About this vendor
Our primary goal is to tell your story as completely and as beautifully as possible. From contextual shots, to candids and portraiture. We want our photos to trigger memories for decades. We love the unposed candid moment but we also are suckers for an amazing portrait. Sometimes a little posing, or as we like to call it, ‘directing’ is involved but the result is something close to art. We like to keep it real and go with the flow. We’ll work with you and your planner to create the most stress-free photography timeline for your day. We want to make every bit of your wedding photography experience as fun and effortless as possible.

Katie was the absolute perfect photographer for us. We wanted someone who would take charge, seize the moment, and guide us through our wedding day with a firm, yet sensitive, hand, and Katie did just that. When a little bit of rain threatened to throw the day off track, Katie helped us press on, undaunted, and get some truly amazing photos. She's also just a badass, in general, and fun to be around, which helps when you're spending time together in the pressure cooker environment of wedding day. AND she put up with our obnoxious requests to get lots of pictures of our dog. All in all, Katie was absolutely perfect for us and we would hire her again without hesitation.
From the start, we loved the way Katie’s portfolio reflected not just beautiful images but also rich, human emotion — happy tears, joyful exuberance, profound love. Katie clearly had a knack for being in exactly the right place at the right moment, that made you feel like you were there. Her work had an almost documentary feel, while still capturing all the beauty and refinement of more formal, posed images.
We hit it off with Katie immediately, and she was a joy to work with on our engagement photos — honestly the best we’d ever looked on camera — to the wedding itself. Even as the weather required some late adjustments to our wedding-day plans, she was able to make our back-up spaces look great for group photos and our mist-filled couple images downright magical.
We cannot recommend her highly enough, as an artist and as a person.
Working with Katie was everything we were looking for in a photographer. She fit our vibe so well, and from the moment we spoke with her we knew we had to have her photograph our wedding. The photos are the perfect mix of moody and romantic and everything we described we wanted she captured beautifully. As someone who isn't used to being in photos she coached us through everything and made us feel so comfortable and at peace knowing these were going to come out amazing. She had us laughing the whole time and I would choose her over and over again for our wedding. 10/10 would recommend!!
Plus she even made it out early and on time to our wedding in a Blizzard! True MVP !!
Hire Katie. Just do it. Our experience with her was beyond what we thought was possible. She keeps you cool, calm and having fun during portraits. She takes the lead on getting your shot list completed so you can enjoy your wedding, and her skill set is second to none. Our photos are AMAZING, we are blown away and forever grateful that Katie captured the best day of our lives.
Katie has a one of a kind eye for capturing the most precious family moments during special days. We hired her for our engagement and wedding shoots where we got the chance to walk around and take some badass shots in some unique places. The thing with Katie is that you're not only hiring her for her unique perspective on your relationship but for the personality that she chooses to look through that lens with. She is amazing to have conversations with and makes you feel totally relaxed and empowered in her shots. She brings her vibe to the shoot, and for us, it was absolutely perfect.
Katie's not only an incredible photographer, she was a super calming presence during the wedding. She wrangled our families kindly but firmly, helping us stay on schedule. She's a talented photographer in all aspects of the job, but I think where she really shines are the candid shots--she caught some amazing, frame-worthy shots of our friends and family just having a great time--photos I know they'll keep for years. Hire Katie!
10/10. Katie was an absolute dream for me and my wife. The photos are incredibly tasteful—she does a great job capturing the moments and emotion. We had a large wedding party which Katie navigated with ease. She made us feel relaxed while she took charge of every situation, knowing exactly when to give direction to get the right shot (of which she captured them all). She's really helpful, especially as we tend to shy away from the spotlight.
Couldn't imagine working with someone else. She may have single handedly repaired 30 years of family drama—and the photos are beyond our wildest. Flipping through our album, is like watching a home movie in all its beauty (and hilarity).
Wedding was 150 people on Long Island (8 hours), Katie worked alone.
Our Engagement shoot was a few months earlier in Brooklyn, for 4 hours. She was great around explaining process and costs, and was flexible on scheduling.
Where do I even begin?! The stars totally aligned on this one. From the very first interaction, Katie was responsive and just awesome to chat with. She's so down to earth and gives you this complete feeling of calm about the whole ordeal. She's no-nonsense and has her shit together - which completely shines through on the big day. She arrived early, and kept everything on schedule. Throughout the reception, she had such positive vibes and was just bopping around the whole tent. I remember looking over at the dance floor at one point and she was in the middle jumping around with everyone capturing some incredible candid, fun shots. In a nutshell, she is AWESOME in every way possible. Stop looking at other photographers and book her now, because you will without a doubt be happy with that decision. Katie - thank you for being one of our very favorite parts of the wedding. We are so excited to see what you captured!
Everyone reminds you how once the ceremony wraps and the dance floor closes - that your photos are all that remain. When we booked our venue - we came across a wedding Katie had shot there and knew we had to book her. Katie's ability to capture the emotions of the day are one-of-a-kind. We didn't want a lot of posed photos - we wanted to capture the laughs, hugs and funny expressions of the day and she did just that. Her ability to be everywhere while also remaining unseen is a skill I have never witnessed and I'm still in awe. I am obsessed with our entire album of photos. But beyond her photos - she is exactly the type of human I wanted on my wedding day. She is no-nonsense but also downright hysterical. She has an art of getting people to do exactly what she wants while also being RELAXED in front of the camera. She was one of my allies on my wedding day and I trusted her 100%.
Katie is super cool and awesome. We just clicked on the phone and I knew she would be the perfect photographer for our low key day. She was so helpful and great to work with and on top of that an amazing photographer!! Thanks so much, Katie!!
Katie rules! We wanted wedding photos that were beautiful without being fussy or precious and that reflected who we (and our families and guests) actually are—she totally delivered. She's also hilarious and a pleasure to hang out with! Can't recommend Katie highly enough.
We found Katie online, as she had photographed our wedding site before. Based in Brooklyn, she was great organizing our needs even though we live in California. We got to know here during a trip to New York and found her extremely professional. She was amazing on wedding day, helping to navigate a fairly complicated family (lots of halfs, steps). But the best thing about Katie is her photography. My bride and I were absolutely blown away by the photos. She is a master at wedding photography and does amazing candids. Can't recommend Katie highly enough. She's amazing.
I was planning a wedding in two months and didn't have much time to mull over wedding photographers. When I came across Katie's website and photographs I knew she would be perfect! Her natural, candid style and approach to her work is so appealing. Her work is soft, delicate and captures emotions and details so effortlessly. She spent time with me before the wedding learning family members and wedding party names so things would run smoothly/efficiently on the day of the wedding. We also discussed what kind of photos I was looking for and how much time would be spent which was extremely helpful given the day of the wedding went by so fast. I also really liked how she came by herself instead of with an army of support photographers which can sometimes feel like they are in the way. She was discreet capturing such beautiful shots of every segment of our special day. Katie was a true delight to work with, and I can't recommend her enough!
Katie was my favorite person to work with! My husband and I had a group FaceTime call prior to booking her and I knew she was 100% the photographer for us. Her work speaks for itself so I don't need to go into detail about how beautiful our images came out... But it's her personality and demeanor that really sold me. We felt so comfortable with her the entire time leading up to the wedding, went over the locations and style we were looking for so when it came to the day of the wedding, I felt like we had known each other for years. She really made us feel like rockstars and captured our wedding exactly how we wanted. She's truly the best and I've already recommend her to many of friends who are getting married this year!
I cannot say enough about Katie! From our very first meeting, we knew Katie was someone who "got us" and had the perfect vision for what we wanted from a wedding photographer. She is incredible responsive on email and made us feel 100% confident in her understanding of what we wanted (her questionnaire is incredibly helpful, as well). On the day of our wedding, she blended right in - she and her second shooter were both the perfect balance of fun (joking with the bridal party and making everyone feel at ease) and invisible (I am honestly shocked that there are any photos of our ceremony because they were so stealthy!). The gallery she put together with our final images was spectacular and she was able to catch literally all of the little details and moments that made our night so special. I could not recommend Katie enough and she is at the top of our list to suggest to friends (or even strangers!) looking for a great wedding photographer!
Beyond the warm fuzzies, and perhaps your tax return, there isn't much physical evidence that your wedding actually happened. We didn't go with a videographer so we needed someone who could really capture a brief period of time in a lasting light. And we could not be more pleased that we trusted Katie with this task. We have only seen a small sampling of the pictures, be we already know that we have found that "one shot" that we wanted of us. I can only imagine what the rest will turn out like.
Katie Does. Not. Mess. Around. She will give it to you straight. She will ensure that everyone is having a good time but will give clear direction when someone is compromising the quality of the product. She prioritizes the needs and desires of the couple first and foremost and she does it with style, grace and a sense of humor.
Katie is efficient yet creative; creative yet technical; technical yet kind.
When hiring each vendor it all boils down to "can I trust this person?" Whether it be to produce something you love or just showing up on time and Katie ticked all the boxes for us.
We just received our final photographs from Katie and are blown away by her work. She captured our wedding day perfectly, with a beautiful compositional eye AND sense of humor. She shot those sweet candid moments of our friends and families coming together, and recorded the details that I was too anxious to notice on our big day. Katie was so professional, honest, and thorough--in our preliminary meeting, she gave me many suggestions on how we could stretch our limited time and photo budget to get the best shots possible. I really appreciated the way that she directed my (somewhat dysfunctional and remarried) family, so I didn't have to! Her warm spirit and willingness to improvise--especially when our ceremony was hit by a flash flood--were so necessary and welcome.
After seeing the animated gifs on her website, and the glimpse they gave to the light-hearted side of the events she shot, I knew she'd be a great fit for our wedding, so we were thrilled when she agreed to work with us. The day of our wedding flew by, and not without a few hiccups, but she rolled with it, and we have an incredible collection of photos of our friends and family celebrating with us.
Personable, professional, and extremely talented, we feel lucky we got to work with her for our wedding!
Katie was terrific. I have been a bridesmaid in 7 weddings, and over the course of this time I learned what I do and do not like from a wedding photographer. We did not want someone that was going to take a million years with family/bridal party portraits. The posed things, while a few come out okay, no one ever looks as joyous as the occasion calls for. Plus my now husband is terrible at smiling for photos, so I kind of figured a lot of those were going to be a bust anyhow. Still, she managed to salvage a lot of those with an absolutely mastery of lighting and shadow and what our venue naturally provided. What Katie is AMAZING at, is being a Ninja with a camera. After portraits were done, she and her second flitted around everywhere, catching hugs and hearty laughs of people in conversation. Tender moments where you forget that you are the bride and groom and you're just talking to your best friend. I haven't gotten the official photos yet, 3 more weeks, but she showed me a few throughout the night and they were perfect at catching the real spirit of the event. I don't even remember SEEING her when those moments happened. Seriously...Ninja! She also provides her own 'photobooth'(a station by a blank wall with a background she can provide, lit professionally so people look their best), manned by her second in command. Those photos were up online hi-res two days after and available to anyone with the event code. They looked fantastic and were as hilarious as I hoped.
I can't say enough good things about Katie Osgood. I don't know if you have checked out her website yet, but if you haven't give it a look right now. For those of you who have seen it, you know what I mean when I say that she has a great eye. She takes the most spectacular photographs! She has an amazing knack for capturing just the perfect moment, that I often choke up looking at her photos (mine or other's!). When she says that she makes fine art books - not photo albums - she's 100% right. Her portraits aren't photos... they're art! One of the reasons I'm happy that I choose her to capture my wedding is that I was afraid that my minimalist approach to decorating and the rainy weather would lead to unattractive photos, but Katie can make anything beautiful and unique.
She also offers her services at a highly competitive and very fair rate. So many other photographers have hidden fees (like, you don't own your photographs after their $6,000 shooting fee.), but Katie makes the process easy and affordable. And you get all your photos without watermarks at the end, which was really important to me.
Finally, Katie is easy and fun to work with. It can be an awkward thing - someone following you around with a camera on the biggest day of your life. But Katie is the perfect mix of easy going and get-it-done that helps counter the stress you might feel during the day. She was also, by leaps and bounds, the most helpful person when trying to figure out the finer details of my day. She helped me figure out the day-of-schedule, and her advice was right on point.
I'm looking forward to having her shoot family photos in the future.
Katie is super cool and fun to work with. When we first met with her over a year and a half ago I knew right away that I wanted her to be our photographer. She has a great sense of humor, which is key, because you are going to be spending a lot of time with her at the wedding.
We LOVED the photos she took during our engagement shoot (included in her standard package) and I can not wait to see the pictures from the wedding because I know they are going to be amazing!
We loved Katie!! She was so easy to work with, and our photos were amazing!
Working with Katie was such a pleasure. I knew I wanted amazing pictures, obviously, but I didn't want to spend hours in forced poses and have it feel more like a photo shoot than a wedding. Katie met with us a week before the wedding to review what kind of shots we wanted. Our wedding was a weekend event- Katie was there capturing moments the whole time. She has a very natural style, nothing ever felt forced or too posed. She knew when to be right by your side and when to be just far enough away to let a moment evolve naturally. I trusted Katie as a professional and didn't ever feel stressed or worried about photos. Plus, she was a lot of fun to be around for the weekend! I highly recommend Katie Osgood Photography!
