My fiance (now husband) and I could not stop talking through our entire engagement, wedding, and the weeks after the wedding about how booking Katie right away was one of the best decisions we made. Katie is thorough, professional, friendly, fun, and her work is simply the best. Especially if you are getting married at the Basilica at Notre Dame - she has taken photos at so many weddings in the basilica and her experience made such a difference for us. Katie is extremely efficient and detailed, both in the planning and executing of photographing your wedding. She and her husband Chris work well together to make sure all the details are captured. For example, I really appreciated how they plan for Chris to photograph the groom and groomsmen getting ready so I could see things I would have missed while the bridesmaids and I are getting ready. She captures all the details you worked hard to plan and the way she captures the emotion of the day is really amazing. I can’t stop looking at our photo album. Katie is great about ensuring you get all the portraits, group shots, campus locations, etc. that you desire and will help you plan out the timeline of the day to make sure everything flows smoothly. I am sure there were things she was taking care of that I don’t even know about. She works great with all the other Notre Dame wedding vendors as well, especially our videographer. I truly cannot recommend Katie enough!

Katie was absolutely amazing. She made our wedding day perfect! She had every detail under control all day, and even when we had to change a lot of our plans due to the pandemic, she was so flexible and helpful. The photos turned out absolutely beautiful. She captured every special moment and every little detail, even things I never would have thought to photograph like my shoes or the table centerpieces. My husband and I treasure our wedding photos from Katie. They feel natural, not too posed, and they are honest reminders of every happy feeling throughout our wedding day. Katie Whitcomb was the first (and best) vendor that we booked for our wedding 2+ years out. Had we not had Katie there to help us throughout the process, down to the hours before wedding day, we would have never pulled off such a successful day. If you are lucky enough to book Katie, you will receive not only the best photos you could ask for, but step by step direction for timeline planning, photo locations and overall reassurance that she will do anything to make it the best day ever. Katie was there for us every step of the way, especially when a global pandemic came into play, and went out of her way to make it run beautifully and smoothly. Beyond how amazing Katie is as a person, her work is INCREDIBLE! We received a sneak peek the next day, a full blog post by the end of the week and the FULL online album within 3 weeks. I go through all of our photos at least once a week to relive the day because she captured each and every part of it. We are still receiving so many compliments from our friends and family about how beautiful her photos are. Oh and she send you the cutest gifts along the way – how nice! We will never be able to thank Katie for all that she did for us, we are lucky enough to consider her a great friend after the process!

My wedding would not have been the same without Katie. Before the wedding even happened we had 4 phone calls to discuss timelines, music, pictures we wanted, etc. She put together our entire timeline and made sure I didn't forget a thing. I felt like she wasn't just my Photographer, but my Wedding Planner and Maid of Honor. Even more, my parents and brother couldn't attend due to COVID and she was sure to make them included digitally every step of the way. She kept us on time, didn't forget a single request we had, didn't seem frazzled at all/helped me chill out and was honestly the reason our day went so smoothly. HIRE HER! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

Beside saying yes to my husband, hiring Katie and Chris was the single best wedding planning decision I made. My father even thanked her by name first thing in his speech. Not only are our pictures absolutely stunning, every moment perfectly captured, and every detail documented, but Katie brings a presence of peace and joy to the entire wedding process. We had to postpone, then change our venue 9 days before our wedding, and Katie was a true friend and confidant through it all. I don’t have enough words to thank her and Chris for making our day as beautiful and special as we had ever dreamed despite all the challenges. Our guests were wowed even before they saw the pictures. From buttoning a dress in 30 seconds to giving my husband a granola bar in the church because he hadn’t eaten anything to making our bridal party have so much fun taking pictures, Katie and Chris were the cornerstone vendor in our wedding. I could write a book, but suffice it to say—you will be so glad you hired this beautiful couple for more reasons than you could possibly know.

Katie and Chris are fantastic! From start to finish, they were always very professional and thoughtful, and we are so thrilled with how they captured our wedding day. My favorite thing about their work is how they are able to capture the personality of the couples through their photos. They do a great job in getting to know the couple and knowing what the couple wants out of the day; and then they are also so business-like and professional in making that happen. (It often felt like Katie was doubling as wedding coordinator, making sure the schedule was feasible and keeping everyone on track!) I highly recommend Katie Whitcomb for your photography needs! We will be treasuring her photos for the rest of our lives!

I cannot say enough positive things about Katie and Chris. They did a beautiful job shooting our wedding. We got married at Notre Dame, and she knew all of the perfect spots to get memorable photos. They made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and got so many pictures that we will cherish for a lifetime!

When choosing a wedding photographer, I believe it is most important to choose the person whose photos exemplify your style and you feel connected to. You'll be able to see that in the individual's work, so I am going to comment on what I came to realize was equally important to me throughout the process. Knowing that the someone is there to be a sounding board for your choices and questions. Katie was willing to participate in lengthy phone calls about timelines and details and always made us feel like she was part of the team. That is more than you will find in most vendors and something you won't know the (very very high) value of until you work with her. She doubles, whether she intends to or not, as a wedding planner and friend throughout the the process of planning and until the end of your wedding day.

Katie photographed our wedding a month ago. She did such a wonderful job on the pictures. She's really nice and great to work with. She makes you feel comfortable and even though you do pose for pictures she makes it feel pretty natural. She’s really organized and she was super helpful before the wedding too. I got a lot of comments from my bridesmaids, family and some other guests on how nice and great Katie is. Also, everyone loves our wedding photos. She really does everything she can to help your dream wedding and dream photos come true. Hiring her for the photos was definitely one of the best decisions we made. I would hire her again in a heartbeat!

Katie was more than we could’ve asked for in a photographer! She is such a professional and helped us tremendously before, during, and after the wedding. From offering advice on engagement picture outfits, to planning the day of timeline, to fixing my dress at the reception… her focus was not just on capturing “must have” shots at the wedding. It was about making our special day as perfect for us as possible- AND then capturing those perfect moments as we would want to remember them. I honestly can't say enough good things about Katie Whitcomb. She is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and can handle anything. She takes the most stunning photos and knows all the best spots on Notre Dame's campus. Plus she goes above about beyond for her clients. She even sewed the hem of my dress for me when I ripped it walking to the ceremony and gave me a cool towel when I nearly fainted due to heat exhaustion on the football field. Best of all, she shared a few photos with us before my husband left for military training less than a week after our wedding. This way he could see some photos before he left. You will not be disappointed if you hire Katie to be your photographer.

Katie was the first vendor we called after securing our date at the Basilica for our wedding. We loved her work that is beautifully displayed on her blog and could immediately tell she is passionate about her work and takes it very seriously. Katie made the process of deciding how and what we would like photographed, and took the time to get to know us personally to make us feel more comfortable. We took advantage of the engagement photo session which was included and were glad we did because they ended up being the photos we used on our save the dates AND more importantly, they helped us get more comfortable being photographed together so it didn't feel awkard on the wedding day. Most of all, we appreciated that Katie was such an expert on Notre Dame/South Bend weddings. She was familiar with all the other vendors we worked with and helped us create a timeline for the whole day. We did not hire a wedding planner, and it felt like she played that part a little bit. She kept us on schedule and helped qualm any problems that came up on the day- even having a tide pen to clean up my dress when it got dirty! We loved working with Katie and Chris, and would recommend their services to anyone.

Amazing photographer team!! Katie and Chris kept our day fun and organized while getting all of the amazing shots we wanted from our wedding day. Once we secured the Basilica and time for the wedding ceremony for our daughter’s wedding at Notre Dame, the very first person we contracted with was Katie Whitcomb. Katie works with her husband Chris and together they make an exceptional team. Although I had a lot of interaction with Katie in the months leading up to the wedding, I never actually met Katie until the day of the wedding. Katie is a very hard working pro in the true sense of the word (she was there from 9am to midnight the day of the wedding) and although this father of the bride can push the limit at times, Katie always worked with us and the end result was just breathtaking! I have worked with many photographers in my line of work that are prima donnas, but that’s not Katie’s style. Whatever you do as soon as you know your wedding date, make sure you contract with Katie. I promise you that you won’t regret it and it will be one of the best decisions for your wedding you make!

We used Katie for our engagement pics and our wedding. I loved that she was willing to come up to Chicago for the engagement pictures--which also gave us a chance to get to know her better before the wedding! We had great communication with her throughout, and she event surprised us with some gifts along the way! We loved Katie & Chris' shots from the day of...helping to preserve our memories of a whirlwind day!

Katie was an amazing photographer! All of our photos turned out beautifully and she perfectly captured every moment of the day. You can see just how great her photos are on her site. But, more than that, Katie was wonderful--and fun--to work with. She's friendly and responsive, and, since I was an out of town bride, Katie worked around my schedule to set up multiple phone meetings and one on site meeting before the big day. She also recommended our florist to us (who we loved), helped us coordinate with the reception venue, and put us in touch with a new cake vendor when our first choice died unexpectedly shortly before our wedding. Honestly, I couldn't imagine the day without her. If you decide to work with Katie, you're getting a talented photographer and so much more. I would recommend Katie to anyone.

Working with Katie was the best decision we made for our wedding day (besides getting married at ND!) She and Chris were so enjoyable to work with, and we were thrilled with our photos. Our wedding was a year and a half ago, and I still look at them regularly. They are so creative and came up with some extremely unique shots. If I could do it all over again, I would definitely choose Katie and Chris again.

We had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful vendors for our wedding in South Bend, but Katie was our favorite! Not only did she do an exceptional job capturing our day, but she provided us with invaluable recommendations on other vendors, our timeline, and other day of items we wouldn't have thought of. She has the taglines 'joyful' and 'authentic' on her website...she exemplifies these characteristics completely in her personality and her photography. She does a fantastic job creating "candid" moments, so our photographs did not appear staged or overly formal. When we were looking for photographers, my husband and I initially did not consider the benefit of having 2 photographers. It was wonderful having both Katie and Chris to ensure we got photos of both the bridesmaids and groomsmen getting ready as well as have someone to photograph the details at the reception while Katie photographed the bridal party after the ceremony. Katie is a down to earth, truly gifted photographer who is willing to go the extra mile for her brides. You will not be disappointed with her as your photographer!

Katie and her husband could not have provided a better experience on our wedding day and the months leading up to it. Katie takes her time in getting to know the bride and groom, their story, and their personalities. She is flexible with specific photo requests the day or, yet knows when to provide a recommendation about a photo opportunity based on her past experience. I can't say enough about Katie! She is the most enjoyable photographer I have ever worked with. She made everything easy and fun! She is so helpful with the wedding day timeline that the day of is a breeze. And most importantly our pictures we absolutely beautiful!

Katie was more than just a photographer. She helped us stay on our timeline, gave recommendations for our other vendors from her experience, and was there to answer any questions we had regarding our day whether it pertained to photography or not. She is experienced. She was extremely organized and made sure the day went just as my husband and I wanted. She met (skyped in our case) with us multiple times before the big day and was very accessible to get in touch with. She made planning from a distance a very calm and enjoyable experience, knowing our wedding was in good hands. Also the turn around on our pictures was less than a month! She and Chris were great - low key, almost invisible sometimes, but gave great direction when necessary. Kept the portraits quick and efficient, and really captured the feel of our wedding. The photos came out AMAZINGLY!
