Weddings are stressful - fortunately, I've done this before and I've got you. I believe weddings can be sweet and sincere, true to who you are, and beautiful - you can have your cake (or pie or pizza) and eat it, too. And I'll have a slice with you.
I'm here to help you relive your best memories and retell your favorite stories. I'll give you direction when needed, but I know when to let you do your thing. My style is emotional and candid, with a little edge and a good eye for detail. Everyone is nervous in front of the camera, but through quotes from the Office, a collection of my most favorite memes and talk of our favorite carbs, I promise we'll have a good time. Most of my clients say our time together feels easy and relaxed - I'm here to help, and promise to make it fun!

style for us, until we found Kelley. Browsing through her work we knew she was the right style and look fit for us, and after our initial meeting with her we were sold. Kelley is unassuming and sweet and completely down to earth. Our engagement shoot was more like hanging out with a friend who happened to keep snapping photos, and the results captured us (and our pups) perfectly.
When our wedding day rolled around, Kelley was everything I wanted in a photographer. She was present but not at all pushy, calm, fun, and so attuned to the action. She seemed to capture all the incredible little moments, even if they weren't happening in the spotlight. She made sure we got the posed portraits we wanted, but didn't do the old school "tilt your head this way, now scooch in a little more that way" nonsense. She let us arrange ourselves the way we felt comfortable and worked with that - and the portraits came out looking exactly like us, not stiff or forced.
Writing this over two years after our wedding and having lost my dad since then, I cannot overstate how glad I am that Kelley was part of our wedding day. The photos I have of my dad with me, my husband, and our family and friends are priceless to me.
We are now expecting our first child and cannot wait to work with Kelley again for maternity and newborn photos. We desperately hope she never decides to leave Durham, so we can continue to have beautiful family photos for years to come.

day. Her honest, "moody" perspective is such a beautiful contrast to so many of the overly-exposed wedding photos you see these days—and was exactly the aesthetic we were hoping for.
During our engagement shoot (included in our wedding package), Kelley made us feel completely comfortable, traipsing around our stomping grounds of downtown Raleigh. My husband and I particularly loved that Kelley was more interested in capturing us being our real selves rather than having us pose or do anything that felt forced or inauthentic. On our wedding day (we had a very small, intimate wedding ceremony + dinner with close family and friends), I didn't even notice Kelley moving through the crowd and around the room—she's *that* good.
And of course, the photos! I can't express enough how perfect they are—so perfect that I still get chills every time I open our gallery. Kelley captured every single moment so beautifully. Perhaps most importantly, she's got an incredible eye for the small, in-between, subtle moments I didn't think could be documented—but I'm so glad she did.
So—long story short, I would work with Kelley again in a heartbeat. My husband and I are so lucky to have such a beautiful gallery to look back on for the rest of our lives. Kelley was, hands-down, the best decision we made on our special day (besides marrying each other!).

Kelley was comfortable to work with, adjusting her day of schedule to match our changing schedule (the guys were late to get ready after lunch), and captured so many priceless moments that I would have never thought of asking her to photo. We chose not to hire a videographer due to the budget so choosing a GREAT photographer was important to us. We are still happy with that choice and highly recommend Kelley for engagement/wedding photos! Whenever we decide to have children we hope to use Kelley again :)

rue essence of our wedding. Kelley is amazingly talented - she's an incredible artist and I'm over the moon excited! We planned a destination wedding and after I narrowed it down to my top favorite photographers that were in our budget, I chose her based on her work and transparent approach. I love authentic people and instantly felt a connection to her. She arrived early, she was focused the entire time, being creative all the while. I tend to get overwhelmed with a ton of photos and she did such a great job at being fluid and disappearing to the background, yet somehow she was always in the right spot at the right time. I don't even remember seeing her when I was walking down the isle but she got all the dreamiest photos and I was able to just be in the moment. I really appreciate that skill in any photographer capturing a live event, because it's not easy.
