new favorites or little memories captured that we forgot happened! Neither me or my husband love having our photos taken and Katherine made the entire process fun, easy, and very efficient (which was especially key given how hot it was on our wedding day). Our family and friends continue to rave about Katherine as well. She is so talented and professional but also personable. It was so fun working with Katherine - I will recommend her to any couple looking for a wedding photographer!!

ant you can count on and is there to help you through anything. We were immediately put at ease when we did our engagement shoot with her and couldn’t wait to have her capture our wedding. As a couple that is normally camera shy, we were shocked at how natural and organic we looked. All of that is credited to Katherine’s methods! Coming into this process, we knew that we wanted photos that captured the feeling of the day and she overdelivered. We were so overwhelmed (in the best way!) receiving sneak peeks and our full gallery by the sheer amount of incredible photos that took us back to those special moments. Our family and friends share in our enthusiasm and have not stopped singing her praises after both being with her at the wedding and seeing the photos. We had some nuances and family dynamics to navigate and she handled everything with the utmost professionalism and understanding. We are so grateful to Katherine for her thoughtfulness, dedication and, care throughout this entire process. Her photos will be treasured by us and our families for years to come.

nor made working with her an absolute joy. As a wedding partner, Katherine exceeded all expectations. Going above and beyond, she took care of every detail, not just limited to photography. Her dedication and personalized approach made us feel like we were her sole focus, despite knowing she had other clients. The 1000+ photos we received were pure magic. Each image captured emotions in the most artistic and creative way, precisely aligning with our vision. Our family and friends were blown away by the incredible results. Katherine and her team's professionalism and passion shone through every step of the journey. We can't sing their praises enough for making our day truly unforgettable. If you're seeking an extraordinary photographer, look no further than Katherine - she's an absolute star!

hotos for the first time wholly surprised that someone was there taking a picture of that special moment. That's Katherine's style. She is the most intentional, present, fly-on-the-wall, gifted photographer you can possibly book for your wedding. I, like you, read all of the glowing reviews of Katherine after landing on one of her galleries - knowing that her style was exactly what I wanted for my non-wedding, wedding. They're all true. After we filled out our questionnaire and had a phone call with her, it was her curiosity about the little (and I'd argue most fun) details about our relationship that confirmed she is so much more than objectively the best wedding photographer on TheKnot. In the planning process, she becomes your best friend, your honest friend, your stylist, your coordinator, and your hype-woman (to name a few). She continuously checks in with you and offers help and support beyond her responsibilities. I was a bad bride distracted by other things in life, and poorly executed the small details on my wedding day. But if you look at my pictures, you would think otherwise. Our photos are gorgeous, dynamic, and fun. On top of that, she made us FEEL gorgeous, dynamic, and fun. She's also chic-as-hell and an absolute blast. Katherine is magic! You will not regret booking with her!

than helpful. Throughout the process she often went beyond her duties as a photographer almost functioning as another wedding planner. On our wedding day she was not just our photographer but felt as though she was a guest and friend that we had known for years. She captured every happy moment and a year later I still go through the extensive photo album. I was over the moon with how perfect our photos were, a mix of candids and portraits. The attention to detail and ability to capture you at your best. I would hire her again in a heartbeat!

as not a single moment since our first email exchange where we questioned our decision to go with Katherine. Since the moment we first spoke, Katherine was personable, kind and relatable-- we felt we could trust her with our vision and we felt confident collaborating with her to expand it. Our engagement photo shoot was a blast-- she found spots in NYC that we didn't even know existed and even though we thought being photographed would be awkward-- it turned out to be such a fun time because of Katherine's direction. Katherine knows so much about the wedding industry in and of itself, but she also is attune to the nuances of the wedding day-- checking in on how the bride was feeling, keeping herself composed and professional while creating a comfortable space for our friends and family to enjoy being photographed. Not even 12 hours after our wedding, Katherine sent us our AMAZING sneak peeks!! She captured our most special moments in such beautiful fashion. We and all of our family and friends were stunned at how beautiful the photos are. We didn't feel like we were even being photographed and it shows in how organic and natural each photo looks. I'm positive there were also difficult and frustrating moments throughout the day, but both Katherine and Siobhan had such positive attitudes which really trickled down unto us as the bride and groom. We are so thankful for Katherine-- beyond being a great photographer, she is an amazing person full of kindness and joy! You will never regret collaborating with Katherine for your wedding!

you want to look back at your photos and feel the real emotion of the day--every smile, tender moment, laughter and joy--Katherine is the photographer for you. I don't know how she managed to be in so many places at once, capturing every person and corner of the wedding by herself. Beyond being insanely talented, she also brought so much professionalism and grace to our wedding helping provide timing recommendations, easing our nerves, and overall just being a STAR. Look no further.

raphers I shared with her, until I came across Katherine's work online, and we both agreed that her photos were super impressive. She blew us away both on the day of the wedding and with our actual wedding photos. On the day of the wedding, she was incredibly efficient, organized, kept us completely on track (and even ahead of time), and somehow seemed to capture every single important moment and emotion of the day. The photos she's delivered to us are SO good - we had a super tricky ceremony that took place around sunset, so it was half in the light and half in the dark, and she handled all of the complicated lighting like a real expert. I can't recommend her enough!

o session flew out the window. Katherine is an absolute delight and made the experience so fun! She perfectly captured our personalities and relationship in a way that I could only imagine. Katherine went above and beyond, from assisting in location suggestions, to wardrobe ideas, and helping us get the best photos with our senior dog. I absolutely reccomend this incredible talent.

I, and really has an eye for every single shot! Not to mention she got our previews back THE NEXT DAY! She is an ultimate rockstar and so beyond all expectations we had for a wedding photographer. Hire her for your wedding!!!

e did not disappoint! Her work is incredible, she captures every detail and looking back at photos it brings you back to that exact moment. Katherine and her assistant Shibon made the photo process seamless for us, our bridal party and our families.. we were able to be comfortable in front of the camera and have fun with it! They were so professional from the very beginning to the very end of the night. I highly recommend !! Thank you Katherine!!!!

ssional from beginning to end. She spent so much time with us over zoom, real-life drinks, and gave us such a thorough, thoughtful questionnaire that was so fun to fill out together.Day of, Katherine takes charge, runs the show, takes the time to make sure she knows exactly what YOU want, and is breathtakingly talented. Nobody captures emotion like Kat and her work speaks for itself. Siobahn, our second shooter was also so amazing and so sweet. You truly spend the most time that day with your photographer, and Kat was such a big factor in how much we enjoyed our day.

wedding so I had started following her on instagram long before my husband and I got engaged. We were planning our wedding back west, and so we started looking at photographers back there but I just couldn't find anyone who measured up to Katherine. Listen--if you want "trendy" photos for instagram with lots of filters, orange skin tones, poses, etc--then Katherine isn't for you. But if you want photos that truly capture your day how it really was, then look no further. I spent years pouring over my parents' and grandparents' wedding albums wanting something that felt that classic and real. And real is exactly what Katherine does. She has this amazing ability to be everywhere and no where all at once. I have been in a lot of weddings, seen a lot of wedding albums, and I have never seen a photographer capture candids as well as she does--the photos feel like screenshots from a movie where we look happy and fabulous all of the time! She truly has a photojournalistic approach. She caught every teary hug, hand squeeze, and glance from across the room. And her ability to make every type of light work to her advantage (harsh mid-day, dark dance floor, etc) is truly incredible. And don't worry--she will also get all of those family photos that your parents want and do it in a painless, seamless way! While we were initially hesitant about the cost of hiring a photographer from NYC to shoot a wedding back west, her prices are MORE than fair for what you are getting! She even did a mini shoot with us the night before to get us comfortable in front of the camera and they are some of my favorite photos from the weekend. Also--she made everyone feel so relaxed and comfortable the day of. My bridesmaids were obsessed with her (I mean how could you not be? She shows up in a gucci suit with effortless cool girl energy and is like "let's do this!"), she managed wrangling our very large wedding party with ease and even got my grandma to smile in photos which is a big deal! We woke up the next day to about 15 sneak peak photos from the night before, and had our entire wedding album in 6 weeks! The hardest part is choosing which photos to print! There are just too many that we love. TLDR: Hire this girl, she is smart as a whip, reliable, talented, and a consummate professional!

contract, Katherine made it clear she was there to support us with anything we needed leading up to the big day, whether that was offering suggestions for other vendors, timelines, or wardrobe advice. We did a pre-wedding photo session and are so glad we did. We did it in Central Park and Katherine knew all the great spots to capture photos. She gave us cues to help make sure the photos turned out well, but she never made us feel awkward or overly posed. We highly recommend doing a pre-session because it makes you feel so much more comfortable on your actual wedding day. Also, all the photos turned out great and are fun to have. On our actual wedding day, Katherine was amazing. She plotted a path from where we were getting ready to the wedding site to ensure we got a good range of photos. We've only seen our preview (delivered less than 12 hours after our wedding!), but they are all amazing and provide such a great range to help us relive the day. Aside from being a fantastic photographer, Katherine was calm, nice to be around, and helped with anything that was needed to make the day a success. She also captured all of the family photos but did it in a fast and efficient way. We cannot wait to see the rest of our photos! We felt lucky to have Katherine capture our special day and highly recommend her to any couples-to-be.

at I had a bruise on my arm (from our dog getting a little too excited saying hello :)) that showed on the photos, and Katherine immediately agreed to touch up the photos, and did so very quickly. We have an amazing combination of candid photos and portraits that capture everything about the day. We can't recommend her enough! She and her team are truly the best, and they were the best decision I made for my wedding!

ss. Katherine's photos and curation she delivered brought us right back to our wedding. Really may have broken some records for transition from tears to laughs while looking through the beautifully designed gallery. There are so many details captured from the day that we will know get to cherish through your photos forever, and so many moments throughout the day where my husband and I were not able to be present that are now captured and can be cherished forever. Katherine and her team truly captured every moment with our guests, the groomsmen, and our family throughout all of the events happening simultaneously at our wedding. Our wedding took place on a massive 100+ acre property in the Catskills, and Katherine and her team made sure all things happening simultaneously on the property were captured. We've looked at the full gallery than I can count. We are trying to relive every moment and emotion, and the photos she captured truly evoke the full spectrum of our wedding weekend emotions. Also, have to share that the lighting Katherine captured was incredible. All of our friends commented on it multiple times during the weekend. We felt like rockstars during the weekend, and Katherine made us look like them despite being totally goofy humans who don’t know how to smile for photographs! Katherine made us feel comfortable and collected in front of the camera. She also helped us get some killer shots that we otherwise may have not gotten if she didn't grab us from the dancefloor. Katherine was super accommodating, as we had to reschedule our wedding twice due to COVID. She helped ease the stress of these reschedulings, and made us feel calm that no matter what our wedding day would look like, it would still be an incredible experience that we would cherish forever. Can't say enough good things about Katherine! Book her today!

ommunicative, professional, and just an all around COOL human being. She helped us align our vision of what we wanted and her photos did exactly what we hoped for- they made us laugh, they made us cry, and we could feel the love oozing out of each and every single photo. Our photographs of the elopement underscore what a wonderful experience we had...positive, once-in-a-lifetime memories that she facilitated. Worth every single penny. Book her. You won't regret it.

feel amazing, beginning to end – she exudes Cool, Calm, and Collected! You’ll see in her portfolio she has captured weddings of all sizes, but it’s obvious she brings the same energy, attention, and love to all. I could go on for hours about her skill, artistry, style, and creative eye, but I’ll just say this: she has IT. She captured the essence of our day and beautiful photos of us that 100% feel like us. They will be loved and treasured for years to come. It was an absolute joy to have Katherine as our photographer and I cannot recommend her enough!

us feel comfortable right away and I really loved her approach to photographing weddings, capturing the special non-staged moments. We are absolutely thrilled with how the photos turned out! It's unbelievable the emotion she was able to capture, from walking down the aisle to our first dance. These photos are everything. Katherine was also so easy to work with and was great at making sure we got everything we wanted!

and highly professional person, and a deeply talented artist. Every step of the way, Katherine was extremely communicative, helpful, and exceeded our expectations. Her pictures are beautiful, not forced, and editorial quality. I am so happy to have met Katherine. She is a calming presence leading up to the wedding, and throughout the day. It really makes a difference to have someone who you really like and respect as your wedding photographer. Highest recommendation.

mind us how the day felt. And oh boy, did Katherine excel at helping us relive our day! One of my favorite things about her work is that our photos include the typical family portraits, perfectly executed documentary shots to catch all those candids, and artistic shots where she flexed her creative muscle. Taken together, each of our photos is a gem in its own right and going through our library of photos felt like digging into an onion - so many layers and new gems to find. At the end of the day, you pick a photographer for their style and Katherine hit it out of the park in that department. She brought so much more to our planning and wedding than just that - whether the thoughtful gifts her team sent, vendor recommendations whenever I needed them, or a stylistic eye when I was making a decor decision, Katherine felt like she was always there. I know how busy she is but I always felt like I was her #1 priority (even a year out from my wedding when most vendors ignore you). On my wedding day, I felt like I had a friend with me not a stranger. Katherine is a star and I’d enthusiastically recommend her!

ate of our wedding and just booked them on the spot for a TBD date...AND IT WAS THE BEST DECISION EVER. I have to tell everyone reading this that I have been to and been in so many weddings and all of the photos are the same...same poses, same everything. Wilde Scout, however, are SO SO SO SO SO SPECIAL. I can not get over how insanely talented that they are. I will never understand how Katherine has the eye for this stuff and how she is so immensely talented and creative. The photos are jaw dropping. Truly...I did not know that I could look like this. She managed to make two really awkward people feel like we've been modeling for years. Katherine made us comfortable throughout the day, you made us smile and laugh and everything in between. SHE IS A BOSS BABE AND WE LOVE HER SO MUCH THANK YOU TIMES A BILLION.

w he was ~*the one*~. He shot our engagement photos and we could not get over how amazing they were and how comfortable he made us feel (he is also cool AF and we loved hanging with him all afternoon). On the day of the wedding, Eryc came early, positive and calm and started shooting right away. He did am amazing job wrangling our giant family portraits (bless you)  and we loved literally every single shot from our couples portraits. When we got of photos back from Katherine we could not believe what he was able to capture without us even realizing and they instantly brought us back to the day. We are so happy we stumbled upon Katherine and her team. Deciding to make Wilde Scout apart of our wedding day was the best decision we made that day...besides yanno getting married (!)

m, I was blown away by not just the quality of every photo, but the level of authenticity that was felt in each frame. She captured every laugh, every kiss, every embrace, every small moment with such an elegance and beauty, it was like they fell from the pages of a magazine. Every single photo was so unique and felt so meaningful, you could tell there was such intentionality behind each one when they were taken, and I cannot thank Katherine enough for capturing such important moments that I can hold on to like this forever. Not to mention, she is an absolute joy to be around and her personality makes you feel incredibly comfortable and at ease! The day goes by in a blink of an eye, these photos have allowed me to relive the happiest day of my life every time I look at them, and that to me is absolutely priceless. So bottom line, worth every penny! THANK YOU AGAIN KATHERINE & TEAM!

utiful on my wedding day, my husband look extra-dapper AF, my dog look like an IG model — and captured every moment perfectly (and even made me look hot while being sweaty on a dance floor). They are seriously the only photographers you should consider. I see these photos and can transport from my boring work day to the best day of my life in an instant. I am so grateful to their professionalism, talent, and willingness to sit through a limo ride where we all sang SHALLOW for some reason.

moment! They are fun and authentic and truly make you feel comfortable with the entire process. During the engagement shoot, I just told myself I needed to love one picture since I am not usually a fan of myself in pictures. When I received the pictures, I was crying happy tears because I loved pretty much every single one! Katherine and her team just understand how to capture people for who they are as a couple and from the best angles so they look great too! My wedding day was stressful and crazy since it was a farm wedding, outside in the rain. Katherine made me feel so relaxed, even when I thought I might start to lose it. I received the photos promptly and they are always super responsive! I am so thankful for my decision to work with Katherine and her team!!

onversation up to the day of the wedding, Katherine was a pleasure to work with. It was important for us to have vendors that represented what we thought was important. It was important that we hire multi cultural vendors, someone that photographed people of color, and importantly worked with same sex couples. There’s nothing like hiring someone that is only working with you for the money. We knew very early on that Katherine was our photographer. Katherine is caring, understanding and works hard to accommodate her clients. She went above and beyond to get our engagement photos done. We had to reschedule like 2-3xs due to the snow but she was able to help us and traveled to our home to make it happen. Katherine is honest. When we went over pricing she did not try to upsell us a larger package. Then towards the end when we thought we couldn’t afford the second photographer, she said no big deal, I can handle it. We did use that second photographer BUT it was great knowing that someone is willing to do the same work without making extra money. That really says a lot. I can’t say enough about Katherine and her team. If you’re looking for a photographer who’s cool, down to earth and more like your cousin, hire Katherine. You will NOT regret it. Not for nothing but we fired our photographer to hire Katherine. That is how much we wanted her on our team.

of my favorite photographers. Our relationship initially began as vendors. I do hair and makeup and a few of my brides had booked them for their wedding. I saw the photos and was very impressed. We continued working together for a little over a year. Then it was time for me to book a photographer and with no hesitation I emailed them to make sure they were available before sending out save the dates. We had a small wedding, but photos were high on my priority list. My husband and I and everyone else who have seen our photos could not be happier with them. Katherine really captured the moment, the mood, the experience and she did so effortlessly. She is ultimate cool and chill and helpful. I could go on and on, but I won't. I promise you will not regret booking them and will be extremely happy with your photos and the experience.

otten and the toasts are distant memories, you will feel more than blessed to own photographs as dynamic, personal and expressive as Katherine's... Hiring Katherine was not only the best decision we made, but it was the best gift we could give ourselves. Katherine is a true professional and an artist. But what makes her work so remarkable is not just her expertise, but it's her dedication and passion. When we first met it was clear from the getgo that she loves what she does and that wedding photography is not just a business for her, but a passion, She works hard to create a product that not only lives up to her standards, but that honestly and intrinsically tells the story of her subjects. She takes the time and goes the distance to learn about you, to listen to your narrative, and to witness your love so that she can bet capture you in all your honesty, spirit and individualism. And, because this is also so essential to the process!, I can say in all honesty that Katherine is one of the most spirited, generous and beautiful people I have known. You would be fortunate to have her by your side and on your team. I could not recommend Katherine and the Wilde Scout crew more highly!! They were a godsend, and we could not be more thankful. Her photographs have become some of my most prized possessions and most cherished memories.
