Kelly & Co. Events is a Charlotte-based, full-service wedding planning & design company. Originally "Head Over Heels," we were established in North Carolina in 2006 and have since designed and planned over 150 weddings and social events throughout the Carolinas. We are the same team of planners, but with an exciting new brand!
With over 27 years of combined wedding and event planning experience, our close-knit team of planners is made up of creative and relatable women, well-known in the industry for our professionalism, teamwork, expertise and sense of humor. We believe in an intimate planning process, where we work closely with our couples to bring life to their vision, while always keeping their needs and budget in the forefront. Kelly is passionate about her work and particularly enjoys planning the visual elements of an event. I loved her plans for place settings and small details that turned out beautifully. r over the past year has been flawless. She understood my vision from day one, and her enthusiasm for my wedding showed. It was nice having someone that was probably more excited about our day than I was on my side. I work full-time, I have two kids, and I had these ideas in my head, but I just didn't have the time to make all the things come to fruition. She and I had the same brain from the getgo. We met for coffee a few times, or she came over to my house, to talk details. Once I saw the design proposal, I was wowed in a very real way. Not only did she get what I wanted, she went above and beyond with things inside my head that I wasn't sure how to articulate.
Leading up to the wedding, she knew what vendors to use and moved forward. I didn't care who did what, so long as they were good at what they did and fit the budget. (And that's one thing she was great at - staying within budget.) She ensured my husband and I attended the necessary meetings and supplied the required information, but she took care of everything she could. The day before the wedding and wedding day, she and her team were amazing -- with us getting ready, preparing decor, teeing up the processional, making sure people had drinks, etc.
Kelly and her team are committed to whatever you need and whatever type of involvement you desire. They are all in to your vision. I wouldn't change a single thing about my experience with her or her team, or my wedding weekend. She is magical, and I've found a long-time friend in the process.

That may sound like plenty of time but here in Charlotte the events are booked up often times over a year out. We had already selected our venue when we found Kelly thru prior weddings she had done at our venue. After sending out several feelers to other wedding planners, Kelly was one of the only planners that could fit our budget at our venue, which was awesome! Kelly has a fantastic list of suggested vendors – everyone she suggested was top-notch, and she would typically give several options at different price points. She helped us pick the best vendors that fit in our budget and made suggestions on where to splurge vs. save.
We did not have a clear vision of what we wanted going in and Kelly helped us bring out our vision and more. During our meetings she helped us turn scattered ideas into one cohesive concept and brought the right people in to turn that concept into reality. As nice as these planning meetings were, the day of services were simply the best.
On our wedding day, everything went as smoothly as can be. The flowers and decorations were on point. The food was delicious. We have gotten nothing but compliments on how well everything was executed. Everyone was where they needed to be when they needed to be there. Kelly was working tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure everything went smoothly and it really showed. We as the bride and groom did not have to deal with any drama or stressful decisions the day of and instead were able to sit back and enjoy our wedding. Kelly, along with the top-notch vendors she picked, made for an absolutely incredible wedding day.

e had a venue and photographer, but not much else. We only had a vague idea of what we wanted for colors and design. Kelly was able to take our ideas and flesh them out into a full and GORGEOUS vision. It captured exactly what we wanted so perfectly. She helped us chose vendors that worked perfectly with the vision and budget. Kelly made the entire process SO much easier than it would have been otherwise--arranging vendor meetings, dealing with all the nitty gritty logistics, and thinking through every detail.
The day of the wedding was perfect--my husband and I were able to be in the moment and enjoy the entire event without worrying about a thing. If anything didn't go exactly as planned, I was blissfully unaware (as were our guests). Kelly and her team made sure everything flowed smoothly, from flipping our space after the reception to even making sure we had snacks ready in our hotel room at the end of the evening. We had so many comments about how the ceremony and reception captured our spirit as a couple. Our guests had a blast, and we did too.

We accomplished almost everything over email (which was unbelievably helpful for me) and Kelly was incredibly accommodating with scheduling phone calls when necessary to review details. She asks clear questions and solicits information so well it feels like she is intuitive. Kelly strongly grasped what we were after for our wedding and and was absolutely spot-on down to the smallest detail.
Kelly showed such creativity and attention to detail through the venue selection process and ALL the vendors she recommended were wonderful to work with and delivered service that exceeded our expectations.

own, and trying to plan the rehearsal dinner from afar could have been stressful; however, when we met Kelly, I knew right away that we had nothing to worry about. Kelly listened to our ideas and went into action to design the most beautiful setting for this special evening. She took our vision and made it come to life through her creativity and attention to detail. She is truly an expert in her field, and a pleasure to work with. She offers suggestions and makes sure that she includes the wishes of the bride and groom in her designs. Although we kept the details a secret from our son and his bride per their wishes, Kelly made sure to find out what they liked and didn't like, and made it a priority in all our of decisions. She kept in touch with me on a regular basis, made awesome suggestions and always followed-up with whatever questions I had in a timely manner.
When we saw the venue for the first time, it was everything we had envisioned and more. All of our guests couldn't believe how beautiful the venue was, and they are still talking about what a fabulous evening they had. hat Natasha not only saw the vision we imagined for our wedding but she was very passionate about the design we were looking for and I knew that would make the final design that much better. Natasha is organized, relatable, and will stand up for you in every part of planning process. She led us to great vendors, took every step possible to keep us under or at budget for all of our vendors, and made sure we didn't give up quality. The wedding day was a dream, Natasha and the whole Head Over Heels team made sure everything was perfect and that I did not need to lift a finger or stress out about anything. They were heavily involved with all of the vendors set ups to make sure everything looked just as we had planned and kept everything on time and all of our guests well informed of the activities. r. Oh my gosh, how wrong I was. Kelly was beyond amazing. She did everything possible to make this the most special day of my daughter's life. She literally took care of EVERYTHING. She orchestrated the most efficient, smooth running day...when usually the wedding day is a hectic day, she made everything perfect and full of joy. My daughter and I didn't have to worry about a thing. Her creativity, connections, energizer battery personality and her compassion and care made this a day we will all remember. a bit of a control freak, so I didn't think I needed a planner at first. Well, I can admit when I'm wrong and boy was I wrong. I don't know what I would have done without Kelly. She was worth every penny and then some! You can't put a price on what she did for me. She took so much off my plate, kept me sane, & allowed me to just enjoy being a bride. The weekend of my wedding was the most stress-free & enjoyable time thanks to Kelly & her team. I knew I was in good hands from start to finish and she made my dream wedding into a reality. I was not a bride who dreamed of her wedding day her entire life, so I felt extremely overwhelmed with all the decisions that needed to be made & who to work with. She knew right away which vendors would fit our needs and our budget. Kelly was ALWAYS available to me - phone, text, email, calls. Kelly is great at reading people, and could easily tell if I was starting to feel overwhelmed during vendor meetings with all the decisions that had to be made. She was quick to jump in and provide her professional opinion so I could narrow down the options & make the best decision for our wedding. On the day of our wedding, Kelly & the HOH team worked tirelessly in 95+ degree heat to get everything set-up for the event & ensure the day flowed smoothly. Both Kelly & her team were extremely attentive to us & our guests - checking-in with us as the evening unfolded & never making us feel rushed to move onto the next thing on our timeline (cake-cutting, toasts, etc.). I've heard from several girlfriends & various family members that they felt the night was "FLAWLESS" - that is a testament to Kelly & her HOH team. Honestly, our wedding day was more than we could have ever hoped for! I TRULY believe I was able to absorb so much of the day & just be IN THE MOMENT with our family & friends because I felt incredibly confident that Kelly would handle anything that came up. In trusting Kelly to take on the planning, timing & flow of the day, I was able to experience all of the intense, joyous emotion that marked the occasion. o let someone else plan this most important day of my daughter’s life. Yes my daughter and I did not agree on everything either. What I was amazed is that Kelly found a way to make us both happy and to slowly build our trust as we moved ever closer to the wedding day. She contacted and sent schedules to every one of our vendors and made sure everything was in order prior to our wedding day. She was also very quick to respond (text, email, phone) whenever we had questions or if something unexpected came up during planning. Everything was taken care of the day of and we didn't have to worry about any of it.
So by the day of the wedding, Kelly had earned our full trust and we were all able to enjoy the wedding day and knew that she would handle any issues that may arise. It was so nice to give our full focus was on our special day and absorbing the joy from every moment, confident that Kelly would just handle it. We also enjoyed working with her assistants, Natasha and Ali, and also with Lauren. What a beautiful team they make! Hiring Kelly to be our planner was one of the best decisions I made throughout the entire planning process. If you're looking for a planner or are still debating on whether or not you should spend the extra money, please take my advice and go with Kelly. Your wedding is too precious to trust just anyone and it is flies by so quickly, we are so happy we chose Kelly. No one else could have pulled off this miracle with such grace, joy and love.

rty trolley left us at the church. There were 2 and the guests trolley was instructed to make 2 trips to the venue if necessary, so that the wedding party wasn't waiting to be picked up after pictures. That didn't happen. The 3 HOH team members were inside, and no one stayed to make sure that one of the 2 trolleys didn't leave. Next, my bustle broke. While that is not Maria's fault, if she had the video I sent showing the bustling available, maybe it would have been done correctly and not broken in the first place. But she let her phone die, and could not watch the bustle instruction. It was only one bustle point that broke and it should have been pinned at ONLY that point. Not sure what she or her assistants were thinking after looking at what they did. I was better prepared than Maria, she did not have safety pins as outlined in the contract. Once they located safety pins, they did a horrific job pinning the dress. We requested that a family friend, a wedding planner, pin the dress, but the girls would not back off. They pinned it, with pins extremely visible all the way across my dress AND they hiked it SO high that the seam of the hem was halfway up her calf, AND the lining was showing. In our photography contract excessive editing is approximately 150.00 per hour: removing safety pins and the hem halfway up my legs in hundreds of photos is in fact excessive editing. The timeline was another issue. While Maria was helpful via emails, the timeline was sent MULTIPLE times with incorrect information. It was very carelessly done even for a rough draft. It was also not done in a timely manner. We had vendors emailing and asking for it, and it had not been done. I essentially did the timeline myself, with Maria's help via email. The only thing that Maria truly did that was helpful, was packing up after the wedding. We brought everything to the venue on Friday, she was supposed to meet us there, but never showed up. The HOH team set up at the venue on Saturday, but we could have done that ourselves for the grand that we spent on wedding planning, since the wedding wasn't until 7pm. Overall, we are extremely disappointed with the service provided AND the lack of follow up. In HOH case, their follow up has been finger pointing and excuses, blaming everyone around them for the services they were supposed to provide.

My planner was Maria and she was wonderful! She was available 24/7 for me leading up to the wedding and responded very quickly to emails and requests. I had already done all of the leg work which is why I only needed day of coordination but she made me feel so much better about everything. I was skeptical of handing over my wedding (only because I plan events for a living) but she was organized, detailed, and made me feel like I could trust her completely.
She was confident and collected and took care of all the details. On my wedding day I was able to just be the bride and it was amazing. Thank you Maria (and your team) for making our day truly exceptional. I didn't have to worry about a thing! You guys rock!

Laura and Kelly were there and made sure everything went smoothly and all our guests were superbly attended to. In hindsight, I wouldn't even THINK of having a wedding without someone I trusted running things, and I couldn't have found anyone better than Laura and Head Over Heels to handle our event.
Everything was just beautiful, and I was able to exist in the moment without a worry. The vendor list alone was worth the price, but the peace-of-mind was priceless.
