About this vendor
I am a wedding photographer based in Madison, Wisconsin and available for weddings all over the midwest and beyond. My style is very candid and photojournalistic with a hint of fine art and editorial (I've always loved fashion photography). When you get your wedding photos back, I want you to remember how your day felt, not just how it looked.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Katie as both our engagement and wedding photographer! Neither my now-husband or I have much experience being photographed so we were...
apprehensive about how the process would go, how the photos would turn out, and how we would look in them. However, from the very beginning, Katie was so easy to talk to, made us feel super comfortable, and the photos came out amazing! Her communication was clear, prompt, and reassuring, which helped make the wedding planning stress-free. She was incredibly flexible and accommodating, working seamlessly with our timeline, making suggestions for timing of photos within our event schedule, and capturing every special moment without ever feeling intrusive.
Her expertise truly shined through in both her professionalism and attention to detail. She found the perfect lighting, the most amazing angles and styling, and made everyone (us + family + bridal/grooms parties + kids) feel comfortable in front of the camera. The final photos were beyond beautiful, we still have not been able to pick out our favorites to frame as they are all so wonderful— they perfectly captured the love and magic of our day.
We cannot recommend her highly enough to anyone looking for an engagement or wedding photographer!

and me feel completely comfortable, allowing us to relax and just be ourselves. Her presence was calming, and she seamlessly blended in, capturing every candid moment effortlessly. The photos truly radiate the vibrant, glimmery energy we felt all around us, and each photo is filled with so much warmth, joy, and love from our day. We look at our photos often, reliving the magic; Katie’s ability to preserve not just the moments, but the feeling of it all, is more than we could have ever dreamed. We absolutely love her and recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer who will not only capture the beauty of your day but the heart of it, too ❤️❤️❤️

elebration. Katie is one of the most talented photographers and artists we have ever met, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Her artistry is unmatched, and she has a unique ability to create beauty and capture love, happiness, and authenticity in her photos. This is evident in our collection and throughout her entire portfolio.
From the very beginning, Katie was a pleasure to work with. Her warm, inviting, and kind personality made every interaction enjoyable. She was incredibly responsive, organized, detail-oriented, and friendly, making every moment we spent together fun and exciting. Katie brought so much enthusiasm to our wedding day, capturing all of its special moments in a collection of beautiful photos.
Working with Katie felt like working with a friend we’d known forever, and that was captured via how comfortable we felt in front of her lens. Her authenticity and dedication to capturing beautiful, candid moments are evident in every shot. Our entire wedding album is stunning and something we’ll treasure forever, making it hard to pick just a few favorites because we love them all.
We wholeheartedly recommend Katie to anyone looking for an elite-level photographer to capture any big moment or special occasion. Katie was the absolute best to work with, and we are forever grateful for her making our day so special and capturing moments and memories that will live on in our hearts.

was great on the day of our wedding. She worked well in tandem with our wedding coordinator and I never felt like I had to tell her anything; she was on top of it all! She gives great direction and also captures those candid moments that you love. Her photos are drop-dead gorgeous and she turned around the most stunning little "sneak peek" gallery right away after the wedding. I haven't been able to stop looking at our photos! 20/10!!!

ake you back to the wedding, just hours after the excitement dies down and you wish you could relive every moment. Katie goes above and beyond to learn about her couples. Her approach to coaching during your photos is to give feedback when needed, but more importantly recognize the need for silence and allow the couple to Interact naturally with one another to allow for candid moments that truly capture their essence. In addition to understanding the couple, she also takes time to learn about key family members and wedding party members. She adjusts her approach based on the energy and comfort level of various members of the group. Lastly, when you hire Katie, you are hiring someone who truly cares about your vision, well being, and joy. She brings a positive energy and calming presence to a stressful day. There is absolutely no one else I would trust with our wedding day.
I can't say enough good things about Katie. Insanely talented and fun to work with, she did a wonderful job of making us feel at ease and capturing stunning shots in the process.

different searches and after I received a warm welcome and detailed answers to my questions, I knew she was the one for us. Plus, look at her portfolio! She did some pre-research on the wedding site, arrived early to spot good places inside and outside the property and all while enduring below 0 temps for our outdoor shots. Plus, she is so incredibly pleasant and maximizes your time by taking ambient shots while you're getting ready. 110% recommend Katie Ricard!!

itive for the amazing service she offers. Katie was willing to travel to meet us for our engagement photos. She is very personable and comfortable to be around, which is nice for those who aren't used to being in front of a camera. Katie had a very thorough questionnaire for the day of the wedding - it actually prompted us to think about some stuff we hadn't even thought of at that point. Katie took all of our questions and suggestions in stride. And, of course, her photography is absolutely incredible! We received our photos much sooner than we were expecting, and they just took our breath away. We know we will cherish them for years to come! You can tell that Katie truly cares about making her couples happy, and that she loves her job. Do yourself a favor couples, and book Katie!

d she was able to get all of it! There is not one photo of the 3000 she took that I do not like. Even my photographer friends were very impressed! I was lucky enough to stumble across her website during an internet search, and I highly recommend her. We got our photos faster than most other couples I know and she even included a thoughtful gift in the mail. The craziest part is that my family and guests can't even remember seeing her during the ceremony and reception when she was snapping them. I am so thankful that I found her and I will treasure these photos forever. Great candids, great portraits and great scenery/detail shots. Great website too :)

and made us all feel very at ease. It's hard to wrangle friends and family throughout the wedding day for photos but she is a rockstar. Our package also included an engagement photo session so we got to know each other and discuss what kinds of photos we wanted, etc. I highly recommend her to any bride looking for a stellar wedding photographer!

fast. I highly recommend her for any event!
Here are some of the things that impressed us most:
- Her prices are so reasonable. If you're looking for an affordable photographer in the Madison area, Katie is your girl! We looked at over 10 local photographers and Katie was priced significantly lower than the majority of them.
- We had so many vendors that needed deposits early on, but we didn't want to spread ourselves too thin financially. So Katie let us pay in 3 smaller chunks instead of 2.
- Katie is super creative and has such great ideas, it really took the pressure off of us from having to come up with ideas on our own. And she captures Kodak moments while they happen, so we got these incredibly candid shots of beautiful moments throughout our day.
- In addition to our online viewing gallery, Katie sent us a flash drive with pictures that definitely went above and beyond. We expected just a standard flash drive, but what we got was two personalized keepsakes - A cute wooden box printed with one of our wedding pictures and an adorable wooden flash drive engraved with our names and wedding date. It was so thoughtful of her to do that!
We chose Katie for our Madison wedding because we liked her photographic style, warm personality, and affordable a la carte pricing. We were thrilled with her service! Katie was so...
enthusiastic about our wedding and all of our ideas. She was flexible and accommodated all of our requests with ease. She managed to subtly catch so many details from our special day without ever seeming intrusive. She really let us guide the process, while adding her own professional, unique style. The final product was delivered quickly and with the most elegant, thoughtful, personal touches. I highly recommend Katie for any event!
