We knew from the beginning, when we met Katy and her husband over beer at a local brewery, that they were the perfect photographers for us!  We felt so comfortable with these two and were so excited to see what they could do. They travelled up to Mt Baker for some excited engagement photos, where we felt so comfortable and at ease with how Katy put us in front of the camera and captured moments that didn’t look or feel awkward. Throughout the whole wedding planning process, Katy kept in touch with me, helping to create the perfect timeline and providing her own valuable input.  Katy is so organized and prepared, she asks some great questions to learn about us, and then captured our essence in every photo. The day-of our wedding, Katy and Charles were everywhere, capturing everything while blending in with the surroundings.  We received multiple comments from our guests regarding their unobtrusive presence.  Our guests kept commenting that every time they thought "we should take a photo of this", Katy or Charles was already there with the camera! The photos we wanted were taken, and then so many more!  They captured the moments that will live in our memories forever.  We could not have found a better photographer!

Katheryn Moran Photography takes fabulous photos, which is why we hired Katy for our wedding. But we were truly amazed by how professional she was throughout the entire process and by her ability to manage and organize our large group for a variety of poses. She is a very kind but clear communicator and was able connect with all of our friends and family during our wedding. It is extra special when the photographer of your wedding feels like a good friend. I would highly recommend Katy for weddings or other special events!

I cannot say enough great things about Katy of Katheryn Moran Photography! We hired her for our engagement and wedding photos, and have already contacted her for future mini sessions as well. She made my husband and I, and our entire family, feel comfortable and have fun in front of the camera. We received a beautiful printed wedding album, and all of our photos on a handy flash drive, with a great mix of posed and candid shots - and she even delivered everything faster than expected! I highly recommend Katy to anyone :)

We were very excited to work with Katy when we scheduled her. When we spoke we specifically commented on how we liked her shots that were less stylized (blown out, off angles, etc). We had a lovely time working with her and her husband (her second photographer) but when I got my images back I wasn't really satisfied. I am immensely pale and I was wearing a white dress and in almost every picture you couldn't see any of the details on my dress. Also, we had asked for a few standard pictures (close ups of the rings/our hands, ones with specific family, etc) and they did not happen. I didn't want to be the bossy bride but I didn't realize how much direction I would need to give. She had samples of those kinds of shots in her work so I thought they would come standard. In additional, she doesn't edit any of your pictures before sending them to you. That's fine if you want a fast turn around time, but there were a lot that had random things in the background (fire extinguishers, messy tables, etc), that could have been solved with a quick crop. Post production editing would have also solved of the problem with a lot of our photos being blown out. The shots themselves were not bad to begin with, but I had to do a lot of editing myself to get the images I wanted. She was immensely pleasant to work with and very prompt in responding, but I think I would have gone with someone else if I had known what I was getting myself into.
