Haven on the Banks is a premier beach wedding destination location in Nags Head, NC servicing the beautiful Outer Banks. Located just a short walk from Nags Head beach, Haven on the Banks features two verstaile and uniquely different event venues from which to choose for your special event.
Keeper’s Galley is Haven on the Banks’ spacious 4,200 square foot event center and can accommodate up to 200 wedding guests in its beautiful indoor space. The fully climate-controlled event center features over 2,350 square feet of flexible gathering space, beautiful vaulted ceilings with exposed light beams and a electric fireplace accented with stone. The one-of-kind chandeliers have become known as the hallmark of Keeper's Galley offering an elegance not found in the Outer Banks. The spiral staircase in the loft makes for a photographer's dream prop!
For engaged couples and their wedding parties, we've devoted special attention to the wedding "get ready" suite located in the second floor loft! You will find a beautifully decorated space for you all to celebrate together while you prepare yourselves for the big day. From mirrors, to elegant lighting, to beautiful styling chairs, as well as an upscale bathroom - you're sure to find this special time together prior to your wedding full of everlasting memories.
Just steps from Keeper's Galley, you'll find our beautifully, landscaped courtyard space with an outdoor bar and pergola that offer additional options for your beautiful day! If you're not a fan of a beach wedding, our courtyard is the perfect spot for your wedding ceremony.
The Barn at Keeper's Galley is our second event space available for rental at Haven on the Banks. The Barn, measuring 2,000 square feet, can accommodate up to 96 seated guests comfortably. At The Barn, you will experience that rustic, more relaxed vibe with barn style tables and chairs. The farmhouse lighting throughout and the centerpiece antler chandelier adds a nice accent of intimacy and warmth. The refinished original wooden floor boasts a reminder of the old days in the Outer Banks with its copper marlin at the entrance installed many years ago. The lawn area behind The Barn is beautifully landscaped and is another perfect location for your ceremony if you're not a beach fan. Just grab and arbor and some benches and you're all set!
Many of our couples choose The Barn for a more laid back, smaller wedding event. But, it is also PERFECT for your rehearsal dinner or farewell brunch. Ask us about our packages for renting both Keeper's Galley AND The Barn together!

s near plenty of lodging and food options, and the management is fantastic. Their list of preferred vendors is spot on, but they are very willing to entertain outside vendors, as well. Acoustics in the building are great - we didn't need mics for our ceremony - but music can become a little loud as a result; we had a big live band, but it was manageable and everyone loved the music. It was a perfect place for our day. Nancy also handled all of our florals, and did an amazing job. Like other reviews, it is truly the best bang for your buck - 9 AM to 11 PM day-of with multiple types of tables, chairs, a variety of arbors, an in-house sound system and lighting, bridal get-ready suite (the groom's get-ready suite is on the smaller side, though), and options for a beach wedding. ey were very accommodating and were super helpful with vendor recommendations as well! They were a great “bang for your buck” venue as we never felt we were not getting what we expected. It was wonderful having so much of what we needed for both the ceremony and the reception coordinated all through one place.

k with during the planning process. The preferred vendor list provided was also helpful. The bridal suite was great for getting ready and the lighting allowed for beautiful getting ready photos. Having a backup rain plan is crucial in OBX. Unfortunately, our dream beach ceremony was not possible due to 40 mph winds on our wedding day. My husband and I were so thankful we chose Keeper's Galley because the indoor ceremony was still beautiful. Our smaller wedding allowed adequate space for cocktail hour in the back of the venue while photos were taken at the arbor in the front. The dance floor was huge and could easily accommodate a larger sized wedding. The uplighting really amplified the party atmosphere. Although we couldn't use the courtyard space as intended, it would be a great space to set up yard games and increase the flow of the venue. The only downside was we felt the price for setting up chairs on the beach was a bit high and so we ended up choosing a different rental service for them. I highly recommend this venue to future brides!

team helped to transform into a memorable, show stopping event! The back lawn was large and private and offered enough space to add a tent to create a wonderful indoor-outdoor flow for the event. WOW…it is truly hard to put into words how grateful we are that we found Haven on the Banks when searching for a place to have our wedding. This place could not have been any more...
perfect for our friends and family and it exceeded expectations. We had our wedding ceremony a quick walk to the beach and then our reception in Keeper’s Galley. On the other nights we had our friends and family over to hang by the pool and in the courtyard and it was the PERFECT space. We do not tend to write too many reviews, however, we feel that every one needs to hear about this amazing space that Tara and Gerry have created.
Not only was this space great, each house incredible for our guests, the event center beautiful, but Tara and Gerry were the icing on the cake. It is not often you plan an event and become genuine friends with the people you are “working” with but you will find that when you work with Tara and Gerry. They are kind, genuine, extremely hospitable, and passionate about what they do. I can not rave about the two of them enough.
We are so grateful to have spent the BEST week of our lives at Haven on the Banks surrounded by our incredible friends and family. Tara and Gerry…thank you for creating this space, we are forever grateful!

and proximity to the beach for our beach wedding was an added bonus. Tara really has thought out everything needed for an event space and made it top notch. The get ready spaces, the spiral staircase, the lights, even the bathrooms, everything was spectacular. We are so happy we had to change our venues, because otherwise we would have missed out on this beautiful space for our wedding! We couldn't have been more happy with how the day turned out all because of Tara and Haven on the Banks! :)

these properties and it shows! We have 100% trusted in their vision from kneeling in construction dust saying “yes to the address” all the way until we were next up to “tack the plaque”! The attention to detail exhibited by Tara and Gerry is astonishing and we wanted for NOTHING during our wedding weekend festivities. Keeper’s Galley was absolutely magical. A short walk down the street to Small Dr. for our stunning beachfront ceremony and on to the gorgeous courtyard for our post-ceremony happy hour. The cottages were pristine and modern and bright. We are still actively swooning over those front porch views! The weekend was blissful, relaxing, and practically stress-free knowing we had our wedding party and immediate family in the houses with us and the rest of our guests within walking distance to the venue. Our guests are still ranting and raving about the weekend and the amenities! We couldn’t have dreamed up a better weekend to celebrate our marriage and that is due mostly to Tara and Gerry who have become family to us. We can’t begin to say thank you enough to those 2 for keeping us (mostly me) grounded throughout planning a wedding in the midst of a pandemic, but we love them and they know we couldn’t have done this without them. ing thank you, for helping us stay grounded as we planned a wedding amidst a pandemic. Tara & Gerry gave us the guidance we needed to create the most wonderful weekend of our lives. Our immediate family stayed in the cottages and all of our other friends stayed close by in walking distance of the venue. We can't describe how relaxing it was to have everyone in one place & be able to spend time with all of our guests over the course of our wedding weekend. The cottages are absolutely beautiful, with everything you could possibly need for your stay. SUPER clean, modern, and perfect. We felt so comfortable & relaxed the entire time. The venue was absolutely stunning and gorgeous down to every detail. We adored the courtyard for our ceremony space & cocktail hour. It was wonderful having all of our guests so close, so we didn't have to coordinate any transportation. Our guests were truly blown away by how beautiful the venue was. I told Tara from the beginning (before Keeper's Galley was even built) that I dreamed of having twinkle lights on my big day. Well, her & Gerry went above & beyond because with all of the various lighting elements inside, we didn't need a single bit of added lighting. We feel SO incredibly lucky to be in the history of Keeper's Galley and can't wait to celebrate a future anniversary or family reunion at Haven on the Banks! at Haven on The Banks! The dream for our beach wedding was to have our bridal party/friends all staying in one location to make a mini vacation out of the special occasion, and Haven on the Banks was honestly everything we had hoped for! The cottages are absolutely gorgeous and stocked with everything you need, and the owners are so sweet. The tiki bar/pool area provided the exact spot that we had envisioned for all our friends and family to hang out together on the nights leading up to our wedding. Most of us traveled down on Wednesday and enjoyed relaxing together at such a beautiful location until our wedding on Saturday. We grilled steaks, drank cool beverages, watched the Nationals win the World Series, drank coffee on the front decks looking out each morning at all my friends at their separate cottages, hung out in the hot tubs, and most importantly spent so much time together because we were all in one location. I would highly recommend these adorable cottages to any group looking for a getaway with a large group.
