to do makeup for women of color unfortunately so I left my trial looking like a pale ghost. Anyway! I found a new hairstylist and asked her for a few recommendations for black makeup artists. Kayla was one of the ones she mentioned so I decided to check her out and do a makeup trial. BOY. After the trial I was sold. My makeup was flawless and when I came home my husband actually noticed my makeup haha. Being a 2020 bride, I had to postpone my wedding twice. She was patient with me and worked with me towards my availability and kept in contact the whole time. She did my makeup another time for a boudoir shoot and it was flawless as well. On the day of the wedding, she was on time and ready to go. She and her assistant Tonia did 7 women in total efficiently, and worked with the hair team to create a timeline (which I know was difficult given that I had a large party). I looked like a princess guys. And let me tell you my makeup stayed on POINT. I had two outfit changes, did a dance for my husband, and was on the dance floor, and my pictures would never show it. I'm so grateful for her as she did a phenomenal job, is professional but also friendly and actually has a conversation with you and shows interest in you. She is just a kind soul. She gives excellent service and she is worth the price. I tried to go cheap the first time and ended up wasting more money. So a.k.a HIRE HER. Also all the women loved their makeup so much that most of them have followed her on instagram now, and some started inquiring about her availability for their own weddings!
