Imagine spending the rest of your life looking at out-of-focus, poorly-timed photos of yourself and your loved ones. Your auntie ends up looking like Bat Boy in a surprise candid photo, and who is that fuzzy boozer in the shadowy corner ... mo...m?!
Your wedding photos will be on your walls for years, and you know they'll be on your parents' mantle for the rest of their lives. Choose a good eye and skill, or choose to be confronted with your poor choice in the years to come.
We chose wisely. Katie Woodring has a clever eye and an artist's soul. While she takes direction admirably (meaning she took the kinds of photos that I wanted) she also knows what looks good. I can't emphasize that enough, because her photos made everyone look fabulous.
Katie caught the small, misty smiles as we said our vows. She composed the simple, timeless shots of the couple in their fancy clothes.
She's also flexible; when I decided to climb a tree in the middle of our engagement shoot, she went with it.
And she's whimsical. She captured our gleefully cavorting relatives in all their revelry. Not fuzzy Shame-Shots, more like lovely people having a lovely time (and a bit too much to drink).
Photographed with skill and an artist's appreciation for detail and environment, the portraits and candids all tell the story of that day, that we have since been able to share with those who couldn't be there. The detail and atmosphere shots from the day almost make the day replay.
Katie is fun and she makes the process convenient with different package options. We didn't buy a bunch of extras that we didn't want, and we got the cd of the photos back in no time at all.
We love her work, and we loved working with her.
And I love seeing our photos on these walls.
