My husband hates pictures so I was nervous about our engagement session, but Kelsey immediately made both of us feel comfortable and like we had all been friends for a long time. Kelsey kept in great communication with me prior to the wedding and made sure she had all of the information she needed. On the day of the wedding Kelsey arrived on time and immediately started taking photos. Kelsey handled everything from getting ready photos to first look to stressful family photos with ease. We recently received all of our photos and I cannot stop looking at them. I requested one outdoor location because we wanted pictures with our dog and she never complained about the cold once, and provided a second location option to warm up in - a cozy greenhouse. we wrote long emails in great detail to get to know each other and plan my engagement and wedding day photography. Kelsey was so accommodating to my husband and I, especially considering the fact that we live in the St. Louis area and were getting married in KC. Kelsey worked with us to skype video call, email, text, and meet in person as we were able to plan our big day. Second, Kelsey is so knowledgeable about her craft - she is an expert to be trusted. For example, Kelsey sold us a photography package that specifically included an engagement session not only because it's a great deal, but specifically so that she could get to know how we acted in front of a camera. That was such a brilliant idea because not only did we get gorgeous engagement photos, we also got to experience working with Kelsey (and having a lot of fun!) before the big wedding day. It was such a nice 'trial' run for us all. You can tell Kelsey is a master wedding photographer because she planned our day down to the minute in order to ensure that she caught the best moments, but she also remained flexible when the weather didn't cooperate. At our engagement shoot, the weather gave drizzling rain, but Kelsey came prepared with adorable clear bubble umbrellas. And I absolutely love our rainy day engagement photos. On our wedding day, the heat index was well over 100 degrees, but Kelsey made sure we had mini fans, lots of shade, and minimized our time in the heat. Third, Kelsey is simply so much fun to work with. I feel like I gained a new friend in the Kansas City area after working with her. My husband and I, our entire wedding party and family members were so relaxed with Kelsey. She fit right in with our crew. Because we were all so comfortable together, it made for an amazing day with really natural photos. You can see in our pictures that she captured some really hilarious pictures that we will treasure forever. Finally, Kelsey's pictures are absolutely stunning. Look through any of her projects on her website and you'll see that her work speaks for itself. I know I may be biased, but everyone I've talked to about these photographs just gushes about how beautiful they are. Kelsey is amazing. Book her while you can!!

Luckily, we found Kelsey. Kelsey is not only an amazing photographer, but she is a wonderful person inside and out! I received our wedding photos just last night and I can't seem to stop looking at them. I also had her do a boudoir shoot as well for my husband. Kelsey loosened us up in about 10 minutes, always making us laugh and playing off of our personality. She never made us do any poses we didn't want to do, which I think is so important on your special day. Kelsey was the third photographer we interviewed, and it didn’t take long for us to feel like we had just met up with an old friend at Starbuck’s. She was prepared with her contract paperwork, a digital portfolio, and was so energetic about her work. When we left the interview, my husband turned to me and said he actually had fun. I knew she was our gal. We booked her nearly a year out for our October 2016 wedding. On the day of our engagement session, I had my make-up professionally done. I walked in with sunshine and walked out in pouring rain. I was devastated and called Kelsey to cancel. She opened up the doplar radar and said, “No, we’re going to do this!” I laugh thinking about that now and smile with appreciation for her flexibility and sincere care for us as clients. The evening ended up being perfect. Kelsey loved our suggestions for locations— Loose Park and the Liberty Memorial. Our photos were beautiful beyond my expectations. She helped us see our favorite places in our hometown, and our love for one another, in new and exciting ways. After this session, we were excited to have her as a guest at our wedding. Yes, guest— not just a vendor. Kelsey is easy going but all business at the same time. She has an amazing eye for setting up shots, and an inherent ability to help you feel like yourself/ feel at ease even when you may actually feel a bit vulnerable in front of a camera. She gives straight forward instructions when needed, but gravitates toward capturing your natural interaction in a more photo journalism style. At our wedding, she was amazing with our wedding party and other large groups. We have some rowdy friends and family, and she joined in on the fun but also commanded the attention needed to get through our shot list (and then some). I am in awe of the photos we have to cherish. Hundreds between the two sessions. My husband and I both feel so lucky to have met Kelsey. We can’t hardly wait for the next big milestone to share with her.
