My bridesmaids and I had our makeup done by Leann and team from KZ. Leann made me feel so comfortable from our initial hair and makeup trial- she had great suggestions for pros/cons to consider for different looks and how they would last throughout my day. The actual day went flawlessly- the team was professional and so efficient in doing everyone's hair and makeup. The look lasted so well considering it was a 16 hour day (early morning ceremony followed by an evening one in the LA summer heat). I felt so beautiful - the makeup never felt too heavy and I still felt like myself despite being done up and it photographed great.

I loved working with Kelly Zhang Studio for my recent wedding on 5/13/23! From the moment I contacted them, they were so professional and responded quickly to each question I had. My HMU artist was Emily, and she was great! After my trial, there were a number of things I wanted to change and she was super responsive and accommodating. I could not have been happier with my hair and makeup on my wedding day. Emily and her associate Kelly (not Kelly Zhang) also did my bridal party's hair and makeup--my girls all loved how they looked!! I would absolutely recommend Kelly Zhang Studio for your hair and makeup needs!

I'm particular with my make up and wanted a natural look with a glow and Kelly Zhang Studio fit my needs. I used Kelly Zhang studio for my wedding anniversary. Veronica was my makeup/hair artist for my wedding anniversary on 4/28/23 and she is so sweet and detailed-oriented. She provided a touchup kit on the day of, too. I'm happy with my hair and makeup that night. I was more impressed that both hair and makeup stayed put throughout the night after all the dancing! Thank you Veronica!!!

I can't say enough about Kelly Zhang Studio. First, I live in New Orleans, LA. So planning my wedding was a challenge. My wedding planner recommended her and assured me I would love her. Without doing a trial make-up/ hair session, she was able to style me exactly like I wanted. She did a flawless job with both my make-up and hair. And her and an associate had to travel to Catalina Island for our event. They brought all the necessary tools they would need to style me(the bride) and 2 bridesmaids. We were all so happy with our experience and would highly recommend them!

So happy I went with Kelly Zhang Studio for my bridal & bridal party makeup on our big day. The studio was so great with communication throughout our planning process & everything went seamlessly day of. Jenny did a fantastic job on my bridal makeup! I loved that the makeup wasn't too heavy & was comfortable to wear throughout the day. Bonus that no touchups were needed throughout the day! Our bridal parties makeup turned out beautiful as well & everyone was very happy with their looks.

Kelly Zhang Studios sets the standard for event hair and makeup services. Caroline and Leann were professional, thorough, and transparent in all communications and interactions. Leann and her team were absolutely phenomenal in their execution, both in the the hair and makeup trial and on the day of the wedding. My family, friends, and I could not have felt more comfortable throughout the process and with how receptive Leann and her team were to our feedback. Everyone looked and felt absolutely gorgeous. Our hair and makeup held the entire day and felt absolutely weightless. We would gladly use Kelly Zhang Studios for a future event and recommend them a hundred times over.

When I was looking for a team to take care of me and my girls’ makeup for my wedding day, picking Kelly Zhang’s team was easy. Their technique and makeup style matched my vision of my wedding look. I had the pleasure of speaking with Minh to coordinate before the event and she had great recommendations for a senior artist to do my makeup on the day of the wedding. I am so glad I picked Yuzu because when I met her for my makeup trial, she was able to take all my inspo pictures and create the perfect look for my special day! On the day of, the team got to the location early and were extremely efficient to ensure we were all ready on time! The ladies were so pleasant to work with and my bridal team had nothing but wonderful things to say about their work. I've been in multiple weddings that used Kelly Zhang studio and they did a great job, so naturally I hired them for my own! Working with them was great. I was a 2020 bride who had to postpone, and they were easy to work with and so understanding. I was pretty indecisive and had multiple trials, and my artist Kadet was so patient. She ultimately helped me find the perfect look for my wedding day and I couldn't be happier. On the day of, everyone was on time and made my bridal party look amazing. Would definitely recommend!

My bridesmaids and I loved working with Kelly Zhang Studio. Emily did my hair and makeup as well as my Matron of Honor and Vianne worked on the rest of the bridesmaids. Emily was great to work with from the trial to the day of. I loved my hair and makeup and it held up really well throughout the day. As I and my bridesmaids don't usually wear make-up, we all wanted a natural look and we were all very happy with our results. Emily and Vianne took their time with each of us and we never felt rushed. They even had time after to do touch ups on anyone who needed it. I would very much recommend Kelly Zhang Studio to anyone who is looking for hair and makeup for their wedding.

I was so impressed with the Kelly Zhang team. I first reached out to them on referral from two wedding photographers whom I worked with. Their account coordinator, Cindy, was really delightful to work with and made finding the right makeup artist so easy. She also was extremely organized and responsive through email to coordinate all the details for my big day. I ultimately decided to work with Veronica and was so happy I chose her! I was living in Texas before coming back to California for my wedding so couldn't do a trial. Even without this, Veronica made my vision for my hair and makeup come true. She was even able to make a real flower hairpiece on the fly when mine didn't come in on time. She also managed to make a vintage, heirloom veil from the 80s fit with my look and made it more modern! I was really impressed with her work and would highly recommend both Veronica and the Kelly Zhang team.

I hired Veronica as my hair and makeup artist for my wedding day. Because I live on the East Coast, I wasn't able to get out to LA to do my trial until a few days before the wedding. Nevertheless, Veronica took my vision (loose curls in a half up/half down; glam natural makeup with glowy skin) and made me look and feel so great after my trial (pic of me in the collared shirt). On the wedding day, Veronica and Emily did hair and makeup for me, my six bridesmaids, my mom, and MIL. They did a fantastic job personalizing each woman's preferences and doing touch ups. My mom, who never wears makeup and was concerned about this initially, was so happy with how Veronica made her look. My hair and makeup lasted all day and night, through multiple outfit changes. I couldn't recommend Veronica or the Kelly Zhang team more highly.

Veronica was my makeup and hair (M+H) artist for my engagement photoshoot and elopement day. At the trial meeting, I showed her a few ideas on how I wanted to look on my big day. She asked to see a photo of my wedding dress to ensure that it all coordinated well and gave her honest, professional opinions. Both times that we met, I left feeling and looking like a gorgeous bride. Veronica brought my vision to reality. I can't explain how much I loved the outcome of my M+H on both days. It was an absolute dream. Veronica made the whole experience memorable. She was so easy to talk to and amazingly talented! I really admire her attention to detail and the extra mile she went to make sure I loved the way I looked before finishing. Although we already eloped this year, my husband and I plan to celebrate our marriage with our family and friends next year! I have already booked Veronica for our next big day in 2021 and can't wait to have my M+H done by her again!!!! :D

Valarie from Kelly Zhang did my hair and makeup for my recent micro-wedding, and I couldn't possibly be any happier with her or the studio's services. From the very first time I reached out via email, the staff was helpful and super responsive in helping me select a makeup artist (Valarie) who had the soft, romantic makeup style I was looking for. In addition, the staff we super helpful when I needed to reschedule and change my location for services from my original wedding date and venue to my new, COVID-friendly micro-wedding date and venue. Valarie truly wowed me during my trial, and she delivered big time on the day of with gorgeous hair and makeup that was EXACTLY what I wanted. I have never felt more beautiful in my life. Valarie and her assistant were also warm, friendly, and fun to chat with -- they felt like a part of my bridal party as we were getting ready on the big day. I cannot reccomend Kelly Zhang generally and Valarie specifically more highly!

I am beyond impressed with Kelly and her team. Their professionalism and enthusiasm to provide quality services shown through the moment I inquired about hair and makeup services for my wedding. Not only did I love every aspect of planning and booking, but come day of, I was beyond happy with the final product. All of my bridesmaids and mothers were extremely happy with their hair and makeup as well. Highly recommend!

Not sure if the KZ team needs another 5-star review, but I wanted to leave my comments specifically for Veronica (make-up artist) and Caroline (coordinator). From my first day of inquiry all the way to after the wedding day, Caroline was always such a delight to communicate with. She was always so sweet, and flexible. We had a lot of back-and-forth on assigning me to a hair/makeup artist because my first choice was unavailable for my wedding date. Throughout the whole process of matching me up with somebody, Caroline was patient and offered all types of suggestions based on personal style and wedding aesthetic. She ultimately matched me up with Veronica and I am so grateful that she did! Veronica is exactly my type of girl - honest and straight to the point with no added frills. I used my trial with Veronica the morning before my engagement shoot in east San Diego county. Although I was going for a slightly different hairstyle and because i was so indecisive, Veronica was able to try both hairstyles on me. I loved how everything turned out and most importantly, the make-up and hair stayed intact the entire day! On the wedding day, Veronica and Kadet showed up right on time at 5:30am and got straight to work. Getting ready for something with friends has always been my favorite part of going out or a big event, so the laid back, fun vibe that we had with Veronica and Kadet present was perfect. It even made me feel so at ease when they commented that they were ahead of schedule which rarely happens. A bride definitely wants to be hearing that! My one and only recommendation is that you should test out your skin to see if it receives airbrushing well. That was my mistake because I realized that my skin didn't take it too well and I found myself doing touch-up multiple times throughout the night. Other than that, I loved how my peachy makeup look and textured low-bun hair turned out. SoCal brides are lucky to have an endless choice of amazing HMUA teams, but Kelly Zhang Studios stands out not only because of their professionalism, but also because of the quality work they provide. I thought that their prices were pretty reasonable comparatively to other high-end studios out there and you are definitely getting what you pay for. Other than that, huge thank you to Veronica, Caroline and Kadet for their exceptional service and skills! All my bridesmaids and even my mom (who is very picky about makeup) loved their looks so much!

Jenny was my makeup artist and she was absolutely amazing! She did my makeup for my engagement session, bridal shower and wedding day. I love how attentive she is and she truly is an artist. On my wedding day she nailed my hair and makeup. I felt like a true princess and it was all thanks to a Jenny. Could not have asked for a better beauty team. I am looking forward to booking them again.

I booked my make-up and hair with Kelly Zhang Studio for the day of my wedding. The artists are professional and did an amazing job. They come on time to set-up and pay close attention to all details to ensure your look is flawless. All make-up they used were waterproof and they even gave me a little touch-up kit so I can touch-up my make-up throughout the day. I highly recommend Kelly Zhang Studio for your special day!

Kelly Zhang Studio was so easy to work with! I didn't book them months in advance, but I still was able to select a lead artist who was available on my wedding day. I appreciated being able to see their work on the Pinterest pages so I could select an artist that matched my vision. The scheduling was easy, and the make-up and hair trial was so helpful to get my wedding look finalized!

We hired Valarie for the big day. She did an amazing job! My hair and make up was just perfect. I wasn’t sure what look to go for so during the trial she gave me three different opions and they all looked stunning. The team at Kelly Zhang was super professional and easy to work with. Oh my goodness I do not have enough words for how much I loved Kelly Zhang Studio and my experience for my wedding! I reached out two weeks before my wedding and received an instant reply from Caroline who was AMAZING throughout the whole process. She was kind, patient, descriptive, clear, and made everything from the trial to the day-of so easy! I sent my "inspiration" photos to Caroline for my hair and makeup and she matched me with an artist who fit my style and look the most :) She then sent me the Pinterest of my artist so I could look at her prior works of art! :) It was the best! Thank you, Caroline! I went to my trial and fell in love with the studio! It's clean, so cute, and everyone there was so kind and energetic. My mom came with me and it was one of our favorite mother/daughter wedding experiences. My makeup and hair artist was Valarie. I LOVED her! She instantly felt like a friend. Beyond her awesome personality and warmth, her skills as a makeup and hair artist are indescribable. I felt so beautiful and amazing even on the day of my trial. She listened and was attentive to my wishes and implemented everything I was hoping for beautifully. They took photos of my hair and makeup and followed up with communication to determine if I wanted to change or alter anything for the big day :) I didn't! Valarie captured everything I was hoping for and more! My mom and two sisters were also getting their hair and makeup done on the day of the wedding, so Caroline sent a schedule for the big day and that made it even easier to organize and feel prepared on the day of the wedding :) On the day of the wedding, Valarie just completely blew me away. After she was done with my hair and makeup, I looked in the mirror and cried. She made me feel so beautiful and confident. My husband also cried when he saw me for the first time and said "I am just taken away at how beautiful you are!" and I truly owe so much of that to Valarie and her skills! Valarie even sent me a message the following day that was so heartfelt and I truly believe her and I will be friends in the future! Before she left she gave me a kit with powder, my lip color, hair spray, and more to ensure that I had everything I needed to touch up for the rest of the day! My mom and sisters had another artist, Mieko, who was equally as amazing! They felt transformed and were so happy with their hair and makeup! She did touch ups before she left and again, captured their desired look perfectly! Overall, it was an amazing experience and truly made my wedding process and day so enjoyable, peaceful and exciting! I would 110% recommend anyone to Kelly Zhang Studios!!

I used the studio for my engagement photos and for my wedding. The studio was absolutely amazing from start to finish. They come up with a timeline day of and it was perfect! Hair and makeup were exactly what I wanted. I had Valerie for my hair and makeup. My bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done as well and really loved all of their looks. Would highly recommend using this studio. Everyone who works there is amazing and they get back to you very quickly. 100% would come back again.

Ivy Wang did an exceptional job for our bridal and bridal party makeup! Since I'm a makeup minimalist, I chose Kelly Zhang studios because I wanted a clean, natural look that would still enhance my features. Ivy was extremely professional, consultative, adaptive, and patient in creating my look. And, the staff were highly responsive and friendly in customer service. I would highly recommend KZS and choosing Ivy!

10/10! Would definitely use them again and will be recommending their services to EVERYONE I know. Valarie was amazing on my wedding day and prior to that, Cindy was great at setting everything up and handling all my questions and concerns. They helped make my day just a little bit less chaotic on my big day and my hair/makeup lasted the entire day and well into the night.

Jenn from Kelly Zhang Studio did my hair and makeup and she knocked it out of the park!! First, she is the most wonderful, calm, kind, caring individual. Second, she is extremely talented and created the perfect look(s) for me for my wedding ceremony and reception. She even came back and did a touch up between the ceremony and the reception so I could have my hair up for dancing! She had 2 team members with her that helped with the bridal party and everyone seriously looked the most beautiful that I have ever seen them look. She worked her magic on me and my makeup and hair still looked flawless at midnight (we got ready at like 8am)! She is wonderful and the whole KZ team is wonderful! I highly highly recommend them for your wedding or event!

The entire team is wonderful at Kelly Zhang Studio. From start to finish I knew I was in good hands. Their coordination is easy, the pricing is straight forward, they are incredibly accommodating and so talented. They made the whole process fun and completely stress free. Even the day of when they came to us! I had Jennifer Thai and she was outstanding.

I had Valarie as my main HMU artist and she is wonderful! I loved working with her. She was very responsive to me when I wanted to change things here and there, and was very helpful during our makeup and hair trials. On the wedding day, the entire team was so much fun and upbeat (great thing to have when you start HMU at 6 am!). Everyone looked beautiful, and they gave a really cute little kit for touch ups during the day. Highly recommend them! My HMU looked AMAZING!!!

I had seen Kelly Zhang Studio mentioned in numerous wedding blogs, so I knew that booking them would be a safe bet. I ended up booking Jenny Ung as my hair and makeup artist for my wedding, and I am so happy with the results. I looked through so many photos of brides to look for hair and makeup inspiration, but nothing was quite what I wanted, so I ended up having to give Jenny a description of what I wanted, and she did a great job with it. The hair and makeup trial was really important, as I thought I wanted one look, but ended up having to adjust it because I changed my mind afterwards. Since I didn't have a clear picture of what I wanted and couldn't go back to the studio for a re-trial (because I live in Chicago), I was nervous that I wouldn't like my look on the day of. However, Jenny did an amazing job regardless. She has really great taste and was able to put together a perfect look for me! Plus, her fun and upbeat personality made the 3-4 hour sessions much more enjoyable. We also hired 4 assistants to do hair and makeup for my bridal party and family members, and they all did great. Everyone was friendly, easy to work with, and right on schedule. Maria, who does the scheduling, is very helpful and quick to respond to emails. Thanks to the whole team!

Erica and her team from Kelly Zhang Studio were awesome! They re-worked our timeline on the fly when our wedding party got lost and gave us a late start. I never felt stressed out because they were able to handle things smoothly. I'm so happy with the way our make up and hair turned out. Everyone kept giving my wedding party and me compliments throughout the day, and I felt like I looked the prettiest I've ever been...which I think is what any bride wishes for their bridal look. Plus, I'm really, really happy that I chose Erica for our lead artist. We just clicked immediately during my make up trial, and we had a great time on the morning of our wedding. My makeup lasted throughout the day and well into the night. The touch up kit really came in handy, as my maid of honor used it to touch up my makeup for the post-ceremony photography and just prior to our grand entrance into the reception.The only thing that I would say was a negative was that something left a residue on my contact lenses that affected my field of vision and made things a little blurry for me. I changed my contact lenses twice throughout the day. I'm assuming the residue was from the eyelash glue? My sensitive eyes were fine. I didn't tear up, and they didn't burn nor itch. My eye makeup didn't smear. Even though I couldn't see perfectly, nobody could tell it happened, and overall it wasn't a big issue. We had 12 women who had to have their hair and makeup done on the morning of our wedding, and things went seamlessly. I enthusiastically give my highest recommendation for Kelly Zhang Makeup and Hair Studio. My only regret was not hiring them for my engagement shoot. One last note, they were very quick to respond to phone calls and emails -- always a plus to a busy bride! The grand total was $1550 for 12 clients. For the bride, makeup only was $185 (a personal friend/hairstylist did my hair). Bridal party hair+makeup was $130 per person. FYI, I have a multiracial background (primarily Asian-Mexican)and have had some bad experiences with professional makeup as a bridesmaid in the past. Plus, I don't typically wear cosmetics unless I'm going out to dinner or to a special occasion. These makeup artists did not disappoint. They highlighted my best features while creating a natural, romantic look just like I asked for!

Kelly Zhang Studio came highly recommended by a few of my friends. After experiencing some horrible experiences as a bridesmaids in some other people's weddings (e.g. her makeup artist arriving 2 hours late, make-up artists disparaging other make-up artists), I was not about to take any chances with my own. They were prompt and professional. Excellent service. They run their business like a well oiled machine. Go with Kelly Zhang's makeup team because your make-up and hair should be the last thing you want to worry about on your wedding day.

Yuzu Tanaka of Kelly Zhang Studio did a phenomenal job on my make-up. She enhanced my features, but still made sure I looked like "me", which I really wanted. She made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend Kelly Zhang Studio for both hair and make-up! The two assistants that came along did a wonderful job on my bridesmaids - all of them were very happy with their looks!

I can't thank Kelly Zhang - specifically, Linda and her assistants, Amanda, and Sarah - enough for making our crew of bridesmaids and mothers (and one aunt who flew in from Korea) look naturally glowing and beautiful on my wedding day. I was really nervous about choosing a studio that could do natural looking Asian hair/makeup as well as work with a bridal party of different ethnic backgrounds/styles. A coworker mentioned Kelly Zhang, and I am so grateful for her recommendation. After reviewing the stylists' portfolios, I decided to go with senior stylist Linda. From my very first trial, Linda was so kind, helpful, and an expert in her craft. I didn't know exactly what style of makeup/hair I wanted, so she tried out a more dramatic look. After having some photos taken later that day, I decided I wanted a more natural look and brought in a few photos to show Linda at my second trial. She knew exactly what I wanted and also patiently tried two different hair updos, tweaking it until it looked just right. On the actual wedding day, Linda and team were complete rockstars. My bridesmaids ranged in hairstyles and personal preferences (from "never had my hair/makeup done before" to "worried someone won't know how to do my hair). The team was able to give each person a look that made them look absolutely beautiful while still looking like themselves. The same goes for the mothers. I couldn't have loved the makeup and hair that Linda did for me more; to add, it was simply a pleasure to work with her. Although I was indecisive about the look I wanted (and had mothers chiming in on what look I should have), I did have a sense of what I didn't like, and Linda was somehow able to guide me to the right place. To add, I found Linda so friendly and fun to chat with about different topics, from makeup to traveling to food. I never felt pressured to go with a look I didn't feel comfortable with, and I always felt Linda listened to my concerns, whether it was the length of a false eyelash or an overall look and feel I was going for. I can't say enough positive things about Kelly Zhang. They are true professionals, whether it is the stylists or the day-to-day operations of the studio. I'd be remiss to not give a shout-out as well to Maria, the head of event coordination, who made the booking and billing process seamless and transparent. She was patient with all my questions as well as with some back-and-forth scheduling changes. Thank you for leaving us with so many positive vibes and great memories! I know this is not easy when working with large groups on a stressful occasion!

Kelly Zhang Studio was extremely professional and a pleasure to work with! Their artists are so talented! I went with Yuzu, who is just lovely. She made me feel so calm, and she did a really beautiful job making me look natural. I felt like myself, and I almost never wear make-up, so that is quite a feat! The studio representatives were super helpful and organized, and answered all of my questions thoroughly and in a timely fashion. The assistant artists were all great as well - they were all incredibly nice people and made my bridesmaids, mother and mother-in-law feel special and beautiful. I let the studio know in advance what I was looking for for their looks, and on the day of, they just did it. I didn't have to worry about anything! I really enjoyed working with Kelly Zhang Studio and would recommend them in a heartbeat!

I booked Kelly Zhang Studio for my the wedding hair and makeup for my wife and I and I'm glad we made the right choice! Leann and Yuzu did the hair and makeup for me and our 3 bridesmaids and Denise did the hair and makeup for my wife and her mom. Maria and Cynthia were very patient and prompt with answering emails and were very accommodating which was really nice! The whole team did a fantastic job making everyone look beautiful on our wedding day, and I especially would like to recommend Leann because not only was she very nice to work with, but she really understands her clients and know how to deal with things like how my eyes are really sensitive and I 99% of the time I end up tearing up when it gets poked around, but unlike other HMU artists I've encountered, she actually made it easy for me, so I felt at ease with her. They also gave my wife and I retouch kits which was a very pleasant surprise, because I haven't seen people do that in other weddings I've been a part of. I would definitely recommend going to Studio K for brides-to-be, especially the wonderful team that worked with us: Leann, Yuzu, and Denise!

The first time I knew Kelly is on my friend's wedding, while I was maid of honor. I was impressed by her work already at that time. I had done several make up service before and feel very obviously Kelly is the best, so I hired Kelly and her team for my wedding. Kelly did an amazing job! The make up last very long - the whole day on my wedding day and I didn't even do any touch up. Kelly is very confident when doing her work and understand what I want and even suggest me for a better solution. I feel she must have done thousands and millions of wedding! :) She and her team were strive to make sure we are happy with the work and even it took some extra time. My another photo session make up artist is Rachel, she is also super nice and even helped me to get dressed up with my wedding gown. I think I will definitely go for Kelly's team in the future whenever I need beauty service.

I wish Jennifer Thai could do my make-up everyday. She is the best and will be my go-to for makeup in the future! After a spreadsheet of 7 different makeup artists, I finally decided to have my makeup done by Kelly Zhang Makeup, and my bridesmaids' makeup by another team. + -Per the other reviews, booking process through Kelly Zhang is very professional -For my wedding, Jennifer texted the day prior confirming the time & location, and arrived early the day of -Professionalism alone wouldn't warrant five stars, the quality of Jennifer's work is truly what earns the five stars -She spent as much time as needed to ensure the look was exactly as I wanted both for the trial and the wedding day, and offered recommendations on accessories, extensions, etc. -She is very meticulous with her work, and I appreciate that. My mom was sad that Jennifer wasn't her make-up artist as well :( -I didn't think hair was as important as make-up to me initially, but she completely wowed me by offering two completely different looks for the ceremony and reception. And, she taught my bridesmaid how to switch it up, since she wouldn't be there for the swap -Best of all Jennifer is truly the sweetest and is so cute!! - Unfortunately, there was no flexibility in pricing for adding hair/makeup for an additional 8 girls in my wedding party. That's ok though, if their business doesn't need to do that, I respect that

We have used Kelly Zhang's studio's services a few times now, and are always so pleased. Each and everyone one of us looked beautiful -- hair and make up. It was important to stress to them before the wedding the amount of stylists needed and the amount of time needed so we would be ready on time. With that, they did an excellent job, and Rachel is absolutely fabulous!

I had Rachel, a senior makeup artist from Kelly Zhang, Inc for my wedding day hair and makeup. Rachel was truly the best. She and her assistant were there at the bridal dressing room even before I got there! She was all set up and ready to go! She was a perfectionist and meticulous in everything. What I really loved about her style was that she and her assistant did the makeup for the bridesmaids as well as myself, outside in natural lighting. Everyone at the wedding was commenting about how gorgeous my hair and makeup looked. Even my parents, who are normally anti-makeup, were in approval at my makeup. I will definitely be using their services again in the future for any special occasions that may come up!

I started serious wedding planning about 6 months out from my date, and contacted Kelly about 5 months out - thought this would be plenty of time, but this is apparently "late" in the wedding world (my dress vendor also gave me crap about putting a rush on my dress when ordering 6 months out...). Kelly sent me a link with portfolios from several of her artists and asked me to select three. However, when I sent back my three requests, she said they were all booked and suggested someone else not even on the list. In the end, I was happy with the service. The hair and makeup looked great. She is just too popular, so there was some miscommunication about artists available on certain dates. Apparently I also picked a very popular wedding date, so she was even more strapped for artists than usual. Anyway, lesson learned - contact her early if you want to get your pick. However, even if you don't get your pick, I'm sure the artist will do a stellar job. Last comment - if you want to get in touch with her quickly, call rather than email.

I don't a very "done up" person when it comes to hair and make-up these days...I keep it pretty simple so finding a hair and make-up person who could enhance my features without making me look like a drag queen was critical! You want to feel like yourself on your wedding day and you want your groom to recognize you...more is not always more :) Kelly Zhang is a studio with several hair and make-up artists which was great for the size of my bridal party. They will work with you to find the artist that meets what you are looking for and will redo your trial if you are not pleased. On that note, I did opt to redo my make-up trial as although my make-up was "pretty" the first go around, it was not the specific retro glam Audrey Hepburn eye I had tried to articulate. They did not make me feel bad about asking for a redo. Rachel was my artist and I was so pleased with her work. My hair and make-up lasted through the night. They are great!

Kelly did my makeup for my wedding and although there needed to be some last minute changes due to my last minute decision of coloring my hair, she did an amazing job on the makeup to look fabulous with my darker hair. I also changed my hairstyle and emailed her a picture a couple of days before the wedding and she executed it perfectly. I'm excited to see how the professional photos are going to come out!! Her prices are competitive for the wedding industry and she's just an awesome individual!!

Prior to coming to Kelly Zhang and her team for my bridal hair/makeup, I had met with other makeup artists and even done a trial somewhere else. In the end, I decided to do a trial with Kelly Zhang's team and it was one of the best decisions I've made for the wedding! My makeup artist was Linda and from the moment I met Linda, I knew she's someone that could put me at ease. She was friendly but not overly talkative. She offered her opinions as a professional artist, but still listened to what I had to say as a client. I brought a friend with me to the trial and my friend had a lot of things to say about how my makeup should look (simply because she's also a guru herself) and Linda was very patient with us both! She was also very thorough during the trial and took her time to ensure I was happy with everything. On my wedding day, Linda and her assistant arrived at our hotel ON TIME and worked in a very small hotel room :/ In hindsight, I should have probably booked a suite but kudos to Linda and her assistant for being able to work in a small space. Linda worked on me last but spent time before me to work on my mom's hair/makeup and my bridesmaids' hair/makeup (with her assistant's help, of course). Everyone's hair/makeup turned out gorgeous and I also really loved my makeup/hair. I chose to have airbrush makeup but I was concerned that my makeup would look too stiff and I wanted to look like I have flawless but somewhat of a dewy look; Linda then told me she could do 1/2 airbrush and 1/2 traditional foundation - in the end, I was very happy with my results. I felt like a beautiful bride and could not thank Linda and her assistant enough for making us all feel beautiful!! Ladies - you seriously get what you pay for. I know you may think the prices Kelly and her team charge are a little high but they are worth every penny. Ask for Linda if Kelly isn't available for your date!!

I loved my makeup on my wedding day. I keep looking at my wedding pictures because I can't believe how great of a job they did. They exactly did what I wanted: a natural radiant look. My family, photographer and even my husband complimented me on my hair and makeup. I had my makeup and hair done by Leann, a senior artist, and my bridemaids and mom had Valerie. The cost was very expensive but I think it was worth every penny. My makeup and hair was the only thing I really splurge on my wedding.

Mieko and Bianca did all the hair and makeup for my wedding and everyone looked sooooo amazing! They are so patient and talented. Mieko did my and my mother's hair and makeup. We loved it and everyone thought we looked beautiful. They will do natural or over the top, whatever you want, but you will still look like you. And they leave a touch-up kit, so you can easily reapply all through the night.

Jennifer, who did my hair and make up for my wedding, was absolutely amazing. She is the nicest ever, always asking if anything was hurting, or if I liked out it was looking. We couldn't get one of my eyelashes to look right, but she kept trying all these different ways, and never making me feel bad for changing it. When she first did my trial, it was exactly the way I wanted it, and on the wedding day, it was gorgeous! Natural and beautiful. I can't thank her enough about making me feel comfortable, and delivering exactly what I wanted. Even with the hair, she always asked if this was how I liked it and adjusted every little detail. I had my hair and make up done for my friend's wedding as well, and I can tell you Kelly Zhang was so much more friendly and skillful. The hair stayed in the entire day, and didn't hurt with all the bobby pins. She even found the exact shade of lip color that I wanted! All my bridesmaids also got their hair and make up done and all said it was the best hair/make up they ever had done before. All of them are using their look as their facebook profiles now, they loved it so much! At first I was worried when Kelly Zhang herself was a bit expensive, but Jennifer was a lead artist and I have 0 complaints - I loved her and her team, and I highly recommend her to anyone!! Leann and Linda did my makeup along with 3 bridesmaids and my mom. They were on time which was fabulous and they really took their time with us. The price for the bride is a bit steep, but leann really took her time with me and my makeup was pretty flawless with the airbrushing and contouring (it was a super hot day 9/9/12 and I got married on a rooftop deck of a hotel). We also took pictures at the beach and pier and I did not look one bit sweaty! I was a bit disappointed that the bridesmaids or MOB did not receive a touchup kit (at least just some blotting paper and a bit of gloss). I did receive a touchup kit with everything I can think of, which was great! Our makeup and hair looked amazing in the photos so we are very happy we hired them! I would highly recommend them!

Normally I hate wearing makeup and doing my hair, but Ailien and her assistant made it a great experience! She talked me into doing false eyelashes which looked amazing, and my hair couldn't have been prettier. It is also so awesome that they came to my venue in downtown LA for no extra cost, on time and super friendly, too! They were on the upper level of my price range, but it was totally worth it for the star treatment we got.

I always knew I wanted to get my makeup and hair done by Kelly Zhang Studio. Just look at their portfolio, amazing transformations! The makeup trial is a must for any bride that wants to look her best on the day of. I'll admit, I came in with no idea of how or what I wanted to look like, thinking my makeup artist will be able to stir something up. But, it was too natural for me and it didn't hit me until I got home to look at it even more. However, I did love my hair during that session. I expressed my feelings to them a coupld days later and they immediately set me up with another trial session at no extra charge. I went in just for the makeup this time and showed them a few pics (brides, make sure you bring in pics! Thsi will def help your makeup artist and save you time). Mieko was on point with the look and I left super pleased and super excited for the day of. This experience left me thinking not only will they work with you until you are happy, but they are super nice and not mean about anything at all, which I loved. They sort of treat you like a long time friend and only want what's best for you. On the day of the wedding, I was super pleased with the overall look. I also booked them for my bridesmaids and they loved their makeup too. I'm just so glad I got to secure them for my big day! I don't know how anyone couldn't be pleased with their service and work! I chose the Kelly Zhang team for my bridal party's hair and makeup upon recommendation from one of my bridesmaids. If you check out their website it's not a tough choice. They do amazing work. We had a team of two girls, Denise and Jenny. Jenny did hair and Denise did makeup. They showed up on time and only took a few minutes to set up. They listened to what my girls and I wanted and delivered beautiful results. One note is that I felt it was a little pricey for the bride's hair and makeup but at the end of the day you don't want to chance a sloppy job for a cheaper price.

I used Leann from Kelly Zhang for both my engagement photo session and my wedding day. Both for hair and make up. My make up looked really natural and I got a lot of compliments on my wedding day. Leann definitely understood her brides and she applied exactly what I wanted. For my hair, she did a side "messy" bun. Exactly what I asked for and it looked really nice. Leann brought 2 assistants for my bridal party and everyone looked really beautiful. Leann also did my mom's hair and she too got a lot of compliments. She was very pleased with Leann as was I. I also added 3 more people for hair and make up at the last minute and Jennie from Kelly Zhang Studio worked with my wedding planner to add another assistant and worked out the timing. Really appreciated their willing to bend over backwards to make sure the make up and hair was done on time. Definitely would recomment Kelly Zhang studio.

Denise did the makeup for me, my sister, my mom, and my cousin. She did a great job on everyone and she was early! Kelly and company are highly responsive from the very beginning and scheduling and such was a breeze. Kelly (when trying to book a date) and Jennie (my contact for the rest of the period before my wedding) patiently answer all my questions. The price is a bit high to me but I splurged on this since it was my wedding and I love their work, but just on the makeup. I had my friend (who is a hair stylist) do our hair. I had airbrush done and it felt like I was wearing nothing. I usually don't wear any makeup at all so that's a good thing. The makeup lasted all night and even after someone accidentally exploded a soda bottle (at the end of the night) and drenched me, my makeup was still good after I dried off the cola! The only awkward thing was my long lashes kept getting caught in my veil (when I had it down over my face during the ceremony); other than that, all was well and I am highly satisfied at their service. A very stress-free choice if you go with them and they will make you beautiful~ =)

Kelly and her team made us look like models! She was so great to have accomodated my large party (myself, 4 bridesmaids, 2 moms, and 2 sisters) and was especially gracious to my incredibly picky mom. I'm usually pretty critical of my looks (I don't ever wear makeup) but she made me look so beautiful, my husband cried like a baby during the first look! The airbrush makeup she used on me was weightless but lasted well into the night, and my purple eyeshadow looked elegant and not like I jumped out of an 80's movie! I will definately use her expertise again!

Leann was my makeup artist from Kelly Zhang. She was amazing! My hair kept its style through the ceremony and reception. My makeup was amazing and played up my features. Leann made me feel at ease during both the engagement session and wedding day. My mom also loved the way Leann did her hair and makeup with minimal input. Love Leann!

Kelly is amazing!!! There are not a lot of makeup artists that can also do hair. I loved my hair and makeup. It was exactly what I wanted. All my bridesmaids looked amazing too. I would recommend her to anyone. You will not be disappointed.

My stylist Marie was great, she was easy to work and really listened to what I wanted and helped me make my vision come true! I did a hair and make-up trial first and it went smoothly. She was on time for the wedding day and completed as scheduled. Warning - my initial communications with the owner Kelly Zhang were good but seemed to get less consistent as time went on and a month before my wedding I was handed off to a coordinator who was not very organized.

A friend of mine recommended Kelly to me and I'm so glad she did. The team working on my party were all professional and nice to work with. Would recommend.

The Kelly Zhang team is amazing and very professional. Denise arrived at the hotel 30 minutes early. I had Denise working on my hair and makeup. She did my mom's hair first while a friend and I grabbed a drink to relax before the prep process began. I loved the end result and I got rave reviews from all of the guests. Even my day-of coordinator was impressed with the team's professionalism and is considering them for her own wedding. I found Kelly through Yelp based on great reviews. Unfortunately Kelly was not available for my wedding day but her senior artist Meiko was. Meiko is awesome. She did an awesome job and did everything I asked for. I had a style change later in the evening so she came back for. Both times she was early which was great, one less thing to worry about. Everyone kept on commenting how gorgeous i looked, and I know Meiko played a big role. Kelly is also awesome to work with. I would highly recommend them. Although the cost is on the high end, but for the life time memory, I say it is worth it!

I'm so happy I went with this studio for my wedding day hair and makeup. My artist, Mieko, was amazing and really listened to me and worked with me to perfect my look. I got so many compliments! They were very reasonably priced, as well! Highly recommend this studio to any brides out there!

I found Kelly Zhang from http://theKnot.com and was impressed by the good reviews for her online. It turned out that she was also the recommended makeup artist by my wedding coordinator. I did a trial with Kelly 5 months before the wedding and was very very happy about the result. I went to take my engagement photo shoot right after the trial make up, and those photos looked amazing; I knew I wouldn't have to worry about how I look on the wedding day. On my wedding day, Kelly arrived early and worked her magic on me again. The result looks natural and beautiful and it lasted all day long. I didn't even do any touch up. I cannot be happier. I wish I could get her to do my make up everyday :) Highly recommend Kelly!

Kelly and her team are amazing!! I fell in love with my makeup and hair after my trial session, and she duplicated the exact look on my wedding day and everyone kept complimenting how beautiful I looked! She also did the hair and makeup for my mom and mother in law and they both looked gorgeous! Her team did the hair for all my girls, and they were very efficient with everything; they showed up early the day of, and worked with all of us and made us feel so glam! I am so in love in Kelly Zhang Makeup and Hair Studio. I was so happy when I booked them for my wedding. I knew they would make me look so pretty. For this one special day, I wanted to feel like a beautiful princess, and that's what they did. I had Mieko do my hair and makeup for my engagement shoot. She was so amazing and sweet. I looked so godd in the engagement photos. My mother-in-law said I looked like a movie star. :) For my wedding day and trial, I had Jennie. She was a gem! She's so cute and put me as ease. I loved the way she did my hair and makeup. I felt GORGEOUS. My mother looked amazing. I've seen hair and makeup done by other artists, and by far, Kelly Zhang Makeup and Hair Studio is the best. As a Vietnamese bride, I wanted to hire Asian makeup artists who knew how to highlight my Asian features and make me feel just as beautiful as all the models I see in our Western/American culture. I put a good portion of my wedding budget to hair and makeup , and it was totally worth it.

I hired The Kelly Zhang company for my wedding day purely on reviews. I live in another state so I never had an engagement session or bridal trial session. My wedding day was the first time having my hair and makeup done by the Kelly Zhang team and I could not be happier with the results. Kelly Zhang was wonderful at contacting me. They made sure to ask exactly how I would like my hair and makeup done for myself and bridesmaids. They confirmed the time and location of where they needed to be. My wedding ceremony was early so I needed everyone's hair and makeup done by 830am. We had 9 women including myself and they had three Artists to work on all of us. Our appointment time was 4:00am. I had a horrible time communicating with Kelly Zhang. I cannot rate Kelly's professionalism high at all. However, I choose one of her artists, Jennie, to do my makeup. Jennie and the other artists that did my and my bridesmaid's makeup were FANTASTIC! We had so much fun working with them and everyone was beautiful.

The Kelly Zhang studio is the BEST in makeup and hair. Being an Asian I did a lot of research on makeup artists. It's hard to find a person who can do makeup on an Asian face without making it look cheap and overdone. I met with Kelly and one of her lead artists, Kathy, and they were super friendly and professional. After many questions and seeing before and after pictures, it was clear that they knew what they were doing. I had confidence that they could do the job right. My trial went well, and i felt comfortable to give my honest opinion. I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup on my wedding day! Kathy also did my mom's makeup for my wedding and she did an excellent job with her as well. My mom was comfortable really liked the natural look of the makeup. I am so thankful to Kathy and Kelly for a job well done. I recommend Kelly Zhang Makeup and Hair to any bride!

I live out of state and didn't book until less than a month before my wedding. I contacted them through quite a few e-mails. It was slightly nerve racking having them only contact me through there and not over the phone. I ended up booking my trail run a few days before the wedding and was really pleased. Their shop is cute and Kathy did a great job. I was so lucky to find them last minute!

With 3 Asian and 3 Caucasian bridesmaids, I was very concerned during my hair/makeup vendor search. I'm also a darker tone (Hawaiian-looking) and never normally wear makeup, so wanted a natural and light look to go with the surf-themed wedding by the beach. Kelly Zhang came through 100%. The makeup on my Caucasian bridesmaids looked light and elegant and the ones on the Asians were smoky and spot-on for matching skin tone. The hair was all slightly different and no stuffy "updos". The best things about choosing Kelly Zhang: 1. My make up stayed on ALL day. From 9am to 2 hours of pics at the beach to crying about 10 times throughout the day to 5 dress changes (no smudging!). 2. My hair/makeup looked great with all three of my dresses (a modern looking wedding dress, a full sequined Chinese dress in red/white with a huge dragon/phoenix, and a white sequined party/dance dress)! My husband said,"I never really believed in the 'beautiful bride' concept, but you were the most elegant and beautiful I have ever seen you. It was amazing." (Thanks... I think).

Kelly was professional and helpful to coordinate for my wedding makeup and trail session, even though I was late in my planning (2 weeks prior to my wedding day). Marie did my makeup and also one of my bridesmaid's. She came on time and did a great job. I recommend Kelly Zhang Sudio for any events, especially you are Asian.

Kelly Zhang and her staff are absolutely amazing! I booked Kelly and her staff for hair and makeup for my wedding in October. Having heard from a friend that she is super busy, I called in early February to book Kelly for my wedding but she was already taken! No worries though. Kelly asked if I would be willing to work with her very talented staff. Of course I said yes. I did a trial run with Karen and she was awesome. She truly understood my Asian features (i.e. small eyes, pale skin tone) and made sure to enhance them. She also took extra care to make sure that my makeup looked natural but not too dark so that it wouldn't show up in pictures. On my wedding day, Karen and Kelly's other makeup staff person, Leann showed up right on time. Leann did a fantastic job on all of my bridesmaids. Even when my maid of honor decided she wanted to change her hair because she didn't like her down do, Leann immediately fixed it and gave her a fantastic up do. She was really fun to work with - laughing and making jokes with all of us as one of her favorite movies played on tv. It was a great time! By the time Karen and Leann were finished, it was 1 PM (they started at 9 AM). My makeup and hair remained flawless throughout the night with very few touch ups because of the high quality of products they used. If you're looking for a top makeup and hair person, I highly recommend Kelly and her staff! Book early as she gets very busy. You will not be disappointed! I used Mieko for my bridal make up and she was the nicest and professional make up artist ever! I received SO many compliments on my hair and make up, she truly helped me to look beautiful for my special day. She even followed up with an email to see how everything turned out which no other vendor has done which was great! Kelly was amazing to work with too, she was SO flexible with my schedule as my schedule changed probably 10 times the week of the wedding. She was open to discuss different options and make the whole experience and easy and even sent extra helper to make me feel comfortable to make sure we were all going to get ready on time!

I contacted Kelly about hair and make up for myself and my two bridesmaids and she was booked already, so I choose Mieko. I went into their studio in Pasadena for a trial. Kelly and Mieko were very nice and friendly. Because my hair is so fine the curls did not hold but my make up was flawless. I ended up having my hair all up on the day of my wedding and it stayed in place all 18 hours! Mieko and her assistant were very professional on the day of and they were on time at 5am! I told her we all needed to be ready by 8am and they worked fast and got us all ready on time! To my surprise, a few weeks after my wedding Kelly sent me a thank you card in the mail and a cute tote bag! To all brides, if you want Kelly be sure to book her early! If not, ask for Mieko because she is excellent too!
