Kelly Leigh Cakes is a wedding cake studio based in Longmont, CO. Owner Kelly McSparin and her team create beautiful cakes and desserts designed exclusively according to each couple’s vision. They cherish the opportunity to bring joy to newlyweds and their guests through elegant and delicious desserts. Kelly has had a lifelong passion for baking, having discovered her love for it while baking with her mother and grandmother as a child. As she grew older, she decided to pursue her craft as a career and studied at Johnson & Wales University’s College of Culinary Arts. Since establishing her business in 2017, Kelly’s cakes have been featured in Rocky Mountain Bride, Couture Colorado, Aisle Society, and other publications. Your experience with Kelly Leigh Cakes begins with a tasting so you can sample some of your favorite flavors. During the tasting, you can discuss your vision for sizing, design, and more. Kelly can create tiered cakes, cupcakes, and sheet cakes depending on your unique needs. She uses buttercream, fondant, flowers, and other embellishments to decorate your cake.

We were initially just going to do a two or three-tiered cake, but after our cake tasting, we couldn't decide on a single flavor, so we decided to add eight dozen cupcakes in 3 different flavors. They were all a huge hit, many of our guests mentioning they couldn't have just one! We were also able to rent cake and cupcake stands from her, which she set up for us the day of the wedding. Our dessert table turned out to be one of our favorite parts of the wedding, absolutely beautiful! It was such a pleasure working with Kelly, we highly recommend!

o all of our questions. We live out of state, so during a visit we set up cake tasting with the 2 vendors Wedgewood works with, Kelly being one of them. Unfortunately, due to COVID, we were unable to participate in a traditional cake tasting; however, Kelly Leigh Cakes allowed us to choose multiple cake, frosting and filling samples to take and try at home. Everything she provided to us was exceptional and it was an easy choice to work with her going forward. Her contract, proposal, and payment options are easy to access from anywhere, and she held very competitive rates. She worked with us personally to get all the details of what we wanted, and on the day of the wedding, we were blown away with how she took our ideas and made it into a reality! The cake was absolutely amazing and moist, and the cupcakes were just as good and added variety for our guests as we chose 3 different cupcake flavors. The cutting cake had several layers that had an ombre effect from light to dark purple with filling. She even placed the same ribbon from my decorations around the cake to tie in the décor. Finally, the hand-made calla lily, butterflies, and scrolling designs made our desserts a one-of-a-kind work of art that our guests raved about. We were so please with the service provided from start to finish and highly recommend Kelly Leigh Cakes for not only you wedding, but desserts for any occasion!

ur 3 tiered cake, each equally as delicious as the other. Our guests gave many compliments on both taste and how gorgeous it was. We also did 2 different flavors of macarons, which Kelly hand painted herself. Talk about stunning! Additionally, we incorporated lemon bars wrapped for our guests as party favors, which were a huge hit and something we felt wouldn't go to waste. I have been passionate about baking & cake decorating ever since I can remember! I started Kelly Leigh Cakes in 2017 & have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of lovely couples for their weddings. I attended Johnson & Wales University College of Pastry Arts in Denver and there I discovered my true love for creating specialty cakes. My work has been featured in publications such as WeddingWire, Rocky Mountain Bride, Couture Colorado & Aisle Society. I'm a Colorado native & the mountains are my happy place. It is a privilege to do what I love and to work with couples on their special day!
