we interacted with was so nice. Our event manager, Maddie was amazing. She did a great job working with our coordinator to organize the wedding and went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice weekend. Kiara, the banquet manager was also absolutely lovely and super helpful. We also had great experiences with Tiffany, the front desk manager, and Anna, the bar manager. The food was also incredible. We got so many compliments on the cocktail hour.

Her communication was exceptional—she checked in constantly and made sure that anything I needed for our big day was handled with care and professionalism. Truly, she made the entire process stress-free and joyful. We also want to thank Diogo, who made our stay at the resort so welcoming and comfortable. His warm hospitality made us feel at home, and he went the extra mile by surprising us throughout the weekend with thoughtful goodies from Brazil (where I'm from) —such a special and personal touch that meant so much to me. We can’t recommend Kent Island Resort enough. It’s the perfect blend of beauty, service, and heart. Our wedding weekend was a dream come true! 💍✨

would not recommend this place to any family or friends due to this. In the 1.5 years leading up to the wedding, we had 6 different coordinators. Leading up to the event, we would have to send several email and make several calls to get a response if we had a question. Often, we would not get a response as the coordinator had left the company and no one reached out to us. This was clear when we had our tasting, and our (4th) coordinator did not realize our wedding was only a few months away. We had not received any information, menus, etc. from the venue. When our 4th coordinator left, the wedding director became our coordinator and said there would be no more changes. About a week later we met out 6th coordinator. This also severely affected booking the wedding block as well. First, no one wanted to take responsibility for the role. We would contact our coordinator and she would send us to the front desk. We would call the front desk and they would send us back to the coordinator! It took us 4 months and several dozen phone calls and emails to figure out the room block with Kent Island. It took them until the week before the wedding to have everything correctly down. Again, there was a lot of miscommunication leading up to the event, especially regarding the seating for the ceremony and the ceremony location (!). After being assured there would be no more confusion after several emails/calls, I had to stop getting ready the day of to go out and correct the seating layout. Later that night, our coordinator actually left during dinner service, which was not disclosed before. We then ended up having to share coordinator's with the other wedding party, and the night was chaotic after that. I ended up spending the second half of the night directing when events would take place. Our planned exit did not work out as we could not find the shared coordinator. Again, the grounds are beautiful, but it is not worth the stress of communicating (or lack thereof) with Kent Island Resort. My vendor team is really what held the day together!

cellent, the event space is gorgeous. With that said, I want to be candid about our planning process for the 1.5 years leading up to the wedding. When we first booked Kent Island, we were told that an event coordinator from the venue would start working with us 9 months out from the wedding to help us with vendor management and all day-of coordination. This certainly did not end up being the case (we ended up hiring an outside planner because the coordinator turnover at Kent Island was hectic). We worked with 4+ different individuals at Kent Island over the past year due to turnover, and at one point I was sending emails to a coordinator who had left and no one had reached out to inform me. While the coordinators we worked with were nice, it was clear they were very overwhelmed and it would take multiple emails to get responses. There was miscommunication and confusion with some things being undercharged, then overcharged. I understand it may be challenging to retain employees in a rural environment, however, given the pricing of this venue and the expectations set at the beginning, this is really something Kent Island needs to improve upon. The process of booking rooms at the Inn was chaotic, with the front desk mixing up reservations multiple times. I was really stressed as the bride trying to keep things organized, and I do not think the day would have run smoothly without the external planning team that I hired. I don’t regret having my wedding at Kent Island, as it is a stunning venue and the day was wonderful, but I really wish there were different expectations set out at the onset of working with them. As I said, I have mixed feelings about the experience. I really enjoyed my wedding day, but the venue sold itself as something approximating turnkey, charges like that too, and in my experience that is not true.

guests raved about the food (many called it the best wedding food ever) the venue and just overall experience. Yes, there were small issues like any big event but staff went out of their way to make sure they were addressed in a timely manner. The Farmstead is an amazing venue. Wish I had a second daughter to watch all her friends interact again in the bridal suite. My wife and I will be going back for dinners, or events etc. special shout out to Mackenzie, chef jeff, Diogo, Ana (she is incredibly special), Laney and all the servers at our event. So sad I don’t get a chance to celebrate with my daughter again this weekend. What a great magical place and people.

I’m very Type-A and detail-oriented, yet I felt completely disorganized throughout the entire process due to poor communication, a lack of clarity, and constant staff turnover. Over the course of planning, we were passed between five different points of contact. Each transition came with lost information, repeated conversations, and general confusion. There was no central system for tracking updates, no direct contact numbers or extensions, and very little consistency. Emails often went unanswered, and getting even basic information usually required multiple follow-ups. As the weekend approached, we experienced several miscommunications and surprise charges — such as duplicate items listed in the BEO, major changes that weren’t communicated (like the tent flooring being completely changed), and unexpected fees that suddenly appeared. It often felt like we were always the last to know what was happening, and I constantly found myself second-guessing what had actually been confirmed. Unfortunately, the wedding weekend itself continued in the same chaotic fashion. There were serious issues with room cleanliness — including footprints on bedsheets, no running bathroom water, and non-working outlets in the bathroom. There were also multiple execution errors, including: - The rehearsal dinner salad being served buffet-style, when it was supposed to be plated - Me having to direct the staff to refill empty buffet trays - The wrong chairs being set up in the reception space - The promised tableside wine service never occurring - Incorrect linens placed on reception tables - Incorrect room charge amounts and my husband being charged twice for bar services he wasn’t responsible for Even small moments turned into major stressors: - The bridal suite was locked the morning of, when we were told we’d have access - No venue representative was present for the entirety of rehearsal dinner or cocktail hour/reception - And the private food and champagne for me and my husband during cocktail hour never showed up Perhaps the most frustrating part of all this was the clear lack of ownership and accountability. Rather than offering proactive support, I was the one chasing answers, flagging mistakes, and constantly advocating for myself — even on basic details that should have been handled. Customer service across the board, including at the front desk, was incredibly disappointing. And the day-of venue coordinator I was assigned? I never saw her once. I’m not sharing this out of bitterness, but to help future couples go in with their eyes wide open. Yes, the venue is beautiful — but the planning and execution were disorganized, frustrating, and riddled with issues that could have easily been prevented. If you’re considering Kent Island Resort, be prepared to advocate for yourself every step of the way, and don’t assume anything is handled unless you’ve personally confirmed it — and followed up multiple times. I truly hope the venue takes serious steps to improve communication, consistency, and service — because right now, the setting is being completely overshadowed by a chaotic experience behind the scenes.

We had Paola as our event coordinator and besides from being just an incredibly genuine human, she made our wedding day the absolute best it could be. She kept us on time, set up things behind the scenes, checked in with us, and truly went above and beyond to make our day perfect. I would work with her again in a heartbeat and recommend her to anybody having a wedding at Kent Island. I didn't have to worry about a single thing at Kent Island and we had the best experience. he utmost respect. Cheyenne was our coordinator and we were blown away by her attention to detail and reception of our input. She couldn’t have been more communicative throughout the whole process and was present and available throughout our entire wedding day. If we had a question, it was answered immediately. If we had a concern it was addressed immediately. The weather wasn’t ideal on our wedding day, and Cheyenne was completely receptive and collaborative to our preferences as we needed to pivot quickly. The food at the venue was amazing and the bar service was impossible to beat. Luckily we won’t need to plan another wedding, but if we did, we’d 100% go back to Kent Island.

Naomi was there for our final detail meeting with Cheyenne and then took care of our actual wedding day. Naomi was also great with communication and very attentive of anything we wanted or needed that day. She was kind, helpful and on top of it! The venue is so beautiful that we opted for few decorations, but anything we did drop off to be put out for our wedding was taken care of. The food was EXCELLENT and the staff that helped out the day of were all friendly and very attentive.

She was so patient with all of our last minute changes and answered every question we had. She truly made our day so much easier and helped make it beautiful. The day of our wedding was nothing less than perfect, all thanks to Cheyenne helping to bring all of my plans come to life. The rest of the staff was also amazing. The entire catering crew was so attentive. They made sure all of the food was constantly refilled, attended to any guests needs and were so thoughtful always asking me and my husband if we needed anything. I couldn't stop getting praises from all of our guests on the quality of food and the ability to always have a drink in hand. Finally, the venue was so beautiful. We ended up having close to Kent Island's minimum for the Farmstead (150 guests). I was worried with such a big reception space that it would look a little empty, however, the staff laid everything out in a way that made it seem perfect for our size. For the Farmstead being a newer venue, their staff really knew how to execute perfect weddings there. I would recommend to anyone looking!

While my wife and I were the stars, the food definitely was the belle of the ball. The filet was a perfect medium rare beauty, everything came out hot for our 160 guests, just delicious. Their baking partners at Blue Crab made INCREDIBLE cupcakes - shout out to the snickerdoodle cheesecake bars - The farmstead venue itself is gorgeous. We kept being asked where we found this place and I am going to say it was the internet with a pinch of fate. It was the first venue we toured and we knew this was the place. -Well oiled machine. This place does WED-👏 -DINGS 👏, my friends. I felt zero stress. - Welcoming. I am a trans non-binary human and my wife is, well, my wife and we felt like any other couple which is exactly what we were looking for. Nothing demonstrative, just another pair of weirdos getting hitched on a Sunday. - Thoughtful. Neither of us drink, and they made sure our champagne glasses were filled with cider. Just those little touches that made us feel cared for.

Our coordinator, Cheyenne, was excellent and her and her team's attention to detail really eased my anxiety on our big day. Our guests kept on talking about how great the food was, and our wedding party was really impressed with Cheyenne and her team! Additionally, the wedding planning process was very smooth for us as KIR has a list of excellent recommended vendors that we mostly used. Thank you KIR for making our big day possible!!

get married. The barn is beautifully designed and was able to accommodate 215 people. The bridal suite was PERFECT. In addition, the staff were kind, attentive, organized, and a pleasure to work with. Naoimi was flexible, kind, and worked as a team with our wedding planner to assure we had the best wedding day. We look forward to celebrating our anniversary at the Inn in the future!

ncluding the perfect bridal suite and balcony, as well as a big and nicely renovated getting ready room for the groomsmen that we rented at the Inn. Sadly we did not get to use the pergola for our ceremony as planned, but the indoor ceremony was even better than I had imagined and the guests loved the beautiful cocktail views and comfy outdoor seating when they weren't out on the huge dance floor! We also got to use the grounds by the water for photos and we had several guests mention how much they liked staying at the Inn. The food (crab cakes & filet) was incredible - several guests came up to us afterwards and said it was the BEST wedding food they had ever had! Mackenzie, Naomi, the kitchen and banquet staff, and the Inn staff were all amazing - they were very patient with our many requests along the way and questions about how everything would look once the construction of the Farmstead was completed (we had 2 long years of planning). The banquet staff were also very attentive to our needs during the event and made sure we had enough food and drinks for ourselves. We even had a surprise rainbow and fireworks to top off an amazing evening! All in all, we would highly recommend having your wedding at Kent Island Resort!!

ng, tasting and many questions between. Kent Island was there to answer our questions and ensure our big day was what we imagined. Our wedding day was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Naomi and her staff were there to support us. From serving breakfast, to setting up our décor, ensuring our rentals (stage, chargers, couches) were where they needed to be, lining our wedding party up and so much more. We have received unless complements about the food and service from our guest. Our guest were raving about the food at cocktail hour and dinner noting it was delicious and hot. Our guest said the bar never had a line and cocktails were served perfectly. I would recommend this beautiful venue to anyone! Saying our wedding was amazing was an understatement. The Hasperts!

Lets not forget Scott who circled the reception and did not stop asking if everything was OK.. Hell, the guy weed wacking the grounds said hi evey time I passed him. Food and service, A+. I cannot say thank you enough! But most importantly, my daughter was relaxed, not stressed and had the best day, exactly what a father wants for his daughter on her wedding day.
