t was--and it turned out to be Kelly LeBlanc, who was a native New Orleanian. I told myself then that when I got married, Kelly would be doing my makeup. My prediction turned out to be true--it was pure serendipity that Kelly moved back to New Orleans and I chose to have my wedding there. Once my fiance and I settled on New Orleans as the location for our wedding, Kelly was the first vendor I booked. I finally got to visit her this past Friday for my makeup trial. Kelly works within Salon Maia in Metairie, which is about a 15 minute drive from downtown. There's ample street parking available and I was able to slip into a space from the road easily. Kelly set to work on me right away and my face took a little bit over an hour, with eye makeup taking the longest. (I was informed that the shade of foundation she had to use on me was the same one they used on the vampires in the Twilight movies--oh the fun of being nearly translucent!) I wasn't seated in front of a mirror, so I thought I had a pretty good idea of what she was doing, and didn't think it was that far off from my regular "going out" makeup regimen. I was totally wrong. I was finally able to look in the mirror when she was done, and WOW! It was soft, and romantic, and very 1920's without being costumey, and enough for photos but not too much, and basically everything I wanted from wedding makeup. It was also very much ME, and although I knew Kelly was pretty great at giving each bride a look that was uniquely theirs instead of slapping the same face on everybody, it was a pretty great reminder! Even my photographer wanted Kelly's info, because she gets requests for recommendations and really fell in love with her work. I can wholeheartedly recommend Kelly to any bride in New Orleans. Not only is she incredibly talented, she's pretty affordable too. Take a look through her portfolio, and it'll give you an idea of what she can accomplish! I can't wait to work with her again in April for my wedding.

ust breathtaking. The makeup she applied lasted all day and through the evening (except for the part I cried off!) I would definitely recommend Kelly for any of your makeup needs. She is not only a doll, but a true artist! She gets an A+ from the whole wedding party!
